Ok I am shelving this one for now and i wont be rating it, it doesnt seem fair since i inly got 11% in, and I can see that I am definitely in the minority here, literally the only person who doesnt have a 5 star on it.

It was the insta love for me that was just too much, they lock eyes and she knows hes her other half to her soul, I mean first annoyance was the day she met him not even 24 hours into knowing him shes finds herself CRYING because she walks in on him with another gurl getting the wrong impression, second shes a virgin never having been seen naked by anyone and allows rayne to wash her and give her an orgasm after maybe 36 hours of knowing her.
Sorry I just cant right now, maybe ill come back later to it. But again this is just my opinion and hope just my opinion wont sway anyone away. To each there own... I do want to figure out his secrets but maybe ill wait for someone to post spoilers. .

So, another blinder for Susan here. No idea what to expect but the story of Isabella and bad boy Rayne had me hooked. The deep and secretive man who were both falling for one another from their first meet...Despite his warning, Isabella could not keep away from him.
--------
Excerpt:
I don't believe he is as bad as he thinks he is as I can see a good guy who just thinks he is no good.
--------

As the pair get closer and their feelings grow we gradually learn about the pair. They let each other in emotionally, but for a nineteen year old girl I was blown away at the character, Isabella and her maturity. I loved her and her heart on her sleeve attitude...
---------
Excerpt:
It will always be me standing here beside you, always and forever. If you push me away, I'll chase you until you're willing to catch me again. Just remember, I'm only human, Rayne. If I need to leave, I'll always come back to you, and I will love you with everything I have until the last beat of my heart.
----------

But Rayne has a past that she only hopes he will let her in on. In time. But this would take a disastrous turn of events when she finds out what Rayne gets up to when he sneaks out. Would it truly break her and the feelings they have for each other?
----------
Excerpt:
Help me understand why this is how it has to be.
I just don't know how to do this. I keep thinking if I keep loving him then he'll realize he's loved and that will be enough, but maybe loving him isn't enough; it's just all I have.
-----------

With Isabella feeling abandoned by her one true love, she breaks down but also develops a new friendship, with none other than Raynes brother...he truly would be her lifeline during her darkest hours and beyond...
---------
Excerpt:
...I am no longer their perfect Isabella.
He ruined that for me and I want to hate him for it, but I can't. I love him.
-----------

But the pair have some heartache ahead of them and once Isabella, Raynes "Tiny Dancer" learns of the truth as well as the 'Unexpected consequence' would she be able to let him back in after the lies and heartache? The boy is a charmer, but a romantic one at that. Oh, ladies he's awesome not only with the romantic words but actions too! Book boyfriend material here!
---------
Excerpt:
You're the rainbow after my storm, the light to my darkness. You complete me, Tiny Dancer - I will love you forever and even then I will find a way to keep on loving you.
---------

Despite Isabella's strive for perfection, throughout their first year together, learning, loving, forgiving and mending, this incredible pair have a future beyond recognition. But the love, heartache, home truths and friendships make this a truly awe inspiring read that I couldn't put down.
------------
Final excerpt (I promise!)
...for the first time I'm happy to accept it's not perfection. I'm okay with all our imperfections, we're perfectly imperfect together.

Weird read

I like the angst, but the heroine was so irrational from the get go. It was hard to nail her personality. So many books are about two people who cant figure out they're in love with the other until then end. It was refreshing to see the heroine knew her feelings and declared them at the get go... Like, right away! LOL kinda funny.

Other than that...it was an OK read. hero was a right prick though... at beginning you just want to bash his head in and tell her to run for hills. She was a definite masochist.

Let's see, where to start? There's so much about this book I want to talk about.

Isabella is a 19 year old goody two shoes who has never stepped a toe out of line. She tries desperately for perfection because she wants to please her father. But in walks a rock star and anything that can be called perfect walks out.

Rayne is a rock star bad ass with a beautiful voice. He doesn't care about anything except his band mates. He just wants life to right itself but he sees her and all bets are off the table.

Isabella and Rayne fall hard and fast but love may not be enough.

