A Violent Agenda #3

A Promise of Torment

Rate this book
Duet Narration by:
Hannah Hedley
Lucas Webley

Blood hides carnal desires. Power is overrated.

Killing for family, tainted with nothing but love...

My emotions are supposed to be dead.

I was never meant to feel this. Pain. Anger. Rage. Feelings erode me from the inside.

They make me weak. They make him more powerful.

But I can't lose.

Dante is my sweetness in hell. My father has me where he wants me. And my boys...well they think I'm all but lost.

They're right. I'm not the same Angel of Death they knew before and desired. I'm losing control one promise at a time. I'm spiraling, de-evolving, turning into him.

But in the end, I need no one.

Pain, torture, and torment.

Is the only way to be monstrous.

I've known it all along.

Haven't you?

In the four months since I read A Legacy Of Sorrow, I managed to do a classic Vic and pretty much forget the storyline of the book. I spent much of the first chapter of A Promise Of Torment wondering what the hell was going on because recalling the ending of the previous book was beyond me. Seriously, I don’t know why authors can’t include a “previously on… type trailer before they start their books.

Luckily, by the time I hit chapter 2 I was pretty much on board with what was going on. I didn’t really have much of a choice the story is an immediate continuation from the previous book and the story delves deeper into the web woven between Viola’s family and her boys families. I must admit that I found it quite confusing to keep track of all the connections at times, although that could have something to do with the fog in my brain.

Although there are a few chapters from the points of view of Viola’s boys and Dante, the book is very much Viola’s story. This is somewhat unfortunate as I found her difficult to relate to. I think Kato calls it when he describes her as “a spoiled, stuck-up princess. Despite the challenges that she’s faced, she comes across as entitled and inconsiderate whereas characters in other books have grown and developed after such experiences. Sometimes I really wanted to slap her and tell her to shut up and do as she’s told except she’d probably like that.

It seems that both Lorcan and Dino have been struck with the same youthful sense of entitlement as Viola. For me, the character that redeemed the book was Dante. I’m really hoping we get to see more of him and better understand his story in book 4 because there’s something curiously enticing about him.

The pace of the storyline ebbed and flowed, but never really reached a peak at any point. I felt like each individual event hooked my interest, but only for long enough for it to reach completion, not beyond that moment to the whole of the story. I never felt that, as a reader, I was pushed to read more.

Much like its predecessor, my desire to read the next instalment of the story is based upon the final chapters of the book. All of a sudden the action kicks up a notch and the situation becomes increasingly serious for Viola and Dino. This does, however, mean that the story ends on a pretty epic cliffhanger. If you can handle the wait for A Destiny Of Carnage (due out on 31 May) then you’ll love the possibilities. If not, you might want to put this series aside until it’s complete.

Amazing, gut wrenching read.

SPOILERS... LIKE SERIOUS MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD.

This book was dark, gutteral, hot and just plain beautiful. Viola is as usual her badass, and brave self. She did make me angry at her quite a few times though, one being how she broke Dino and Lorcan's heart by spatting their love back at them initially (I know it was because of guilt and her way of protecting them so I didn't mind much) and second being giving that psychopathic unfeeling , selfish bastard Dante the time of the day.

I liked Dante in the first and second book but started hating him by the end of second book when he took Viola back to her place of nightmares. I mean yeah the reason was facing your past head on and not cowering towards the man who made your life hell, but he just freaking left her there , only for her to get branded by her father's henchmen. Dante being Dante loves to play long games which only end up hurting Viola more.
Like the whole drama of selling her to highest bidder, getting raped and hurt time and again could have been avoided had Dante the mf not allowed Viola to snatch his empty gun , rather giving her a filled gun to blow her father's brains out. The father obstacle would have been deleted and then they could have given complete attention on rescuing her mother. Dante only brings complications with him. I know he protected Viola the best way he could in a toxic household, teaching her to defend herself, making her a lethal weapon and never coodling her since clearly showing affection or care in their predicament would be like being masochists, but that guy was a selfish , cowardly, asshole to me, with his useless prolonged planning which quite frankly did more harm than good.
Lorcan and Dino were their awesome kick-ass selfs. I loved how Lorcan behaved with Viola after she told them to leave her because it made her realise her feelings for these guys was not something temporary. I also loved Dino's take of not leaving her alone and making her confess the real reasons behind her heartless act, also missed Jude badly in this book,
Jude where are you I am missing your prickly ass.

