4.5 Filthy Beautiful Stars!
Kendall Ryan has done it again. Given me a book thats full of steam, a book thats sweet and has the perfect amount of angst and drama to balance the sweet and sexy.
At the start of this story, we meet a girl named Sophie. Sophie is a virgin. For no other reason than she’s had a sick sister for a lot of her young adult/adult life and never took that step. She’s been trying to find a solution. Something that can save her sister. Money is what she needs and she finds only one way to get the amount. Sell her virginity to the highest bidder. She’ll spend the next six months with who ever ‘buys� her, then her life will go back to normal. She just has to pull it together. For six months. For her sister.
Colton Drake is at this auction on a whim. He’s looking for a companion. Someone to stay with him, have no strings sex and fill his wants and desires. He’s a good looking guy. Successful and sexy. He shouldn't need to buy anyone. But the fact is, Colton doesn’t want any of the hurt or drama that comes with a relationship. So this is the best solution he could find.
Colton certainly never thought he would buy a virgin. That wasn’t something he was planning. Something about Sophie changed his mind. He’s just got to keep his head in the game. Colton has a past he doesn’t want her or anyone to know about. As long as he can keep that to himself and she remembers he reason she's there, they’ll get along just fine.

There were times I was calling her a giant tease in my head, but the anticipation made things between Colton and Sophie that much more intense. They shared something and had great chemistry.
Sophie was a strong heroine. Selfless. She had to be to do something like this for her sister. And Colton Drake� mysterious, charming, sexy and a little broken. Just my type. The two of them together had this bond that developed slowly. I was expecting a ton of hot sex with zero feelings, but thats not what I got and I was grateful. It was a slow burn. It was hot, but not emotionless.
I also just want to throw it out there that I loved Colton’s brothers. I hope we get more of them� maybe even some spin off stories!
If you are a fan of Kendall Ryan’s steamy stories, I would very much recommend this one. It was an easy read and once I picked it up, there was no putting it down. I was addicted. The story had an interesting concept and I love the direction it took. The end was a bit of a cliffy and I can’t wait to read the next installment to see wtf is going on! So I pretty much loved this book! I mean what's not to love? You have an alpha male, who's quite conceited in his goal for sexual pleasure and then you have a heroine who sacrifices herself to help a loved one! That's just my cuppa!
Sophie Evans, is a twenty year old virgin. She also has a sick twin sister, and the only treatment that could save her life is out of reach because she and her mother cannot afford it. So after an interview gone wrong at a strip club. Sophie takes a leap of faith and does the unimaginable, she agrees to sell her virginity to the highest bidder.
The night she is sold is the night she meets the man who will own her for the next six months, Colton Drake. Why a man as good looking as he is has to buy a woman's affection is beyond her understanding, but Colton has a few secrets of his own. And boy are those secrets juicy... and infuriating.
So firstly let me clarify that Filthy Beautiful Lies does indeed not have a lot of sex scenes. But it does has tons of sexual tension which I thrive on, I love it when characters wanna hump each other so bad but something is holding them back. It makes their first time that much more satisfying.
Secondly. Blow jobs. Yes, this author had me hating Sophie for having the opportunity.
So as you might have guessed Sophie and Colton's relationship does progress from blow jobs and sexual tension to a more meaningful connection.
Now lets talk about what may have been wrong with this story. For a virgin, Sophie fell easily into the role of deep throating, Colton. Did that make sense? No.
Did it bother me? No.
Would I have enjoyed it just as much if she'd been scared out of her mind. Probably.
Look, I'll get to the point. If you're looking for some sexy times and a virginal heroine who's a hiding a pretty potent inner vixen and would like to live vicariously through her then this is your book. It's not dark, it's just hot and Colton makes my heart and other bits flutter.

