Psychic reporter Micki Davis is out to solve her small-town’s murder—armed with a mischievous puppy, an annoyingly handsome detective, and visions that just might lead her to the killer.
Murder, mystery, and psychic visions welcome to the whiskey festival! Micki Davis thought life in her charming small town of Rocosa, New Mexico, would stay predictable—until a murder at her friend’s whiskey festival shatters that illusion. As a reporter for the local paper with a hidden psychic gift, Micki is pulled into the mystery when her friend is arrested for the murder. Between dodging suspects, managing a flirtatious partnership with the ever-serious Detective Martinez, the town’s senior citizens betting on her love life, and keeping her foster pup out of trouble, Micki is in for a hilarious and spine-tingling ride through Rocosa’s deepest secrets. As danger closes in, Micki finds herself navigating a web of lies, old grudges, and dangerous passions. It might just be Micki’s supernatural gift (and her adorable, mischievous dog) that saves her—and the ones she loves.
A psychic cozy mystery with a splash of bourbon charm!
I definitely need to read more in this series, so I can't wait for the next book now! I really loved the key characters and definitely got a kick outta Micki's sense of humor and some of the stuff she did. She was a bit annoying when she was denying liking the detective and denying she was gonna keep the adorable dog. Aunt Betty and Micki's mom cracked me up.
The supporting cast of friends and coworkers was awesome and anyone would love being friends with that group. Micki's two besties knew just what she needed when she'd get herself in hot water one way or another. But Micki did a good job in the showdown and even little Judo pup helped. The ending was perfect but I'm dying to read more!