AANDD AANND holy hell ... The cliffhanger was fucking brutal and I can't wait to read the next book.

This book was a whole lot to take and I’m reeling. Everything from the danger to the action ramps up and it gets rather extreme. The triggers here are a lot worse After breaking the guys hearts life is off the hinges for all of them and now that daddy dearest is back in Viola’s life, no one is safe and every moment is valuable. I actually really enjoyed this book once again because of Viola. Try as she might, emotions still don’t come easy, though she does feel something. Something strong that longs for her guys even if she tries to block them out. She’s also able to shut down and shut off things in her mind that allow her to get through each day. But Viola is no victim and she’s certainly no pawn. Even when others have the upper hand, Viola will find a way. With only one book left I have no idea what’s in store for her given where she’s headed. There’s still people in her life that need to go and her relationship status is as always a rocky road. No I am ready though for her to take the reins and make everyone from her father to his cronies and ally’s rue the day she was born 😈

Back in the viper's den Viola knows what she needs her prior kills only a bandaid for the monster she really longs to annihilate her own flesh and blood. But with her father, Adrian holding leverage over her Viola needs to play the long game if she wants a chance at bringing him down. We also finally get to learn what makes Dante tick the boy she grew up with but Viola still has no idea what his game is and if she can even trust him.

Refusing to take down her boys not wanting them to become collateral damage in the fallout Viola cuts them loose in the only way she knows how hurting and breaking their hearts in the process but in the long run, they will still be alive. She just doesn’t expect to miss them so much.

This third book definitely ramped up the mayhem it was absolutely mental filled with danger bloodshed and plenty of intense emotions. I definitely missed Jude though who is still currently incarcerated. Instead, we got to explore Dante in more depth but I’m definitely now looking forward to the final book and seeing how this is all going to come together and provide a HEA and some closure. In conclusion, this is an excellent gripping series that I’m enjoying immensely. I definitely recommend it.

📃 The story 📃
After leaving the boys behind, Viola settles into her new life with her father. However, things do not go as planned, and their fates once again become entwined.

Although I did enjoy the story, it was also different than I expected. We still got quite some steamy scenes, which I enjoyed, but it was just Off. Her father massively sucks, but I also feel that we’ve barely seen him around for such a big villain. I STILL don’t understand why they’re doing the prostitution ring, and this is honestly just getting annoying at this point. We did get some heavy scenes in this one, such as which made me as aggressive as Viola is. Yet, for some reason, this book felt different from the others, and I cannot really explain why. I still read it really fast, but I’m just not happy with it for some reason.

Now, the ending. I cannot talk about it too much because I cannot even put into words how aggressive that made me. I buddy-read this with Crystal, and I definitely went crazy in my update. Sorry ‘bout that, love. I HATE everything that happened. Where the hell is the character development in this, they still don’t communicate at all, and they just suck so much omg. I detest unnecessary drama, and this ending gave me loads of that. I’m still so insanely mad, I need a break.

📃 The characters 📃
🔪Viola🔪
Fuck me, although I did like her throughout most of the book, I started to MASSIVELY hate her at the end. I liked that she still didn’t bow down to anyone in this book, but her behaviour near the end just reminded me of a petulant child. I mean, seriously, SERIOUSLY?? Argh, I can’t really like her at this point.

👨‍👨č👦čThe boys👨‍👨č👦č
So, Jude was fun in this one! Note the sarcasm, please. The dude was literally missing for the entire book. This kind of sucks, because I wasn’t really attached to him in the first place, and now I have to somehow start caring for him in one book? Yeah, don’t think that’ll happen. Lorcan basically behaved like a brat in this, but I’m glad he came around near the end. Still, stop being such a dick. All these teenagers behave so much older than they are. Dino, what the fuck. I don’t even know what to say about him after that ending. Dante got some more time to shine in this book, and I’m glad about it. I think I like him the most at this point, which still doesn’t say a lot because we still barely know anything about the guys. They just all feel like such flat characters :(

💻Other characters💻
All that I want to mention here is Lily. Lily massively sucks, and I hope she won’t appear in the next book because I’m so over her. Please don’t come back. However, Quinn was back!! Love that girl, and I still kind of wish that she’d join the harem. Hell, better yet, replace Viola with her!! Yes, I’d like that at this point. Love me some Quinn.

