In book one, Knight of Runes, historian, Prof. Rebeka Tyler, travels back in time to 17th century Fayne Manor and becomes enmeshed in Lord Aric and his medieval druidic world. Knight of Rapture brings the adventure back to the present with Aric experiencing Rebeka's modern world while he fights Bran's magical machinations and helps Rebeka fight to keep Fayne Manor by finding hidden proofs of Rebeka's family holds the original charter and coming up with ways the manor can start to pay for its upkeep.

A fabulous blend of time travel, fantasy, and historical romance rolled into one exciting and intriguing adventure. This was an after the happily ever after tale of how much this pair loved each other, but are still learning to to be patient and thoughtful in action, communicate, and work together because they have family and friends supporting them, but powerful enemies working against them.

In the first book, Aric got on my bad side, but he has come a long way since then and I appreciated how he was careful with Rebeka's memory loss in the modern time and heeded, their friend and family solicitor, George's advice about how to do the best for Rebeka. Meanwhile, Rebeka has that feeling of familiarity, but also constant confusion around Aric, the relative of George and a superb reinactment actor dead-ringer for the Lord Aric of the past.

I loved how Aric made a place for himself and even had a camaraderie with George and the ex soldier reinactment workers whom Rebeka hired to help them out.

Things were left with a full completion as to Lord Aric and Rebeka's plot thread, but I am glad to see there are possibilities for someone else getting their own book since their story was left incomplete. And, hey, I wouldn't be upset to get books for Aric's brother Logan and his fellow soldier Marcus.

Those who enjoy a blend of fantasy elements and sweet romance with druids and medieval elements should definitely give this series a try.

I enjoyed buddy reading this second book in the series with Nadene at Totally Addicted to Reading.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I enjoyed Knight of Ruins, the first book in the Druid Knights series, and was excited to continue Arik and Rebecca's story. History, time travel, romance, magic and intrigue await you in Knight of Rapture.

Knight of Rapture, the second book in the Druid Knights series, picks up from where Knight of Ruins ended. In book one, historian, Dr. Rebeka Taylor travelled back in time to the 17th century granting her the chance to reunite with the love of life, Lord Arik. In Knight of Rapture, Rebeka and Arik are happily married, however their blissful life would be interrupted. Arik’s nemesis tricks Rebeka into the last time portal, catapulting her back to the twenty - first century and leaving Arik to mourn her departure. However, he underestimated the power of their love. They both would stop at nothing to find their way back to each other.

The events of book one took readers to the 17th century. Knight of Runes, however, focuses on the present with Arik experiencing life in the modern world. This installment delivered a wonderful blend of fantasy, historical romance, time travel, adventure, intrigue and suspense.

I had fun reconnecting with Rebeka, and Arik and interacting with the characters featured in this installment. Now Rebeka is generally a smart woman. However, a dumb moment resulting in reckless and stupid actions contributed to her memory loss. I understood her need to find her way back to Arik, but she failed to examine the situation from all angles. I loved how Arik handled her memory loss. His patience in this installment was a stark contrast to his actions in the previous book. His patience overrode his desire to transport her back to the past, which was a wise move on his part.

The story ended on a good note, with all threads relating to Arik and Rebecca’s story tying up. However, it left the reader hoping for a second chance for a specific character. Also, it would be nice if to see the others get their own stories as well.

Now, although I enjoyed the story, I struggled with a few things. The first relates to Arik’s ability to adapt to the modern with such ease. Also, the way a particular set of characters in the present world bought into the concept of time travel without question.

Overall, an enjoyable read, which fans of time travel, medieval times, magic and romance will enjoy.

I really like Rebeka and Arik as a couple. The is the second book about their love and adventure. Rebeka get send back to the 21st century and looses her memory or Arik and their time together. Arik finds a way to go to the future and bring back his wife. I enjoyed seeing Arik in the 21st century. I feel like this book spent to much to timme n the present. It lost its action in the middke of the book. I enjoyed when the finally go back to 1606. This was a decent book I think the first one was better.

