They met in a steamy Florida bar—then spent a night of mind-bending passion. Two secret agents who each possess unique telekinetic gifts—and whose combined sexual powers leave neither of them unscathed. For ex-Navy SEAL Wyatt Kennedy, assigned by the Agency for Covert Rare Operatives to the most treacherous mission of his career, the woman in black leather and lace has just become more than a one-night stand. Because Faith Black is the sole barrier to the success of his mission—and not even Wyatt’s legendary seduction skills can penetrate her deep cover.
Faith’s psychic gifts make her one of the world’s most dangerous women—but she hides a secret pain she shares with no one. Until Wyatt. And Faith has an agenda of her own: using her unique powers to save someone close to her—a move that pits her against a man she thought she’d never see again. For as a deadly hurricane is unleashed across the eastern seaboard, desire reignites between Faith and Wyatt, exposing secrets that thrust them both into harm’s way. With the hurricane sweeping closer—and their erotic hunger for each other growing—these two wary hearts must come together to heal, to trust . . . and to harness the power of a storm that could consume everything in its path.
Sydney Croft is the alter-ego of two published authors who came together to blend their very different writing interests into adventurous tales of erotic paranormal fiction. Together, they developed a world where people with extraordinary abilities, like the power to control storms, could live and work with others like them. The series has been described as "Erotica meets the X-Men," and is unique in its own "erotic super hero romance" niche.
The authors behind Sydney Croft live in different states and communicate almost entirely through email, though they often get together for conferences and book signings.
I'm not even going to attempt to describe this third book in the wonderful 'ACRO' series (check out Heather's and Kathrynn's reviews). All I can say is that this book about a couple of secret agents who each possess unique telekinetic gifts and are on a mission to recover and destroy a potentially deadly weather machine was one wild ride! It had just about everything you could want in a book--it held my attention from the get-go. Incredibly inventive plot (like no other I've ever read before), wonderfully drawn characters (so real, I felt I knew them and how they would react to certain situations), brave, honorable, sexy, yet vulnerable heroes (there were at least 4 in this book), tough, smart, sexy, kick-ass, yet vulnerable heroines, and enough surprises and revelations to make you wonder how the writing team of Stephanie Tyler and Larissa Ione can keep coming up with all the exciting elements that make up this great series!
If you love a good, erotic (and I do mean erotic) romantic suspense, do yourself a favor and read this book. Although you could read this one as a stand alone if you must (the authors do fill you in on what's happened in the series so far), please don't short-change yourself. Read "Riding the Storm" and "Unleashing the Storm" first--it will make the reading less confusing when you get the background info on the ACRO agency and you will get your first taste of all the characters featured in this wonderfully exciting book. If you like to read books with unique plots, heroic couples who are brave yet vulnerable to the opposite sex, and like to read about said couples having lots and lots of passionate sex, then this is the series for you. It even made me cry at the end. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would--very well done!
Wyatt Kennedy with Telekenesis and Pheromone release superpowers and undercover agent Faith Black with her own special powers of manipulation of bodies.
If you love action, suspense, intrigue, mystery and hot erotic romance, than the latest in Sydney Croft’s ACRO series is definitely the book for you! Seduced by the Storm is the third book released in the series, and it is action packed with all of the above qualities. I also realized belatedly that Sydney Croft is also Larissa Ione, whose Demonica Series is also worth checking out! Now, on to the story
Wyatt Kennedy is an ex-Navy SEAL that now works as an Agent with the Agency for Covert Rare Operatives a.k.a. ACRO. He has the power of Telekinesis as well as an ability to seduce anyone by releasing highly potent pheromones. Wyatt is fiercely loyal to ACRO and while on a mission to destroy a computer that can cause terrifying weather phenomenon he meets Faith Black. Faith is also an agent, however she works for a different agency. One based in England and one that not even ACRO knows about. Her mission is to steal the same computer that Wyatt is sent to destroy, however, neither of them knows about the other
Wyatt and Faith meet in a bar one evening while on the same mission and have an instant connection. They share a night of passionate romance that seems like something more than just a one-night stand. Wyatt’s powers however, keep anyone from remembering sex with him after it happens, so when he runs into Faith the next day, and she remembers him, Wyatt knows there is something “special about her. The two of them embark on a mission together, slowly falling for each other while both trying to do the right thing for their Agencies. Can they manage to work together without falling in love, or worse, perhaps even killing each other?
