That is the bounty on Jack Bradshaw's head after stealing millions from Russian oligarchs and exposing their conflict diamond smuggling operation.
Moscow has turned to Greg Lambert, Special Advisor to the President, and issued an kill Bradshaw, or suffer the exposure of the full depth of Lambert's relationship with the Russians.
If Lambert goes down, it won't just be the Administration that falls with him. Senators, Congressmen, businessmen...all of them would lose everything.
Lambert can't risk people asking questions or Bradshaw being brought in alive, so an official operation is out of the question.
Steven Hildreth, Jr. is an author, Iraq War veteran, and firearms enthusiast. He resides in Tucson, Arizona.
As a reader, he primarily reads non-fiction regarding special operations and geopolitcs, as well as action thriller fiction (especially from self-published authors). However, he appreciate a good story and has known to deviate from the beaten path from time to time.
Things come to a head in the fourth book in Steven Hildreth's "Forsaken Patriots" series, as the events of the previous three books catch up with Jack Bradshaw. After making enemies in both DC and Moscow, a bounty is placed on Bradshaw's head, and an assortment of hitmen, contractors, rogue agents, and criminals are looking to collect. Meanwhile, Bradshaw's team is moving from North Africa to Europe as they prepare to take the fight directly to the Russians in eastern Ukraine. The book is set in 2019, and astute readers will catch subtle details that coincide with real-world events of that period, which adds a further layer of verisimilitude to the story. As usual with a Hildreth novel, the action is violent and realistic, with the weapons, equipment, tactics, and locations richly described, but there's also plenty of interpersonal drama that brings each character to life. This series is one of those gems of independent publishing that rivals most thrillers of traditional publishing in the quality of prose, plotting, research, characterization, and attention to detail. It's been a long wait since the last book in this series, but it appears the fifth is also slated to be released soon, which will be welcome news for everyone who reads "Open Contract," because as this novel concludes, the stage appears set for a new phase in the "Forsaken Patriots" series.
Bradshaw is back with the latest and (much-anticipated) installment of the Forsaken Patriots series.
"Open Contract" clearly showcases Hildreth's comprehensive understanding of world history, foreign policy, and the geopolitical factors that shape modern global conflicts such as the current war in Ukraine. And within even a few pages, any reader will immediately recognize Hildreth's considerable knowledge of military procedure, fieldcraft, and tradecraft. Fortunately for the reader, he seamlessly blends this knowledge and experience with his talent for vivid prose, visceral action, and heart-pounding pacing, leaving the reader entertained and informed. As always, the author does a superb job of balancing the humanity and flaws of his protagonist/s with their incredible resourcefulness, fortitude, and martial skill. You can't help but to root for Bradshaw as he battles his way through seemingly impossible odds to clear his good name.
If you're looking for one hell of a modern military thriller that delivers an unsparing critique of our domestic politics, this satisfies in a big way. Buy the entire series; you won't be disappointed.
After making enemies in Russia and at home, a bounty of 25m dollars is offered for Jack Bradshaw. He and his companions have to leave their hideout in Casablanca and are on the run from a bunch of assassins. Lots of violent action again in the 4th installment of this amazing series by Steven Hildreth Jr. Can't wait to read how this will go on for Bradshaw, Pace and the others.
For some reason, the Russians didn't like Jack Bradshaw stealing millions of dollars worth of their diamonds. THey use the special assistant to the President to offer an open contract to kill him. There is a reason Jack has lasted this long. Very exciting story with more than enough action.