📃 Overall conclusion 📃
I did enjoy the book, up until that end. If there’s one thing that I hate in life, it’s unnecessary drama, and this book’s ending had loads of that. Seriously, so unnecessary. I cannot even talk about it anymore; I’m so freaking mad. I also feel like we still barely know any of the characters, and although I enjoy Viola’s psychotic behaviour most of the time, she just annoyed me near the end of the book. Anyway, I definitely didn’t love it, although I did finish it really quickly. Still, that ending ruined it all. Argh!

This was fun.

It’s been a few days so my initial impression has started to fade a bit but overall I still enjoyed it very much.

The whole premise was a blast. Viola was feral a lot of the time. Pretty feisty but I could handle her murderous ways without getting turned off, even when the story starts with her castrating a victim. I liked that she was 23 and going undercover in a high school. It had some Just drop out vibes but Viola was even more cool than Lips. I liked watching her work.

The guys were great. I especially loved Dante. He was a constant in her life and didn’t baby her. He was the same as her- kind of cold and clinical but cared for her in his own way - I liked how he messed with her. I also liked the rest of the guys - Lorcan, Dino and Jude were good characters. As expected for a reverse harem but I enjoyed it.

There was a part near the end of book 1 where there was a bit of a leap - going from the school to all the boys living together with her. Also - the end of the last book was a bit of a cliffy. Overall - good fun. I look forward to reading the series again before the last book in May comes out.

I was worried that I wouldn't remember anything about this series after an 8 month wait. But it didn't take me long to catch up. I tore through this in a day cause the writing was addictive. Jude was absent from this book since he was still in juvie looking for Byron. Voila had returned to her father who was holding her hostage until he was ready to sell her off to the highest bidder. She's still determined to find her mother and murder her father for turning her into a monster. Lorcan and Dino are reeling after Viola dumped them to keep them safe. Dante is as mysterious as ever and keeping his motives hidden.

Really enjoyed this story. Viola is still a bad ass bitch who's ridiculously strong and resourceful. But I felt like she didn't come very far in character development as the guys. Most of the book was in her POV. She still couldn't open up and communicate. In fact she got sloppy and began charging into danger without a plan. Though I understood it was because of how broken she was, it didn't lessen my frustration with her. Dino is still a big puppy, wearing his heart on his sleeve and can't fight to save his life. Lorcan is running his father's empire and trying to keep Dino from destroying himself. He's frequently freaked out by Viola's insanity. After this book, my new favorite is Dante. I loved how mysterious and deadly he was. He knew Viola and how to handle her. Lorcan's thoughts on Psycho Charlie was hilarious as well as Dante's annoyance with the 'schoolboys'. Trigger warning, the book has a rape scene that was short but still. Dino pissed me off at the end and paid the price, getting between Viola and her kill. Things ended on a huge cliffy and I can't wait to see how it ends.

A Promise of Torment by Mallory Fox is a dark reverse harem serial killer bully romance. This is the third book in A Violent Agenda series.

I was pulled me in from the first chapter and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. All I can say is OH MY! So much happened in this book and I don't want to give anything away.

I really enjoyed getting Viola, Dino, Lorcan, and Dante's points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life. I will say I was so excited to get more of Dante's story, but I was definitely missing Jude and can't wait for more of his story in the next book.

The book ended on an amazing cliffhanger that made me want to scream! I have so many questions!?!? I can't wait for the next book in the series A Destiny of Carnage to be released on May 31, 2022.

I would recommend the book if you like dark romances, reverse harem romances, serial killer romances, or assassin romances.

Mallory Fox wrote this book one handed while downing shots of crown Royal. Like hold my beer bitch only hard liquor will do.

This book was hott, it was full of danger. Shit I’m still questioning if we can trust Dante or if he’s a master manipulator.

Where is Jude I’m sick of him being gone.

I HATE kristian and Adrian like can we kill them already I’m over them.

Vi is my soul mate I’m sure of it she is like even darker side of my heart.

