I absolutely loved this story and getting to come back to all of our Hockey House couples and see them a few years in the future. Not everything has been smooth sailing and there are definitely some things that need to get worked out in this epilogue book. It is very well done and I loved getting to see our couples and their growth with where they are in fulfilling their dreams and how they have continued to be a family to each other and build their relationships stronger. I would highly recommend reading the series, or at least some of it, prior to jumping into this book as all the couples and friendships are established in the other books. This book was a great way to wrap some things up and give us that extra happy ending with points of view from all our couples that we had the chance to fall in love with. This was a lot of fun and a really great read! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This epilogue novella was a fitting way to wrap up the series, checking in with the Hockey House hunks - and their ladies, of course - after a couple of years. There was plenty of drama, and heartstrings were thoroughly tugged before everyone got their HEA. Again.
It was definitely bittersweet seeing the Hockey House gang one last time. I unsurprisingly LOVED Caroline and Casey's story (Casey was especially one of my favourite characters from the whole series!) and also experienced some immense heartbreak for both Mikayla and Ethan and of course Rachel and Liam (who were perhaps my two favourite couples from the series). Prepare for some waterworks, some happy and some sad but just know Katy has got you and the Nolan U Hockey family in good hands. It has been a privilege being part of Katy's ARC team right from the start with the Nolan U prequel novella and now we're here! Thank you so much to Katy and the team! x
Every book in this series was five stars for me. I didn't want this series to end - but if it had to end, this was the story to tie it all together. It was perfection - we get to hear from all the Hockey House guys and their girlfriends/wives and we see where they are a few years after college. What I loved most about this series was the found family these people had with each other and it is so evident that friendship remains strong in this final book. Even though they don't live together anymore, they remain close and help and support each other when they need it. I just loved it! The good news - Katy is writing a Nolan U football series next and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us. Thanks, Katy, for a great series and a great ending!
A glimpse into the future of all the characters in the previous books. Marriage, engagements, children and the pressures of life. Will they all remain intact in their relationships or fall apart? I was really happy to see the hockey crew a few years on, their stories are not finished as they begin adulthood. Though I do love a college romance so I'm looking forward to what this author has next.
This was the perfect wrap up for this series. The first half was breaking my heart, watching these characters go through heartache and rough patches but by the end my heart was so full of love for these characters and so glad they all got their happy endings.
This series has been amazing from the start and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. All these characters, they’re hard not to love and want to see more of. It’s a bittersweet ending, because I don’t want this series to end, but they’ve all gotten their happy endings and they all had fantastic stories
I adored this series, and this bonus epilogue is the perfect little extra that these beloved characters and us devoted readers deserved. I loved checking back in with these couples and getting updates on what was happening in their lives. From tear of laughter to tears of sadness, this novella sends your heart on a roller coaster ride that reminds you of exactly why this was such an amazing series. Trust me, you will be all up in your feels as you enjoy this read.
Welcome Back to the Hockey House crew! It was great seeing where each couple has ended up and what adventures they’ve all been on. Each couple is dealing with a different curveball that life has thrown at them. Not only are they realistic, but they ways in which they go about tackling these obstacles together helps cement why Katy’s writing is so relatable. Each couple has grown from when we first met them, both individually and together as a unit. The bond is strong between all of these characters, and this concluding novel really scores the final goal. Thank you Katy for bringing us into the Nolan U universe and for sharing these characters and their stories with us. It has been quite the ride and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it 💕 Until next time, Nolan U, until next time.
This was a great ending to the series. You need to read the first 5 books before reading this one. Loved seeing how our characters were doing after college and how they were doing while adulting. Katy spins great stories. This is a must read
I received this book as an ARC copy. I loved that the author didn’t make the epilogue as all butterflies and rainbows, but also kept all of the couples together. This ending felt more realistic than others. The book touches on communication problems, infertility, inconveniences and more. There was both sadness and happiness in this book. Overall it was a great book.

