JESUS! I need to read a children's book and go to Confession after THIS read!
OK, so this is a little weird and different. I say that because normally, when you have a serial book situation, the first installment is basically an intro to the players. Like maybe who they are or what they're about or something, anything! So not so much with . I don't know the first thing about who Noah is, except he's a big bad biker, and enforcer of some sort and likes his sex a little on the rough side and very very dirty. I also don't know a damn thing about who Star is, except she's a waitress who's somehow gotten herself all hot and bother for Noah. OK, so maybe I know a little more about Star, like she's a waitress that maybe in another life she was a hooker that somehow, in a seven degrees of separation type of cluster-fuck, is now Noah's play-thing. Yeah, that's about all I can give ya because that's really all I know. We didn't even cover 12 hours in this installment, so I really don't even know where this story is going.
But what I CAN tell you, is what I read between the lines. Noah and Star, they're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl. If you know the song, then you'll understand and if you don't they you might be just a tad bit too young to read this story!

With gritty realism, Shari Slade starts us off on what promises to be a bumpy, sexy ride in this first part of a 5 part serial. It's not intended to be read as a standalone, but the parts are planned to be released in a reasonably quick succession so you won't have long to wait between them. And this is a good thing because once you start reading, you'll be ready for more! Told from Star's point of view, she gives us a glimpse of what life is like as a waitress in a diner, barely making ends meet when at the end of a long day He walks in.
" I can't process all of him at once. He's that big. He is scruff and muscle and a white T-shirt tucked into dusty jeans. He looks weathered and road weary, like most of Jimmy's clientele, but...more. Everything about him is intense."
He is Noah, a rough and ready member of the Devil's Host motorcycle club. He's there to collect a debt from Harry, Star's cousin who works with her at the diner. Upon seeing Noah, Harry disappears out the back door, running for his life and leaving Star to pay his debt, which Noah plans to collect -in the flesh.
I love how you get sucked into the story right from the first page as all of Star's thoughts and emotions are laid bare - her depression at the way her life is going, her instant yet fearful attraction to Noah, and her realization that if she doesn't have a choice, she might as well enjoy the ride. Yet though Noah has a tough exterior and a hard way about him there are glimpses of tenderness towards Star as the story progresses that make her suspect there is more to him than meets the eye. The sex between them is hot and intense and written with a bare honesty - no flowery words, love laments or the like - it's dirty all the way.
"He climbs in after me and presses the length of his body against mine. Lining us up so we are mouth to mouth. His fingers slide into my hair, and I sigh at the massaging touch, moan at the pinch and pull when he tangles it up into his fist. He works his other hand between us, trailing it up my inner thigh."
Star has to make some choices and the ones she makes are going to direct the course of her life. The ending of this part is set in such a way that if you wanted, you could let Star ride off into the sunset with Noah (so to speak) and assume they have a happily ever after. But there are enough clues to indicate that things are going to get worse before they get better, and Noah is clear that his MC life is driving all his decisions, including ones about Star. The intense sexual connection between them is what pulls you into this first part of the story and I can't wait to see where they are headed! 4 stars.

This is going to be short and sweet, just like the book. I give this edition 3 of 5 stars. I want to give it more, but I can't. Not because the book is not intriguing, it is. Not because it didn't make me want more, it does. There is just simply not enough story to comment on. For me, this is a prologue with not much introduction of the characters. These were just random people involved in a highly pressured situation. Having said that Shari Slade has set up one hellava story. We have a girl who lives at the end of her rope. Her life is hard and she is spent. We have a anti-hero, who is an enforcer for an motorcycle club. He's here to collect from the cook at the diner and she gets in the way. Her situation is dire and he holds the reigns to her destiny. Ok, now, tell me more, Shari Slade!

This whole novella takes place literally over a few hours. Star our heroine works dead end job for pennies, lives in a dead end apartment that smells like piss, has no car and nothing going for herself.
Harry or Henry or whatever is her cousin of some sort and he works in the kitchen of the diner she works in.. he is some sort of meth head or pill popper or whatever.. next thing you know some sort of biker walks in to collect money, Harry/Henry runs and instead he takes Star. Guess where he takes her?
To her apartment! And he bids her a good night, but Star the slut that she is with her dead end life has to practically beg for some penis, and that she does..however all she gets out of it is some finger playing..
The next morning she gets a wake up call when she realizes her finger-play didn't turn into a marriage proposal. The end..or in this case.. the cliffy!

I'm unsure on how to rate this book since I don't have a full picture of the main characters as a result I wasn't fully invested in them, didn't fully grasp their motivations so I don't know if they were true to themselves or not. I guess the next part will make the picture clearer.

I just finished Ride Me Hard and it was a quick read but very hot and sexy. Noah is the Enforcer for the Devils Host MC and he's come to collect a debt that Harry owes. His cousin Star is the one that intercepts Noah when he comes into the diner to get money from Harry. Harry splits which leaves Star there by herself. She doesnt have that kind of money, Noah will take it from her body. Can't wait to see what happens next!

What the hell just happened? OK, I get that this was a serial. But in the amount of pages it gave me, I have no idea what's going on. And I have no connection to the characters to decide if I care enough to keep going. Not horrible, but not enough to keep me interested.

