Whew! Sanai and Truce came through with a word and I was here for it. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Somethin� is off with Sanai’s boyfriend and, it has been for a while. He doesn’t buy her flowers anymore, he’s stopped being affectionate, he’s going out of town on “business� trips more often than usual, they haven’t had sex in months, and the coup de grâce?!!! He forgot her birthday. Sanai knows what’s up but, she just doesn’t want to admit it. You know what they say. Don’t go lookin� for shyt unless you want to find somethin�. When Sanai finally got tired of Jaxson playin� in her face, sis became Inspector Gadget because she was more than ready to find out some shyt. But, she was not prepared for what she found. Truce is the king of I don’t give AF and, he has absolutely no filter. He does what he wants, he says what he wants, and he doesn’t give a damn who he offends. When he meets Sanai for the first time at game night, immediately it was f*ck Jaxson because, she was his lady now and her man was just gon� have to move TF around. Poor Sanai. She really wasn’t tryin� to get her lick back but, Truce was like the devil on her shoulder coaxin� her to the dark side. ‘It ain’t cheating if he did it first.� 😈😈😈 When He’s Not There was too damn good. I fell in love with the characters and, it had the perfect amount of shenanigans that had me LOL. Truce was that guy. He was protective, he was possessive, he was rude, and he had all the audacity. Just givin� all kinds of bad boy energy and I love that for him. This was my first book by Zee Renee but, it definitely won’t be the last. I know one thing tho. What’s her name betta get the ending she deserves in the next book cause, heffa, we ain’t forgot. 😒😒😒😒

Sanai was channeling her inner Bernie from Waiting to Exhale because during the entire prologue all I heard was “Well guess what John?! You’re the MF improper influence! Get yo 💩, get yo 💩 and get out� 🥴😩🫠 chyyyyyyy Sanai stepped into some 💩 with her relationship and was walking around with sh*tty shoes on 🥴
Sanai’s intuition has been firing off on all cylinders regarding her unfaithful 🍑 🥷 and now that she finally has proof, she not only wants to get her lick back, her goal is to gut him like a fish and leave him flapping!
At this point she and Jaxson have been operating robotic when it comes to their relationship. He’s been doing him for so long that Sanai can’t remember what happiness looks or feels like and then she crosses paths with Truce. Game night led her to the perfect get back partner and this man was with the sh*ts!!! If gives zero fks had a picture next to it in the urban dictionary, Truce would be there with a sh*t eating grin 😁�..😂😂

Now Zee you know I love you down and am a huge fan, however I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t point out where this book missed the mark FOR ME and maybe some things will come to light in the continuation but for now�..
The prologue and the real time events didn’t match up. Jaxson potentially being there to witness Truce show up, fk “his woman� then just leave to go on his trip with zero confrontation 🤔
Kinsley and her reveal regarding what Mason had been doing did not match her actions during the entire novella. If a 🥷 had me that traumatized we would not be kiki’ing at game nights and birthday dinners.
I feel that Sanai’s mental illness was glossed over. I would have loved to see this fleshed out a bit more and I know it was a novella but it really is in the details with some things.
I also don’t think bringing Jaxson’s father into the story added anything. They could’ve accomplished the same results without him.
If this is all about Sanai’s get back I wanted to see that play out on page more aggressively. I wanted the confrontation and for her to look the b!tches in their eyes and call them out on their bs but we didn’t get that either. The get back went from “run everybody hide� in the prologue to “that’s it� when it all played out.
There are a few more things but for the sake of not having an even longer review I’ll end by saying that Zee shines with longer novels. She can really get into her character and story development bag when she has the time and word count to do so. There were too many dots that didn’t connect and things felt haphazardly resolved. Zee still has me and my support but this one was a bit of a miss for me despite Truce being absolute everything!!

I can see myself gettin' in where I fit in (I can see myself) (yeah)I want you to see, just how much ya man ain't me 🎵🎶 was the type of time Truce was on.
Listen I loved how disrespectful these two were 🤷🏾♀� Sanai was living with a man that she felt had been pulling away with every work excuse in the book. When she came across Truce and all of his BDE, she felt an immediate pull and she acted on it. Her man thought he was doing some disrespectful ish, but she pulled a reverse uno card on his azz
I ain't had a new book bae in awhile. Truce stand up sir because you are added to the list expeditiously. I was in love with his nonchalant, take charge, wish a🥷🏾 would type energy. He was so damn mannish and I was here for all of the smoke. The Birthday scene, The Restaurant Scene, The random pop up......sir relax but not really. The pressure was applied and his intentions were clear. He wasn't gonna play about Sanai regardless of if she had a man or not.
If I was just rating off of him it would easily be 5 stars.I would say this is still a good read for those of you not to keen on all of the details.

