I’d seen bad boys before, but he had it all and more. The rippling muscles covered in tatts, the piercing eyes hiding dark secrets, the silky voice that could make a girl come with just a whisper . . .
He was exactly the type of guy that would get me in trouble, but when he jumped off the stage, inked skin glistening with sweat and breathed his seductive words into my ear, I couldn’t resist the temptation.
It was supposed to be the best one-night stand of my life, but fate didn’t let it play out that way. Things happened. I got upset. I got hasty. And worst of all, I got reckless.
After that disaster, I thought it was the last I’d see of him. But what I didn’t know was that I’d started something.
Something that could shatter the very thing I had worked so hard to protect.
I should have known back then that the most seductive things in life are also the most dangerous. —ĔĔĔĔĔĔĔĔ Reckless - Book One of Two Reckless 2- Book Two of Two (Coming Fall 2014)

Here is how it goes:
Forbidden Surrender (Vincent & Kristen 1) Secret Surrender (Vincent & Kristen 2) Beautiful Surrender (Vincent & Kristen 3)
Reckless is the sixth book in Priscilla West’s Forever series. Ms. West has an easy writing style with likable characters and intuitive text. This is a rock romance with a little bit of grit thrown in. The pacing was spot on with some surprising detours along the journey.
Riley is out with a friend listening to an upcoming rock band. She is enamored with the lead singer working his hot body on the stage.
"A shiver moved through me. My last boyfriend couldn't make a woman come if he had half a sex toy store and a map at his disposal."-Riley
Their eyes lock and she is invited backstage to meet him. Upon meeting him, she anticipates a double dose of steam in her future. Instead, she is turned off by his cocky attitude and rushes away and they are both left unsatisfied.
Days later, Riley is given her new work assignment. Her assignment is to go on tour with a rock band as their accountant. Imagine her surprise when the rock band she is going to be living with for the next two weeks is none other then "the band" she watched the other night. She is now face to face with that Hot Rockin' Body.
Jax is your typical broody rock star. Cocky on the outside and damaged on the inside. He is taken with Riley. Despite her best efforts to ward off his advances, it doesn't take long for her to be swooned by the tattooed bad boy.
"Whether you say yes or no tonight, there won't be any groupies-not as long as you're around. Since the moment I saw you, I've wanted you. No one else."-Jax
Jax and Riley follow a typical rockstar romance. Jax courts Riley. At first, Riley pushes him away. Eventually, she concedes their mutual attraction and takes the bait. Although I felt this was very typical, I thoroughly enjoyed the commitment Jax used to make Riley feel special. As the plot pushes forward, I felt a mixture of warmness, frustration, sexual tension, humor, and flat out giddiness. I guess you could say, I felt all of the colors of the rainbow with this read.
Around 85%, the story shifted and the mood become much richer. I was completely blown away with the depths the characters explored. It was a welcome surprise and left me wanting more.
"I couldn't tell you before and still look in your eyes. But I had to make a choice. It was either my past or you. And I chose you."-Jax
Reckless is one of those reads that you should jump in and brace yourself for impact. There was a lot going on and yet I was engaged the entire time. The main characters were likable and yet for the most part they both acted very immature. The band has some interesting characters and they enhanced the story with their easy going attitudes and banter filled dialogue.
Overall, my rating shifted from a two star all the way to a five star throughout the read. I can honestly say this book is not for everyone. If you get easily frustrated with stereotypical romance then you will not enjoy this book. If you are not a fan of the insta-lust/love syndrome then Reckless is not the book for you. However, if you like an easy romance, with a slice of conflict and a heavy shot of grit thrown in the mix then you will enjoy this read. I for one am thrilled to have received this ARC. I thoroughly look forward to continuing the story of Jax and Riley in the next book. Be forewarned there is quite a cliffhanger right as the action hits maximum speed. Bring it on Ms. West. I will be waiting!
This wasn’t my first book by Priscilla West. I have read her Surrender Series and enjoyed them but this one just fell a little bit short for me. I’m not sure exactly what it was missing or maybe it was just that I felt some parts were a little quirky for my taste.
I will say the last 10 15 percent was a bit intense and crazy. For me the ending was a little abrupt, but it does have me wondering what the next book will be about.
This is Jax and Riley story. These two could not have been more different, IMO. Riley is an accountant and Jax is a lead singer of a band called the “Hitchcocks.
You might think being an accountant Riley would be a bit straight laced but she wasn’t. She loves to have fun and one night while she is out with her friend listening to a band she locks eyes with the lead singer, who happens to be Jax and a spark flies between them. This spark sets a desire off in Riley that has her in one hot mess. And that is just the beginning!
