Esther Vilar to nie tylko piękna Argentynka i Niemka z pochodzenia. Ale też zdumiewająca odwagą i chyba najmądrzejsza kobieta świata. Przy tym feministka. Lecz nie z tych nawiedzonych, które uważają mężczyznę za swego wroga. Esther Vilar dowodzi, że zgubny dla obu stron konflikt między kobietą a mężczyzną wynika, po większej części, tylko ze ślepej zajadłości albo z głupoty. Bo gdyby nie ten brak rozsądku, mężczyzna i kobieta powinni być i bywają dla siebie nawzajem czymś najwspanialszym na świecie i niezawodnym. Mówią o tym jej genialne powieści "Matematyka Niny Gluckstein" i "Amerykańska papieżyca", już wydane po polsku. Sensacyjne i porywające w lekturze. A przy tym pełne frapującej mądrości. Oto trzecia z nich.

Już nigdy nie spojrzę tak samo na komara.

even though this was a very strange read, i liked the way this story was told. i haven't read anything similar up until this point and enjoyed that it looked at life and the choices we make from a different perspective than we usually see.

Das war verdammt schräg.
Ich weiß, dass das viele Leute abschrecken wird, weil es einfach Szenen gibt wie die, in der eine Frau masturbiert, während ein Mosquito nach Aufforderung Blut aus ihrer Brust saugt, und eine Trigger-Warnung wegen sexualisierter Gewalt und Femizid ist durchaus auch angemessen.
Trotzdem, trotzdem muss ich sagen, ich persönlich fand es brilliant: Überhaupt auf die Perspektive zu kommen, das Ganze so farbig und lebendig zu erzählen ... Großartig.

No me esperaba tener como protagonista a un mosquito que te va contando una historia y sobre todo una que acabe como acaba esta. Buena narrativa. La idea y explicación de la transmutación de almas es de las cosas más importantes sino la más importante e interesante del libro.
Ah, y como biólogo tengo que decir que las que pican en los mosquitos son las hembras...