Aggressive treatment seems the best way to go only the treatment costs way more than the family can afford.
Colton Drake needs someone to fulfill his…needs in the bedroom; which is how he finds himself at an erotic sex club ready to purchase a girl to have his way with. What he did not expect to happen? Him ending up with a virgin. Yeah, that was not part of the plan.
‘Maybe I shouldn’t be so nosy, because now as he leads me further into the belly of the house, all my fears rush to the surface. Does he have some weird sex room like Christian Grey’s red room?�
Sophie has no flipping clue what she is getting in to. Her trepidation flies off the pages as you begin to wonder what is in store for her character. Where is he taking her? What kind of kink is he in to? He has to be in to kink right? He bought her at an auction for crying out loud.
My questions are eventually answered as are hers when Colton tells her exactly why he bought her. Only what should be clear becomes clouded. Colton seems to have a hindrance from his past and he is in no mood to share what that is.
In the meantime Sophie finds herself becoming drawn to Colton more; wanting to fulfill his needs more. After all, she is there for his pleasure right.
My Thoughts
I really enjoyed this one! It was a quick read, it brought the steam, a little bit of mystery and some secondary characters you’ll want to get to know a whole lot better.
The main characters : Kendall Ryan brings you a strong independent take charge heroine in Sophie. I really dig this chick. She does not hesitate to tell the rich I can give you what you need Drake that aside from the original deal she does not need any handouts from him. And in turn this strong determined male has no problem letting her know I can give you what you need whenever you need it. Not exactly a battle of the wills but it’s enough to incite some sexy friction between the two.
For the most part you can’t help but admire Sophie’s strength and determination. Then you have Colton Drake, he’s sexy, rich, kind and mysterious as not much is known of his character initially.
The writing : I found that the story flowed well and the chemistry between the H/h was excellent! I connected with both characters, feeling just about everything Sophie felt.
If you are looking for a quick erotic read with a strong heroine and a mysteriously sexy hero, I highly recommend Filthy Beautiful Lies!

See the cover? The title? It promises hot sex right? I mean this book has a warning! Sadly this one didn't deliver the heat or filth like it proclaimed.
Still this was a decent quick read. Wealthy business man Colton Drake paid one million dollars for Sofie to be his for six months. It's like she not only hit the lotto but this guy wants a companion and puts his own urges aside till -- the virgin is ready because he has feelings for her and a conscience...gasp!
Sofie has a dying twin and this selfless act of selling herself may actually save Becca's life. What Sofie slowly finds out is that she has desires for Colton and being on her own away from her mother and sister is freeing. The author has us believe she is stunningly gorgeous, jobless, selfless, friendless and a virgin like she just hatched or something.
I actually did enjoy this story even though the SMUT wasn't delivered and will probably read book two even though the cliff was completely predictable. I'm hoping things are more complicated and surprising than what has been revealed. I did like Colton and his brothers a lot and hoping the next installment will deliver the wow both in the bedroom and the storyline.

Have you ever loved a book so much that you struggle to write a review that could possibly do the book justice? That is how I am feeling as I sit here trying to write a review for Filthy Beautiful Lies by Kendall Ryan. When I finished reading, I was giddy, had the biggest smile on my face, and could not stop messaging a good friend about how much I loved this book and Colton Drake <3 To give you a good idea of what I probably looked like...
What It's About
What extreme would you go to in order to save someone you loved? That is the dilemma that Sophie Evans faces when she needs to raise a large amount of money to save her sister's life. Having no other options, Sophie makes the decision to auction off her virginity and basically becomes her purchaser's property for a period of six months.
Sophie's strength of character and selflessness when it comes to her family are traits that I really respected about her. She has spent most of her life focused on her family and never really had a chance to live her own life to the fullest. This is a large part of the reason that she is still a virgin and I found that aspect of the story completely believable. Like Sophie, I was really anxious to see what the auction would have in store for her because of her inexperience with men and sex. What would the man be like? How would he treat her? Would he have any extreme sexual fetishes? The fact that he had to purchase a woman rather than meeting one through dating is a red flag, right?
Colton Drake does not want a relationship. He wants a companion. Someone who will stay with him and meet his physical needs but won't expect anything beyond that. He doesn't want the drama or messy feelings attached to a traditional relationship. Since he values his privacy, the auction seems like a viable place to find the type of discreet, no strings attached, companionship that he is looking for.
Sophie is entering this agreement for the money that will save her sister's life. She never planned on being purchased by a man who makes her want more out of life. Falling for him was never part of the plan. Given that Colton doesn't want a relationship and there are secrets that he is hiding from Sophie, will she be able to leave the arrangement in six months with her heart intact?
My Thoughts
Colton Drake is officially one of my top book boyfriends! I am a huge fan of the alpha male heroes who are sexy, have an intriguing past, charming, like control, and can work it in a suit ;) ;) While he possesses all of these attributes, I think what I loved about him the most were the moments that he showed an unexpected tenderness toward Sophie. In those moments, you get a glimpse of who Colton really is and you see a piece of his soul hidden there.
Overall, I just want to say that Filthy Beautiful Lies hooked me from start to finish. There are so many aspects of this book that I loved! The suspense surrounding the auction, a selfless heroine that you can respect, an intriguing hero that will make your pulse race, and enough steam to make you wonder if your panties will spontaneously combust! I will be counting down the days until I can get my hands on the second book, Filthy Beautiful Love!