Here is the gist of the story ~
The Hitchcocks are quickly becoming a successful band and need their finances put in order. When the manager hires an accountant to get them on track things get a little complicated. When Riley shows up for her first day and realizes she has already met the sexy lead singer Jax, she quickly realizes she is in trouble. She still has that intense feeling she had the first time she met him.
Riley knows it won’t be easy but she insists that she can do the job, stay professional and keep Jax at arm’s length. Jax would love to have things be more about pleasure than business but goes along with Riley’s wishes knowing sooner or later something will crack.
I will say these two had off the charts chemistry! Their sexual connection was intense and a few of the sex scenes left me a little hot and bothered. : ) But then again when there is a hot tub involved everything gets HOT! lol
But…there was more to Jax then just his hotness. Jax has a painful past that he keeps buried deep so no one can stir up those memories. And Riley has issues of her own that has caused her to be insecure and reserved.
As Riley and Jax attempt to keep their relationship on a business level and become “friends, Riley slowly starts to crack and so does Jax. But when their past and present lives crash into each other things get messy.
While this may not have been a favorite for me, if you enjoy rock star romances I would definitely recommend that you read Jax and Riley’s story. Even though Jax comes off as your classic sexy rocker manwhore, there was so much more to him. I loved getting to see his sweeter and caring side of him. Honestly, all of him made up for what I thought Riley lacked. I liked her but I did have those “roll your eye moments and that just bugs me.
I guess sometimes no matter what you do, or how much you try, it's just not working. That's how i felt about this book. I tried so hard to like the plot and the characters but i just couldn't connect with neither.
I don't always ask for the amazing read that will blow my mind away, and my heart to pieces. Sometimes i like to read easy, sweet and yeah over the top books, but Reckless, was beyond that.
Right away the story starts with a weird situation going on, an incident so fake and overdone, weird and random. Thank God it gets better but not by much. The rest of it as much absurd as that first scene.
Riley and Jax are building an extremely grotesque relationship. There is no chemistry between them for the biggest part, no feelings and they are not even very likeable in general. I couldn't even like the secondary characters which is actually a given. I always find a good secondary character to connect, well not here.
Now a few words about the story, Jax is a charismatic(?) lead singer in an up-and-coming band, Riley is an airheaded accountant that tries to solve the band's financial problems. The two of them hit it up and boom there is a romance blooming. Anyway, i guess it wasn't for me!
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- The first concert felt like a dream sequence, but sadly it wasn't. - So many genres tangled up in one book, the stories made no sense. - I loved the hot-tub scene. It was so hot and really the only moment that felt real and absolutely genuine. - I liked their Hitchcock talks. - Cliche writing. - One-dimensional characters.

I just finished this book and WOWSA! What an ending..although I hate to say it; but there is a bit of a cliffie! The last ten percent of the book though, upped my star rating by a whole star!! It was intense and now I will be eager for the next book!
This was a rockstar book, that featured a studly hero named Jax. He is the lead singer of the "Hitchcocks," and they are quickly rising to stardom. There are some financial problems arising though, and the manager hires an accountant to get the bands spending on track. Riley is called in to whip the bands finances in shape, and to her embarrassment, she realizes that she has already met Jax at one of the smaller venues that he played at. That night was burned into both their memories as the major sexual intensity between this couple was unforgettable.
Riley insists that business and pleasure do not mix, so she chooses to ignore the sparks that are flaring between the two of them. Jax, on the other hand; is taking her resistance as a challenge..and he NEVER backs down from a challenge! Considering they are travelling on a tour bus around the country, it gets very hard to ignore the chemistry they have. Riley also quickly finds out that there is way more to Jax than just his rockstar personality. Will she give in to her blazing desire for Jax? Or will she be able to stick to her convictions and keep things platonic?
This is their story, and it won't disappoint fans of rockstar romances filled with hot sex and even hotter men! Jax is your typical slutty rockstar; but surprisingly there is way more to him than meets the eye. I fell for his sensitivity and his thoughtfulness. He was a true romantic at heart, and he really took the time and care to make sure that he showed Riley and good time. Riley bugged me a bit. I found her character to be annoying at times; more because I felt that she was quite demanding. At times when she was upset, she wanted to deal with her emotional "issues" at the worst possible times for Jax. I felt like slapping her and saying, "He's in the middle of a fricken concert..leave him the heck alone!" Towards the end though, she redeems herself in my eyes by the way she stands up for Jax when there is some major trouble.
Once again, I have enjoyed another one of Priscilla West's stories. I find that I love her style of writing, and her heroes always seem to love their women fiercely, which is something I adore from my heroes! I am already eager for the second book in two book series to come out! I am not a fan of cliffies; but I did feel that this one wasn't as bad as some of them are. This ending was explosive though, and I was on the edge of my seat while reading it! I can't wait to find out more about Jax and his past! Ms. West is an author who I definitely have on my auto buy/read list from here on out!