I loved this book. I feel like recently I've only been reading five star books. This book, though? I wish I could add a lot more stars to it.
Jaye has created a very believable and relatable world through Isabella and Rayne. There is so much friendship, love and family that it makes me jealous to the core. They don't simply fall in love and have a happily ever after. No, they both have much to learn and secrets to share. Oh man, the secrets.
Two things stand out to me in this book the most.
First, Isabella and Rayne remind me so much of my husband and I's relationship. He wasn't a rock star, but the aches and pains are similar.
Secondly, I loved this book but halfway through it I got punched in the face. This revelation came out of no where! Left field! Never expected. So don't miss this! I had to put it down and take a moment and process what I'd learned.

I recommend you read this book! You'll be in for a hell of a treat if you do.

This is the first book by this author and i was lucky enough to get a review copy from them so here goes.........
I have to admit that i did struggle with it for the first several chapters as i felt that things happened too fast with not much build up or explanation, but i stuck with it and i'm so glad i did as it turned out to be a FANTASTIC book !!! The things i felt weren't built up to in the first few chapters got explained perfectly especially when it changed to dual pov's from Rayne and Bells (Isabella). It had plenty of drama and action and even had me crying in places !
I felt the emotion for the characters and at times i wanted to slap or shake Rayne for how he treated Bells, i also wanted to slap Tommy (Bells best friend and Rayne's friend) for how he treated her and Rayne at times too !!
Brilliant book, starts a bit too fast but for a first book i thought it was brilliant and can't wait to read the next book, and see how the author grows in her writing xx

WOW Seriously WOW

I received the ARC for Unexpected Consequences and Im just blown away! If you loved Kristy Brombergs Driven Series *Like I do*.....you'll love this story too.

Its a coming of age story for a young woman Isabella and Rayne her leading man.

I won't explain the story because well I don't want to spoil it. But I read this from cover to cover and just couldn't put it down! Its that great!

The story flows well and has some very mean twists in the storyline. It has some definite ugly cry moments and some beautifully touching moments that will still make you cry and sigh and wave your fist at some of the characters and their crapolaness! I seriously either want to hug Jaye Cox or kick her....not sure which.....its that brilliant!!!

Look out world, I predict great things for Jaye Cox!!!

i was given his for my honest review, I can honestly say this story is a must read, the characters are built up in such a way that they all blend. The story is a mixture of mystery, suspense and romance. Rayne is complicated, a true bad boy musician who doesn't want or believe in relationships, Isabelle is sweet, innocent and truly sees the good in everyone, but when they meet their worlds collide and there are so many secrets, tantrums and lies, their love at first sight and such strong chemistry shocks both of them and with the twists and turns they encounter can they survive it, together or apart....... this is truly a book I think you will remember it keeps your attention with so much happening at the right amount of everything and you will definitely feel all the emotions that go through them, the reality true to life is brilliant

I read and reviewed this book for A Kiss Down Under book Blog..

I was very lucky to receive this ARC and read it to give my honest review, I can honestly say I very much enjoyed it, the book kept my interest and I really enjoyed the way she built up her characters, it is a true love story with a twist of mystery/suspense..

I can't wait to read more from Jaye Cox, her writing ability is awesome, her character building is spot on, she gave enough information to want to keep reading and not put it down.

I can't wait to read more from her..

I loved reading this book about Bells and Rayne, it was such a long journey for them both but their undying love for each other won out above all else.
Bells was so Naive and Rayne has such a tortured past but together they were complete. He was her Kyriptonite and she was his everything. A person who could truly see him for HIM!
I loved reading about so many characters in this book who all have amazing bonds together and would love to see more of them in future books. Sam, Ty, Tommy, Dex, Romeo to name a few are awesome, Ty is so sweet and protective of his friends who he classes as his family.

Finally a good book.I loved the idea of mixing mystery with romance and I couldn't figure out the ending, which I usually can. I saw a few people complaining about spelling errors which truthfully there were only a couple and it didn't bother me at all. Definitely a must read.

This was my first book by this author. The writing was ok however it desperately needs an editor, missing quotation marks for dialogue, using the word of for off numerous times and run on sentences are just the tip of the iceberg. I did like the storyline, its a little different from what I expected, not a rock star book at all. Another good read through Kindle Unlimited.