A solid 4 stars to Ruth A. Casie for Knight of Rapture. I did like the overview of this book and was glad the read didn't let me down. I can't tell you how many times an overview has sucked me in for the actual story to be a flop for me. This book is cleverly constructed mixing past, present, magic, and love. Honestly, what more could you ask for?

Arik is quite swoon worthy. He's so dedicated, loyal, witty, and charming. Honestly, I'd travel back in time to find one of him. He does everything in his power to find his love and to protect her. He is understanding and sweet on top of his other incredible traits. The author definitely wanted the reader to not only love him but to also fall in love with him, as well.

Rebeka was a pretty awesome heroine. She was clever, honest, true, loyal, and sweet. When she lost her memory after being moved several hundred years into the future, her heart and body still recognize Arik. She struggles to deal with the feelings the "stranger" stirs up within her. Once her memories resurface, she is by his side every step of the way, even when he doesn't want her to be. She's a warrior at heart and I think that's what I liked about her best.

There are a lot of long reviews here so I will try to be brief (if possible), this was an amazing story. I was not sure if it would catch my attention but that was taken care of after a chapter or two.

The author solidifies the romance with the reader quickly for those (like me) who had not read the first book. I have to make mention of the exceptional way she was able to thread necessary parts of the previous book into this one seamlessly to keep me from being lost or confused over things that happened previously.

Arik and Rebeka are the two consummate lost lovers, I have to mention that this whole plot is done well although for awhile you think the cause of it all was Rebeka being TSTL. The story kept my attention, the lovers go through the requisite trials and tribulations while other plots unfold around them.

It was great storytelling and I enjoyed it right through the end. Well done and probably deserves a longer review but I stayed up late last night finishing this book (could not put it down) and so you get the abbreviated version of my thoughts on this extremely entertaining novel.

4.5 Stars rounded to 5 mostly for entertainment value.

Lord Arik is one determined man. After defeating Bran and the Dark Magicks, Arik plans on never letting his beloved Rebeka go. He lets down his guard and relishes being married to Rebeka. Big mistake. Bran has more tricks up his sleeve.

Rebeka is ripped out of Arik’s arms and travels through the portal to the twenty-first century. Rebeka is thrust into her time while Arik is back in the 17th century. Tortured and separated, both work night and day trying to figure out how to be together again.

Arik uses dark magick and is able to come across to the 21st century. But when he arrives, he discovers Bran has taken Rebeka’s memories away. She has no memory of him or their love.

Can his love for her break the spell or will she be lost forever?

I’m a huge fan of time-travel romance and throw in druids, magick plus history, you’ve got one of the best books I’ve read since Jude Deveraux’s A Knight in Shining Armor. I loved the story-telling ability of the author. Her words painted vivid imagery and truthfully, I was under her spell. The plot was complex, as was the characters, while the sub-plots kept me turning the pages. There was plenty of suspense and obstacles Arik and Rebeka have to deal with but the end-result was so satisfying.

What really made this book shine was the historical accuracy and the druid mythology she wove throughout the book. It was so real to me, I had to ask her where she got her druid information. She confided in me that there isn’t a lot of written history of the druids as they were primarily an oral society. The spells and mythology, she told me, she came up with on her own. Incredible!

I loved the couple, Arik and Rebeka, and the way they interacted with one another. Together, they’re stronger and cannot be defeated. It’s only when they’re apart and alone, that dark magicks can grab a foothold.

There are plenty of swoon-worthy moments and I highly recommend this book (and this author), especially to historical romance readers. I can’t wait to read other books by this author!

Favorite Character:

Arik. While I do love Rebeka, it’s Arik’s unconditional love that won my heart. Imagine for a moment, after doing whatever it took to be with your beloved and then she doesn’t remember you or the love you shared. It was heartbreaking to read but it made my heart swell because that’s true love. I also loved him as he got used to the 21st century. He’s everything a woman wants in a husband and he’s my vote for Book Boyfriend of the Year.

