Ok, so I got sent this book on BookFunnel by the author as an ARC for an early reader review. I was sort of sus because I'm normally not too big on romance novels that are under 200 pages because they normally just read like a straight up XXX movie. THIS BOOK IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT! It was nice to be able to read a sweet book with a little spice in one sitting while waiting for my chicken to cook! (Sorry, I know that is random, but in this house, Saturday is meal prep day.) Was there adult content? Yes, but it wasn't all adult content, there was an actual story in there. They have known each other for years, and they are just now figuring out that they love each other. Like "in love" sort of love, not "'At a boy" love. How cute is that? Is it some big crazy storyline? No, there is a great storyline, but at no point are you sitting there saying, "Ok, we get it, can we please get on with it already." The characters are loveable, and honestly, I'm salty for the first time in a VERY long time that a guy in a book is a fictional character! So, if you are a person like me that normally doesn't do the shorter romance novels because they try to cram 300 pages worth of spice into 100 pages, which honestly doesn't work, or you are new to the genre, this is a great book for you!

A quick, easy, steamy read with a perfect HEA. I loved watching these two best friends realize that their childhood feelings have become adult love. Nicknames (lovin� Scraggle), banter, tender moments, doubts, devotion, humor, a bit of drama and so much more. Oh and that yucky Davis. I enjoyed Abby and Evan’s love journey.

This one seriously tore me apart and put me back together. How is it possible that such a relatively short book could do that to me!? I love them. I love Evan and Abby both separately and as a couple. They are meant to be together and I don’t know how they didn’t figure that out sooner! Short, sweet and steamy. I’m a big fan!

Evan and Abby OMG !!! The way these two hooked me so completely , the the way their story pulled at all my heartstrings and had me laughing out loud , smiling like crazy even sobbing like a baby , yelling outta pure frustration and kept me cheering so freaking hard . Well I honestly do not think there really are any perfect words to express how in love with this story I fell . I mean really who doesn’t love a great friends to lovers who become roommates love story with a twist . These two have known each other since they were kids , always right there for each other through the good and the bad . What Abby doesn’t realize is that Evan has been in love with her well , for what seems like forever. Something happens, something that changes everything and all I’m going to say is that Evan finally gets his chance to win over his best friends heart ❤️. I swear I think my heart was torn right out of my chest while reading this oh so beautiful and emotional story . But of course just as she always does , Elyse managed to put it right back together again!!

THIS I PROMISE is a friends-to-lovers romance that is all-around entertaining. The focus is on the two main characters and their will-they-won’t-they chemistry, which is top notch. I think the friendship base was really well done; it’s believable and easy. The addition of hearts in their eyes felt like a natural progression of their relationship. The cherry on top is the absolute perfection of the bow-chicka-wow-wow scenes. This romance is smooth and eminently enjoyable.

Okay, so Elyse Kelly is one of my favorite authors for short and spicy novellas that me me swoon, and she definitely delivered with “This I Promise,� the sixth book in the Between the Sheets series.
This is Evan and Abby��s best friends to lovers romance. Things are definitely complicated for these two, as Abby discovers that she is pregnant with another man’s baby, a man who wants nothing to do with either of them.
But Evan, being the total sweetheart that he is, completely stepped up to be there for his best friend, and realized that he’d always been in love with her along the way. I also thought Evan and Abby’s connection was very well-developed, especially for a novella.
I love Elyse Kelly’s writing style, and I’ve been a fan of her books for years. I truly enjoyed Evan and Abby’s love story, and I’m really glad I read it. This was absolutely a 5 star read for me!

This I Promise is a lovely blend of humor, angst, sweetness, steam, and OTT drama. I adore this couple so much—from their cluelessness about their real feelings for each other to the way they keep each other laughing no matter what. The devotion they display is heartwarming and swoony. The drama element is OTT ridiculous scandal and so interesting. I loved watching our hero react to the triggers and the way the wife responds? W-O-W! What a creative twist on the plot. This is quite a twisted and fun tale.