Thank you to Net Galley for this ARC that is due to come out Aug.4/14
Initially Read: July 2014 (review written) Re-Read: August 2015
The books I have previously read by Priscilla West have been easy to read and this one was no different. I absolutely loved reading and also enjoyed her Surrender series as well. This book is of the same standard.
I liked how the story began- Riley is at a bar where a band is scheduled to play. The raw sexual magnetism of the singers voice draws her towards the stage via fighting through the crowd and bitch slaps. Said singer singles her out and tells her to meet him backstage. Their encounter ends with Riley leaving him with blueballs, getting her own back on him humiliating her and pissing her off. It was a great beginning to the book. The next time they meet I thought was just as enjoyable to read about. She got hired by the band, unbeknownst to her who they are. He is being chased by an angry mob and she ends up having to pepper spray a guy off him.
Besides all the game playing between them, which was fun to read as I couldn't predict how the other would up the stakes and get their own back, their interactions were actually quite sweet.
I liked that at the start of the book Jax is just a hot rock star who enjoys playing games. But as Riley gets to know him, he is actually a normal guy who is sweet, she is able to see that there is something behind the bad boy rock star façade. Then at the end you discover he has an extremely troubled past which has left him with some issues. I liked the development of Jax's character as the book progressed. The further I read, the more I loved him. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that Jax had to deal with tons of shit in his life as I loved him, but then if he hadn't I would have had this amazing book to read.
I liked that Riley is a bad ass chick. Later on you find out that she wasn't always like that and that she doesn't really see herself as that. Come the end though, she is.
The last few chapters, which centre around Jax's past/upbringing, I found to be really engaging. Near the end of the book there is a single chapter told from Jax's POV. I loved this as the rest of the book is told solely from Riley's POV. This chapter is in the past from his childhood and doesn't touch any of the present events. It showed you a glimpse of what he had to live through as a child, the abuse. I found it added to the image I had of him, a torchered soul, from the bits he told Riley about. To be honest, it just made me love his character more.
There is a big build up to the ending of the book which, to me, did not disappoint. I knew this book was going to end on a cliff-hanger and what an awesome one it was. I didn't expect what happened at the end which was great. This explosive ending was an awesome way to end the book and has left me eager to read the next.

When I started this, I found I really liked where it was headed. I thought this was just going to be another innocent girl corrupted by the bad boy rockstar. Turns out, Riley Hewitt could hold her own. So much so, that she left the rockstar playboy, Jax Trenton, with blue balls. Intentionally.
Riley is an accountant who was out trying to enjoy a quiet Saturday night at the bar with her friend, Jen. Quiet turned into an impromptu show from "The Cocks", Jax's band. While serenading and rocking the crowd, his sight zoned in on Riley. I'm not one for insta-love and I felt that that's where it was headed, but that wasn't the case. When Jax's set was over, he jumped off of the stage in search of Riley. When he found her, the only words he had for her was, "Backstage. Twenty minutes."
Riley being the spontaneous-no-holds-barred-go-getting accountant that she is, jumped on the opportunity to rock with the rockstar. She had to sneak past security and then pick Jax's lock, only to later find out that he was going to have her stand in a line-up of girls for his choosing. Which was a bad move on Jax's part because she ended up playing his little game as well, leaving him with blue balls. She figured she wasn't ever going to see him again so she wouldn't reap any repercussions of not satisfying the rock god.
Then when Jax's label sees that they are in need of financial help, guess who just so happens to get hired to whip the band in shape financially?? The Accountant.
They kept a game going between one another to see who will cave first.
The attraction was there, but I'm glad they didn't jump right into a love story.
There were some skeletons in this story and I found them very interesting. I completely enjoyed the banter between the two. There is a cliffhanger, but the cliffhanger is explosive so be ready! I really liked Riley at the end. There's nothing like loyalty. Definitely will read the next book(s) in this series!
I was offered an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you hun!!
Reckless lives up the expectations I’ve grown to be accustomed to with Ms. Priscilla West. It has romance, steam, feeling, intrigue, and suspense. Everything I look for in a book. ♥♥
It was an interesting dynamic to see a rocker (who you had already met in the Surrender Series) and an accountant pairing. I mean, who would have thought, right? I thought that with Jax being a badboy sex god that this love match with Riley (“the accountant) wouldn't work but Priscilla proved me wrong. Riley was pleasantly no bookish doormat and had fire and wit. Too bad though that her background wasn’t expanded on more thoroughly. I would have liked to learn more about her.