Favorite Quote:

“Sometimes I feel I don’t belong here. It’s a strange but strong feeling. Her voice was a low whisper. His heart thundered. Did she remember?

This is my first book by this author and if honest I hadn't realised it was part of a series. That being said I thought her info drop technique worked very well and I quickly understood what had previously happened. Let's face it tedious amounts of previous story lines can really bog down a story but fear not this author has got the balance just right.
Our hero is Arik a knight who is also a Druid and no common or garden one , no he's the Grand Master! Having finally been reunited with Rebeka ( who for safety had previously been sent to the future) his world is almost perfect apart from the seriously twisted machinations of his fellow Druid Bran. Bran tricks Rebeka and yet again she finds herself thrust four hundred yeas into the future. Having lost her once a beside himself Arik pulls out all the magic he is capable of to follow her but what he finds is heartbreaking as Rebeka has no memory of him!
This mixed so many themes with it's tales of knights of old, magic, time travel and of course two lovers seemingly doomed to never find peace and happiness together . Add in the fact that the Manor they live in is facing problems as it's ownership is in question and it all adds up to expand what could have been a fairly straight forward love lost story into something far more interesting. The reader knows that Bran is lurking in the background of course but Ms Casie ups the ante with mystery and suspense.
Magic and history combine here to make a very interesting read.

Love Stronger Than Time
I definitely recommend reading book one, Knight of Runes, before reading Knight of Rapture. Otherwise you will miss half the romance, and the gravity of loss in the second book. The characters do reminisce about the previous book if you do decide to dive right in. Knight of Rapture picks up where Lord Arik and Rebeka are enjoying a moment of marital sweetness. But of course, it does not last as the portal to the future is still open to the 21st century. Arik is as determined, loyal, brave, and romantic as the last book. I am not a fan of significant others losing their memories in a story, but Ruth A. Casie does a great job managing their re-meeting. I missed Rebeka’s personality before her memory loss. Mostly because Rebeka is a bit, understandably, standoffish at the beginning. By the end of the book there is no doubt that they both love each other dearly. Arik just needs to finally teach Rebeka how to use magic properly. This book has time travel, Dark Magick, romance, and more!

The second book in this series finds Arik traveling forward in time to find Rebeka and return her to his time where she belongs. What he did not plan on was that Bran has erased her memory of Arik and their time together. The story relates her struggle to remember something that is just outside her reach. It is a well written and entertaining story. There is a lot happening and danger is always present. There is a happy ending but the book leaves the question of her father’s whereabouts unanswered. Hopefully that book will come next. I would highly recommend this as a great read.

Ether than the first

I enjoyed this book more than the first. It helped that Arik and Rebeka had already been through all of the getting to know you stuff that took so long in the first book.

This story had decent pacing and a fair amount of angst. Arik’s constant ability to to underestimate Rebeka through not one, but two entire novels did leave me a bit frustrated. He did finally figure it out 8n the end, though. And together, they get their HEA.

Nice wrap up to quite a long tale through time.

What an emotional ride

What can I say except thank you Ruth, I just finished Knight of Rapture, which I devoured immediately after Knight of RUNES. I am a devoted lover of historical fiction, and no offense to my beloved Diana Gabeldon, Tanya Anne, Natasha, Katherine but I believe my new friend Ruth, I truly believe. To hearth and home.

Ok so I had hoped to be sucked in immediately after the excitement of book one, but it took me a bit to get there. I kinda felt like it was slow going, and almost repetitive, but I stuck with it. Yes, it’s time travel and mostly a similar story, but the new aspects with him in the future or current times helped hold my interest.

Book 2

Likeable characters and interesting plot. This story goes back and forth between 1605 and 2011. The dialog between characters is the same in both time periods and there are few differences to make you feel like they are in the past. Also a little steamy for my taste. Married sex, medium description.