This I Promise is such a sweet, fun, charming short read. It hits just right on the spice. I love how attentive Evan is to Abby and how close they are as friends. It's amusing that everyone around them can see how they feel about each other while they completely miss what is right in front of them. I totally love how Elyse even dives into the life of the baby's daddy and fleshes out that side of the story too, while still keeping it light and fun and romantic. This is my second book in Elyse's Between the Sheets series and I can't wait to read them all. If you're looking for that short, easy to read, hard to put down, HEA then Elyse has got the books for you.

Evan and Abby are best friends, and when Abby finds out she is pregnant, her boyfriend doesn't want anything to do with them and Abby finds out some hard thing to swallow. Evan being the best helps Abby with whatever she needs. Soon they both realize who they are meant to be with and their story will make for the best Netflix movie. As always I love Elyse Kelly books and she has not disappointed me yet.

I love the novellas in Elyse Kelly’s Between the Sheets Series. Each one is short, spicy, and has a guaranteed HEA. They’ve all been winners, and Book 6, This I Promise, has one of my favorite tropes—best friends to lovers. Evan is the perfect guy who steps in when his best friend, Abby, finds out she’s pregnant. As time passes with Abby's pregnancy, they both don’t want to admit it, but their friendship is more than they let on. For only a short novella, Elyse Kelly incorporates a tiny bit of drama with Abby’s ex, but the steam and romance between Abby and Evan more than makeup for it.

Abby and Evan have been best friends for years. When Abby falls pregnant she finds out the man she thought was dating was a complete liar and was using her. Heartbroken she eventually turns to Evan for help and as always he steps up. As time progresses and they get closer feelings change to more romantic ones taking them both by surprise. I loved this book and both main characters. They are easily to empathise with and I was rooting for them from the get go. This is a well written book with a heartwarming story and plenty of steam. Another winner in the series.

This I Promise is part of Elyse Kelly's Between the Sheets Series. It is a great read for when you are short on time or just looking for an escape. It can be read in one sitting. Even though it is short, you still really get to know and love the main characters Evan and Abby. It has plenty of heat, angst, all the feels and an awesome HEA.
I have only read two books in this series so far but I plan to go back and read all of them. This series has made me become a real Elyse Kelly fan-girl for sure.

While normally I'd say I love a good enemies to lovers trope, I have to admit that I hold a special place for best friends to lovers too. And this one is done so organically that you can't help but wonder why it didn't happen sooner. And whether it's pregnancy hormones or the smoldering love for another, the sex is absolutely off the charts smoking hot. A truly fun read with a warm and cozy happily ever after.

Another fabulous quickie from Elyse Kelly! Sometimes you just need to bang one out and this book is perfect for that. Not the usual instalove, but these best friends to lovers are so adorably oblivious to their feelings for each other. And the villain getting exactly what he deserves is just 🤌🏻�

Quick fast paced read about two people who have been friend forever and suddenly relize there in love. Abby my life just got crazy the guy I was dating turned into a complete looser and I'm pregnant what am I going to do. Even my bestfriend is acting weird something is wrong when I find out what's happening all bets are off Abbie is mine and I'm finally realizing we're ment to be together. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This is a quick read with a best friends to lovers story. Evan and Abby have been best friends since middle school. When Abby gets pregnant Evan is the one to step up and care for her. You know these two love each other but are they willing to admit it. This is a fast read, exciting and fun and I could not put it down once I started it. I loved the ending too where the bad guy finally gets it. Great read.

Evan and Abby have probably been my favorite couple so far. This is full of baby daddy drama, best friends to lovers, and everyone can see the steam but them. Of course they’re the last ones to figure it out right?!
This series is an instalove series so keep that in mind as you’re reading!! Elyse does an amazing job bringing the heat but also there’s just enough plot to keep ya engaged and going.

It's a short but steamy story and one of many in this series. It's my first but I will definitely be reading the others. Evan and Abby are the best of best friends. Evan would do anything for her and the time has come for him to prove it to her. Abby's baby daddy turns into a no show loser and Evan steps in to fill his shoes. This is a friends to lovers tale with a happy ending but the in between is steamy and spicy!!
