A Tempest of Thieves is the second book in the Tempest of Shadows series and should be read in order.

I love how the series is carrying on with the Robin Hood retelling theme!
The details and the descriptions that weaved this fascinating world to life were incredible. It’s impossible to not love this story; one thing I can say is unique about Davies’s type of writing is the way she engages the readers into wanting to be a part of the story. There is nothing more gratifying than reading a book and feeling like you know everybody, not all writers have that power.

I really liked Ellery and connected with her in this one which I’m glad about as in the last book, I wasn’t able to. I felt a lot of sympathy towards Ellery concerning her mother and her estate. I also really enjoyed seeing her take responsibility for her actions (instead of just feeling guilty) and proving herself worthy.

Not surprisingly, I still absolutely love Ryker. However, both him and Ellery annoyed me a lot in the beginning. Which I guess shows Davies has put a lot of fundamentals towards these characters including making them have flaws.

Ryker and Tucker’s friendship continued to be something I loved in this book. The little sprinkles of humour throughout this story lightened the dark and action-filled moments.

I was very pleased that some of my predictions were right. There was certainly some twists that I did not see coming!! It did feel like the writing was a bit repetitive the first quarter of the book though.

There wasn’t a lot of heat in this book, but when it was there, it more than made up for it!

A Tempest of Thieves will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride filled with secrets, angst, and delicious sugary spiciness in this slow-burn, fairy-tale like romance between Ryker Locke and Ellery Marian. Bravo Brenda K. Davies on another successful book...

Just when you didn’t think things could get more nail biting!!!
Ryker and Ellery there really is a fine line between love and hate, it will be interesting to see which one wins this series especially when roadblocks, misunderstandings and emotional bombs are doing everything to thwart love, it might be easier to give up and let hate win But honestly where is the fun in that.
I am loving the world building and character development in this series, I am hanging out for Ryker to end his father for good but I know I have to be patient lol.
I’m really enjoying the setting of the revenant woods the descriptive writing brings it all to life in my head.
While I’m generally not a fan of cliffhanger endings they suit this series a lot Ming you I’d have longer fingernails if there weren’t so many nail biting moments lol.
I have to say the entire shadow realms series would make an excellent tv show.
Now to let my fingernails grow before book 3 comes out.

I can say without a doubt that I am loving this new spin off series from Brenda K Davies.
This is a reimagined version of Robin Hood, only Ellery, the FMC, is Robin and everyone is an immortal with elemental powers.
In book one, A Tempest of Shadows, we met Ryker again and Ellery, their relationship and learn what they have been through and need to overcome. We meet a few of the side characters that are a part of their journey and the battles to come. Some of the side characters are not included until the next book.
A Tempest of Thieves, book 2, we meet some of the characters again and more action. With the side characters resurfacing it helps provide that Robin Hood Prince of thieves feel to the book. One of my favorites, Lil John, which is Ianto the giant. The gentle giant of a man that protects those who cannot protect themselves.
We also finally get more of Ryker and Ellery’s relationship and hardship they go through. The mistrust and lack of communication with Ellery’s secrets exposed to ones that can be trusted with them. Ryker battles with himself when it comes to understanding why Ellery lied and misled him through it all.
Without saying much or giving away any spoilers, all I can say is that if you have not picked up Book 1, you need to like yesterday. Since book three is in the works.. I cannot wait for the next book.

A Tempest of Thieves is the second book in the Tempest of Shadows series and OMG was this exciting! I was entranced from page 1 and couldn't stop reading. This book had you on an emotional journey filled with secrets, romance, spiciness and angst.

Ryker and Ellery have obstacles to overcome and just when they think they have a break something else happens. They have to learn to navigate through the secrets and betrayal to come out the other end stronger. The only question will be is if their love for each is strong enough or will it crumble and they give up on each other. I can't wait for book 3 to find out more of their story. I highly recommend this series or even starting from the beginning with the Shadow Realm series.

This book 100% ripped my heart to shreds. The back and forth between Ryker and Ellery is enough to drive a saint to drink. There were many times I wanted to throttle them both for their stubbornness and pride. Miss Brenda, ma'am, that ending killed me you evil genius. Please tell me it all works out in the end? I'm eagerly anticipating the next book!!This book 100% ripped my heart to shreds. The back and forth between Ryker and Ellery is enough to drive a saint to drink. A tempest of thieves is the second book in the series you should read a tempest of shadows first.

Brenda K Davies is an amazing author she really knows how to suck you into the story and make you feel like you’re actually a part of it. I really enjoyed this book I love Ryker and Ellery in this book you see Ellery take responsibility for her actions. It was so easy to follow along with the characters on the twist this book takes. I had a hard time putting the book down I wanted to know more about the characters in this story. This book has everything your looking for great characters amazing story building and is a Robin Hood retelling but much better and a lot spicier. I promise this is not a series you wanna skip.