Seduced by the Storm is exceptionally steamy AND well written. I also love a side story going on between two other operatives- Annika and Creed. This was almost like two love stories in one book! I enjoyed the amount of suspense and action that carried through until the end. The story didn’t lose steam as it went on; in fact I think it gained momentum. Wyatt and Faith’s relationship builds as the story progresses and I couldn’t help but root for them the entire time. There were definitely some angst-worthy moments that kept me reading long after I should have been in bed! This was a very satisfying installment of the ACRO series by Sydney Croft, and I cant wait for Taming the Fire which is the fourth book in the series and is scheduled to be released in the Summer of 2009.
YOWZA! Another scorching hot read in the amazing ACRO (Agency for Rare Covert Operatives) series, book three Seduced by the Storm has it all: an ingenious storyline, fast-paced plot, thrilling action, great writing, realistic and emotionally satisfying dialogue, paranormally enhanced superheroes/heroines that make terrific characters to love and root for, sinister uber-villains, and lots of erotic sex. I thought Unleashing the Storm couldn’t be topped, but Seduced by the Storm is just as good, maybe even better...I LOVED it!
I don’t think I can review this book well enough to do it justice (check out Julie, Auntee, Kathrynn, and Heather’s great reviews). I’ll just say that I’m truly impressed by authors Stephanie Tyler and Larissa Ione’s (the powerhouse writing duo that make up the alias Sydney Croft) ability to weave together and maintain so many fantastic elements to keep the books fresh and exciting. The ACRO series truly stands out in the paranormal romance/erotica genre by being incredibly well-developed and unique.
Wyatt and Faith both have telekinetic abilities and share a passion that ignites the pages. I’ve been a big fan of Creed and Annika since book one and have waited anxiously for them to find their HEA. I feel as if I’ve struggled right alongside them, and their journey of emotional healing brought tears to my eyes several times. There are some very touching moments between Remy and Haley and bittersweet events occur for Dev and Oz. Whew...all that romance and angst in one book! I laughed, cried, and stayed riveted to the very end, which came much too soon. Now I just have to wait impatiently for book four Taming the Fire to come out in May for my next ACRO fix!
What's hotter than a sexy secret agent with paranormal powers? A sexy secret agent with paranormal SEX powers! Yowza, "Seduced by the Storm" was the hottest book yet in writing duo Sydney Croft's ACRO/Storm series. I got not one, but two secret agents. I got the sizzling culmination of the ongoing secondary romance from the two previous books. I got a heart-wrenching conclusion to another secondary romance. And I got a dramatic, and quite erotic, side-story starring the couple from the first book! All this AND the hot story of the two secret agents.
Faith is an independent agent on a very personal mission. She has to steal a motherboard from the bad guys, use it to rescue her long-lost sister, and then turn said motherboard over to British intelligence in an effort to save other people from the menace that killed her parents. That she may have to kill a childhood friend turned evil is something she's faced and accepted. That she might die is something she's considered and set aside. That she'll meet the one man in the world who's perfect for her and then possibly lose him...now THAT she never dreamed of.
Wyatt figures he's working on his third life. He's been declared dead twice. Once to save him from a murder charge, and this time to go on an undercover op for ACRO. His mission is to infiltrate, steal, and then destroy the motherboard of a machine that could kill millions. And he just found out he's on an even shorter deadline which means he only has tonight to blow off some steam. Not a problem, he'll just use his pheromone mojo on the lovely woman who just propositioned him. And what do you know, his third life must be a charm because this woman is special.