Other than that, everything flowed and enraptured me from the beginning. It was so real and filled with genuine, raw emotion that proves that in one night: one night of temptation and recklessness can change everything. Now, with the odds stacked against them, it’s just a matter of when the shoe falls and where the pieces lie for them to build toward their futures.
How will it all turn out for them? And with tensions rising and past secrets revealing themselves, is Jax and Riley’s explosive love meant to be? Or was it doomed from the very beginning? Read and you will find out!
#Get ready for a heart stopping and heart wrenching read guys! Priscilla West leaves you hanging on to her words from start to finish with her ingenious writing and that startling cliffhanger!!
I look forward to more from this author and hope to see more of the interactions between Jax and his bandmates (and their separate histories) as well as Riley connecting with them further in addition.
Until then, pick up your copy when it it released! August 4th guys! Mark your calendars!!

Review And..again..Ms West delivers on another one of her romance novels. Who could have thunk that the pairing in this story could have really worked, but with Ms. West’s uncanny ability to mesh two opposites together.it more than worked!!
This was a fast and easy read and I had no trouble at all connecting with the main characters. I fell in love with Jax and Riley from the moment of their encounter. Ms West takes us through a spiral of character developments, showing how Jax is portrayed as a stereotypical “rock star but in actuality, he is a sweet, down to earth guy. While Riley first comes off as a boring accountant who in fact is the complete opposite, loving fun, trouble and is a bit of a bad-ass. Well at least until we learn about the demons she is hiding deep in her persona.
One thing about Ms. West’s heroes is that when they find their soul-mate…they love and they do it fiercely…this is another thing I love about her style of writing and her characters. Every time I pick up one of her books…I fall in love with the hero and dream about a man exactly like that in my life.
The ending is explosive and doesn’t disappoint…well except that I can’t wait for the next book in the series…this ends in a cliffhanger but it’s not as bad as you think.
Re-Cap
Riley and Jax meet while he is playing at a club that Riley is at. Eyes meet while he belts out his sexy alluring voice and next thing you know…he is asking Riley backstage. Riley being the lover of fun and trouble..accepts and this sexual encounter is marked up there as a “one night stand.
Well, that is until Riley finds out that she has been assigned to be the accountant for The Hitchcocks and who do you think the lead singer of this band is? Yup, you guessed it.Jax.and not only does Riley have to work with them, but she also has to go on the road for their tour. Don’t mix business with pleasure is Riley’s mantra in the beginning but the sexual tension and innuendos causes Jax to love breaking Riley down to be seduced.
How do you think this will end for the two of them?
A touching, sensual love story while fighting so many demons from the past.
Meh..I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. I love bad boy, tatted-up rocker stories, and I loved Riley from the first three books in this series. This one just kinda bored me. I really wanted to dnf it at 49%, but I pushed on. Riley and Jax are both a couple of big, whiny kids. Everything, and I do mean everything gets blown out of proportion by one or the other. The last couple chapters saved it from two stars...and then there's a cliffy. Will I read the next part? Maybe if it's free.
Mmm . . . at first I thought this book sounded like it would have a really good plot going for it, however it was a missed opportunity here on the author's part because it wasn't all so good. While I did enjoy (at least a little bit of it) the music and the whole rock band vibe of the storyline, but it was the main character that had let down this book. She was a bit of an airhead, even when I wanted to cheer for her when she showed some snark that I usually admire. And as for the whole chemistry she had with Jax, the main love interest of the book, well . . . as much as THEY seemed to think they had major chemistry . . . unfortunately I didn't buy into it. Sure it was THERE but there wasn't enough to make be believe in the whole steamy relationship. Still, I enjoyed the book for what it was, but I was still disappointed. Mostly because of the main character and the story that didn't have much of a story in the first place as sad as it is to say so. But hey, that's that.
* Thanks to the publisher on netgalley for providing me with a review copy of this book!
I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you Priscilla West for the opportunity to read your book. This was an enjoyable read. I am trying to cut down my NetGalley tbr list. I thought the story was well-written and cute. I liked both Jax and Riley. Jax is the rocker that has some secrets that he wants to hide, and Riley is the accountant that tries to resist her attraction to Jax, while trying to figure out if she is enough. I thought the romance was sweet, and I thought that their chemistry was great. It was a nice way to see how they fell in love. I want to read more books by Priscilla West. Overall, a great read.
Reckless starts out fast paced and intense from page one and never slows down. Riley is an outgoing girl who actively seeks out bad boys to get involved with. She feels that you’re less likely to get hurt that way because you know what you’re getting. Jax is the very definition of bad boy. He is the lead singer of a rock band that is on the fast track to superstardom. He is a tall, dark, sexy rocker and when he sets his eyes on Riley the sparks immediately begin to fly. They are both masters of playing games with the opposite sex and neither one of them is willing to back down. When a crazy set of circumstances forces them to be in close quarters with each other they will find that there is more between them than the initial attraction.