This book was finished in one day. I could not put it down. Hello 5:30 am 🤣. Ryker and Ellery’s relationship
being put to the test is an understatement. All Ellery ever wanted was to help the people of Tempest.
Now her mom is being held prisoner and she is on a quest to save her and their manor. She cannot figure out how to do that without Ryker’s help. The path to find Ryker and convince him was definitely interesting.

The writing was outstanding as were the narrators. I felt every emotion these two went through. Brenda K. Davies keeps us on the edge of our seat wondering what will happen next. When you think this story will go one way, it doesn’t. The world’s she creates and lays out before us are so unique.

That’s the beauty of her writing.

As always with Brenda K. Davies books it just draws you in from the start, and keeps on going. Every Book, every series puts you on an emotional rollercoaster. Her well developed character’s, brilliant world building, descriptive actions, and the fantastic creativity, and imagination always leaves you waiting for the next book.

The continuation of Ryker, and Ellery’s story has it all. The Love, Hate, Betrayal, and Secrets between them is overwhelming.
Will Ellery trust Ryker enough to seek his help to free her mom, and the Amsirah people of Tempest from the oppressors lead by the King, and Rykers father that has them trapped in the Realm.

Where does one begin with this amazing story filled with twists and turns?! Tempest of Shadows left us feeling the lowest of lows when Ellery made the tough choice of rejecting Ryker to protect her family. In Tempest of Thieves, she finally turns to Tucker for help only to discover that things are worse than she imagined. All hope of reconciliation dashed, they struggle through tense, unbearable interactions. Moments of levity poke through at times, but stubbornness and uncertainty are the prevailing theme of each day. Will they continue to hate each other or will they reconcile? You’ll just have to read to find out but know there’s a shocking twist none of us could’ve seen coming!

Couldn’t put this book down

I read this book faster than the first one. Had to go back and reread it in case I missed something, it was a page-turner. I will say I have never wanted to smack someone upside the head as much as I do Ryker though. LOL. I love Ellery and her love for her mother and the people. I can relate with her. Oh and another special character being brought into the story with a huge heart for children. I’m loving it!!! So much went on in the book with Ellery’s training and Ryker’s stubbornness that I can’t give too much away. You must read it for yourself. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I’m looking forward to the next book!!!

All I can say is WOW!! Brenda definitely doesn’t disappoint. She keeps the suspense, romance, stubbornness and surprises popping up on every page. Ellery and Ryker continue their love/hate relationship. This just makes you want to jump in the book and slap Ryker upside the head. Also, Ryker comes up with a scheme against the Aristocrats in Realm, but will it be successful or turn into a tragedy. Be prepared for a major revelation that will leave your mouth hanging open!!

The Audiobook is also AMAZING. Meg Price again does not disappoint. I continue to be amazed by how she brings voices to the characters. I have listened to other narrators and Meg Price is by far, THE BEST!!!

Loved the book, and love that we still get Ellery AND Rykers POV. It’s nice to see the thoughts and feelings of BOTH characters along the way, especially with everything they are dealing with personally on top of the main issues within the realm. I think Brenda does a great job of writing the characters in a way that is realistic and relatable. I cannot wait for the next book, I am so excited(and nervous after that ending) to find out what happens with Ryker and Ellery and how they’ll get themselves, and everyone else, out of the mess the king and Rykers father have made.

This book was even better than the last one. I knew I would love it but I was not expecting it to be that good! The character development, the action, the angst, it was all perfect. Ryker and Ellery have so much to figure out and they also have to defend their realm. It’s a lot of pressure especially with their personal stuff but they’re warriors. They don’t give up on themselves or each other.

It does end on a cliffhanger so I’m “patiently awaiting the next book. You will love this chapter of their story! Get it today!

Great Story

I have to say this story pulled at my heart strings because you can understand how trust has been broken but you also understand why Ellery did what she did. Ryker’s father is a true monster that cares only about more power. He and the king are crushing the people of Tempest and not even allowing them to leave. Ellery and Ryker resolve to fight for the people.
They repair much of their relationship along the way but the ending was a shocker. Great side characters as always to enrich the story. Can’t wait for the next one.

If you love your romance with sizzling tension and high-stakes danger, A Tempest of Thieves is the perfect read. Ryker and Ellery are explosive. Seriously, these two have major unfinished business!

Ryker hates her (or at least thinks he does), but their fiery history comes roaring back when Ellery shows up begging for his help to save her mother.