This third book is much more complex and much more erotic and much more...MORE. Even with all the different plots going on, the authors do a great job of keeping everything tight and woven smoothly. This is one that will have you laughing, tearing up, and sitting on the edge of your chair as you burn through the pages to find out what happens to who. Now I only have the short story in "Hot Nights, Dark Desires" to tide me over until the next book, "Taming the Fire" releases in May 2009. It's already on my must-buy list.
Wow! This was a wonderful action-adventure, paranormal, suspense with an erotic touch. Hard to put down. Nicely woven together and included the characters from the first book (Riding the Storm), Remy and Haley! Also, this one introduces Trance to readers and he is the hero for the next one in this series.
Be sure to read this series in order because the secondary stories run along in each and do not end. Only the main stories reach a conclusion. One of the secondary stories does finalize in this book. So reading order is very important.
The two main characters, Wyatt and Faith, were wonderful, kind and extremely powerful in their extra abilities. Faith was the director of her own (small) paranormal agency, The Aquarius Group (TAG), which was loosely based off James Bond's 007 British Agency (MI6). Faith had her "stuff" way more together than Wyatt, but with her help he was able to sort out his situation. Their missions crossed paths as they tried to get a hold of something that was started in book #1 and found more of in book #2. ;-)
The two secondary stories and one update on the characters from book #1 played a good portion of this book. I enjoyed all the stories and was awed by what played out. Didn't see that coming!
Devlin and Oz...continues here. But there aren't any graphic male-male scenes. Very tender and loving couple and wait until you see what happens to them! Shocked!
Annika and Creed...continues here, too. Annika finally got her crap together and this became a very touching romance that had tears in This Readers eyes.
Also, a lot of Remy and Haley were in this one (quite abit) due to the main plot and how it started with them in the first book.
Nice book. Very erotic, but I didn't feel it was over the top and NOT every love scene was described. Nicely done, IMO.
by Genres: Adult, Crime, Mystery, Paranormal, Suspense 4 Stars
Starts of HOT & STEAMY. Full of action from the secret agent spy level to the super sexy OMG level.
As good as it was, there were a few times it lost its grip on me and a few editing problems.
Books 1 & 2, Riding the Storm & Unleashing the Storm, seemed to keep me more entranced. However, this one DID NOT disappoint me.
The author Sydney Croft is actually the name for Larissa Ione & Stephanie Tyler. Larissa Ione is how I discovered these books. I am ecstatic for the find.
They are full of Adventure, Action, Humans with Special Powers, Erotic Romance & Special Agents.
Un-freakin-believable! I wouldn't have thought this book was going to be any good after reading the second and hating it. But this book was great! Wyatt is too sexy and a great alpha male!! Creed and Annika are back along with Oz and Dev. Those two stories really get somewhere, obviously since this wraps up the storm books. I can't wait to see more of them though in the next Fire books. Creed and Annika are by far my favorite characters! Well it is a close tie between Wyatt and Faith let me tell you.
Awesome read guys, definitely don't miss this one!
I continue to enjoy this series. It is a pretty erotic PNR that hints at X-Men. There is also a ton of action and suspense that goes on in this series. In this one, Ms. Croft (who is Larissa Ione and Stephanie Tyler), has more than just the main couple for this story, we have a lot going on with several couples. ITOR, the bad guys, have a weather machine and have created a category 5 hurricane heading directly at New York City.
Wyatt is an ex-Navy SEAL. He also has some telekinetic abilities. He is currently working on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico to attempt to take the weather machine from ITOR. He also has the ability to seduce anyone he wants, but they don’t remember having sex with him. His body releases pheromones that make him irresistible. He is not a fan of his power because he doesn’t have much control of it, especially the women waking up not remembering the sex with him. That is until he meets Faith in a bar and takes her back to the hotel and she remembers everything.
Faith is an agent with a much smaller agency in the British Isles, one so small that ACRO doesn’t even know it exists. It is very much a surprise that they are both after the same computer that runs the weather machine. Wyatt wants to destroy it, but Faith believes that it can do good in the right hands. Faith has her own telekinetic abilities that are very rare.