I can't lie, I had expectations of where this story was going to go. Those expectations were altered a bit as I read along and although I found myself reading a story I did not expect, I loved it anyway. Both characters were easily able to relate to and I think the dual POVs allowed us to understand Colton and his actions with clarity. For Sophie, she was balancing staying detached and clinging to the emotions she was feeling towards this man. There was instant attraction, but there was no instant love - which I was grateful for.
Kendall Ryan teased us with these sex scenes. There was this heat that you could feel building and building, just on the cusp of exploding and a few early lines in this had me worried that this man might just destroy her lady-bits.

Let me just say to you that this book wasn’t definitely what I was waiting for.
For a synopsis that delivered a girl selling her virginity and the sexy CEO who bought it, it was incredibly mild. I mean, this was expected to be a much hotter read and I definitely wasn’t expecting that Sophie’s status didn’t change much. It was a sweeter book than what I thought it would be, but that’s not a bad thing. The writing was good, had pretty good heartwarming moments, and a secret that although being predictable, gave needed drama to the story. Definitely a series that I’ll keep reading.

This is pretty much my all time favourite scenario. My sick head goes all dark and twisted and I'm jumping around the house, screaming 'dis gone be goooooooood'...
Well...it wasn't exactly what I thought or even hoped it would be. The mysterious stranger Colton Drake turned out to be not so twisted and dark after all and for someone who buys a sex-slave at an auction he was very concerned with Sophie's feelings, pleasure and he was quite a bit worried about scaring her away. What a gentleman?! He has secrets, so I suppose that’s something.
Not sure what it says about me that I was at first disappointed about his 'kindness', but I wanted more...especially the 'filthy' so advertised in the book’s title...that's not asking too much, right? *pouts* But I have to say I got over my initial reservations pretty damn fast.
Yeah, that makes up for dark and twisted, right?
Filthy Beautiful Lies is a short read and yet a slow burn. The first part is very interesting...the middle part drags after a while and nothing really happens ...until about 70%, that's where all the good stuff comes in. So, if you want to read this book, just hold out...there is lighting at the end of the tunnel. And what a bright light that is. Warm and fuzzy and all kinds of awesome.
And now to the bad part. That freaking cliff-hanger. Are you kidding me? Yeah, I've seen it coming from miles away...*duh* could that have been more obvious? But still, it hit me like a freight train and I'm still shaking from rage. But the next book - I'm absolutely convinced - will be AWESOME!! It has to be!

When I first started this one, I actually went to check to see if I had already read it. Then I remembered the mother was sick it the last book, the girl was selling her virginity in. So why 4 stars on a book that lacks originality? Because despite not being 100% original it was still so enjoyable and in it’s own way unique.
Sophie Evans twin sister has terminal cancer, and while she has been getting treatment. She isn’t getting better and needs to try some experimental treatment, but that requires money. That is how Sophie ends up auctioning virginity to the highest bidder.
Colton Drake isn’t a dominating asshole looking to torture an innocent virgin, who will actually love being dominated and completely change her ways. No this is a story about a guy who is damaged and wants companionship, without the fuss. It is more like a friends with benefits situation, without being friends first.
As Colton and Sophie move in together and begin living a life together, they eventually start a physical relationship. Colton has never a girl like Sophie, she isn’t about money or status or what he can do for her. Sophie is just interested in his taking care of Colton and getting to know him.
Despite the feelings they begin feeling for each other, neither is ready to accept their feelings.
Is this the first story I have read like this? No, but I still loved and couldn’t wait to start the sequel. The characters were real and easy to love, I loved how their relationship progressed and they got to know each other. I highly recommend this one, it is a quick read that will keep you entertained.

