I grew up on a cattle ranch in Wyoming
where I was home-schooled through eighth
grade and my rapport with animals was nourished. I owned and rode horses from
the time I was seven years old. My talent
for writing and art developed very early as did my awareness that I would be a writer.

Since we were so isolated, I found great
solace in books. My mother drove to the
nearest town every week so sell eggs and
dressed poultry which gave me the chance
to visit the library for a large stack of
books to entertain me until the next trip.
When I wasn't doing my lessons or reading,
I rode my favorite horse Jill through the
pastures of adjoining ranches.

After graduation from high school in Gillette, I decided to study journalism
at Casper College where I was the first
and only student to be awarded the editorship of the college newspaper and
a full scholarship. While at the University of Wyoming, I began selling
short stories to national magazines and
announced to myself and everyone else
that I was going to write a novel.

No one look me seriously but I set to
work and after five years of innumerable
drafts and hundreds of rejection slips
from potential publishers, I sold my
first suspense novel BLACK SABBAT in l979. After this initial success, I signed with an agent sold three more
suspense novels - GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE in 1981, and THE ORANGE UNICORN and WHERE THE HEART IS in l984 while also
raising Arabian show horses.

Then the bottom dropped out of the publishing industry and my agent died. Stymied by the lack of further sales,
I divorced my husband and accepted a
position in advertising sales in Minnesota where I spent the next fifteen
years in a haze as a 'highly functioning' alcoholic. I suffered
through four unsuccessful rehabs before
the fifth stuck. I remarried and watched
my husband die of bone cancer. During
all these years, I continued to write,
polishing my craft.

After marrying my present husband, Adam,
we moved back to the West. By this time, I had several viable novel manuscripts and was ready to market my
work. A friend suggested I try the new
phenomena of self-publishing. I was
reluctant because in my past experience, books were only self-published by writers without enough talent to sell their work.

After much research, I realized my pre-
conceptions were wrong and now I have
two new suspense novels on the market
and sales are steady.

A beautifully haunting romantic suspense set within an equestrian backdrop

Radbourne Arabians is a horse ranch that’s shrouded in sinister secrets and archaic mystery. It is Katie’s inheritance and the key to unlocking past memories, which have played as nightmares within her mind for so long. Francine Chamberlain {her grandmother} is dying, and so summoned to her side Katie returns to her home out of curiosity and a sense of duty. Her encounter with the Foreman Jeremy causes sparks to fly, as they are drawn intimately together within this intricately woven tale of closure and new beginnings.

Exquisitely evocative and seeped in rich detail, the past overlies the present in such a clever way as to enthral and intrigue. It is ironic how we must look back to move forwards; as in the case of Katie and her attachment to such a gothic romantic ancestral home filled with memory and pain. Picturing Jeremy in riding breeches made me instantly think of Flambards, however as the mystery surrounding Mrs. Chamberlaine unfolded I felt like I had plunged headfirst into an Agatha Christie! The combination of atmospheric ambience and personal touches that evoke feelings of longing within, makes this sublime story something quite compelling to read. I literally could not put this profoundly poignant novel down…and so I highly commend the author for her evident deftness at putting words onto paper.

As the characters grew and developed throughout the tale, I could not help but become entangled within such a layered story. Thought-provoking and full of heartrending resonance Ten Hours Til Spring is a masterful piece of literary magnificence.

I would like to thank Jeannie Hudson for sending me a copy of her novel to read + plus her other work.

I won this book in a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ giveaway. I received it along with a nice note from the author. The book was slightly too long but very interesting. The characters made you feel for them and were very likable. The mystery of Katie's banishment was solved early in the 2nd half but there was enough going on in everyone's lives to keep your interest. There were a few minor paranormal incidents but this wasn't a ghost story. It just added a new dimension to the story. I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes to become immersed in a story.

For me this novel started slowly, building a web of mystery and ramping up the intrigue, however, it also developed wonderfully. The story follows a rough terrain, but has warm and satisfying undertones throughout. There are some challenging, spiritual and dark elements dotted within, but every moment of foreboding is wrapped up in a warm glow. The story follows a tumultuous path that keeps the reader hooked and whilst the 'fairytale' outcome is predictable there are some expertly placed anomalies along the way to add suspense and drama. A very enjoyable read.

This is a nice love story with family complications that I found confusing toward the end. I think I had it sorted out but a family tree would have actually been helpful. However, that would have spoiled the big surprise about the twins. I felt the last part regarding the twins was fairytale-like. It was unnecessarily cruel of Francine to put Katie through such agony and childish to hide information in the cabin. I would have liked that part re-written. Otherwise it was an enjoyable tale.

Extremely well-written story of family and the turns life takes. You don't have to live in Wyoming or appreciate horses to understand the themes if this book - they are universal. This author is becoming known for her ability to craft tales that enthrall readers and leave them spellbound til the last page. That certainly holds true with her latest.

I received this book free from the author through Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. I was disappointed that more emphasis wasn't spent on the "mystery." I also was bored during parts of the book; however, horse lovers would probably enjoy the parts that I found boring. I know this was an "uncorrected" copy and I overlooked grammer, spelling and spacing errors but I could not overlook a familial relationship error that was glaringly wrong. I liked most of the characters, though I thought Katie and her grandmother's relationship resolved too quickly as did Katie's and Jeremy's. I loved Becca!! She was adorable! Janel should have been developed more. My opinions, of course.

Ten Hours 'Til Spring is a wonderfully written story. It made me happy at times and so sad at others. I had no problem getting involved with the characters and just had to keep on reading even at the bad times so I could see how it worked out. Great story...many different aspects to the characters and their interaction.

Received this uncorrected copy through the good-reads program and really enjoyed it in spite of the many errors I found. Most of them were minor and hopefully the editor or proofreader or whomever fixed them before the final publishing. If not, let me know and I will read the book again and give you page numbers. Thanks for allowing me to read the book.

I received a copy of this book in a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ giveaway, and so glad I did! I couldn't put it down after about the first quarter of the book and read most of it in a weekend. I enjoyed the characters and that there wasn't just one thread of a storyline but many, weaving an enthralling tale.

There was a bit of everything; not too heavy on the religion or supernatural, a nice romance, mystery and some very interesting characters. I will note though that "Aunt Katie" should actually be the niece of the twins, not the aunt.