From the moment you open this baby it’s action packed and you can’t stop. I stayed in the bathtub for 2 hours reading this lol
I’m wrinkly as hell and needed the next book ASAP

Just when you think there couldn't possibly be any more twists or turns, and you finally think you know who is on V's side and who is against......the rug is completely pulled from under you!!

But isn't that what keeps the story fresh and you on the edge? Constantly wondering if maybe Harper-Black is wanting his daughter back for less than nefarious reasons? That the blonde Lorcan is with at the casino means more than just a one night and not just to make you jealous??

The constants you CAN count on? The thirst for blood that V has. Her confusion over her ever changing feelings for the 3 boys and for Dante. And the fact that, really when it comes down to it - the only person you can truly count on is yourself.

There's no Jude in this book, as he sits in juvie waiting to be released at some point! But there are so many threats made using his life as a bargaining tool!
It's nice to see Quinn return also, still unimpressed with Dante - but who can blame her - wouldn't you be if he threatened your life!
Also a nice touch for Lorcan yo call his sister, Saskia- feels like such a long time ago that all the school stuff started!

This has a feel of V going after the bigger players in her life. Those that have hurt her or those she loved. Finding and rescuing her mother is a priority and a race against time. But with everyone constantly changing sides and telling her one thing or another.....it's up to V to put the pieces together and once again she starts to close herself off.

After missing her chance of finishing of Dinos big brother and mob leader Kristian, she's eager to be the one who delivers the final blow. And Lorcan believes that Dino couldn't get past it if he had to do it. After being cruelly treated by him, she gets her wish.....

But someone stops her. Thus leaving all her energy and "shabby feels" with nowhere to go. Except to who robbed her of the kill.....

Ohhhhh what a cliffhanger!!!!! And nooooo!!! Its not true!!!! It can't be!!!

I received a copy of the ebook in return for an honest review

Nooo that ending can't be how thing's end. Gah I feel like I've been pulled every which way through the wringer with as many twists and turns and who's siding with who in this book.

I don't even know where to begin with this book other than it sucked me in right from the start just like the other 2 before it, and all I know is just when you feel like thing's might go right for a change...nope the rug gets pulled out from under your feet.

This book was hard to put down and had me on the edge of my seat as Viola is trying to save this person only for another person to be taken what's a girl got to do to get some luck in here geez.

It does end on a cliffy ugh just kill us already Mallory put us out of our misery. I'm needing the next one like stat I have to find out what this chick (V) is planning.

I have been jonesing for this book ever since finishing . I have missed these characters. Even Dante.

This book begins right where A Legacy of Sorrow ends. With Viola back in her father’s grasp, led there by Dante.

There are several things that you learn in this book. Many secrets and motivations revealed.

I like that this series is quite different from most other Reverse Harem series. Normally by book 3, things are going well within the harem, but this one is not following that at all. There are still many struggles everyone deals with, plus WE ARE MISSING JUDE!!!

I missed him way more than I thought I would throughout this book. He was such an asshole in the previous books, but his personality is absolutely missing within the harem.

There aren’t many, if any ‘lDZ-DZ moments between the guys and Viola. Viola just isn’t capable of that, at least at this time. I wonder how she will feel once she is able to accomplish her lifelong mission. Will that buzzing under her skin be just as strong as it had always been, will it lessen, or is it possible it dulls almost completely?

Anyway, even though Viola isn’t capable of feeling or showing love, doesn’t mean she is unable to thrive with her men by her side. She just needs to accept that they are there is help her, not hurt her.

That cliffhanger was bullshit. I am so mad about it!!! Not really. But damn that was a lot to unfold in the last like 20 pages of the book.

This is everything my dark little heart desired it to be and more! It's full of twists and turns! There are so many players in the game that you don't know friend from foe!

Viola is having to play everyone else's games while also trying to find her mother. Its one crazy game of clue. Vi goes through alot in this one! This girl knows her strengths and weaknesses and she isn't afraid to admit it. No matter what she is a fighter through and through. That's one of the things I love about her. She might get beaten down but like a phoenix she will rise from the ashes and kick some a$$!

Violas father Adrien is a real piece of work! He doesn't deserve to have children! As for Kristian there aren't enough words to describe just how big of a piece of sh!t he is! He gets what's coming to him but at great cost.

