Absolution is another winner for Carlyle Labuschagne!
I've been a fan of the Broken novels from the very first time I read them. I've fallen in love with these characters. I've watched them grow and mess up. I've fallen in love with Troy. ;)
Seeing things from Eva's point of view, it gave me insight into who I thought was the bad guy. It shows us why she's the way she is. And I enjoyed reading this novella for that simple fact. I like seeing the different point of views, and I love getting into their heads!
Absolution adds more to the Broken novels, especially since we get to see how how the shadow army really works. We learn more about the shadowing disease, and it's AMAZING!
Carlyle did a brilliant job of setting this book up for our answers to questions but also leaving us hanging enough to want more! I can't wait to see what else she writes!
When I first started reading Absolution I was kinda angry because of the way Troy was allowing Eva to treat him but soon found out it was only his master plan. I was kind of confused but only because it had been so long ago since I've read the other two books from this series. I don't do a lot of sci fi but let me tell you Carlyle Labuschagne has a way with words. The details she puts into each book always seem to amaze me and don't get me stated with the worlds she builds, the imagination that is put into each story always captures me. This is one series you do not want to miss out on, it's beyond phenomenal. I highly recommend reading Absolutin especially if you love a story that will take you to places you can only dream of.
Absolution is a novella from the Broken world following a cast of different characters and some familiar ones. I love Carlyle's writing. I could read her all day! All I can say is this is addictive and I need more!
I loved this, just as I have the first two in the Broken Series by Ms.Labuschagne. I'll admit it wasn't what expected from the title, but it was a wonderful surprise. I thought it would be a recollection of what went through the main character's mind when she had done some of the things in the previous books. (Although it did that as well a great deal as it went along). Certainly, a book with that would have been a great read as well I've no doubt with Ms. Labuschagne writing it. What I found though when I started reading was this book actually begins right where Book Two (Evanescent) in the Broken series ends. I was happy to say the least because Book Two's ending leaves you begging to find out what happens next. Since the author is still working on the last book in the trilogy, this was perfect until that last book happens. Although a shorter read, it continues with the same heart and intensity coursing through every page, as the struggle that is core of the series pulses in every emotion and thought of the characters. Of course, due to the author's amazing storytelling, a twist was revealed that made much of what we saw clearer. However, as the story shows sometimes knowing still doesn't make it easier when the moment comes and things must be done. It doesn't stop it from hurting or the tears from falling. It was an enjoyable read again. I'm eager to see how the author brings this story to its close.
