He’s been watching her for years, waiting for the right moment. Isaiah Johanssen has built his life around two things: rugby and secretly loving his friend Robyn Cassidy. Since they met playing rugby in college, their stars have never aligned. But Isaiah isn’t worried—he has a plan.
Professional rugby player Robyn Cassidy is determined to show Isaiah she wants more than friendship, but every time she tries to get his attention, the words escape her. Normally bright and confident, she finds herself tongue-tied around her longtime crush.
So what happens when Del, her sexy and charming personal trainer, offers to be her flirt coach, only to find out he’s crushing on the same man? The same man who is now her head coach.
Maybe it’s time Del shows Isaiah exactly what he’s missing out on. A spicy, friends-to-lovers romantic comedy with a guaranteed HEA, kink, and lots of praise. This is book 2 in the Rugby Lover’s series but can be read as a standalone.
This is the 3rd book I’ve gotten to ARC for Sloan Spencer and man, does the writing keep getting better. While not every kink in this book is something I like, the way it’s written is STILL hot. I enjoyed seeing the relationships blossom and depicting some difficult family relationships as well. Thank you for another great read, Sloan!
This was the first book by Sloan Spencer that I had the joy of reading. Having heard so many good things about her previous books, it was a no brainer to sign up for this one.
I mean, a MMF romcom with two rugby players (so there are some Thighs with a capital T. Watch any rugby video and you'll know) and their personal trainer with a great 🍑.
Throw in a cuck chair and so many hot hot hot moments and you have Every Move You Make.
Not a full 5⭐️ for me, simply because of the third act breakup, which happened a bit too late, making the ending feel a bit rushed and not fleshed out enough.
What I did love was the queer rep, the families and the joy that was very present in the book.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book and I loved it! I have read Angie and Rafael’s story and was thrilled to see another Johanssen sibling story. This family is BEAUTIFUL and gives you all the feels in both books.
I immediately fell in love with Robyn. She is perfect - A bad ass rugby player who is trying to embrace her feminine side. You also can’t help but love the relationships in this book. Not only between the main characters but with them and their friends and their families and even the public. Dell and Isaiah give you the absolute best of both worlds - they both gave so many kick your feet moments and the way they love Robyn and each other is so well written and honest.
This is a feel-good sports romance with some good spice! I can’t wait for the next book.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this book. I was beyond excited to read it, because very few authors write connection and love so deeply and beautifully as Sloan does, and it did not disappoint. I have loved all the characters and their development, absolutely adored seeing all the side characters that have grown close to my heart in precious books, and also very much enjoyed the smut. I have to say, based on The Structural Duet, I was expecting there to be more scenes, and also, more detail, but it was delicious nonetheless.
I have two not so great things I´d like to mention, though, both just personal preferences.
One: the conflict. I have very much enjoyed the lack of third act breakups in Sloan´s previous books, so I had high hopes. I´m not saying that what happened in this one is a third act breakup, it was simply a conflict, but I did not enjoy it at all. It only had me screaming the solution and made me incredibly frustrated. And I had the feeling that it all got solved too fast and kind of... superficially. Like *snap* everything´s solved, but we don´t really see the emotions they go through during this solution or how they build their relationship up afterwards, what their dynamic looks like. I would definitely have loved to see a more in-depth chapter -or two- about that.
And two: The cover. Don´t get me wrong, I absolutely love the style of art and also the depiction of Isaiah and Robyn -altough so far, the cover for the Structural Duet books are my absolute favourites-. But damn, that art of Dell gives me the heebie-jeebies. That man on the cover looks like some weird cult leader that´s going to burn you alive and smile whilst doing it... I actively had to turn my ebook face down so that I don´t get a glimpse of him because it left me feeling uneasy. (I also pictured him looking more like Marco, but that might me because of the Dom-thing).
So, all in all, I loved this book and cannot wait to read more from Sloan. Now I´m going and rereading the Structural Duet straight away.
ARC REVIEW This book has got it all. Banter, chemistry, spice, longing, and SO MUCH LOVE. These 3 characters have so many feelings and the way Sloan writes, it’s like you truly are there right along with them going through everything. I absolutely love that Isaiah, Dell, and Robyn have unique connections to each other and while they fit together as individual couples, they’re even more perfect as a throuple. This book is so so good and you definitely don’t want to miss it.
