Time capsule is gorgeous. It's not a full book, rather a collection of photographs and artwork celebrating Romana II. Lalla gives small quotes on her episodes interspersed with photos of the stories and reproductions of June Hudson's amazing costume designs. The book is beautifully laid out and has some of the nicest photos of Romana that I've seen. It's a lovely tribute to one of my favourite companions. Definitely a must for all fans of that era.
This is a slim volume, but there are some excellent photos and some words from Lalla Ward about the stories. There is a nice little tribute to Douglas Adams. This is my favourite era of Doctor Who - probably because I was the perfect age for it - and Romana II and Doctor IV remain my go-to Doctor / Companion pairing. The Horns of Nimon is my comfort Doctor Who story.
The key thing is that 100% of the profits from this go to raise money for Denville Hall, which is a retirement home for actors. So you should probably buy it for that reason.
A little picture book, along with some of Ward's memories. 100% of the proceeds went to Denville Hall, a retirement home in Northwood London for professional actors. Notable residents:
A beautifully presented book. Although there isn't a lot of text, what is there is written well and interesting, with Lalla's personality shining through. The photos and costume designs are stunning. Plus it's for a great cause - Denville Hall.