While I really enjoyed the romance and storyline of this book, it is the overall story arc that keeps pulling me back to this series. I love the suspense that continues between ACRO and ITOR. It isn’t the same in every book, with different characters and different powers. Each one has their own problems to solve. The secondary relationships in this series is great too. Creed and Annika’s relationship really makes big strides in this book. Plus Dev, I love Dev and his story is so heartbreaking in story.
Because of the secondary relationship stories and the overall story arc, I would recommend reading this series from the beginning. It is a great paranormal romance that leans more towards erotica. Don’t let that make you believe that there isn’t action, because there is plenty of action, there are plenty of steamy sex scenes too. I’m excited to get to the next book. I’m also sad that I’m now halfway through the series. I don’t have that many of the books left.
Wow, this will be hard to rate. It would be probably 3.5 stars. For me this book was better than the first in the series but not as good as the second.
The beginning was pretty slow for me. Again sex scene after sex scene, not much plot. Also my biggest problem with this installment was that I almost didn't care for the main couple at all, maybe a bit more at the end, but that's about it.
I'm giving 4 stars to this book because there were like 4 side stories which were amazing, even though at the beginning I thought it was annoying to be reading so many other stories at the same time. It was fabulous to finally be able to close Annika's and Creed's story, and it was a spectacular ending, lol.
Regarding Dev's and Oz's story, well ... there is so much to say about this two, although only after you guys read the series, so we will be talking about them at Larissa's group, not in my review so we avoid spoiler. I'm very interested to see what will happen with the new guy. He seems hot and just what Dev needs.Trance and Ulrika's story was a bit boring at the beginning but then got better. And I can't wait to see Ryan's story, that one I'm dying to read.
I really like this series, even though I almost can't stand this genre. I don't care for books with meaningless sex scenes. But this one has an amazing world and plot developing. And you really get to care a lot about this characters.
I've enjoyed this series so far, and this is my favorite (which might change after I keep reading) ;) I loved the first book, I struggled through the second book (thank God for the secondary stories!) and this one was just great! I loved the main characters AND the side stories made me CRY!
I will admit I wanted to beat Faith senseless at some points, but she was in a way what Wyatt needed, and he was soooo understanding, patient, sensual, hot, just... rawrrrr Their powers were very useful and cool, I mean, she could make him come with just her power??? Anyway, I can see some advantages to their combined "skills". And their sex was the most creative! She was hanging off of pipes and they had sex in the cockpit of a plane... while he was flying!!! LOL Very hot!
I liked the small glimpse of Remy and how he has to try and save the day with his power, I've thought from book one his ability was very cool and I was glad to see it being used.
Now on to the sad moments... I don't want to spoil the book for anyone, so all I'm going to say is that Dev & Oz just made me cry... literally... Annika and Creed (and Kat! hehe) are awesome as usual, even though a bit more emotional in this one, I can never get tired of reading about them.
I'm soooo curious as to where things will go from here in the ACRO world and will be reading the next book VERY soon.
4-4.5 stars. Wow - i really enjoyed this book a lot! It delivered so much...excellent characters, a great plot, love, lots of sexy time, trust, betrayal, and redemption. Of the ACRO books, this one was my favorite so far. I love, love, LOVE Wyatt and Faith. Their attraction and chemistry with each other were off the charts. I loved that Wyatt fell so hard for this woman, and was willing to do anything for her. Of course, that left him vulnerable, but as with all PNR's, it works out in the end, and I'm so glad it did for them.
And as with the first two books, I am completely taken with the side stories of Annika and Creed, as well as Dev and Oz. There was a lot of heartache in this book, but it was still so good. I can't wait to continue reading about them, especially Dev. What a male...
It took me a long time to finish this book but that extended period of time is not due to the book itself, just real life and other things. And while I'm glad I finally finished it, I'm also sad to have done so at the same time. I like Wyatt and Faith THAT much, and I'm nervous that no one else will measure up! lol! But onward I go, into more ACRO action, mystery, and heat (hubba hubba!). ;)
I LOVE, LOVE LOVE this series! Good god there's a lot of hot steamy, really erotic, OMG monkey gone wild sex! That's not the reason I love this series tho. lol
It's a cross between X-men and X files as far as the story goes. Most books that have this much sex doesn't have much of a storyline to keep anyone interested, THIS DOES. Good guys w/ powers vs. bad guys w/ powers.