** Warning: Spoilers for Book One**
This appealed to me, and as it was the second part of a book duo I read the sample of book one to get some background info. I’ve done that before and find its usually enough to get me up to speed, but I was so hooked on the plots that I ended up buying part one just so I could get the full story. In that part we see the beginning of how Rebeka accidently goes back in time, and discovers that actually that’s where she started and her father brought her forward 400 years for her safety. He’s dead now and seems he never got a chance to explain. At the end of the book something goes wrong, Bran interferes yet again, and Rebeka is thrown forward into the future again. Arik and she are both distraught and seeking a way to bring her back in book two.
Arik has been working with his brother Logan to find Rebeka and bring her back. Unknown to him Rebeka has help from Barrister George and his sister, both powerful druids, and they’re also working to find a way back for her. With help from both ends Arik ends up in 21st century....but although Rebeka had her memories of Arik and the past when she came through Bran has interfered yet again and now she’s has no knowledge of it. Luckily George and Cora do, so they help to try to break Brans enchantment and bring her memories back while also researching a way back for them both.
To complicate things there’s problems over ownership of the Manor, and the documents needed seem to be missing. It means a huge amount of research, while at the same time trying to make the Manor pay its way with the new ventures started. This book takes place mainly in 21st century as opposed to the past in book one. Arik is able to help with the reconstructions, and make the ventures of visitors seeing the past and feeling the whole experience as real as possible, and he has some ideas too about further renovation of the mill and village itself to help the experience and the income. It seems though that they have not only Bran working against them but trouble from an unknown source which creates more problems, and they have little time to work it all out.
Its another great read. I love the way Arik blends in and they way the staff pull together, and the story they concoct to explain him. The Major and his soldiers are a terrific addition, and the descriptions of them training, rebuilding the mill and village, renovating the old weapons and learning how to use them to create realistic re-enactions for the visitors is especially interesting. I love the way the druid magic works, through runes and chants. Its not a quick found magical wave-of-hand solution, I hate those, and the ones where the main character gains some new unheard of power at the crucial moment. Instead it’s one where they all work hard, by means of research and trial and error experiences, to find the right combination of chants and runes. There’s drama too from Bran and the mystery protagonist, which at times is life threatening. I’d guessed about just after halfway through who I thought was behind it, but couldn’t work out why. I did get somewhat confused towards the end about the travelling issues, and why some of them were restricted its hard to say without giving too much away but rather than get bogged down by detail I just accepted the story as it and it flowed well from there, and made for a fabulous and satisfying ending.
Stars: Five, a great read to enjoy both the characters, the history and the magic. One you can really get lost in for a few hours.

I enjoyed this book probably as much as I did the first one. Sure there were parts of the story where it wasn't nearly as exciting as others, but the author really seemed to know how to suck someone into the story for the majority of the time. There were a few times when I couldn't wait to finally get to see how something was going to happen. Most especially when we were nearing the end.

Arik and Rebeka are quite happily married and things are looking pretty good for them. But their happiness is cut short when Rebeka is fooled by Bran and gets pulled back to her own time. Much to her and Arik's dismay. Neither refuses to give up though. Unfortunately, on her quest for a way back, Rebeka ends up having all of her memories of Arik and her time with him in the past taken away. Not knowing this, Arik does anything and everything he can think of to get to her. And finally, six months later, he makes it to the future.

Watching Arik deal with all the changes that have happened was quite entertaining. But the best was how he still acted like the Lord of the castle he was and that it actually worked so well. He never anticipated that Rebeka would not remember him, so he vows to woo her all over again and get her memories back no matter what it takes. Rebeka cannot deny the overwhelming attraction she has for Arik and the feelings he makes her feel are ones she just can't explain. So, much like the first book, she is confrontational with him but also tries to do right by him.