This book has so much potential, but ultimately it needed to be edited. The Prologue did not match up to the actual story at all, which was disappointing. The timelines nor story line added up. Were we supposed to really believe he didn't hear them, and just went on his trip with no smoke?? Also, how did Yara barely get any smoke. We ain't rolling up on her or nothing? She needed to be crying in the corner on page in my opinion 🤷🏾♀� Lastly, she mishandled the introductory of IED. I always like to learn about different disorders, however if you are going to bring it up it should be addressed fully...

Well, I need to secure me a spot in Indigo Falls I see. Mr. Truce Wright is the ish!! 🤩 I don't condone cheating, but when it comes to a man like Truce, all is forgiven. 🤷🏾♀� Truce is a man about his business, who takes what he wants and doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks about it. When he lays eyes on Sanai, he knows she is his.
Sanai knows in her heart that her man Jaxon is cheating but won't allow herself to deal or accept that fact without proof. When Truce enters her orbit, she is like Jaxon who? 👀 He has her attention, and they move like that fool Jaxon don't even exist. 😂 Real recognize real, and these two were magic together.
When the ish hits the fan, and secrets are revealed, that get back is top tier!! 💓 Can't wait for more shenanigans in Indigo Falls, especially when Sanai and Yara see each other again. Enjoyed this. 👍🏾👍🏾

I actually really loved this!
It absolutely is NOT cheating if he did it first. Word to Zee Renee'.
I enjoyed this tremendously. Even though this story ends on a to be continued, I feel like the story ended very well. There are really no loose ends. But of course there can always be more of a well written story with beautiful characters.

This was TOO good! This was a first read by Zee and for sure won’t be my last. Although a novella it was a lot going on that literally had me from the first page chile. Truce says what he means and means what he say and I love that for Sanai.

3/5 ⭐️ - I’ve dedicated November to reading novellas. I’m not quite sure how I stumbled upon this book, but if nothing else, it was definitely entertaining. 😂. If books about getting your lick back or the old adage “the best way to get over one man is to get under another�, are appealing, consider giving this one a try.

So this book started off strong and somewhere in the middle I landed in the twilight zone. I don’t know what in the Sandhill is going on with the timeline and unnecessary drama. Truce was too much of a character for me and his actions were over the top. DNF at 75%, no longer interested in the conclusion.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this book because I HAD A FUCKING TIME READING IT. From the first page, I just knew I was not only gonna love it but want to reread it again. Truce had me in stitches. He set his sights on Sanai and that was it. His possessiveness had me weak. I really couldn't get enough.

Wow this was a ride from beginning til the end.
Truce the man you are! 🥵 This man literally makes Sinai orgasm at a table with her friends & her MAN, he have no fucks 😭😭😭 Her man honestly deserved worst and Truce gave that to him! He was also so freaking funny and he was real, knew what he wanted and came and got it.
I love Sinai and I was so glad she got her lick back when it came to that trifling as man of hers.

not quite sure why but i didn’t connect with this book the way i usually connect with urban novellas. i don’t know what it was.
the writing and plot are there, i just didn’t feel it fr. maybe i just wasn’t in the mood for this book atm, so i would take this rating with a grain of salt as i know most people would like this novella bc it definitely can be interesting, just wasn’t a huge fan.

This book started off with action and didn't let up.. This is a new to me author, and I'm glad I got into her catalog. Sanai was the queen of don't play with me. Her so-called man Jaxson learned the hard way she is not to be played with. He was out her cheating and not paying attention to home and left the door wide open for Truce. Truce is the definition of Mr. Steal Yo Girl. From the moment he laid eyes on Sanai, he was determined to make her his. The chemistry between these two was hot. I couldn't get enough of them. Truce built Sanai up and had her back at all times. My favorite scene is Sanai checking Jaxson in the kitchen. Sanai got her lick back on everyone who did her wrong, and I loved it. I can't wait to read more on these characters.

Do you think Sanai got even? Or did she take it too far? It's debatable in my opinion. I honestly feel like she didn't do enough. Jaxson deserved that ass whooping Truce wanted to give him. This was a good lil read short and to the point but baby the ROUTE WAS SCENIC AF lol. This pen wasn’t to be played with and I look forward to what’s next. I will say the prologue did throw me off a bit the sequencing wasn’t my favorite BUUUUT the author made up for it with the rest. I will say she did throw me for a loop when the affair partner was revealed, but there was some bread crumbs. I will say I’m glad the she didn’t choose the easiest choice because it made the story that much better.

Truce is the truth. He is not to be played with. I love how he was all about Sanai. He is a little loco, but it's a good loco. I was so hoping Jaxson came upstairs (ha! ha!). I can't wait to see if/when everyone gets what they deserved. Zee Renee' does it again. She is becoming one of my must read authors.

If “Get Your Lick Back� was a person it would be Truce. His energy had me kicking my feet 😌 Sanai was unhappy & Truce saw someone he wanted & knew he would have.