This book was a contemporary sports romance, featuring a polyamorous romance and the FMC is based loosely off of Ilona Maher! While you can see the initial resemblance to Ilona and how she's all for body positivity and that anyone can be feminine and strong, that's about where the similarities end; so no worries that it's like a mimic of the person herself. The book is all about Robyn (the FMC) harboring unrequited love for two different guys (Dell & Isaiah) and eventually finding love with BOTH of them and navigating that new relationship in a very media focused world. Since all three of the characters in this book are famous in their own rights, they all face scrutiny when their relationship comes to light. Not only does Ilona have her own parents to face off against, but she has the outside world very interested in what she does and who she does it with. Dell & Isaiah both have potential issues, but if things go poorly it could affect Robyn's career more. Obviously, since this is a romance book, there's a HEA. But the beginning of the book seemed to go very slowly and dragged a bit to get to a point where the throuple is actually together. Since the build up took so long, it was kind of a slower read since at first it was a lot of back and forth and missed opportunities. But once all three (eventually ... Isaiah is a freaking martyr) are together and the smutty action kicks up, it was much easier to make it through the book! It's cute as far as sports romances go, and I would recommend this one if you're into polyamory and a book loosely based off of Ilona.
I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't feel like Dell, Isaiah, & Robyn made much sense as a throuple. I liked Dell & Isaiah one on one, as well as Dell & Robyn one on one, AND Isaiah & Robyn one on one. But when it came to their dynamic all together, I wasn't a fan. It didn't seem organic or authentic. And the characters mention in their internal dialogue that during their times as a group, they forget one of the other members is even there. That's not really a good sign in my book for the longevity of the throuple. The spice for this book was also kind of lacking. There were one too many kinks that were only touched on and not given much thought after an initial passing. The author seemed to be trying to cover a lot of different spice aspects instead of just committing to one. Because of all the different kinks thrown into the ring, it muddied things up a bit and the smut seemed vague as a result. 2/5 on the spice scale for me personally.
I was so fortunate to receive an ARC copy of this book!
I absolutely adored Every Version of You so when I saw that another of the Johanssen siblings was getting their own story I was so excited! Whilst some characters do make an appearance you don’t need to read Every Version of You but I highly recommend it just because it’s a great time.
When the ARC copy of Every Move You Make landed in my emails I was so excited!
I adored the family dynamics in Angie & Raf’s book and was so happy that was translated again into Isaiah’s story. Right from the start the chemistry between Dell, Robyn and Isaiah was so strong, Dell is such a loveable flirt and I completely understand why neither of them could resist him.
I loved all three MC’s. I’m going to need more books with female Rugby teams though, I adored the teams dynamic and wanted even more of it! I was however horrified by Isaiah’s handling of the Guinness. It may be unforgivable!
There was really love representation of their dynamic all the way throughout, the constant communication even during intimate moments. Without giving too much away the spicy phone call was such a wonderful moment to witness boundaries being put in place without it disrupting the flow and all of the parties being respectful and caring towards one another whilst keeping the sexiness of the scene. Spencer pays attention to little details that often get overlooked and I really appreciated the layer that adds to the characters interactions and relationships.
I really loved getting to see their relationship work from all sides, we get to experience moments of them all together but also moments of just Dell & Robyn, Robyn & Isaiah and Dell & Isaiah.
This whole story was just a whirlwind of joy. I had so many kicking my feet at the cuteness moments and I already had high hopes for the spicier scenes after Every Version of You and Spencer did not let me down. Overall this was a great read, it was wholesome, spicy and just left me feeling all warm and fuzzy!
Robyn is a professional rugby player who has had a crush on her friend Isaiah for years but life kept getting in the way, so she never got to tell him how she felt. She accepts help in the form of flirting lessons from her personal trainer, Dell, but it turns out they have a crush on the same man! So, Dell takes a chance on them and tries to get all three of them together. Since Isaiah is Robyn's coach and Dell and Robyn are social media celebrities, the true difficulty is figuring out how to balance their new polyamorous relationship and their careers. I really loved how Robyn was confident in her femininity and used her social media platforms to encourage others. All three main characters were lovable, and I was hooked from the start. However, I felt that it got resolved a little too quickly and we didn’t get to see them navigate the challenges they ran into and how that affected their relationship. I would have loved another chapter or two for that. We really got to see Robyn and Isaiah’s friendship develop over the years in the flashbacks and then the different POVs showed us their developing relationships with Dell. Also, seeing how the community supported their love and how they battled for their happiness was soo amazing.