For the first time, I felt like this epilogue and details on the HEA were not needed. I get that this book was portraying real life struggles that couples go through, married or not. Which I had no issue with over all. What bothered me was the absolute dislike I had for a few of the characters that I had previously loved.
Number one on my hitlist was Rachel. I get that she was struggling with her infertility issues and her emotions got the best of her when she blew up on Caroline. However, for me, it was unacceptable that Caroline was the one who extended the olive branch. Caroline is allowed to feel overwhelmed with the idea of having 3 under 4 yrs of age. She's allowed to be emotional about another unplanned pregnancy despite doing what they could to stop it. Still Rachel said horrible things to her and didn't have the balls to call and apologize. She waited until Caroline called. That is not a friend, in my opinion. As someone who is struggling the same as Rachel, and has friends who have healthy babies, I cannot understand it. Sure, have your moment of hurt and get through those emotions but don't drag someone else down for it and blame them for having feelings.
Number two on my hitlist was Mikayla. Yes, she's trying to advance her career but it's coming at the cost of her integrity. Lets leave Ethan out of the mix (for now). She knows they're walking all over her and still she goes along with it. The fact that she walked out of Bax and Tammy's rehearsal dinner says it all. These are her friends who have struggled to get their moment and she had the gall to just up and leave for a shitty job after she's ordered around by an even shittier boss. Nope. I love her and Ethan, but this story told me Ethan deserves better. I cant get that out of my head.
The shining light in this book was Asher and Lani. Each one trying to propose to each other and one-upping each other was hilarious!! They are absolutely adorable and maintained their chemistry from their book. So did Casey and Caroline. Casey as a dad was everything! His little conversation with his baby girl - precious!!
The Forever Gameby Katy Archer is an epilogue novella wrapping upNolan U Hockeyseries once and for all. The story had us following all of the Nolan U Hockey couples Ethan and Mikayla, Liam and Rachel, Casey and Caroline, Asher and Lani and Baxter and Tamara. All the while being told through their multiple POVs.
Even though the story followed multiple journeys that each of the couples were wading through. Author Katy ensured that not only did they interconnect in some way with one another. But that it came full circle, by bringing them altogether for the main plot that was the reasoning for them all being together. And that was Baxter and ղ’s wedding day.
I enjoyed reading about each of the couples and seeing where they were and what they were up to as well as going through as adults. Especially with the real life subject matters that author Katy bought to the table. It allowed the story to feel more genuine, knowing that even after the HEA in their own individual stories, it wasn’t going to continue that way in this epilogue novella. Having them each facing something, whether it be easy or hard.
One thing I was not expecting was the emotional rollercoaster thatThe Forever Gameturned out to be. From the many ups and downs to the constant highs and lows, the emotions just kept on coming within each of the couple stories. Particularly Liam and Rachel, my heart truly broke for them seeing all the suffering they faced and endured. It truly was saddening to see.
While I did enjoy reading the story, especially when it came to exploring Ethan and Mikayla, Asher and Lani and Liam and Rachel. Even though theirs was heartbreaking to read. There was one person that just I couldn’t stand and no surprise was still not a fan of and that was Caroline. She continued to annoy and frustrate me, especially from seeing how despite having it easier in comparison to some of the other couples with getting everything she wanted. She still managed to find a way to complain about it. And that not only did not sit right with me, but ultimately made me dislike her even more.
I have to say even with having the HEA from each of the couples individual books. Author Katy Archer deliveringThe Forever Gameas an epilogue novella was the icing on top of the cake, with being yet another enjoyable read fromNolan U Hockeyseries. It not only had us seeing through following each of the couples Ethan and Mikayla, Liam and Rachel, Casey and Caroline, Asher and Lani and Baxter and Tamara in adulthood. But also allowed for the perfect final wrap up to their story and the series once and for all.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am absolutely in love with The Forever Game! This book is everything I wanted and more. What made it especially meaningful for me was how Katy Archer took us a few years into the future, letting us see what’s happening with all the characters we’ve come to love. I truly wish more authors would do this—I'm always the one who wants to know how things turn out beyond the final chapter.