Seduced by the the Storm is my favorite of the series. The main characters are wonderful but my FAVORITE pair are Creed and Annika, two agents who are in all the books as secondary characters.
The 5th in the series is coming out later this year (2010) and can't wait.
I really didn’t think that I could like this series more than I already did, but this book pushed my love over the top! At first it seemed to me that I’d get another great story with new players. The action was exciting - a category 5 hurricane ready to slam into New York City... Our heroes must stop it! The players are sexy and fun, each with their own issues and secrets.
But this book takes the normal way of doing things in a paranormal romance story and tosses the script out the window. The play between Faith and Wyatt is wonderful. Each with a history of being hurt and each having to bare his/her soul in order to survive. And it doesn’t end there... They have to make life-altering decisions about the mission and their relationship, and what is unique to this series and this story particularly, is the characters don’t always take the path you would expect.
This book really picks up about halfway through when the couple actually retrieves the ITOR weather machine (a storyline from the previous two books) and gets away from the ITOR agents. What a twist - really... it’s always good guys vs. bad guys, but in this story, the main couple has to get through their own issues from the past to be together. I admit that a tear came to my eyes a few times before they finally got over all the hurdles. The emotional ride is worth the read.
But the story is so much better than Faith and Wyatt. For those that have read my reviews of the first two books, Riding the Storm and Unleashing the Storm, will know that I love the side stories that are so masterfully woven into these books. First up: Annika and Creed... We get some major break-throughs in this front. Annika must confront her past and work through her emotional barriers that she has always had in place. Their story is so touching and worth the time it takes to develop over three books.
And then... There is Dev and X (the name of his true love will remain unknown so that those that have not read the earlier books will not be spoiled). Let me just say: OH. MY. GOD. There is a scene in Seduced by the Storm that now ranks in my top ten book scenes. It is so powerful. So full of just the right descriptions - scenery, emotion - oh, it is amazing. Their story is the true heart of ARCO, and well, I just don’t know where it will all go next. (Someone hurry up and read these books so I can discuss them with you!) I am quickly picking up the fourth book now!
This book is amazing. This series is worth a read. But in order to get the most from the books, you really need to start with the first one. Go do it. Now.
4.5 stars Gosh, book #3 of the ACRO series is now my favorite of the three. It starts immediately with an action, of Wyatt and Faith inside a cell. Then it charges ahead and doesn't stop. It has a LOT of action, even one that deals with hurricane level five that threatens New York City. And oh, don't forget the hot steamy sex scenes. But unlike the previous two books, the love mojo that Wyatt has doesn't seem silly (though it doesn't mean I don't love the previous two books, but I do think the reason they need to have sex is a bit, well, silly). Plus telekinetic and biokinetic superpowers are two types of superpower that frickin' AWESOME
I LOVE the characters here, Wyatt and Faith (theme of love and betrayal is very nice played between them *sigh*) ... then there is long awaited 'finality' between Annika and Creed (oh, my GOD, how they get together just squeezes my heart!), which probably one of my favorite couples of this series. Though this book also has a poignant moment with Devlin and his lover, Oz, which makes me all choked up. Devlin needs to get his own happy ending, darn it, I love that guy.
I'm jumping to book #4 now, with regret, because I know that means I need to wait till July to get book #5 *sigh*
The second half of the book was better than the first, where I couldn't see what the point really was. I was so tired of that weather machine, you have no idea. My problem was that I couldn't understand how Faith would be so tied with the Sean-guy, it made me think poorly of her. Then, when she began to really question her loyalties, the plot became more interesting. It's the best book of the series up until now, because the protagonists were less flat than those in the previous books (in the first book, I didn't really like the hero, Remy, in the second book I HATED the animal speaking woman, I erased her name from my memory). It puzzles me that I'm so interested in the sub-plots. I had a real dislike of Annika in the first half of the book, but I really liked her by the end, I think she's growing up and less stuck in her problems. Creed is fantastic.