I've been rooting for Dante from the get go and I can't wait to see how things go! Lorcan is his usual jerk self. As for Dino I just want to hug him. He's stuck between the woman he loves and the brother he can't stand. Poor Jude is still stuck in juvie and we don't know how he is doing. Everything is one big cluster-fudge!

Don't even get me started on the cliffhanger....nope, nope, nope it didn't happen. I'm telling myself it's a bad dream and my heart is not broken. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! This needs to be fixed ASAP!

I love this series and now I'm anxiously awaiting next book! (Just a heads up there is a major trigger warning in this book!)

I received an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was lucky enough to jump on to ride the crazy train with the well-known ‘apathetic-minded sociopath Viola and bringing back her diabolical men for book three. Viola continues to keep her identity under wraps in order to protect her men, when us readers know the truth about her being a murderous psychopath. Rolling into book 3, the series takes an even darker turn and it’s a matter of trust between Viola and her men. She likes to think she’s protecting them by having them all tangled in her web of lies and deceit, in which they hope to find out what it is that she’s hiding. Viola is back for blood and to pick up where she left off with the support of her men in ways that may not work. She is out to get retribution to protect her men, but is that enough? Find out more by following Mallory Fox on Instagram. Buckle up, because this killer ride isn’t finished yet! More twists and turns to come soon for this sinister world of evil Viola brings to the table. As mentioned in my previous reviews to the first two books, there are still trigger warnings in the beginning and can be found on Mallorys website. Recommend for Readers 18+
Review is on book 3

A Promise of Torment is the third book in Mallory Fox's A Violent Agenda series. We pick back up where we left Viola off last, attempting to escape a couple of her father's lackeys with the help of Dante, her mysterious mentor.

Viola's overall character development is well done in this book. We finally get a better picture of how she was raised and how she fits in with The Organization. We get a better idea of her parents. I think this book, with the overall storyline and action occurring, help make Viola more of a person than this elusive serial killer that she has been up to now. Don't get me wrong, she's still the cold-hearted killer we've come to know and love, but she becomes more ingratiated, more dependent, on her harem in some ways. Her relationship with the guys in the harem is evolving, and I personally think it's for the better.

This book is somewhat tamer than the first two installments. Rather than focusing on the jobs that we became privy to in books one and two, the focus is much more on Viola's family, specifically her father's ongoing plans for her. We get limited on-page gore. Unfortunately, Jude's presence is all off-page, and that was sad. The cliffhanger of an ending gives me high hopes for the next book, however!

Character development: 5/5
Dark elements: 4/5
Steamy scenes: 4/5
Overall storyline: 4/5
Triggers: Yes, indeed - torture, murder, kidnapping, abuse. This series is just cray cray all around.

V is my right hand woman!!! My one and only soulmate with how our minds coincide with one another! She’s fierce, kicking ass first then asks questions later, consequences be damned, but also with a sense of entitlement.

So, wth is up with Dante?!?! I’m still hesitant about his true intentions, is he for V or colluding against her?! There’s still too many holes with questions left unanswered.

This addition was just as dark and twisted as the first two, but honestly, wth else would you expect from this author?? The level of craziness had me thoroughly impressed. Keeping track of all the various webs being woven together appeared difficult at times if you haven’t been consistently following these characters, but it was interesting nonetheless.

We learned a lot about V’s, Dino, and Lorcan’s past, explaining their sense of entitlement more, which is a major turn off if you ask me, but they’ll technically still kids that have a lot of growing up to do. Dante was the true interest of this book, with a hopeful further dive into his history.

There were sections that I began to lose interest, but as previous books, the action truly began closer to the end. An increasingly shocking and serious events transpires between V and Dino, leaving with one helluva another cliffhanger, making me wish I would have waited to read until A Destiny of Carnage was released.