The entire series captivated me from the start, and I read all of it in just a few days. I simply couldn’t put it down. The journey these characters went through—filled with sadness, trauma, love, and happiness—felt so real and deeply moving. They've been through so much, and seeing how far they’ve come was incredibly satisfying.
Even though the series is complete, I still wish it wasn’t over. That’s how attached I became. The Forever Game was the perfect ending, yet it left me wanting more in the best possible way.
Katy Archer has definitely earned a spot on my must-read author list, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
I really didn’t want this to be the final book in the Nolan U Hockey series because I’m going to miss these characters! But I’m so glad we got to revisit all of them and find out where their lives have taken them.
The Hockey House couples find out that despite being with their soulmates, even meant-to-be relationships are hard work. It was refreshing to see them navigate real-life situations and hurdles, even though that meant watching them struggle and wanting to give them big hugs along the way. But getting to cheer when they once again obtained their happily ever afters made it all worth it.
I adored this book! It was like enjoying a perfect dessert after an exceptional meal! What a wonderful way to wrap up the series!
Talk about emotional!!! This amazing epilogue had a little bit of everything and showed just how real these couple seem! It was sweet, angsty, and full of emotions!
Tammy and Baxter are trying to finally make it down the aisle. Caroline and Casey are trying to make their own hockey team. Mick and Ethan seem to be growing apart. Asher and Lani are each trying to propose to the other. And Rachel and Liam are trying with all their heart to create a family.
Loved getting to see all my favorites on down the road. Even though they all got their happily ever afters, again, I was still not ready to say goodbye! These couples have dug themselves into my heart! I really hope we get to see them again!
Make sure you have read the entire series before you read this!!
This was a cute way to end up the series letting us in for a future adventure with each of the couples! I loved reading it but I honestly wish it had been wrote a little differently and with a little more detail! It was still great don’t get me wrong! I loved all of these couples during the series and was so glad to have more of them! I just wanted even a little “more I guess then what was given in the epilogue novella! I think I just wanted different outcomes! I would love to read even more about these characters in the future like a 10-15 year reunion! That would be so perfect!
This novella is an extended epilogue catching us up on what everyone is up to 5 yrs down the road. Needless to say, you need to read the previous books in the series before even downloading this one.
I loved seeing how everyone is doing post college and how they’re navigating adulthood with marriage, jobs and kids. My favorite couple is still Rachel and Liam and their story is poignant and heart wrenching but they’re so solid with each other and this just makes them so much stronger. I am going to miss all these characters and their stories. This was a beautifully ending to a well written series.
I read a lot of books & many are series. This entire series was so good, I became invested in every couple, through their ups & downs. The one thing I always say when I read the last book of a series; I wonder what happens with all of these people. Thank you Katy Archer, this final book gave me that “book where I find out what they are doing “adulting world. The last book was so very good, I appreciated every page. The reader even gives a picture of the gang at the end. I could appreciate the characters even after more seeing the picture, thou they are not real life, this author found pretty darn great “characters for this picture that were brought to life with her fantastic writing.
I love this series. I can't get enough of the hockey house players. I'm so happy that we have the opportunity to see where the future holds for our beloved characters. The struggles, career, infertility issues, marriage problems and etc. Each of the couple are encountering hardships and trying to navigate through their relationship/marriage on how to overcome the difficulties that lies ahead. Adulting is not easy at all but with the right person at their side, love conquers all.
This epilogue novella was everything! To see our much loved Hockey House couples "adulting" , feeling life's hurdles thru the words as if were right there beside them, cheering them on! Amazing!!!!
...the surprise in the last page..... better than how I've envisioned...how is that even possible!?!
Katy Archer strikes again *claps hands in round of applause and appreciation*