✨My Thoughts This book was everything I needed in a spicy romantic comedy. This book truly didn't disappoint. I loved every moment. Robyn was a great FMC. The rugby team she plays on is everything. I seriously want to be friends with all of them. The growth with all the characters was so good. This book is spicy and kinky. I loved every second of it. I loved seeing other characters from previous books. I think everything flowed so well. I am excited to see if we get more in this rugby world. I can't recommend this one enough for those who love a spicy why choose but still want romcom vibes.
Every Move You Make is book 2 in The Rugby Lovers Series. This book is recommended for 18+. As always please check TW before reading. This book is out now!
I want to thank Sloan for an E-ARC of this book. These are my own true thoughts
This was an ARC copy that came to me from the author through HappilyBooked. I wouldn't normally "go" for these new version cartoon covers, I just don't like them. So isn't it great I didn't see this cover before reading the book! This book that I totally loved!
So many sparks between our characters! The three of them and their feelings absolutely dominate the pages.
And the other thing about this story, is there's a book before it!! Now I need to check that out.
If you're not into MM/MMF/ then this probably isn't the book for you. Our characters and their friends are openly Bi, gay, lesbian and entirely gappy with it, their families for the most part, (there's a bit of a grey area with Robyn's folks) accept their children and their friends/lovers as they are. I just loved the family dynamic, and that everyone for the most part was accepted. Fantastic story , with so much heart!!
I was blessed to receive an ARC copy of every move you make, and am so grateful for the opportunity!
I absolutely adore the way Sloan writes her characters, they are real, raw, and at times messy.
I loved the flash backs for Isiah and Robyn, and getting to experience their past, while getting to experience their developing relationships with Dell. And seeing the way their individual’s personalities interact to form their beautiful dynamic.
I also love the family dynamics of the Johansson family, and the chaos is so Reminiscent of my own, it feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket. I love how this has come across in this book as well as every version of you!
I think I say this about every new Sloan Spencer book, but this might be my new favorite!
This is not my first go-round with miss Sloan Spencer. Last year I read her Structural duet and was hooked! It should come as a surprise to no one that this book hooked me as well (and was my first rugby romance!!). Plus we all know I love an MMF romance. This book checks a lot of boxes for me. 🥰
Robyn, Isaiah and Dell are an adorable little throuple who understand the importance of love and support through thick and thin. Robyn was an absolute stunner, and is the type of body positive role model I wish I had growing up. Isaiah is the protective grump with the sweetest of hearts. And Dell is the easy-going thirst trapper, who’s got some serious daddy dom vibes. These three fit together so perfectly, it was beautiful to read!
This is my first book by Sloan Spencer, and I had such a fun time reading this book! I love books with strong female main characters, and Robyn is just that! She was a professional female athlete as well as a champion of women on social media. This book is a sports romance, and Why-choose polyamorous relationship is what drew me into this book, and it did not disappoint. I loved the spicy support for each other, family support, dating lessons, and the little taboo nature of all of their relationships! These MCs were beautifully written, and I loved Dell's Daddy Dom nature. Isaiah was ready to Sub for him in an instant! My only issue is that it went from them being friends to starting a relationship and immediately saying I love you seems really fast, and I would have liked to see them develop their feelings more on the page together, for the "L" word was used. But overall, this book was fun, flirty, and full of love and dirty-talking spice, and I would recommend you pick up this book.
This throuple stole my heart! I was obsessed with every single deliciously awkward, tension-filled moment of Isaiah and Robyn’s love story. Isaiah is the ultimate book boyfriend—strong, broody, secretly so soft. Robyn is this fierce, talented (pro!) rugby player who can take down opponents with ease but turns into a mushy pile of goo when it comes to her men.
And then there’s sweet, charming, utterly chaotic Dell. whose **flirt coaching** turns into one of the most hilariously complicated love triangles I’ve ever read. Watching these three navigate their tangled feelings had me cackling one minute and clutching my heart the next.