Bells, 19 aka "tiny dancer" meets Rayne, 25 at a New Years Eve party her bff makes her go to. She is a straight laced virgin and he is a bad boy singer with a dark side. Their attraction is immediate but he warns her he isn't good for her, he has to much bad stuff in his life. Her bff since childhood Tommy introduces them and he also warns her he is no good for her. They begin a relationship but things are not what they seem as the story unfolds. Rayne can be somewhat rude and cold to her at times always making it up to her later and she usually takes him back.

Raynes past comes back to haunt him and it puts her life in danger. Secrets come out and she is devastated at being lied to by everyone around her. She makes some bad choices that leave her hospitalized. Rayne walks away so she can find a better man feeling he isn't good enough for her. After her recovery she finds out she is pregnant. This brings them back together to slowly try and work things out. Since all secrets are out, no more lies they work on their trust issues. Unfortunately his brother has a little revenge planned that endangers her life and the baby's.

They do get their HEA, there is a nice epilogue with their wedding and the birth of their son. The entire book spans less than a year. The next book will be about Dex, one of Raynes band mates and Ruby, Ty's sister. Its not available on KU so I won't be reading it but I didn't really feel "Ruby" for a female lead. 3.5 Stars due to all the editing problems. If the author put half the time into using spell/grammer check as she did into listing song titles throughout the book it could be a 5 star book.

I loved Under The Surface so much, that I had to go back to number 1 and grab Unexpected Consequences.

We meet Isabella and her BFF Tommy. No he isn’t gay, and yes they are indeed best friends. Bella works at Paulie’s, a local bar, as she is working her way through college. Her father has money, and would pay, as long as she studied medicine. She isn’t, so she’s working part-time. Tommy introduces her to Rayne, who’s band is looking to play at Paulie’s if they are good enough. The attraction is immediate.

The chemistry between Rayne and Isabella is off the charts, and I guess it had to be because his inconsiderate treatment of Bella drove me insane. I understood that there must be some dark past, but he treated her SO badly. And, while she was trying to find her way out from under the perfect expectations of her father, she still expected respect, and I really loved that about her. She totally stood up for herself.

Tommy, her best ever friend knew Rayne’s story, and why he didn’t share, when he had known Bella since they were in Kindy really baffled me. I would’ve kicked him for touch as well. Where did Tommy’s loyalty lie?? If he cared enough to warn Bella off Rayne, surely he would’ve explained why!! The truth when it was revealed gob-smacked me. And, the depth of the deception made Bella question the motives of those she knew and trusted. It did actually make me appreciate Rayne more, and I then realised the depth of his love for her.

After reading Book 2 as a Blind review opportunity, I absolutely HAD to buy this book. It’s not a quick read, it’s in-depth and intense, there’s a lot going on, and, the characters are well-written and balanced. The support system they all provide for each other is amazing and the dialogue is every day believable, and sometimes hilarious. We get to meet all of the characters that surround Ruby and Dex’s story in Under The Surface.

Jaye Cox is a new to me author, and I would absolutely recommend her books to anyone who loves an intense hero who has risen above his upbringing, and a heroine who has the balls to expect respect from those around her. Seriously check out BOTH of Jaye’s books. 5 fully appreciated of this book stars!!!

3.5 STARS.......

This book will have you flicking pages, clicking the button or however you turn the pages on your device so quick it is not even funny....

I will tell y'all this when you think you have it figured out she puts another twist in the mix... I will not lie cause that is not me. Who the stalker turns out to be just blows my mind. I mean how can she not see it? How can you not tell? How can you not hear it?
Sorry had to get that out.... Now for my review...

Katherine, Katie, red-head, blonde & brunette one woman that has been through hell yet is still alive. Now she must learn to survive and fight back before it is to late. A unspeakable event accures to her during her younger years that is still following/hunting her with every move that she makes. When going to seek help the people that she turns to can not find anything or anyone that is doing anything to her. Yet they are there. They are playing THERE song. The song that is dedicated just to her.
When she feels them lerking around again she goes and requestes the help from Cole aka Mac. Once she explains in detail what is going on she feels more uneasy cause he is sparking something inside of her that she has never felt before. You see she has not been able to date cause stalker person is making it impossible for her. However, the more time Mac & her spend together the tingles grow more & more. But she knows that nothing can come of it for he is only there to do his job and help the crazy lady as she calls herself...yet she is far from it.