I loved this book from page one. The heat between Riley and Jax is scorching. From the night of their initial meeting, you just know that things are going to get intense between them really fast. While Riley is certain that Jax is only interested in one thing, she could not be more wrong. Their relationship develops with a lot of angst and bumps along the road. They are both convinced that they have the other one all figured out. The games that they play in the beginning are relentless, and neither one of them wants to be the first to give. Their banter is fresh and funny. This was almost as entertaining as the sex scenes. With as much tension that is built up between them, when Riley and Jax finally get together, it is explosive!
Things get even better as Jax and Riley really get to know each other. The stories of their pasts eventually come out and they are not disappointing. Yes, this is a good girl meets bad boy rocker story, however Jax has an appalling back story and is much more than what is seen on the surface. The last few chapters are so intense you simply cannot put it down.
The cliffhanger at the end of this book is one of the best I have ever read. It had me screaming in frustration and begging for the next book at the same time. I need more Jax and Riley!
Reckless was my first novel by Priscilla West so I was not familiar with her writing and did not know what to expect. Perhaps that is why for the first chapter or two I was wondering if Reckless was meant to be a parody. Several scenes were portrayed as over-the-top dramatic and clichés abounded, enough so that I questioned the intent of the novel. A few examples:
- Jax's sexual charisma/magnetism is so extreme that no woman is immune. Women faint. One woman apparently climaxed from the sound of his voice alone.
- As Jax walks through an audience, crazed female fans each grab a sleeve of his shirt which, naturally, rips down the middle leaving him bare chested, and seemingly unaware. (Didn't this happen often in 80's music videos?)
- Jax is literally run out of town by a mob of angry husbands/boyfriends.
For these reasons and others I was unsure exactly how Reckless was to be taken. As tongue in cheek humor or realistic? Once I adjusted to the writing style I was able to go with the narrative more.
Riley is an accountant but is hardly the straight laced prototype. She has a wild side which is how she meets Jax, lead singer of The Hitchcocks. They have a competitive relationship from the very start. Both are stubborn and prone to play mind games rather than be forthright. When Riley ends up on tour with the band for two weeks to oversee the band's budget and spending she is determined to keep their relationship professional... but where would the fun be in that?
It was interesting to see Jax and Riley's relationship develop and watch as their personal lives began to infuse with their work relationship. Both had troubled pasts (one more so than another) and I enjoyed learning more of their back stories. Considering Riley was only with the band for two weeks, the relationship seemed to progress at lightning speed and I was surprised at some of Riley's assumptions about a relationship that was so new and supposedly temporary. Additionally, Reckless ends on a pretty significant cliffhanger.
Fans of rock star romances will likely enjoy Jax and Riley's story.

I’m at a loss here, because I do not understand the average rating for this book, or the amount of 4 and 5 star reviews. Did we read the same thing? Because I tried with this, and it was painful. It’s such a disappointment too because starting with the idea of bad boy and rock star, who doesn’t want to read it? I love those tropes. But WOW. First chapter in and I knew this was going to be a mistake, but I powered through.
My most glaring issue here were the characters and how they were portrayed. I’m sorry but people in their 20s and 30s? They acted and spoke like they were 14/15 years old and in highschool. Has anyone involved with this actually aged past 20 years old? Or watched any sort of pop culture beyond late 90s/early 2000s teen dramas? Riley here sounds like an absolute airhead and like she would be exhausting to be around. And Jax I’m not sure what the appeal is other than he’s hot and a “Siren, making women orgasm with just his voice. But he’s hot because he has leather pants on.
Don’t even get me started on the horseback riding scenes and inaccuracies. This felt like no one cared to actually consider what was being written or how the scene played out. As long as it made sense in their head, it didn’t need to on paper. Because I’m telling you, those did not make sense. Don’t write about things you don’t know. Or use some common sense.
This one could not be redeemed for me. It was poorly written, had one dimensional and annoying MCs, miscommunication galore, and an embarrassing portrayal of “adult characters. It was absolutely absurd from start to finish, with no chemistry in between. I haven’t used TSTL in many reviews but it feels applicable with these two. It’s safe to say I will not be continuing.

3.5 Rock and Roll Stars**** (Arc kindly provided by Netgalley)
What would you do if you go out to a club and and accidentally make out with the sexiest lead singer you have ever seen, only to find out later that you have to work with him?
This happened to Riley; one night while out with her friend, they stumbled upon a club to have drinks. Pandemonium broke over the alluring Rock God lead singer of the band The Hitchcocks, the sexy man summoned Riley back stage and being the adventurous party girl that she is, she accepted. Riley leaves him after a very sensual encounter only to find out the day after that she has been assigned to be the new accountant for his band while they go on tour. As tempting as is for her to be so close to Jax aka Sex on a stick, she doesn't like mixing business with pleasure but what she doesn't know is that Jax loves a challenge and he will stop at nothing to seduce her.
