Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trope: second chance novella Angst: 😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥
Ugh! I just love Cate C Well's writing so much! This is everything I could have wished for Dario's daughter. Except longer. I could have used longer, because it was only a novella. Which is fine, I guess, lol. Sweet and angsty and totally left with a smile on my face. I would LOVE to see more from this series .
This is only 2 chapters long. I loved it. Of friggin' course Dario & Posy's daughter is adorable and smart-as-hell.
I kinda wish there was an extended epilogue where we could see their life together because I love them. Wyatt's reactions in the beginning felt super realistic to someone being thrown into the deep end tbh.
Made Man tells the story of Mira, Dario and Posy's daughter. She and her neighbour Wyatt grew up together and began dating in their adolescence. Mira is obviously a mafia princess, but Wyatt is from a wealthy country-club type of family. When a shooting happens, Wyatt finds out about Mira's family and essentially gets chased away by Dario. Eight years later, Wyatt and Mira are reunited through a chance encounter. Will Wyatt finally have the guts to become a made man for Mira?
I am pleasantly surprised by Made Man. I didn't think it would work because of how short the story is, but Cate C. Wells made it work. Mira and Wyatt's second chance romance is a short but intense read, packed with action, swoon, and spice. I loved it so much! And the cover is just so perfect.
This was a nice quick light mafia, some spicy times story to fit in between errands. The book starts off with Mira and Wyatt as teenagers in love. He is from a well to do average family, and she is a mafia princess. A mafia thing happens 3 weeks before prom, and Mira’s father chases Wyatt away. Wyatt breaks up with Mira over the phone and devastates her. Fast forward 8 years and Mira and Wyatt reconnect. Is Wyatt man enough win her back? Does she even want him anymore? Will her father ever accept an outsider into the fold? I am not spoiling it here, because this book will take you less than hour to read!
This was going to be a solid 4/5 but then we got to the sex scene and I was so turned off. Mainly by this paragraph: “But not for stuffing my poor, little, innocent pussy with that overstuffed beef sausage you’re packing with no warning at all? I can taste it in the back of my throat, Wyatt. Why oh why are you calling his penis an “overstuffed beef sausage?!?!?! This is not dirty talk nor is it hot. It just pulls me out of the story immediately. She also then describes his penis as “his twenty-five-ounce-tall-beer-can cock. Just no. No, thank you.
Spicy, second chance novella that starts from senior year in HS and fast tracks right to 26 years old. For being so short, it actually has a bit of depth! I say this a lot with novellas, I want more which isn’t the point of it, but this one had so much potential to really dig into the angsty second chance! Overall, it’s a super quick, spicy novella that I enjoyed.
I loved Run Posy Run, and it took me a moment to realise this is Dario and Posy’s daughter’s story!
Cate C Wells has a knack for writing stories that make me a little uncomfortable (they’re not feel good romances, and tend to have a gritty feel) but really stick with me.
This was a great novella. Only 50 pages but the story felt surprisingly full. I’m still not sure how I feel about the sex scenes (lol) but I know I’ll re-read this at some point.
I had low expectations because I know this was written for an anthology, and because I didn't really know if I wanted to read a book about the kids of a couple I read the book of, but this absolutely hit. I do wish it was a full book and longer and more developed, but it was 50 pages of goodness with no filler.
As always, a 5 star story that is funny, sometimes sad, and sexy. Mira is wonderfully slightly deranged and Wyatt is the person who grounds her. After hearing me laugh often while reading this story, my husband broke down and read it.
Awe...M&W forever. Loved this short but sweet steamy story. Wish we could get a entire series this family. Dario will always be my favorite Psychopath.
SERIOUSLY Wyatt????? I’m irrationally mad that he didn’t once look for her and kept living his life. Also I was confused by the “notes app scene…was this him trying to show Mira that he’s been thinking about her?