With secrets, betrayal, and all the delicious angst of an enemies-to-lovers romance, this book will keep you hooked from start to finish. It's emotional, steamy, and packed with heart-pounding twists. Grab it ASAP!

Ellery is in mental hell. Her mother taken, her consuming relationship with Ryker is burned to cinders, and the powerful amsirah are not done playing their cruel games on the residents.

What is the only bearer of the five elements to do to save her mother and everyone else? Are there still embers burning among the cinders with Ryker? Dare she risk letting others know her powers?

This second book in the series by Brenda K Davies will keep you riveted in your favorite reading location wanting to find all the answers to the challenges of Ellery, Ryker and the Shadow World.

The second in a heroic and enduring fantasy, A Tempest of Thieves is another amazing adventure from Brenda K Davies. Elly loves Ryker and Ryker loves Elly but for whatever reason fate just seems to want to make the poor pair struggle. When the king and Ryker's father continue to make life in Tempest a living hell with no escape in site they will have to learn to work together and put their feelings in front of behind for better or worse. I can't wait to see what the next installment brings for this adventurous pair.

Ryker and Ellery have been put through so much. So many secrets in this story, but some have been revealed and some are still hanging around. At least it has helped grow Ryker and Ellery strengthen their love for each other, but some many twist are still in the air with this book. I am always going to root for those two to be together! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. lol The Duke is such a devilish man! I hope he gets what he deserves in the end. The king as well. Those two are rotten to the core! Brenda you left me hanging on the edge of my seat once again! Well done!!

Fantastically written. Brenda has a way with character building that is complete perfection.
We continue where bk 1 finishes. Ellery is determined to get her mother back even if it means swallowing her pride and begging Ryker for help.
Ryker is busy drowning his sorrows. He despises Ellery. He loves Ellery. He trusted her No more. He wants nothing to do with her.
The love hate relationship going on with these two is so strong.
Can they forget the past and unite to help Ellery’s mother?
Can they help the realm?
Read this amazing instalment to find out.
I absolutely got lost in it. Brilliant

Tempest of Thieves did not disappoint! As the story continues from the first book in this series, it was definitely a roller-coaster of emotions with Ryker and Ellery. Just when you think you know what will happen, another twist comes out! This is a must read and trust me you will love it! I can't wait till the 3rd book to come out and to know if Ryker and Ellery love is strong enough to have what it takes to get through it all!

Great second book in the series. I went through the gamut of emotions with this one. Anger, sadness, aggravation and heat. Which is what I look for with the authors works. The male main character, grrrr, I so wanted to kick his behind!!! And Ellery, so sad for her. But they finally worked out their issues..or did they?? Hmmm, you’ll have to get the book ( do it NOW ) to see. I highly recommend the book!!!

A Tempest of Thieves is book 2 of the Tempest of Shadows series.

In this story be prepared to be swept away by the deceit and betrayal. A very suspenseful page turner from beginning to end, that leaves you begging for more!

Need the finale stat!

Thrilling ride. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster that wouldn't stop, and I didn't want it to at all! Brenda Davies has way creating characters that cause a wealth emotions in me as I read. She likes playing with her reader's feelings, keeping them as off balance as the characters and uses everything at her disposal to keep her reader's pendulums swinging. I am waiting impatiently for Ellery's moment to shine. Bring it on!

Oh My God my heart hurts for Ellery and Ryker. I don’t want to say too much but at first I really did want to smack Ryker for hurting Ellery but i also understand. This series just keeps getting better and I want them to win so bad and defeat his father and Ivan. The ending tho left me with my mouth open! I did get a little preview of the next book and wtf 😭 i definitely didn’t see that coming. The next book is going to be full of actions and drama and who knows what else. I can’t wait for it.

It speaks volumes when I keep reading beyond the last chapter to the sneak peek of the 3rd book that doesn’t come out for another few months. As a general rule I don’t do that ever. I hate the spoilers ahead of time, but this cliffhanger made my heart stop. I’m pulling so hard for Ryker and Ellery and just had to know the next crap that gets thrown in their path. I’m just gonna say that sneak peek made the wait worse, not better.

I love the writing style and imagination, with nonstop action. Brenda never ceases to amaze me and I love being able to pick up right where I left off. This book was no different as we continued with Ellery and Ryker’s story in Tempest. The stakes are even higher as truths come out and they’re forced into overcoming their own emotions for the good of others. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I really enjoyed ATempest of Thieves which is the 2nd of this trilogy and now I’m not so patiently waiting for the conclusion of this particular storyline. Great world building, a unique take on the Robin Hood story and fascinating characters kept me turning pages to find out how this author’s imagination would solve the many problematic scenarios her characters have created.