This book was very entertaining, Jax's Rock Star persona is one to make swoon and day day to anyone who reads the story, also in the beginning of the book I thought Riley's personality was badass but after about 70% when we learn of her demons she becomes weak and very insecure. The chemistry between the characters was highly sexual, I loved the writing style and the plot was mostly well executed. My problem was ultimately with the way the book ended, it was very abrupt and left me somewhat confused, I really hope this author is thinking about writing a second book right away because as of now the ending left me very unsatisfied.
By Day Riley is a serious accountant aiming to climb the corporate ladder...but at night she likes to really let her hair down. Deciding to go to a local bar and check out the band Riley and her friend...It is there that she becomes mesmerised by the rock god on stage(along with every other woman in bar!)
Jax spies Riley in the crowd and after the show invites her back stage. Trying to turn over a new leaf Riley really struggles with the idea of one last reckless night of meaningless sex...one last night wont hurt right?
Things become heated but after Jax's attempt at humour Riley swiftly changes her mind and leaves poor Jax hanging....
New day new direction, a business opportunity that will either make or break Riley is handed to her...accountant for a band that need some swift money management. Excited Riley jumps at the opportunity.
Jax can't stop thinking about Riley, she's different and feisty...What if he had the opportunity to spend more time with her? What if fate had something up her sleeve?
I love Ms West's books, hot juicy stories with lovable characters that you just want to read more and more about. I can't wait to see what Ms West has in store for Jax and Riley in book 2!
Riley goes to a bar that has a band play. The minute the band starts, Riley is drawn to the singer’s voice and can’t help but fight her way to the front of the stage. After the song, the lead singer asks her to meet him backstage. Riley does exactly that being the adventurous party girl she is. However, things do not go as she planned. The next day, Riley gets an assignment to follow a band on tour to control their spending and comes to find out it is with the lead singer that she met last night. Jax is a hot rocker. Riley and he are very good at playing games. Even though the heat is immediate, they develop a friendship. They get to know each other before anything heavy happens. I love books with the rock star vibe and I love how these two met, but I did not feel the chemistry. The story was there, the characters were there, but something was missing for me. These two get to know each other first. There are some nice moments, but there was nothing about them that made my heart ache or feel really drawn to them. The last 15% is intense and we find out about Jax. The problem for me was that I did not trust Jax’s feeling about Riley. The ending had a small cliffy.
Can a “rock god and a feisty accountant find perfect pitched harmony together? From their chance meeting at a concert to a twist of fate that leaves dedicated accountant, Riley actually joining the tour for Jax’s band to shore up their finances, there is something between these two that dares them each to let down their defenses and go for what their hearts want. But when the financial columns hit a sour note, Riley must remember her place, her job and her career, too bad every other part of her is screaming to be the one who breaks down the barbed wire barrier that keeps Jax just a little out of emotional reach, besides, a huge bonus is on the line for her. Meanwhile, Jax is struggling twice as hard as Riley to silence his inner demons and learn to show love, are their worlds so far apart that it is an impossible task? Timing is everything and they, too often, are out of sync with each other, until one disappearance and one motorcycle ride later, the barriers come crashing down only to reveal danger and an uncertain future.
Reckless by Priscilla West started out with all the promise of an excellent read, complete with the hot bad boy, the hot, cautious girl, the goofy supporting characters and a concert tour that spans much of the country in an over-the-top tour bus that reeks of extravagance. And then it veered into the fast lane, burning up the miles and the sexual tension while still playing to the fun side of life. Intriguing, yet filled with light-hearted banter and fun, as well as heart-to-heart moments, the more I read, the more I was hooked. Great dialogue, great plot twists and great characters that you do not always need to like at every moment, Reckless felt real, as if the reader were taken inside the world of the icons we call rock stars and tore the walls of mystique down to its bare essentials, real humans.

First let me say that I have quite a few books by Priscilla West on my "To be read" list but as usual, "So many books so little time..."
Secondly I also know that this book already came out in August on 2014 so I am late on picking this up and technically it shouldn't even be called an Advance Readers Copy since I am reading it now in February 2015. But what can you do... better late then never.