Cole aka Mac has to question what is coming out of this beautiful womans mouth. From his point of view it has to be an ex doing this who is distraught because she left him. Yet the look on her face is telling him something eles. Something more. Something that is not sitting right inside of me. Then again what is not sitting well is this feeling of wanting to protect her more then what the job is calling for....

But will he make it in time to save when she is finally taken. Will stalker finally get their wish to have her all to themself? Tick tock time is running out....can Mac & the guys find the hiding spot before things turn dirty/nasty?????

I received the ARC of Unexpected Consequences in exchange for an honest review. I am honored to have received this book before it's release!

I think this is going to be one of the easiest reviews to write. This is one of the bests stories I have read so far this year! It is a very well written story. The story-line flows so nicely which makes for a very pleasant and easy read. It has strong well developed characters which also made the story a joy to read. It had all the components of a best seller. It had love, drama, mystery, damn hot sex and plenty of adventure. The story took some twist that I never saw coming and had me in a jaw-dropping state more than once. It also had it's damn ugly-cry moments also. My rule of thumb for a great book is, one that can make me laugh out loud one minute and make me cry the next. Well Ms. Cox has included it all.

When I hit just over the halfway point in the book I thought WTH just happened? My next thought was, ok, now that that bomb just drop the rest of the book is going to be blah. But oh, no! Ms. Cox still has some tricks up her sleeve. I love to be reading a book and just get lost in it. That's what happened with this book. I started it and the very first time I actually looked down to see where I was in the book I was 54% of the way through! And I had just started! That is the sign of a winning novel. One that sucks you in and you feel what they feel. You cry when they do. You laugh when they do. If that's the kind of book you like, this is the book for you! I'm not going to recap what happens in the book. If you want to know more than what the synopsis tell you about this book, then buy it and read it! You will not regret it.

Great job Ms. Cox. No, not great job, AMAZING job. I forgot to mention, this is her debut novel! As good as book is, I can't wait to read more from her! Congratulations to the author Jaye Cox on her best seller!!!(just trying out your new title, sounds good doesn't it)

Unexpected Consequences by Jaye Cox
4 stars

Great first book
I love jumping into a book blind, not having read any blurb or anything, and thats exactly what I did with this book, and was hooked from the start
I dont think most people will get the instantlove, but that was my hubby and me so I know its real and happens, if you've never experienced it you will never know what it feels like to just see someone meet them and thats it game over.
I loved that Bell was young and and never met a guy she wanted to give herself to until Rayne, yes she seems like a goodie two shoes, but she really wants to break free of the hold her dad has over her, and live a little.
As the book progresses we see Bell blossom from a young girl into a woman, we also get to experience all her heartache and pain as she grows, plus like most young people she makes errors in judgement that could have serious consequences, for me Bell was a very believable character, I felt everyone of her highs , and even worse her lows, she emerges stronger.
Rayne on the other hand, is almost set on a course of self destruct, he is blinkered and almost blind to his end goal, he is also blind to how his actions affect others namely Bell, he thinks he knows what the best course of action is and acts accordingly, never once stopping to consider the consequences and as the story unfolds, he finds out just how costly those consequences can be.
There were so many times reading this book I wanted to slap a character, when I was frustrated with them for being so stupid, and other times it brought me to tears with the pain the characters were in.
Beautiful story, of when you do fall in love at first sight there is so much you dont about each other and problems that causes, added to that there are lies and not so much lies but more information that cant be shared so is that really lying by omission, and once that trust has been broken can you ever truly get it back.
Beautiful book beautifully written, so looking forward to more from this author

Some say that the eyes are the windows of the soul, and Isabella Preston has to agree. Her life so far has been pretty boring, living in Australia, and working as a waitress during the day, and a barmaid at night at Paulie's, to save up for school. When her best friend Tommy, introduces her to Rayne Hollywood, the lead singer of Kaleidoscope Memories, a rock band, she instantly noticed an almost black, empty sadness in his eyes. They drew her to him, and when they met again at a New Year's Eve party, he pulled her into a life that she never could have imagined even existed. True love can do that to a person. But love alone doesn't make life easy, and Isabella will soon experience heart wrenching decisions that could change her life forever. Will she have to choose between her very best friend Tommy, who is like a brother to her, and Rayne, the man she knows she can't live without?