oh my life I wanna throw up. that ending was cruel and i feel like my hearts just been ripped out of my chest. i mean WHAT THE FUCK. THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING. no flipping way. I can’t believe it. no. i won’t believe it. Mallory why did you do this to me?!?! MY HEART HURTS.
I’m a mixture of sad, angry, confused, frustrated and just straight up fuming. I’m in shock.
i can’t get over the crazy plot twists that do on during this series, I mean fuck me it’s just shit hitting the fan over and over again.
my heart is bloody racing.
i need to calm the tf down.
this series is absolutely incredible, it’s a female serial killer, bully, why choose dark, ridiculously fucked up romance. it’s everything you want and need in a story that’s going to have you all kinds of messed up.
am not even joking when I say that the gory killing scenes in this live in my head and I’ve had bloody nightmares because of them. there’s always so much blood and gore.
V literally tares those fuckers apart. i fucking love it!
the spicy scenes were off the charts HOT! when Dante finally made his move I literally screamed and shouted ‘FUCK YES & ‘FINALLY 🤣 literally waited 3 books for that man to finally show us how he truly felt about V!!!!!! it was bloody epic.
I’m still fucked up over that ending, I really wanna throw up, cry, scream and damage some shit all at the same time.

So good!

This is Book 3 of a 4 book series and should not be read as a stand-alone. This series keeps getting better for me. The cliffy really got me though I’m highly anticipating #4.
This dark and twisted tale picks up immediately where the previous book ended with V, our psychopath FMC, being the focal point. The story delves into the twisted web woven between both V and the boys families; we really begin to understand how deeply depraved their families are and the extent of her father’s reach.
V is as twisted and feral as ever, but she finally realizes and accepts that she cares for the boys. ALL the boys, including Dante. Speaking of Dante FINALLY! Not giving anything away, but I was excited to see and understand his feelings and motivations during this book. I can’t wait to see how everything progresses! I also really missed Jude this book, and I’m looking forward to seeing him again!
I love the twists and turns in this story you literally never know what’s coming next. The author has done an incredible job of creating multiple story lines to keep us all engaged. I’m really looking forward to the next book where everything will finally be revealed!
Highly recommend this if you’re looking for a twisted, dark, serial killer romance!

Satisfyingly suspenseful

A Promise of Torment is book 3 in @malloryfoxauthor A violent agenda series. A reverse harem serial killer bully romance.

If you are familiar with this series then you know all about Viola and her satisfyingly sadistic ways. If not I highly recommend you add it to your TBR.

Viola is back causing havoc in the best possible way. After pushing her guys away, thinking she doesn't need anyone and can do it all alone. She is proven wrong. Bringing those she is closest to back much to her disgust because feelings...ewwwww!!!!!

There's blood, torment, torture, and murder.

It's thrilling, dangerously addictive, disturbingly dark, sinfully sexy and emotionally charged.

The things that happen will have your stomach churning in the best possible way. I honestly didn't think this series could get any better but once again I was proven wrong. The only thing I have a complaint about is the epic cliffhangers!!!! This series will leave you wanting more every single time.
Can't wait to see what instore for Viola and her guys.

This is the 3rd book in the A Violent Agenda series. Fox never ceases to amaze me. She always brings twists to keep me flipping the pages so fast, trying to figure out what’s going to happen next. I love how this series so far is picking up right where the previous books left off. The continuation of character development has me on the edge of my seat. Please check the trigger warnings.

Viola is spiraling out of control. The deeper she gets, the more she looses herself. She’s not the same person she was and I’m in love. I honestly can’t choose which guy I like best. They all speak to be at different times. Oh I was hoping Jude was back in this one, I miss him. However, we finally get a different side of Dante. But can Viola trust him? Is it bad I’m liking the mysterious Dante more now? I seriously don’t want to give too much away. This is a must read series!

Full of dark and twisted vibes, action, mystery, danger, lies, secrets, spice, twists and turns that leave you with more questions than answers. And that cliffhanger?! What?! Can’t wait to see how all this comes together in the next book and see how it ends.

Sweet sweet torment... 😩

If you keep up with me, it goes without saying I have been INVESTED in this series. I've been enthralled and frustrated beyond measure at so many points that I can't keep my head on straight. I mean all of that in the best ways though.

It's become increasingly more difficult to try and choose a favorite, I know I know, the whole point is you don't have to. It's just inevitable really. I stuck with Lorcan for a good minute and he's always going to hold a special place in my soul, Jude kind of busted in and stole his thunder but then Dante....sigh. Y'all this is a rough one. These characters are intense and they will pull the deepest emotions from you. They have you questioning EVERYTHING.

I'm gonna be a bit of a jerk with the reviews for this series, something just tells me to keep the details tight on this one every time I go to write my reviews, it just feels right. And this one? That...ending...how dare...I'm not mad.