And let’s not forget the spice! The tension was palpable, the chemistry was off the charts, and the payoff was absolutely worth it.
If you love friends-to-lovers, why choose, and heroes who praise like it’s their full-time job, this book is your next obsession.
This was such an enjoyable read! I fell in love with each character and their interactions with one another were so sweet, funny, and quite hot (I mean dang Dell!).
I appreciated how thoughtful and considerate each of the three were towards each other, especially when dealing with their issues. I thought there was a good balance between story and spice, and I think the big conflict was done well.
I loved Spencer's writing, especially the humor throughout, and I can't wait to read more. I highly recommend this book and I'm excited to read the rest of the series.
Really loved this. It felt really long. Dell was such a great character. Godddd. Amazing spice. Not reading this one for the rugby.
Content & trigger warnings: anal, assault, cuckolding, daddy kink, death of a loved one (mentioned, past), degradation, double vaginal penetration, exhibitionism, threesomes, toxic family relationship, power play dynamics, stalking
When I first picked up this book, I was so excited to read it. It delivers the happily-ever-after that America’s favorite female rugby player deserves, and there are plenty of sweet and adorable moments between the characters.
That said, I felt like there were just too many plot points packed into the story—almost too many HEAs.
Spoilers Ahead:
Robyn, Isaiah, and Dell were incredibly sweet together, and the spicy scenes were well-written and well-executed. However, the sheer number of tropes and plotlines made the story feel overwhelming rather than engaging.
Just to name a few: virgin hero, secret relationship, porn star, grumpy/sunshine, love from afar, secret polyamory, sports romance, wanting kids, marriage, cuckold, and Daddy kink. It felt like the book was trying to do too much at once.
Robyn and Dell were my favorite characters because they stayed true to themselves throughout the book. Isaiah, on the other hand, was my least favorite. His personality shifts—from being a grumpy, borderline stalker and a terrible coach to suddenly transforming into someone completely different—felt too abrupt and jarring. I understand that his character was meant to go through a transformation, but instead of making me root for him, it just made him less likable.
Ultimately, this book just wasn’t for me. But I’m happy that Robyn (Ilona) got her HEA—she absolutely deserves it!
Robyn and Isaiah have been friends for years, and now Dell is their trainer. He wants more from his clients than he should, and rules are meant to be broken.
Pros: MM? Yes. FMC with big Ilona energy? Yes. Daddy? Yes. I mean this book has it all! It was funny and sweet and SO HOT! What I loved most was how beautifully the characters loved one another. It was so genuine and they loved with their whole hearts.
Cons: I don't love DP. That is just a me thing. I can't wrap my head around it and it distracts me. I don't understand the physics of it.
Tropes: Friends to lovers, MMF, Coach/player/trainer, rugby, Daddy/sub
Trigger warnings: loss of a parent, body shaming
I received and advanced copy from the publisher, all opinions in this review are my own.
Thank you to the author for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Like many people I discovered rugby through social media and players like Ilona Maher. When I saw this author promoting a rugby romance I jumped at the chance to join the ARC team. When it comes to sports romances I tend to stick with hockey and baseball romances, so I couldn’t wait to learn some new sports terms and get a sneak peak at what life as a player or coach might be like.
If you’re newer to the sport of rugby like I am, I don’t want you to feel overwhelmed by the plethora of rugby terminology. There’s a very helpful glossary in the beginning of the novel, and honestly in context a lot of the new terms made sense regardless.
This romance is adorable, quirky, sweet, spicy, silly, and at times pulls at your heartstrings. I spent most of my time reading this novel with a huge smile on my face, even laughing out loud at a few different scenes due to our characters silly banter and antics on and off the field. Robyn is a women’s rugby player who is rising to celebrity status due to her social media presence. Isaiah was a professional men’s rugby player who met Robyn while they were both in college, and is about to become her newest coach after he sustains a career ending injury. Dell is their personal trainer who may or may not be in love with both of them, despite his steadfast rule to never date his clients.
Through different chapter POV’s, and even some flashbacks, we get to go back in time and watch Isaiah and Robyn meet through their college teams. We also get to see a flashback of how Dell and Robyn met before he became her personal trainer. I loved these additional layers to their stories that truly laid the foundation beautifully for the epic love story that eventually culminates in the present.