Do you see I'm not mentioning Dev and Oz? Erased that too. Oz had better stick to his promise, because OMG... too sad.
It's probably not a full 4-star rating, but close, so I'm rounding it up.
Before I forget this: I can't stand this OMG-we-have-to-have-babies-to-make-our-story-count attitude of a few authors. I can't stand it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this installment and found it is the best in the series so far.
Wyatt and Faith were great together. It was the first time I enjoyed the main story as much as the side plot in these books. Because, yeah, it's the side plot that gets all my attention in these stories. Devlin & Oz, Creed & Annika. I was sad about the first couple but happy about the latter.
So,I liked Faith. Much more than Haley and Kira (the heroines in the first two installments.) And, man, did I drool over Wyatt.
It was nice to touch base with Haley and Remy, too. I like all those little details the authors put in there from the previous books. How the characters they have already introduced are faring.
I got a sneak peak into the next installment and something tells me I will love it. Two alpha characters fighting for dominance? Bring it!
Once again I really couldnt care less about the main couple, 'cause these books are all about Creed and The Swede and Dev and Oz for me..
And what a difference a book makes..
We finally got Creed and The Swede together-together.. As in The Swede choosing Creed over Dev.. Yay Swede!
They even made me tear up! Which sucked cause when that happened it was the end of a Creed/Swede chapter, so there I was all teared up and then I had to read about the main couple.. Which got rid of my teary eyes pretty quickly..
Then there was Dev and Oz..
What. The. Fuck.
Hell no, I dont want to read about.... what I think I'm going to have to read in the next couple of books..
I want Dev and Oz, God dammit!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Still totally love the series, despite the shaky 2.5 short story I just read. This is the real series here. It does a good job of focusing on the main story while advancing ACRO's story and even focusing on some side stories as well. The series' characters are very likable so it's nice to see them again.
And then there's the sex. De. Lish. Definitely hot hot hot and steamy. I think what makes the sex so hot in these books is the fact that the characters are nearly uncontrollable in their need for each other, so the sex is amazing. Keep it up, Croft!
I liked this book the best so far. The chemistry between Wyatt and Faith was really good. There was a lot of stuff going on with all the other characters from prior books which bugged me a little but at the same time, i enjoyed finding out what was going on w/them.
If it wasn't for the fact that there are currently another three books left to read in the series, I'd have said that Seduced by the Storm is an excellent end to a trilogy! This is because in addition to the main story, which I'll get to momentarily, there are a couple of resolutions to important factors that have carried through the ACRO series.
The first is Annika's, Creeds and Quaty's relationship and whilst all three sometimes made me grit my teeth at their sheer stubbornness I think that made how they finally came together that much more satisfying. Admittedly, the boy meets girl, both fall in love and live HEA makes for short and dull reading and so far, these books are anything but!
The ongoing plot with Itor's weather machine is also concluded as part of Wyatt's and Faith Black's story, the hero and heroine of the piece. Both are brand new characters to the series and we're quickly bought up to speed with who they are and what their special abilities are. He apparently is a walking aphrodisiac who can pump out pheromones that make others of both sexes want him. And she is a biokinetic which means that she can affect the biology of other people in any way up to and including killing them.
Interestingly, whilst they are both the good guys of the piece they work for different agencies. He for ACRO but she works for The Aquarius Group or TAG for short who fall under the purview of MI6 and they're both after the weather machine for different reasons; he to destroy it and she to obtain in exchange for a sister in mortal danger.
The weather machine is and always has been a mere plot device and that's wrapped up relatively quickly and the main story is the relationship between Wyatt and Faith and how they both want each other after the mission, both knowing that such a thing is not going to be possible given conflicting orders over how to handle the device.
Add to that the small issue that Faith's childhood friend now works for Itor and a double cross from a family member and throw in the expected phenomenally steamy sex scenes and there are all the ingredients for a cracking story.
