In this edition...

Having placed a bounty on the heads of the alien Klin and Kracori races, humanity must now face the desperate wrath of mankind's worst enemies, who have once again joined forces for a preemptive strike against the Earth. Their plan is brilliant...and only the special abilities of ex-Navy SEAL Adam Cain can save the planet.

It's a frantic race against time, as Adam and Sherri Valentine arrive on Earth just in time to help mount a ragtag defense against the Kracori fleet. But will it be enough?

Meanwhile, Riyad Tarazi is on his own, carrying out the dangerous assignment of verifying the location of the Kracori homeworld of Elision. Riyad soon discovers he's in the middle of a hornet's nest of deadly aliens, every bit the equal of the human supermen. Will he succeed, or will he become just another casualty of a galaxy growing ever more hostile to mankind?

In addition, the evil Englishman Nigel McCarthy is up his old tricks as well, and his actions resurrect the sleeping giant of the Juireans. It's the last thing the humans need is another deadly alien race devoted to their destruction.

How can it be that the same lame joke about aliens not understanding human idioms is repeated multiple times in all the books? Overall, it feels more and more like a macho thriller themed with sci-fi. The aliens are a bit too human-like, but clearly inferior.

Book 7

Book 7 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot is predictable and the main lady has become annoying in her jealousy over Adam.

A great read

It's not Asimov, but it's still a great read and it's encouraging that the quality of the writing is much better than most. Highly recommended.

I have not done these books justice in the reviews department. I think I reviewed book 4 but didn’t review any of the previous books for some strange reason. Then, again, I skipped a review of book 5. But, now that I’ve read book 6, I need to do a review because these books are good and others need to read them, all of them!

Adam Cain has got to be the luckies guy in the universe. He gets into more trouble than anyone around but he’s always able to stay alive one way or another, so far. It is really great to be reading a series of sci-fi books where Humans are the toughest dudes around and other aliens know that tangling with us is going to ruin their day.

Up to now, we’ve pretty much ruined everyone’s day in the galaxy. The Jurieans are cowering in a tiny part of the galaxy, the Kracori are hiding somewhere and the Klin certainly don’t want to be found. But you know that none of these races are going to just stay put. They all have visions of grandeur and think they are the greatest there ever was or will be. The Kracori have even tried to attack Earth, which Adam Cain managed to stop but the Earth and Humanity have about had it with being attacked.

Riyad Tarazi has been sent on a mission to find or confirm the location of the Kracori’s home planet. He has a set of coordinates, but they came from a suspicious source and have to be confirmed. He is a very resourceful guy and will certainly get the job done, but he could be putting himself at risk because if this location is really where the Kracori live, he might not make it back to confirm anything!

In the meantime, while Adam and Sherri are cruising back to Earth, they run across some unmistakable engine signatures of the Kracori. They follow this trail and find that a huge armada of Kracori are on their way to Earth to eliminate once and for all the dreaded Humans.

Of course Adam can’t let this happen, but it also happens that the Earth has sent all its forces out to pound on another alien race that is causing a lot of trouble on purpose as a distraction for the Kracori. So, Adam finds he doesn’t have much to defend Earth with but he’s got a few tricks left that just might get the job done. If he can defend Earth once more, he'll probably have to go rescue his friend Riyad and he might, just might run into his mortal enemy, Nigel McCarthy!

This was a really good book. Hard to put down. Everything fits together very well. You follow several different story lines but they all seems very logical and make consistent parts of the book. Adam Cain is a big part of almost everything but he can’t do it all and that shown in this book.

One thing I did notice is that the editing for this book wasn’t up to par as in the past books. There were a lot of small two- and three-letter words missing. It’s hard to read something when it doesn’t make sense. I think the writer was thinking faster than he was writing and some of these little words get missed. Need better editing.

Still, this is one of the best sci-fi series I've read and I look forward to reading the next book.

The one thing I really, really like with this book series is that the humans are not the underdogs and wimps as they are in a lot of other books series. We might have been behind technologically at the start but we do kick butt and we are not to be messed with.

This book appears to be a build up for a final “clobber time between the humans and the evil Klin and the Kracori. It seems like the Juireans might join the party as well.

As before the book focuses on the exploits of Adam Cain and his friends. In two separate threads we follow Adam Cain as he discovers the imminent Kracori threat and Riyad as he investigates the alleged whereabouts of the Kracori home planet. Both threads are very enjoyable reads with plenty of opportunity for some good displays of old-fashioned human violence to the usual stunned surprise of the aliens witnessing it.

In a third thread we follow the scumbag Nigel McCarthy. Those parts were probably the parts that I liked the least. I rarely like to follow the subversive activities of the devious and scheming bad guys.

The book is very much in the style of the previous ones and, as I wrote above, it advances the story nicely in what appears to be a build up for the final confrontation. I am quite looking forward to read the next one.

You can stop now. It's only getting worse!

I pass forward most of the text. Started from the last novel, the series went down hill. It feels completely as if another person wrote these last two books. The side joke, bad references, and self talk keep interrupted the flow of words. You really question is whoever wrote the words is even out of high school yet, because adult don't talk like this. I keep reading the last two book out of curiosity to see how it ends. However, it has become extremely difficult to keep reading.

Great read excellent adventure.

I only have one criticism, editing in this book is very bad. Between misused words to spelling and the combining of words it is very bad. I trust that someone with the power to change this will take heed. The E books should be fairly simple to fix. Future books should have a human reader , or two, check.

Bad writing. Good plot. Lots of repetitions within the story, not just to bring in context from the previous stories. Typos. Still, I couldn't put it down because it was an exciting distraction from real life. Humorous, cheeky and full of human heroism which was somehow come together to form an entertaining story line.

Again, awesome...

I start each and every book with the anticipation of what's to come next, anxious to reach the end to find that out. But, I reach the end and feel like I just lost friends. In sad that the next is the last in this series, but sissy excited to read the stand alone Adam Cain exploits. Highly recommended!!