Thirdly here is my actual review of this book. I absolutely loved everything about this book. I loved Riley so much. You don't understand my deep love for her. She was strong & bad ass yet so vulnerable. Made me relate to her so much more. I love when characters you love actually show their flaws & weakness's. Lets not forget Jax, I mean hello wow just wow and as damaged as he is he still found a way to be desirable and lovable. I loved Sky, Kev, & Chewie they were definitely those supporting characters that you wanted to see more & you wanted them to make more & more appearances throughout. I will say Priscilla if you are reading this (not likely!!!) I would love to read more about them. Specially since you described Kev as a Ryan Gosseling look alike. I think it had all the elements of a good interesting read. It had the right characters that intrigued you, the conflict, & the plot twist to pull you in even deeper into the book. So much so that half way through reading Reckless I went online & purchased Fearless for my Nook. I wanted to be ready to start the next book. I wanted to know what was happening and how it ended. I was totally sucked in. I finished both Reckless & Fearless in 3 days. Yes its that good. I am so wrapped up in these characters that I am actually going to read the rest of this series. Incase you didn't know this is part of the Forever series. Each couple (a total of 3) has their own little standalone series so you don't really have to read the very first book in the series you can pick up whichever couple you would like to read about & then pick up the first book in their miniserise. In my case I was given this one so I read it but I am going to pick up the other 2 miniseries so I can have the whole Forever series read. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this book and I look forward to reading the others!

Jax is the lead singer of the Hitchcocks band. He is one the everybody goes to see during the band's concert even though all the band members play a good part in all their events. He looks like a mesmerising bad boy with the voice of an angel, which makes the crowds go wild. Is there another side to Jax though?
Riley is an accountant who had a brief encounter with Jax and thought that she would never see him again, that is until she receives an assignment to go and make sure that the band members curb their tendencies to overspend. Little does she know that the it is the same band in which Jax is the lead singer. When they meet, there are sparkling fires as they are both determined to rub each other the wrong way! Keep things professional and ignore the chemistry between them. An easy thing to do. Right?
I couldn't help but love Jax and Riley is a very strong main character but is there another side to her too? Will both of them be brave enough to divulge their secrets?
I loved this novel from beginning to end. I felt happy one minute, angry the next and the hurt and sadness were quite overwhelming. It was a real emotional rollercoaster. I would recommend this book to mature readers who like reading a good romance with a hot alpha main character and a strong and sexy female protagonist.
Reckless follows the story of Jax and Riley. Riley meets Jax at a bar one night, where his band is playing. Everything about Jax screams trouble. He has the bad boy look down. She knows she should stay away, but she can't. She is completely drawn to him. So when Jax singles her out to spend sometime with after the show, she can't resist. Unfortunately, that encounter does not go as planned. Riley doesn't think that she will ever see him again, but fate has other plans. She's hired by a band to help with their fiances and unbeknownst to her, it's Jax's band. Now Jax and Riley will be forced to spend time with one another. Will they be able to stop playing games and give into the attraction that they both feel? And will Jax's past come back to haunt them.
Reckless was a quick and enjoyable read. I really enjoyed Riley and Jax's story. Their banter was really enjoyable. I enjoyed the push and pull of their relationship. The last 10% of the story was really exciting. I am going to warn you that this book does end on a cliffhanger! I can't wait to see what will happen next for Jax and Riley. This is my first book by Priscilla West, and she has definitely made a fan out of me!

I was offered an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Priscilla West knows how to grab your attention and never let it go. Boy, did she ever in Reckless! I did not want to put this book down.
Riley, a dedicated accountant, was looking to relax and have some fun with her friend, Jen, at a local bar. Who knew a chance meeting with Jax, lead singer of a band, would change her life? When fate steps in, Riley and Jax don't stand a chance. Riley's firm assigns her to be the tour accountant for Jax's band. Can Riley remain professional when she is clearly attracted to Jax? Is Jax just looking for one more conquest?
We all have pasts, but some of us try to run, bury or hide from them. It doesn't always work. Sometimes our past comes back to try and ruin the future. Riley may be a dedicated accountant, but she has a wild side. Jax, the sexy lead singer, may be dark and brooding, but he does have a soft, sincere side. Riley and Jax have a sizzling chemistry. They both know how to push each other's buttons. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop, and how they handled problems that emerged. What an ending! I am glad I don't have to wait long for the next book.
I really enjoyed the majority of this book ... the light playful nature of the first two thirds was terrific. The main characters had chemistry without being too over the top or steriotypical. There was a great forbidden romance brewing. There was a lot of sarcasm and button pushing. The song lyrics were well written. All things that I typically enjoy in this type of story ...
But then something odd happened. In the last third of the book the entire tone changed and the book turned into a crazy mellowdrama! Suddenly the playfulness was gone and in less time than it takes to say 'hello' the characters were in an incredibly serious relationship and both had dark hidden pasts. The unnecessary relationship drama was far too over the top and really put a dent in the story.
This is the second book I've read by this author ... both offered free for review via Netgalley ... and for the most part I have enjoyed the reads. They are not without flaw (nothing's perfect right?), but entertaining enough to keep me reading through to the end. Warning: This book ends in a slight cliffhanger.