Finally, whilst I mentioned Annika and Creed earlier, pretty much everyone else previously introduced make a significant showing. Dev, Oz and Marlena as well as Remy and Haley from Riding the Storm who, giving the nature (ha!) of the plot would be expected anyway. Only Ender and Kira from Unleashing the Storm don't appear, but Kira is mentioned in the epilogue as someone whose triplets Wyatt is going to visit. I always appreciate it when previous major characters aren't simply forgotten about.
There was just one thing that bugged me. Just a little thing and doesn't detract from the story but it did make me roll my eyes. Whilst it's perfectly possible to get Devonshire cream tea (and you should when you can!), Devonshire doesn't exist; it's Devon!
This was one hot read from beginning to the end. Tons of action and suspense.Wyatt Kennedy telekinetic his mission is to sabotage a man man weather machine that is being used for evil means.Wyatt meets Faith at a bar is asks Wyatt to play along as she is hiding from someone and pretending she doesn't want to see or talk to.The two have an instant attraction to one another and have a wild night and some very hot sex. Wyatt is enjoying himself immensely as his ability has a rare disadvantage anyone he sleeps with never remembers even meeting him or doing the dirty.
Although Wyatt didn't know it Faith has the same abilities but, more powerful. They meet on the rig where Wyatt is undercover and runs into Faith there and she remembers there night together and what came before that ,its mind-boggling to him. Both operatives are working toward the same goal but, for different reasons and agencies.Danger and betrayal are in the works.
These two made a cute couple especially for Wyatt as he is never been able to have a relationship will his ability because of its side effects. They are one passionate couple with who are constantly having some really hot sex but, then again the sexual arousal is part of what's feeding Wyatt's gift.
This couple deserves to be together but, there relationship is doomed from the beginning as each party has a different thought on what's the right thing do about there mission, but, Wyatt's is very clear if he doesn't destroy it many people will die!The other characters from the other books and there agency's operatives grace our pages again in this story playing there part in this dangerous mission.
This was and enjoyable and one very Hot Read. Found the characters to engaging and sincere. There was just enough mystery and danger to keep you intrigue and on the edge.Quite the page turner.Recommended Read and its series !
My favorite so far of the ACRO books, this story is the climax of the first trilogy as agent Wyatt inadvertantly teams up with a British member of another agency, Faith. Wyatt and Faith are on a race to stop evil agency ITOR from allowing their juggernaut weather machine to destroy the world. Only problem is both Wyatt and Faith want the machine for their respective agencies; neither of them is willing to give it up, so neither of them trusts the other. But when their partnership has become more than just sexual, it's harder and harder to give the slip and walk away. We revisit Haley and Remy here as they hope to use his ability to solve the weather machine crisis. This book also has an outcome for Dev and Oz that is both shocking and heartbreaking but also took the series to new levels for me that left me very impressed. Of course, the best part was Creed and Annika. The compilation of their recurring and developing love story in this book has made them my favorite romance couple ever. Now committed to each other, they are still struggling with the fact that Creed is not the first man Annika turns to in a crisis. These two have gone through so much over the course of the first trilogy, so it is truly rewarding to see them reach fulfillment and find ultimate happiness together. Even more poignant is that while Creed has been the one fighting for them all along, in the final hour when he's finally ready to give up, is when Annika fights hardest of all, and the result is a love story that has surpassed any I've ever seen.
I have just finished this book and my heart is still beating wildly... Reading this book was one hell of a ride!
This is the third book in ACRO series and I wouldn't be the first to say it's the best one so far! The story takes you on an amazing emotional roller coaster: love, lust, betrayal, loss, happiness and forgiveness. It seems that a lot of side stories have come to their peaks in this book and that kept me on edge all the way.
I loved both main characters, Wyatt and Faith, they were so made for each other. They go through a hell of a journey together, the journey that tests their feelings towards each other, their commitment to special work they do, and the point to which they'd go to achieve their final aim. And of course, this book is just worth reading for the "pipes" scene alone! Damn! It was one of the hottest scenes I've ever read in a book!