Yes I am. Imma stick around though. Like a barnacle that feeds on dark romance.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy for an honest and voluntary review

WHEW 🤭 I’m so in love with this series 😍 Viola is absolutely my hero 🖤🔥 She’s one of the best FMC’s I’ve ever read!! This book was very intense!! Viola has been through so damn much!! She’s a fighter though, that’ll come back swinging EVERYTIME!! Bless her dark little heart 🖤 There were so many twists and turns in this one. You’re really asking yourself who’s friend and who’s foe?? Plus that freakin cliffhanger 😭😭 I need Book 4 NOW!!
As Viola is searching for her mother, she’s in the middle of people who are playing their little games, that she definitely doesn’t have time for 🙄 This girl’s got things to do!! Her father, Adrien, and Kristian are extremely horrible people!! I’d really like to see them get theirs!! Poor Dino is stuck in the middle, also, between his girl and a brother he loathes. Lorcan QUIT BEING A JERK 🙈 Aaaagh Dante!! Come back to us Jude 💔 who’s still in juvie 😭 I hope Viola finally finds peace at the end of this series ♥️
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AS WELL AS THIS WHOLE SERIES 💙🖤

More secrets and questions are answered in this 3rd book but we are also left with new questions as well... I hope we see more of the V and the guys together as a group instead fractured and I really hope that what happened at the end isn't reality. It better be an optical illusion or I am not gonna be okay. I'm still processing lol Also I normally go for the psycho in the RH but not this time. I love Dino so much. I just wanna hug him and protect him. I hate his brother... how did they come from the same mother ugh. My baby Dino is too precious and sweet for this world. Also I MISS JUDE and his recklessness. SOMEONE RESCUE HIM ALREADY.
-----------------------
(My immediate reaction after finishing the book): HOW IS ANYONE SUPPOSE TO BE OKAY AFTER THAT CLIFFHANGER - INTERNALLY SCREAMING AND I WANNA CRY BUT I'M IN TOO MUCH SHOCK AND STILL TRYING TO PROCESS WTF WAS THAT. My heart can't take all these twists and turns... just when I think I know what is happening the rug gets pulled from underneath me again. I'm loving this series so much but my heart hurts.

A Promise Of Torment is the third book in Mallory Fox’s ( violent agenda series ) A series that hooked me from the moment i Picked up the very first book .if you have yet to read this amazing series you really need to .what a wild ride .viola has become one of my absolute favorite heroines and I read a lot of series . She’s fierce and strong and does not put up with any BS .Truth be told I only recently started reading reverse harem romances . Mallory fox is one of my all time favorite authors so when I found out that she was writing a revers harem dark bully series , to say I was utterly intrigued is a understatement. It is because of Mallory that I am now a huge fan of this trope . If you love a story that’s dark and twisted , that has the ability to make you feels so many different emotions, that will have you on the edge of your seat anticipating what’s going to happen from one moment to the next ,then this truly is the series for you.

Absolutely enthralled and gripped from the very beginning! I’m back in Viola’s world and nothing is as it seems. If you think you’re just for some good ole fashioned female baddie with a handful of young men who pant after her, you got the wrong book. This one is truly action packed with a smattering of steam. Viola is taking on the world to get her young boy toy out of juvie. There’s twists and turns in this one so be careful, blink and you miss it! Dante is just frigging sexy that I can’t stand it. Dino is still my favorite but I always have felt through this series he was a little too soft for the blood and action that encapsulates Viola. But he surprised me in this book. Lorcan is a petulant asshole. That is all.

And that ending!! Umm no ma’am. No. I’m gonna need the next book now please.

Damn. You learn more about Viola and who she is, but she continues to try to keep her identity hidden from the boys, to protect them. You also learn more about the mysterious Dante, and HOT DAMN. You only get a few glimpses behind his mind, but you really get to see what is going on between Viola and Dante and their history.

There are so many twists and turns, and a lot is unraveled in this book. I can’t say much about it, but you see a lot of Viola’s past and you understand a little bit of why she’s a bit of a sociopath. There was a lot growth between the characters and the story. Dino is still a softy, Jude is still locked up, and Lorcan is an asshole who still rarely shows emotion. There is the spice (YAS), violence, craziness, and triggers (heed to the warnings). The ending leaves you thinking WTF, and I am in need for the next book!