While all three characters are out and comfortable with their sexuality, none of them had ever entered into a polyamorous relationship before. They each had to consider how their love life would affect each of their careers as well as their personal lives, before deciding to go public. There was great lgbtqia+ representation in this book, including another throuple (mentioned but never physically introduced), a handful of additional lesbian characters, and of course bi representation via our two main male characters Dell and Isaiah.
In addition to great queer diversity Isaiah also speaks to our characters in Spanish a few times, with full sentences being translated to both Spanish and English throughout the novel. We met the families of all three of our main characters which again added a lot of depth and dimension to who they were and informed how they interacted with others.
Robyn is known for her body positivity online, with her strong physical features and her willingness to express her femininity through clothes and makeup. Unfortunately her parents continuously tear her down in what they believe are misguided attempts to build her up. Dell’s family are extremely welcoming, with a few major secrets of their own, while Isaiah’s family was torn apart by his mother’s death when he was a child.
While a majority of this novel is light and entertaining, there are understandable undercurrents of grief as Isaiah deals with his mother’s death. There are also discussions regarding revenge porn, and verbal abuse from parents as we get to know these characters on a deeper level. Aside from the major inciting incident and resulting conflict in the third act, I had a ton of fun with this book and these three characters. This was a sweet (but please don’t forget…spicy) story that I could see a ton of readers enjoying. Whether they’re fans of rugby, or simply fans of polyamorous romances, this book has a little something for everyone.
I have an empty feeling in my heart and I sigh when I think about the last couple of days, I feel like the time has gone by too fast. I think I’m suffering from a massive book hangover, because oh my fudging god, this book was so amazing 🥹 (but I didn’t doubt it for a moment after reading all of Sloan Spencer’s other books).
From the very first pages, I felt the same sensations I had when reading , that feeling of knowing that a book will make you laugh, cry, swoon, fall in love with the main characters and never want to leave them. Robyn, Isaiah and Dell are truly lovable characters.
The book covers a very wide range of topics. I found it very interesting to follow the construction of the polycule that Robyn, Dell and Isaiah form. I felt it was very natural from the moment they accepted each other’s feelings.
I was also impressed by the variety of bodies in this book in general, but especially by Robyn’s. She has a physique that is different from what society thinks the female body should be and yet, despite her own doubts—thank you, Mom—she doesn’t hesitate to spread values of self-acceptance through social networks and that is both brave and inspiring.
There’s one other topic that really resonated with me, and that’s Isaiah’s demisexuality. Being on the asexuality spectrum myself, I always feel more represented when I read a book where one of the characters is also on that spectrum. Thankfully, there are more and more books with ace/aro characters, but it’s still the exception. Here, Isaiah is extremely comfortable with his sexuality, both in being biromantic and demisexual. While asexuality is a sexual orientation that is becoming more known, I personally still get a lot of misunderstanding when I talk about it, so it warms my heart to see that Isaiah is accepted by both his family and his polycule without having to explain himself—a little thought for Jonah’s obliviousness though 🤣
As for rugby, as a European, I grew up watching rugby and even played a bit of it in school—for once, being fat was an advantage in a sport, as no one could tackle me 😂—and it made me happy to rediscover the sport through this book, even though it’s been far too long since I’ve watched any—note to self: watch the Six Nations Championship. At least I understood more things than I do in sports romance books about American football—I have nothing against those books, I love many of them, it’s just that the rules of American football are beyond my comprehension 😅
I think you’ll have gathered by now that I loved reading Every Move You Make and wouldn’t mind a brief bout of amnesia to rediscover it as if for the first time. I’ll now wait as patiently as possible for the next book in the series.
Thanks to Sloan Spencer and Happily Booked PR for giving me the opportunity to receive an ARC of Every Move You Make. This review is my own. All opinions expressed are mine.
Sloan Spencer is one of the best Friends x Lover romance writers out there!
Last month I read “Every Version of You”Book 1 in The Rugby Lovers Series for @. And I LOVED it, so I was excited and honored to be part of the ARC team for Book 2 “Every Move You Make. What made my experience so cool is that I got to learn so much about Rugby through this book and while reading I got to watch a bit of Six Nations Rugby Champion. So I’m officially in my Rugby Girl Era and loving it😉!