Arik finds himself just as busy in this time as he was in his own. Besides trying to win Rebeka over again, he is working hard to make the manor successful with the visitors and restore as much of it as he can. The lack of revenue is not the only problem Rebeka has to deal with when ownership of the manor comes into question and she has little time to find proof of all their claims. There was one person involved with all this that was incredibly suspicious and while they were indeed behind a plot, it was not in the way I was expecting at all.

Much by accident, Rebeka finally regains her memories of Arik and things move forward quite well from there. But when Arik realizes something is about to happen in his own time that he can never allow, he makes a decision that angers Rebeka even though she understands his reasons. Arik is lucky she loves him so much because once she figures out what he had found out, she is able to come up with a way to get back to him. And she isn't alone. Arik had earned the respect and loyalty of the present day "soldiers" of the manor and they are there when he needed them most.

I will say that the battle against Bran was rather anti-climatic, but I really liked how the book ended.

Arik is such the swoon worthy alpha male. There just doesn't seem any way one could not fall for him. His devotion to Rebeka and searching for her for those six months was beyond anything one would normally expect. And when they married in the present and he said his vows? I dare any female not to fall in love with him more after those words.

Really 4.5. I wanted to put that out there first. I don't read historical fantasies much, but have nothing against them. I was at a conference and met this author and she offered me a copy of the book to review. I really didn't realize it was part of a series or a string of books that are connected. I usually like to read books like this in order because I like to go chronologically. I guess with this "series" that point is moot. Ms. Casie does a really great job of giving up all the necessary information we need without copy and pasting past books. It worked within the story. It was well written and I found myself wanted to read all the other books. I just might at that.

There are many different points in this book where I felt touched and had tears in my eyes. I felt the love that Arik and Rebeka was as tangible as his sword. He is big bad when he needs to be and when he is with Rebeka and those he loves, he is a teddy bear. I love that in a guy. Rebeka knows who she is and who she is destined to be with. Their love is literally timeless.

A rough ride for Rebeka!

Firstly, I must say I didn’t read the first book and was pleasantly surprised how simply the author blended in the important bits from the first book without being cumbersome, and drawn out, yet the continuation felt fresh and vibrant. Secondly I feel the need to point out how throughout the book the author was able to mix in a nice panoramic storyline with the past and present briefly touching and then flitting away, while being intermingled with both romance and magic to bolster the strength of the characters and overall storyline. I was going to go on, but that’s all I feel necessary to say except this book was really quite a nice read and now as I realize that like others I will remain in the queue to continue with the storyline as it progresses in the coming books. I think this writer will go a long way.

A friend suggested I read this book and even through time travel is not my usual genera, I do love a good romance. This story was so well thought out and written I was hooked from the first page. The hero Arik is what a knight aught to be without being cliché and his bad boy image in the 21st century is so, so sexy. Rebeka the love of his life is smart, head strong and vulnerable. You can't help but fall in love with her too.
A great love story where their devotion to each other is so strong that even dark magick, events of the past, and mistakes of the present can't separate the two. It left me wanting more. I can’t wait to venture back in time and read about Arik and Rebeka’s early days in Knight of Runes.

I like this magical world where time travel is possible and good and evil battle it out but on a much deeper level. I didn't know what to expect but was really glad to have picked this up. The love between Arik and Rebeka transcends time. The action was well written and descriptive. The characters were interesting and nothing pleases me more than strong heroines, which Rebeka certainly was. I am looking forward to reading more. Great story!

This is my first book by Casie and I doubt it will be my last. Knight of Rapture is a time traveling romance where a woman traveled to present day then to the past to reunite with the love of her life only to be sent back to the future. What can he do... he finds a way to be with her no matter what the year. I truly enjoyed this novel. I think fans of the Outlander series will also like it.

This was a pretty good book. I hadn’t read this author before and wasn’t aware that this was the second book. I thought the author did a great job in letting new readers know what happened in the first book without being confused. I liked both characters. I really like it when time-travel books are done well, as this one was. I recommend.
