As a fan of the TNTD interactive horror series, as well as a fan of both of these authors, I was super excited to dive into this one. This was a lot of fun and has definitely earned its spot in my top 3 TNTD books. I was brutally unalived 6 times while making my way through this adventure. While brutal, Angel Van Atta's ability to make you really connect with her characters shines through in this as well as in her other books. I won't give spoilers, but one scene was the most adorably violent way to go anyone could ask for, and I am glad I was there for it! The ebook version also includes a survivor edition for those that prefer to just read through.

I didn't fail to die a couple of times and it was fun as always. And Angel's writing is making things even better, I always enjoyed her style immensely. My only complaint would be that the ending felt a bit too rushed.

I’m such a massive fan of this series, and Escaping the Cult absolutely does not disappoint. Angel is a fantastic writer, her stories always hit me right in the chest.

I did find this book a little bit easier than some of the others, and I had to work a bit to get the death scenes as I found it steered you in the right direction a bit. HOWEVER- the deaths were brutal and amazing and fun, just as I expected from this series.

I can’t wait to read more of these, TNTD is my favourite series to read, every one is a banger- try out any of them and I’m sure you will have a ton of fun as well!

Either this one was easier than the others, or I've discovered a hidden talent; I only died twice! I'm maybe not your first choice for help escaping a cult (maybe like your third or fourth?) but I'm certainly not your last choice! It's my lowest death total for a TNTD book to date, and it's left me having a bit of trouble writing a review.

I really want to know more about this cult and their belief system. Ruby and Sammie saw all these atrocities while trying to escape, but what were they for? What sort of beliefs does this cult have that made those particular atrocities necessary? I'm so curious about them, and I wish we'd have gotten to know more about them throughout the book.

The end felt a little abrupt to me as well. It left me with some loose ends (like what happened to Ma, Pa, and Little Joe?) and a lot of questions about the ending. Maybe the intent was to leave it a little vague, but I did find myself wanting at least a few more answers to round the story out.

Despite my low fatality rate, this was still a fun read. I ended up flying through it, and now I'm off to go intentionally fail so I can see all the horrible (great? greatly horrible? horribly great?) deaths that I missed!

WHEW, talk about a rollercoaster.

I was on the edge of my seat, screaming with and cheering these siblings on through their attempts of Escaping the Cult.

I loved the description in this adventure as well. Sometimes, it’s hard for me to imagine scenes while I’m reading. Not here. I was easily imagining everything going on.

A super read, in my opinion.

Ruby's family lives in a cult. Her brother broke the rules and has been taken. All Ruby wants to do is save him and escape. There are many choices to make the wrong one, and it's game over. Can you escape? Full of action and choices.

No one writes emotionally challenging situations like Angel Van Atta, so I was ready to go on this journey. What I was not ready for, was how difficult the choices were going to be and how brutal the ways in which I was going to die by choosing which path to take.

This was the most difficult of the TNTD books I’ve read so far, but I loved it because of that. I was literally torn apart whenever I had to make a decision, even more so because of the emotional charge behind the story. Not only that, but there are some seriously creepy scenes!

As I listened to this in audiobook format, I didn’t know how the “Choose Your Own Adventure style was going to work, but I have to say that it was a great experience, and the narration by Andrea Emmes was likewise.

If you want to have a different listening experience trying to escape a cult, then this is the one.

Thanks to the author for the audiobook and this is my honest opinion.

Another fantastic instalment in the Try Not to Die series! In this one you follow Ruby as she attempts to rescue her brother and get them both out alive. The obstacles they face are not as simple as cult members - they find themselves in some terrifying situations!

I actually only died 3 times in this one, but the deaths were fun (brutal) and creative. It’s a great fast-paced read that keeps you on your toes the entire time. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoy the Try Not to Die series and this one doesn't disappoint. The horrific deaths while trying to the escape the Cult are very descriptive. Needless to say, I died a few times. I also like being able to read it through without dying! I can't wait to see what the next one will be about. I received a copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Try Not to Die Escaping the Cult the the second interactive book I've read in this series. I like that in the first part of the book you get to make a choice how to proceed and then find out if you would have survived the challenge. If you just want to read the story, there is a section of the book that gives the story without the options.
I was a little hesitant about the subject matter and was really happy with how Angel handled it, giving enough to scare you without traumatizing you. I read it in one sitting.
What happens when Ruby is picked to be a chosen to go to the house of the elders? The family has already drawn the ire of the elders for their son's use of forbidden technology. Will Ruby/you have what it takes to save her brother and herself?
I really like Ruby's backstory and the loving family who have helped to make her who she is. The cult itself is more than a madman's delusions. Who or what is Father Gabriel? Read and find out. Oh, and try not to die.

Try Not To Die Escaping The Cult is the newest edition to the TNTD series. . I’ve have really been looking forward to getting my hands on this one for three reasons
1). It’s a TNTD Book -that’s a no brainer. 2). Angel Van Atta all so a no brainer.
3). I’m completely obsessed with cults and things of this nature.
So when it was announced I was beyond excited, bring on the disturbing deranged fanatics. Ruby and her brother Sammie are in need of serious help escaping and you will be right there with them helping to make those hard choices on which way to go and what to do next. There is death around every corner so make sure you choose correctly. I only died three times while choosing what to do. Thank you Mark Tullius and Angel Van Atta for this frightfully fun opportunity to die while Escaping The Cult. I’m really hoping there will be a sequel to this edition coming soon, very soon.

Wildly imaginative! Great, multi-faceted characters. Very unique and interactive plot. Vivid descriptions. This was a fast-paced, super cool, interesting read, that I found I did not want to put down! Kept me glued to the pages from the first page to the last.

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

I've missed these choose-your-own types of books. I used to love these when I was younger.

I've also come to realize that I shouldn't make a decision on my own because I'll end up dead or killing others in the process.

A fun time.

Who doesn't want to escape a cult, this is your chance but be careful as each decision has consequences. I think I died about 5 or 6 times before I was through the story and got free. Totally fun to read and see how brave you can be.

A book written by Angel Van Atta and Mark Tullius? Yes please!! Angel is one of my favorite Indie authors so I will read anything by her and I love the Try Not To Die Series. Mark Tullius is a genius for doing them. Of course I died a few times (6) but I eventually escaped!