Isaiah and Robyn have been friends since their love of Rugby brought them together in college. There’s always been some tension and longing in their relationship but it was always the right person wrong time. When Isaiah suffers a career-ending injury not only does he get the opportunity to get back into Robyn’s life, but also to have a romance with his sexy and sweet personal trainer Dell who just so happens to be Robyn’s trainer and long-time crush too! Resulting in the 3 beginning a journey of love, self-acceptance, and rugby!
This book was incredible! I loved these characters who felt real and vulnerable. But what really makes this book amazing for me was the representation of professional female athletes.
This was the first romance book I read where the FMC is a professional athlete. And has someone who is not athletic I was worried I would not be able to relate to Robyn but that could not have been further from the truth. I deeply related to Robyn but particularly her experience of trying to find confidence while dealing with the balance of being both in a strong/bigger body and wanting to be feminine and girly is such a real struggle for so many women including myself. I’m so happy that not only did I get to meet a great character like Robyn but my world has opened up to reading more books about female athletes.
As mentioned in my previous Rugby Lovers Review and at the top of this post, I love love love Spencer’s ability to write friends-to-lovers! And this book was so interesting since you really got to see how Robyn and Isaiah’s friendship developed over time. I adored the early stages of Isaiah’s and Dells friendship when they bonded over their love of true crime podcasts! But truly, Spencer’s books have brought me such much joy as friends-to-lovers girlie!
This book I would recommend for fans of Rugby, Friends-to-Lovers, Ted Lasso, Ilona Maher, and gym bros who post thirst traps 😂
5/5 ⭐️ 4.5/5 🌶

My thoughts while reading: 🚨ALERT SPOILERS AHEAD🚨
YESSSSSS I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!! I loved the first book so much!
“And before you ask, they’re not brothers. They’re boyfriends. LOL Dell’s cats being boyfriends, I love this
“I’m also sending you a couple new dark romance book recs. There’s this one about a woman falling in love with her home security system, only to find out it’s monitored and voiced by a real man and not artificial intelligence.”Wait a minute- I need to read this!
Stop it ahahahah Robyn is pop-lock-and dropping it rn this is amazing Even thinking about doing that is making my knees hurt
VIRGIN!? Xknsksoxhnskxjsjszzjz the way my jaw is on the FLOOR
I just love them so much!!
“Isaiah’s eyes find mine, and if I could bottle this moment and save it forever, I would. And whenever I would need a little pick-me-up, I’d open the bottle and take a long whiff. I’d dab the memory behind my ears and on my wrists and remember the way his rare smile seeps into my soul. I’d remember the scents of ocean and sunscreen; of heavy rain and the grippy texture and smell of a leather rugby ball. I’d remember the way he’s looking at me, like he’s missed this version of us, too. Like even if our relationship right now is defined by we can’t and think of your image, we will still have this. We’ll always have ocean-side rugby in the rain. 🥰😭🥰😭🥰😭🥰
Idc, baby is the BEST pet name (other than princess) and it will always hit in a romance for me!
They love each other 🥰💖🥰🥰💖🥰
OOP DADDY GOT UNLEASHED!
Isaiah reading his mom’s journal is making me cry so much this is so beautiful! 💕🥰
Isaiah praising the team is so 😭😭💖💖
I didn’t report back between then ^ and finishing the book bc I flew through it and also bc it completely wrecked me!!!!! Sloan did it again. I have loved every book I’ve read from her and this is no different!
Truly a slow burn book because we can confidently say that there was years of pinning between two of the characters. This book honestly was the best friends to lovers books I have read as all the parties involved in the relationship where originally friends. Also what a great love triangle to lovers book because it actually depicts true relationships goals and boundaries since it talks about what the parties members actually want out the relationship without forcing anyone into anything.
I really loved Robyn as she is one of the best female characters I have read because she show true emotion as she struggles with her body image alongside the relationship with her parents and more importantly her mom. I think it is something that will stick out to a lot of women because sometimes we fell powerless but like Robyn eventually we resists that urge and actually stick up for ourselves. She is also a strong female presence who show us no matter what body time we look or who we are we can always dress feminine or maybe hey we don’t need to like her teammates.