The book ends in a cliffy. I tore through it, enjoyed watching their unusual relationship grow...it was endearing. I am hopeful, however, to get more filthy alpha that dampens my panties in the second book.

Colton is a sweet Hero. He’s a rich business man and has some past issues. We don’t know what it is, but it’s one of the reasons why he wanted to purchase Sophie. He was simply looking for a companion. As much as I love the “alpha� dominate Hero, I really like Colton. His character just seems a little different.
Sophie
Call me crazy, but I love the soft virgin that sells herself for her sister. I know, it’s a little a typical, but I love it. Sophie is sweet, caring and is there to do what she was purchased for. I like how she isn’t so dramatic. There are some parts where she could have been annoying, but she never went that way and it made the reading experience enjoyable.
Overall
Filthy Beautiful Lies was nothing what I expected and it worked for me. I really liked the interaction between Sophie and Colton, it was really organic and I’m a major fan of slow relationships. The book was adorable, short and sweet. The ending will leave you wanting more.

It took a little bit to get into this story, but once it got going I didn't want to put it down! Sophie and Colton have great chemistry and the sexual tension is palpable. The story was predictable, but so good that I couldn't tear myself away, even knowing what was bound to happen. Then, when Colton's big secret is finally revealed, the book ends!
Now, even though I'm pretty sure I know how book 2 will play out, I'm frustrated and dying to read it! I'm such a masochist. Why do I do this to myself?!? I'll pass my time praying that the sequel is released early I guess! :)

This was a good, sexy read. I hate that Colton kept secrets from Sophie the while time, especially when she was so open about why she was there to begin with. Unsurprisingly, that secret came back to bite him in the butt HARD at the end. I'm mad she left "intact" though. Lol. Looking forward to how Colton is going to clean up his mess in book 2.

Colton Drake...sexy and super rich. Didn't mean to buy himself a virgin but he's willing to make the best of the situation....
Although there is no de-flowering... there is so much sexual tension and enough sexy times to more than make up for the loss of actual sex... The chemistry between Sophie and Colton was so hot... Colton is struggling with an issue in his past that he's trying to get rid of so he can move on .. possibly with this beautiful innocent that has completely beguiled him. While Sophie is trying to come to terms with the fact that she actually wants the man that bought her for 6 months.. They've formed a strong intense connection .. and now they both want more than they ever thought they would....
With a doozy of a cliffhanger.. I'm glad I waited until the next book was out to start this series!

Kendall is one of my favorite authors so for me it's obligatory to read everything she write.
The book is quick, entertaining and fun. I loved it but it's a totally different story to what I expected.
I liked Sophie, she was sweet and innocent. Colton was sexy and sweet (sometimes) and I liked his brothers.
I looking forward to read the next book, especially after that final!

I first heard about & during an online conversation in the Shh� [Smut, Heroes & HEAs…] with Alessandra group on GRs where an upcoming chat with the author will take place on July 21st. In preparation for the chat I thought this book would make a good choice as my introduction to ’s world.
Colton Drake, a young, rich, successful business man who hasn’t had sex in two years pays one million dollars at an exclusive erotic club to secure six months with Sophie Evans. Sophie, an over-thinker willingly sells her body and virtue to the highest bidder in order to make a lot of money quickly. Sophie desperately needs this money for her twin sister and best friend to be accepted into an experimental treatment program for advanced cancer. is about the unconventional meeting and budding relationship between main characters Colton Drake and Sophie Evans.
The title for this book is interesting and had my mind wondering what filthy passages I was going to discover and how a lie could be beautiful. Honestly speaking, I was a bit let down in the filth department. The book’s synopsis is a bit misleading where the (H) is concerned. I was expecting a man who’s into kink� maybe some BDSM even.
So where’s my filth?
On the flip side, words cannot express my excitement at the sweet twist, and game changing beautiful lie at the end.
Throughout there's a mystique around Colton: a past he doesn't like to talk about and a secret he doesn't want revealed to Sophie. As I anxiously wait for someone to expose Colton’s secret I’m also relishing in the ease the couple has now found themselves in with daily schedules and routines. While how they met was irregular and secretive, the feelings for one another are undeniable and touching.
Although this book had funny and endearing moments, it felt a bit flat for me. There were some execution flaws in the storyline and wrong word choices used that through me off a bit. In addition I really didn’t like the misleading description of the character. On a more positive note, I like stories that bring prejudices and morality into question and does that in regards to how & why the couple meets and the secret Colton doesn’t want disclosed. I think the story is written well enough to where the surprise ending/twist that usually will have readers upset or refuse to read a book is done in a way where you feel for Sophie without going through all the angst filled emotions (hard to explain without spoiler)
At any rate, the ending prompted me to quickly purchase book 2, to see if/how Colton was going to get out of the dog house.
If you’re into good girls and guys who do questionable acts and like romantic reads then for you. get 3.5 gloriously dishonest stars.

