Imagine Don Freeman'sCorduroy meets Bonnie Becker's The Christmas Crocodile in this character-driven, funny, and heartwarming holiday classic about a very special sloth.
In Sloth Finds His Perfect Tree, Sloth arrives at a Christmas tree "forest" in early December with a very important find the perfect tree to call his home. Simple, right? Well, not exactly. All the beautiful trees are disappearing faster than Sloth can blink. Still -- with a little persistence, a lot of heart, and more than a few hilarious mishaps, Sloth's journey is one you won't want to miss.
Stunning illustrations by award-winning artist, Claudia Gadotti, perfectly capture all of Sloth's big emotions—from his "I've got this, eventually" face to his "this is probably fine" look. You'll find yourself giggling and cheering Sloth on as he searches for "the perfect Christmas tree to call his home". Spoiler Sloth does not have the fastest journey, but his patience pays off.
Sloth Finds His Perfect Tree is the first book in the Sloth Storiesseries by Christie Nicholls. Christie wrote the book after Sloth magically appeared in her home to help her family while she experienced a health crisis (yep, you read that right—Sloth just showed up like a fuzzy, slow-motion superhero). When things were tough, Sloth was always there, holding out his paw for support, helping them gain strength—and teaching them that even slow progress is still progress.
Christie Nicholls is a Los Angeles based SAW (stand-up comedian, actor, and writer). After earning a PhD in Performance Studies at UCLA, Christie finally admitted that she wanted to perform herself. Whether in front of a camera, or a live audience, Christie will embody any role, from traditional leading lady, to Jane Fonda, to Richard Nixon, to her original characters, to your Mom (no really, she’s excellent at impersonations). When Christie isn’t writing, or performing, or prank calling, she’s playing with her daughter Vickie, her husband Weasel, and their two rescue mutts Maverick and George Carlin. Or she's probably in the hot tub. Yep, check the hot tub. Christie is a splendid conversationalist.
Cute lovely story The illustrations were beautiful and tell the story of Sloth who tries to find his home among the fir trees. Sloth is no ordinary sloth and he wears pajamas and a bow tie. Worse in his search he finds that the trees are disappearing fast. What does he do? Does he get a good tree? Cute read for older children.
This beautifully illustrated book tells a refreshingly original, heartwarming holiday tale. Look out, it's going to make every family want their own adorable sloth in pajamas!