This was a quick one day read for me. and I did enjoy it. If you want to believe in true, almost fairytale love, this may be the book for you. I do wish the romantic lead in this story would have stopped saying the "nickname" for his love quite so much, because it would have seemed more believable, but that's just me.

You know that book that you read and just have to take a second to digest it all once it's over? This book is that kind of story. There's so much to say but I just can't because it's spoilers. The author knows to keep you reading, there were so many twists that I never once expected. Usually you get hints here or there but this one actually catches you off guard. I love the connection between Isabella and Rayne. They are so real and you can connect with their characters on so many levels. The supporting characters made this book truly amazing. The quality of writing was phenomenal. Not only did she concentrate on the main characters and made sure they were well developed and loved by the reader, she also built up the other characters the whole time. I'm in love with them all and want all of their stories to be written. This book gives you it all and makes you want to live in the bubble that has been created. I want to keep going on and on but when I say this book is amazing and keeps you on your toes I mean it. I don't wan to give anything away. I will let you know everything truly does happen for a reason and sometimes the consequences make up for the choices that weren't always easy.

Oh what I wouldn't give to be Isabella Preston and have Rayne Hollywood in my life. Every woman dreams of meeting that one person who is their destined soul mate. Isabelle has met hers.
Their love does not take an easy path - it is full of drama, conflict and mystery.
Isabella is an open book, whereas Rayne is hiding many secrets from her, that could destroy their relationship.
Tragedy strikes one night and their whole world is turned upside down.
Will they be able to come back from this tragedy or will they be forever torn apart?
Throw into this relationship Tommy, Isabella's best friend. A person who has always been there for her since the age of 5.
This is Jaye Cox's debut novel and what a debut it is!!!
It is a wonderful story of discovery and acceptance of how things are.
Jaye's style of writing keeps the reader addicted. From the minute I picked it up, I did not want to put it down.
I absolutely loved this book and I hope there are many more to come!!
Absolutely deserves a 5 rating!!!
I only hope that Jaye writes a story for Tommy, Sam and the other friends in this book!!!!
BRAVO Jaye!!!!!

Unexpected consequences
5 stars

I was fortunate enough to Beta read this book as it was being written. I loved it from the very first page. This book isn't what I would have expected from a debut author. The storyline is great and a new twist on a typical romance story, the characters are very well developed, and story will stick with you. I was constantly checking for new chapters on my kindle.
Isabella and Rayne have a whirlwind romance that had me cheering for their success throughout. There were many moments where I wished I could slap some sense into rayne, and there were thoughts of throwing my kindle out of anger at him.
Rayne is your typical bad boy, who isn't interested in a serious relationship, until he meets Isabella. She is a breath of fresh air in his hectic and toxic world. Isabella has been sheltered and has never experienced someone as intense as Rayne. They're love is strong, but Rayne has a lot if secrets lurking around that could easily ruin their newfound love.
I highly recommend this book to anyone! It's got all of the elements for a best seller. I cannot wait to see more from Jaye.

Unexpected Consequences had all the elements of a F*A*N*T*A*S*T*I*C story-great plot, virginal heroine, alpha-type rocker with a secret, a bit of danger-but left me disappointed when the two main characters ruined that chance with their frequent personality changes. We had the sullen, douchebag Rayne, the romantic, perfect boyfriend Rayne, the tough guy Rayne, the tied-around-her-finger Rayne, etc, etc. He flipped between these personalities so often I felt like I had mental whiplash. Isabella AKA "Tiny Dancer" was no better with her recurring "I-love-you-forever-and-always"-wait-"How-could-you-treat-me-like-this"-wait-"You-apologized-for-your-superjerk-move-so-I-love-you-again" attitude. My head was spinning.
"Unexpected Consequences" had great attraction between the two main characters with lots of heat, wonderful side characters including a BFF that needs a story of his own in addition to an element of mystery and danger. If you can overlook those irritating personality changes and the all too frequent "Tiny Dancer" references, this is a pretty good story. I just couldn't get past it. *Sigh*

I really enjoyed reading this author's debut book. What I liked most about it is that I didn't find it to be a cookie cutter book. Often I find myself reading almost the same story over and over again. The plot is the same just the story is tweaked a little and the names change.