It was interesting to see Annika and Creed go through a new phase in their relationship. Even though they don't get their own book, there is plenty of story about them in this one.
Remy and Haley made an important appearance to save the day.
Of course, there is a certain part in this book that will have you crying like a baby, well I was anyway, very very very sad, but it was for the better in the end.
I'm just so glad I started these series and now I can't wait to pick the next one up!
First paragraph: Faith Black had been beaten, drugged and imprisoned, but none of that scared her. No, what frightened her to the core was the man confined with her. Chained to an improvised medieval rack and bare from the waist up, he lay on his back, arms over his head, his incredible chest marred by bruises and a deep laceration that extended from his left pec to his right hip.
Sydney Croft's ACRO series just keeps getting better and better. I wasn't too keen on Kira and Tom's story from the second book, but this third installment literally blew me away - and not just because a category 5 hurricane was aiming towards New York City. "Seduced by the Storm" breathed new life into this paranormal ops series by introducing a third, shadow agency, The Aquarius Group, and its main operative Faith Black, who is chasing down the storm machine from the ITOR guys. Faith collides with ACRO agent Wyatt, who's been undercover and presumed dead for a while.
The connection between Faith and Wyatt is believable and well written, both on a physical and emotional level. As a couple they worked, really well. I needed me some of this after a crap week. Well done here.
Additionally, the storylines of Creed and Annika, and Oz and Dev, come to resolution. And like most authors with a pair, Croft is not afraid to kill off main characters. I'm just not saying who.
This series is picking up steam. Remy and Haley's story (book #1) was just ok. I really didn't feel that much of a connection between those two but have seen it more in this book. I thought they were really rushed and not detailed enough in their own book. Ender and Kira (book #2) were a little bit more fleshed out and pulled you into the series more. Still not a perfect connection but better than book one. Wyatt and Faith were so much more developed and I felt more connected than any of the other characters in the previous two books. SBTS packed so much into this one book and kept me glued to the story. This is by far the best book in the series so far.
Another reason why I liked this book so much more was because it featured Creed and Annika a lot more than the previous books and I LOVE these two! These two have been so hot from book one and I wasn't really happy to hear they weren't getting their own book but I have to say they were featured a lot in Seduced by the Storm and I couldn't have been happier! LOVE THEM!!! I hope they're featured more prominently in the books to follow. I also really like Dev and Oz so was a little upset with what happened in SBTS. I'm hoping somehow that will be corrected going forward, however they can do that.
Book 3 in the ACRO series and another great read. The weather machine threat introduced in the first book Riding the Storm is the target for ACRO operative Wyatt Kennedy. Faith Black is also an agent but not for ACRO. Temporary allies, they work together to capture it. Both have serious secrets and trust issues [a recurring theme in these books:]. Meanwhile, before the machine can be captured it is used to send a category 5 hurricane towards NY City. Remy and Hailey [from book 1:] are fighting to control or divert it... Lots of action - certainly kept me turning the pages.
The primary plot here is Wyatt and Faith but several ongoing situations come to the crisis point. Things occur that are intensely painful to both the characters and the reader. Additional plot threads for future books are introduced... These authors sure now how to keep their readers eagerly waiting for the next book.
Read these in order!
ACRO Riding the Storm (2007) Unleashing the Storm (2008) Seduced by the Storm (2008) Taming the Fire (2009)
and another called Tempting The Fire is scheduled for 2010
These ACRO books are taking over my life. I can't help it. My daily chores are suffering greatly. I started this one, knowing it was going to be one of my favorites. I had already found a LOT to like about Wyatt in the other books. So I was ready. So I thought. I was impacted with a side of Wyatt that I didn't see coming. Oh my. He was such a consuming character. And Faith? She surprised me at every turn of a page. I loved it. Their love story was so beautiful and then so tragic at the same time. It had me crying and smiling then gasping and hoping. The story behind all of it was thoroughly encompassing as well. Very captivating to say the least. ACRO doing what it does best. So very well-written, and quite entertaining. Thank you "Sydney Croft" for once again providing hours of an amazing escape from the real world.