Dell and Isaiah where sweet. Dell was the perfect amount of dom while letting Robyn speak her own mind. Also the way Dell wanted to get married and thought it was right to do it at someone else’s wedding was beyond me but hey I was here for Robyn in a wedding dress. Maybe we need a bonus chapter about their wedding and more on their children. Just a thought. Isaiah and Robyn’s relationship boy what round they have been one but I liked how it centred on one theme and that being rugby because it is such an underrated sport.
I found the accompanying playlist easy to navigate and loved the song choice of TEXAS HOLD ‘EM by Beyoncé fitting.
I also left that it paired well with Sloan’s other book Every Version of You perfectly while also wallowing this book to stand out on its own. So no, you do not need to read Every Version of You before this but I would recommend because it was so good.
5/5 stars Thank you Sloan for sending me my second the arc because I continue to love your work.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It’s no secret that why choose is my favourite trope so it also makes sense why I can’t choose a single moment I loved more than the rest in this spicy, hilarious love story!
Every character was uniquely different, beautiful and flawed. Isiah in particular was so vulnerable he made my heart hurt with his journey of love! Watching him crack open and expose his gooey centre was worth all the angst and I forgave him for all the low key stalking behaviour!
Robyn, being a bad ass rugby player and a princess at the same time. Overcoming her parents ideal version of herself to really raise from the ashes less like a robin and more like a phoenix to be her true self. Get it girl! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Daddy Dell and dat ass. I don’t need to say much more about him. He’s 11/10 and we love you!
In terms of a sports romance, I loved the uniqueness of this storyline. It’s all puck this and puck that (love it. Can’t get enough of it!) but a different sport definitely delivered different energy! I loved the diversity and inclusion of genders in the characters in this story and there’s definitely a few characters that deserve their own story! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
“Once I’ve safely rounded the corner of the building and I’m out of his range, I close my hand around his kiss and slip it into my pocket.
“She kisses like the woman who is unknowingly going to break my heart.
“You’re just mine
“It’s like I’m witnessing a chemistry experiment go exceptionally, terrifically right.
“None of us should be doing what we’re doing, but it feels so good to be bad, doesn’t it?
“I’m just runnin on instinct with you.
“I’ve never seen a sunrise with someone as beautiful.
“Never would I have thought burning alive could be so pleasurable
“I love you guys. Good game. To my amusement, both of them smile and tap each other’s asses, then mine, and repeat the quintessential phrase of every good sport. “Good game. “Good game, buddy.

Hold onto your rugby balls—Every Move You Make by Sloan Spencer is a wild ride that had me kicking my feet and blushing like a schoolgirl!
My obsession with US rugby player Ilona Maher led me to seek a book featuring a strong and gorgeous woman who embraces her power and femininity, and I found that in Robyn. Add in the delicious bear-sized Isaiah and the cocksure Dell, with a charm that won’t quit, and I’m absolutely O-B-SESSED!
Picture this: a friends-to-lovers romance tangled in sporty shenanigans and sizzling chemistry. Robyn, our fearless rugby star, has been trying to get Isaiah’s attention for ages, only to find her plans hijacked by the irresistible flirt, Dell, who steps in as her “flirt coach. Talk about a love triangle hotter than a scrum!
Sloan’s knack for crafting vibrant characters shines as we navigate the twists and turns of their relationships. Robyn’s confidence and vulnerabilities, Isaiah’s brooding charm, and Dell’s playful banter create a recipe for romance that’s equal parts steamy and sweet.
What sets this story apart is its bold exploration of kink, power dynamics, and cuckolding. Spencer masterfully weaves these elements into the narrative, ensuring they’re not just steamy but also rooted in enthusiastic consent and mutual respect. The characters check in with one another, honoring their desires and boundaries, creating a dynamic that feels both thrilling and tender. It's a refreshing take that showcases intimacy built on trust.
The book isn’t just a romance; it’s a celebration of teamwork and friendship. With laugh-out-loud moments and heart-melting connections, this story left me warm, fuzzy, and ready for a rugby match of my own!
Set your alarms for February 12th, because you won’t want to miss this gem hitting Amazon! Trust me, your TBR pile will thank you.
Thank you to Sloan and Happily Booked PR for the chance to read and review the ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