Filthy Beautiful Lies reminds me of three other wonderful books. Emma Hart's Late Call, Pepper Winter's Tears of Tess, and Christina Lauren's Sweet Filthy Boy. As much as I'd like to spill why, I won't. My lips are sealed!
So Filthy Beautiful Lies made me curious and intrigued because of two reasons. One, because of the bold cover. Not that I'm gay, but that thigh gap is perfect.And two, because of the word filthy. Filthy is like the perfect word for a great smut. And dear god, it is. This one is really goooooood. Its like tasting the drops of a melted dark chocolate. The sexual tension between the two made me.. OKAY I ADMIT IT. It made me horny. LOL.
The hero's personality was surprising. He was soft and I swear to all the angels in the heavens, I would love to witness THE PACKAGE in his pants. Which was described to be large and is already reaching his belly button. And damn, Colton Drake . Yep, his name is Colton Drake, ladies. His name is enough to make your knickers drop.The name is fucking perfect for a gorgeous billionaire. Don't worry ladies, he doesn't have a red room of pain, or a traumatic past. This billionaire is definitely normal and lighter. He doesn't need a whip. LOL.
The heroine, Sophie, which is in need of money, decided to put herself in auction. And if she's bought, she's gonna be a sex slave for like.. 6 months. YES PLEASE. CAN I JOIN THAT AUCTION TOO? LOL. So she was unexpectedly bought by the yummy Colton Drake who seems to have a fondness with blowjobs. *cough*
Damn.
Let's go on with the story. That damn story that left me breathing for more. I'm guessing that Emma Hart was the one who decided to help with the last chapter and to leave it with a cliffy and a.. well.. a shocking revelation. I've read Late Call, and I also had the same reaction. *sigh* I don't really like cliffys like these but.. hell.. I have no choice but to wait. LOL. The cliffy left me breathing so hard and I was like.. CMON, THE PARTY IS JUST GETTING STARTED!!
Properly saying, it was really a great start for a series. Perfect unpredictable hero, shy innocent heroine, and a jaw dropping cliffy! Ugh.. I need the sequel, like.. right now. I can't wait to see what happens next. I'd like to go inside the damn story and comfort Sophie. God, her name's like an angel.
Btw, I just love how Colton calls her sweetness. Its just sweet, smooth, and refreshing. *dreamy sigh*

I need book 2
I loved this book and I know you will too. That is if and only IF you like erotic romance. I think maybe this is spicy but maybe not all erotic, either way who the hell cares it is great fun. Colton Drake is a dream. I have some delusional thoughts towards him. So the premise of the book is that Colton buys the virginity of Sophie at a special private auction. It is believable to me. I thought at first it was going to be crazy and not so well ... believable. It hits the bulls eye for me
One million dollars to Sophie for her sisters treatment and Colton gets a woman for 6 months.
What I love about Kendall Ryan is the humorous touches in her novels. This of course is no exception. There were times I laughed and there were times I wanted to cry. I did actually even laugh at inappropriate times too.
If you need a lift then I say grab it now. I love how the series is released so close together too. Pace is one of Colton's brothers and I like him and I really want him to have a story too.
Marta who is a personal assistant to Colton is wonderful so she gets a nomination for a story of her own too. Overall some great characters and some steam what more can a girl ask for?

Nothing really happened until the very end. Fortunately, I have the second book, Filthy Beautiful Love on standby, so I was able to get to the HEA immediately. I would have liked this more if this had been combined into one book instead of two. Honestly, there wasn't enough plot top warrant two books.