One bad thing about receiving an ARC to read and review is that you're that much further away from getting to read the second book! I'm a huge fan of Priscilla West so I couldn't wait to start reading Reckless. I devoured this book and loved every minute of it.
Riley seems like a straightforward accountant that is all business but she definitely has a feisty rebellious side to her. Jax is a rock and roll star who has all of the ladies drooling over him. He never opens up and really lets anyone in until he meets Riley. Jax can't seem to stay away from Riley even though she resists his charm. There is so much sexual tension between these two, it's intense!
I loved reading about their relationship progress and them start to open up to each other. I thought the other band members were really funny and were great characters. I didn't expect this to have such a cliffhanger ending and I can't wait to see where Jax and Riley end up! Amazing read!

Enjoyed..need more!! Fall 2014? Must start stalking!
This book has all the factors that make my heart go pitter..patter! A broken, extremely hot, tortured soul, rock god and a snarky girl that also has a closet full of demons that can also be called insecurities.. I loved watching these two come into themselves, trust each other and find something that looked a lot like love! What I didn't totally enjoy THE END!! Ugh..I need more, I was clutching my kindle at the end, wondering how the final dual would end...now what I am desperate for is MORE..JAX! Thank you for allowing me to read and review and can't wait for next book!
4.5 I devoured this in a matter of hours. Priscilla West's writing always flows so nicely I just breeze through the pages. There were so many things I liked about this story...rock star meets normal girl, will they or won't they get together, suspense, angst. The one thing I didn't enjoy...the cliffhanger ending! After the nail-biting conclusion, I did not see that coming! Now I need the next book! ARC provided for honest review.

Loved this book! It was a great combination of seduction, lust, humor, and adventure. I absolutely love Jax and Riley. The green room scene was freakin awesome at the beginning! You go Riley!
Title: Reckless Author: Priscilla West Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance Series or Standalone: Series (Forever #6) Rating: ★★★★
Review
I’ve been following a trend with my reading lately. Because of all the books I read for various blogs (including my own), I seem to be spending a lot of time reading authors that up until the moment I crack open a book and start, I’ve never had the pleasure of reading.
This is the case with Priscilla West and Reckless. Having never read one of her stories before, I had no idea what to expect, but was quickly shown, through style of writing, pacing and engaging characters, along with quite a few sweet and funny moments, just what kind of storyteller she is.
This book was everything I could have wanted and more.
The first thing I noticed about both Jax and Riley was that they weren’t the type of characters you’re normally met with in a romance.
Sure, Jax was the lead singer of a band (The Hitchcocks, not the Cocks I might add lol) so he had quite the cocky persona when you’re first introduced to him, but once you get past that, there was so many different layers to him. Broken boy, tender sweetheart and of course The Rockstar, among a few others. And as each layer was introduced, I found it extremely hard not to be like Riley and fall for him. He just came across that well.
On the flip side, we’ve got Riley. Who right from the first page shows that she’s not the weak willed heroine that’s desperately in need of saving. She’s a risk taker, take no shit, live life in the here and now kind of girl. Who just happens to hold down a stable job that she enjoys. A job that throws her smack dab into a life she’s in no way prepared for. The life of a rockstar.
These two played so well off each other, the buildup to their inevitable union almost as good as the aftermath. The joking, the games, the chase, I was engaged through all of it and then melting once the games stopped and they were swept up in each other.
This story took me by surprise in that, I was expecting more of a edgier read given that it was a rockstar read and what I got was one hell of a sweet and romantic one. If I hadn’t already been hooked on it that would have done it. Surprises when they happen while reading, make this reader a happy camper and the more romantic nature of this despite who Jax was, worked perfectly.
But no romance is without conflict and while this one seemed to come out of nowhere, it set up perfectly for the story to continue in another book. So if books that end with cliff-hangers or open ends where you feel as though there needs to be more told aren’t your thing, you might wanna stay away from this, but since both books are already released, you can get the complete story right away with no waiting.
Learning how Jax started, what causes him to act out during this story, was great. It made me sympathize and adore him that much more. Yes. I admit it, I’m officially part of the Jax Effect. *sighs* I didn’t go into this expecting to walk away with a book boyfriend, but here we are.
Add everything I’ve said about to the way this story just flowed to the point where I devoured it, never putting it down once in the two hours it took me to read it, and for this reader, it was time well spent on a story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
If you’re looking for a fast paced romantic read with a little bit of rocker and steam thrown in, then this is one you’ve definitely got to read. Now all I need to do is find myself a Jax and I’ll be all set.
My thanks to the author and NetGalley for giving me the chance to read an ARC of this.