Isabella lives her life trying to please others like her father. But she comes to the conclusion that she doesn't want to be the good girl all the time anymore, especially since she met Rayne. He is a bad boy rocker who has some demons that he is trying to escape from. He takes an immediate interest in Isabella and warns her over and over again that he is not good for her and will hurt her.

I recommend you read this awesome book. You will enjoy the development of the characters and the dynamics of the characters. Enjoy the developing relationship of Tiny Dancer (Isabella's nickname) and Rayne. We all know that lying to someone also leads to problems and trust is broken and hard to get back. You will want to find out what happens with Rayne and Tiny Dancer. Do they end up together, alone or with someone else? This is a must read! I can't wait to read the next book in series!

Isabella never believed in love at first sight, until she met Rayne that is. Tearing through her life like a summer storm he uproots her ideals and sometimes even her morals without a thought. Isabella’s life does a complete 360 when he comes in. For Rayne Isabella is a breath of fresh air, light in his dark world of revenge and self hatred. Could their love overcome all the obstacles. There are so many lies and secrets to overcome, will they make it.
I was given this book as an ARC to read by the author. I am so glad she did. What a refreshing change. Although it was still your typical boy meets girl love story, there are enough twists and turns to stop it being boring. I loved the rocker theme, him being in a band added something a little different which I enjoyed. Rayne was my favourite character, I have long been drawn to the dark, troubled type of guy and for me, he was it. The twist left me reeling, totally was not expecting that at all and was very well written and believable. Well done to the author. I think she is on to a winner.

I received a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Isabella known as Bells is a good girl, doesn't party or even go out that much. her best friend Tommy finally talks her into going to party. On meeting Tommy's friend Rayne Bells fell in love with just one look. Rayne has the same feelings but doesn't seem to want a relationship. He blows hot and cold and confuses Bells.

Almost through the first half of this book I struggled. Ii wanted to hate Rayne for how he treated Bells. Yet she kept going back for more. When they were together you knew they had feelings for each other. Yet something in the back of my mind kept telling me something else was going on. I just knew I wasn't going to finish the book with Rayne acting the way he did and Bells having no backbone. Then the halfway point hit and at that point the book blew me away. Talking about a twist and from that point on I couldn't read fast enough and I didn't want the book to end. The book is filled with mystery, suspense, romance and some tears.

I honestly had a lot of issues with this one. This book had a lot of potential for me, but some of the choices the author made with character actions and scenes really put me off.

Insta-love- the main characters pretty much just looked at each other and they were in love. Some people like this, it's not my cup of tea.

Consent- to me having a lead male character that respects boundaries is important. Having a guy that just met the female lead a few hours ago, and just walks in on her when she is in the shower...... that's a no go for me. It's creepy, it's disrespectful, and wrong. Also... there are other scenes in the book where consent is questionable especially the one scene at the party.

Main male actions- He is pretty much a jerk to her a lot of the time. We find out a reason later on in the story, but to me..... I just didn't care. Especially after the once scene.

This story through the first 60% was at a 1 star. In the end I upped it to 3 stars because the last 40% got better.

** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **

Rayne is out for revenge.
Revenge against his own brother.

But what Rayne doesn't count on is falling in love on the way!

Isabella is a quiet girl who doesn't drink or go to parties. This New Year’s Eve she decides to go to a party with her best friend Tommy. She’s not going to stay long….That is until she meets Rayne.

Rayne can’t tell Isabella where he goes all the time, for her own protection.

Will Raynes hell-bent determination tear him apart from the only girl who holds the key to his heart?
Or will Rayne and Isabella get their happily ever after?

This book had us hooked from the very beginning, and we didn't want it to end. With lots of OMG moments throughout, we thoroughly enjoyed this book. One of the best reads we have had the privilege of reading and we highly recommend it.

A definite 5 star read.