Robin: Part one made me want to read more. I am trying to like Noah but so far he’s hot and kind of an asshole.
Jen: When I hit the last page I couldn’t believe it. I was like no please let there be another page hiding somewhere! Noah’s a total asshole but a hot asshole where I’m thinking “dude your asshole attitude may actually grow on me.� For as much as he is an asshole� he’s still smoking hot!!
Robin: True! Dude has a motorcycle. I’m like let me ride you and thanks for saving me from that loser cop.
Jen: Let me ride you...OR� just shove my head down there and “suck it�.
Robin: And let’s trash my apartment because my landlord is an asshole but not the good kind of asshole. Just the “sniffs my dirty underwear when I’m at work� kind of asshole.

This book was ok it was a short quick read. Star was working a dead end job as a waitress in a diner her cousin Harry got her the job. One night at closing Noah comes in to collect a debt that Harry owes and what does he do he runs. Star finds herself with the bad boy biker Noah. Star is weak. I thought that this book would be longer than what it was. The book had no clear direction and I know that this is a first book in a new series to me. This book was written well with no errors in spelling or grammar. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Holy Hotness, Batman! Let's just say that the sexy badass biker, Noah, was throwing out orders in his deep gravely voice and he didn't leave much room for thinking (wink-wink). It was short, fast, sexy, surprising and suspenseful. I can't wait for more, "Oh, the sweetness and the sorrow."

Cliffhanger!

Ah, serials. I can’t stand them. As a reader, it’s aggravating to be drip fed a few chapters of a book at a time and the wait in between in the end just annoys the heck out of me. I didn’t realize this series fell into this category when I picked up the first book until it was too late. I finally finished the fourth and final installment, and now I get to leave yet another crappy review all because the writer failed to do something so simple…just make it one damn book!
The first two installments were well written and keep the reader intrigued and engaged. Good writing, terrific editing but then in book three, things become sporadic. Character development is good up until the fourth installment when she takes the female lead and attempts to turn her into a strong heroine willing to stand up for what she wants, but in the end, as with most romance writers, takes away her backbone.
Now for my thoughts overall with the serial thing. I get it, from a marketing perspective, it gets you more reviews and drives up your ranking with the online booksellers. However, for the reader, it’s annoying as hell. At least with this authors work, she didn’t milk me dry the way others have. One NY Times Best Selling writer did and it forever put a bad taste in my mouth for this type of release of a story. In the end, I paid twelve ninety-nine for all of them. Okay, so you believe you can’t sell your well written story for that price in one installment? That’s not faith in your work or yourself. If this price is what you believe your readers should pay, then charge it. Grow as set and do it. This writer didn’t do that, in fact, I took advantage of the first book being free, and looked today and it appears as if books two and three are free as well now, but I wish she would have grouped them all together, charged my card three-ninety-nine and given me a better story. I could have lived with that. It also would have received four stars.

This is a motorcycle "romance" in 90 pages. There isn't much to describe because it's a motorcycle romance. This novella doesn't really offer anything knew to the genre and continues to perpetuate the alpha male who is entitled to staking his claim. All the usual stuff, but this one lacks substance and pales in comparison to motorcycle novels like . The characters are just there and offer no substance. There's no characterization and no plot. I've read worse, but it's a Kindle Freebie. It's fun to read for free, but not worth buying.

First time reading Shari’s and although the book is really short, she got to me and I have to know what happens next. I’m not even a fan of MC’a books, but this one I did like. Told only in Star’s POV, I am very curious about what brought her to the precarious life she is living and also about Noah’s personality.

Star's got a crappy job at a crappy diner that's just about to go out of business, a crappy apartment, and not much of a future, yet she keeps her head up and moves on. When a mysterious and sexy biker stops by the diner to get a payment from another employee, she can't help but be interested in him. Attracted even. After he saves her from another man, it's clear her new dark and dangerous friend is interested too.
Noah knows what he wants -- the money he's supposed to collect and Star, and he's not afraid to take it. He's sexy, commanding and on the edge of scary. Only Star isn't all that afraid of him, which I found refreshing and she's ready to take what he wants to give her.
This was a great start to this serialized story. I like serials, they are great when I want a short read, and Ride Me Hard gave me enough to be satisfied and enough to want more. Can't wait for the next installment!

Star works at Jimmy's Diner at a dead end job. A lot of time on her feet and little to show for it. No man in her life and barely any family. If she doesn't make more money soon she will be out in the streets and without transportation she is stuck in a no win situation.
Noah is an enforcer for the Devil's Host MC. He enforces the rules and collects debts. Those debts have to be paid one way or another. He doesn't take no for an answer.
Star and Noah have an instant attraction. She knows she should be scared of him and for her life. Her attraction is way to strong for that. Noah wants Star. He wants her beneath him. He doesn't keep females around. He is a hit it and leave it man.
This serial is one that will keep me coming back for more. It's only seven chapters but they are packed with so much of a story. I would suggest this to people who are used to reading serials or want to try one. I really enjoyed it. Thank you Shari Slade for your hard work.

This is growly and aggressive and made me uncomfortably excited. Like, should I really be enjoying that gritty, hard, sexy as fuck blow job scene that caresses the line of consent? Answer: hell yes.
Star lives the hard life but Noah’s life is harder. When he comes to collect a debt from Star’s cousin who works at the restaurant she waitresses she knows he’s trouble, she knows she should back away and run and yet…she wants to be unburdened and uncontrollable. Does she have a choice in what happens next? That’s debatable, and that’s part of why the heat felt out of this world hot.

Smoking hot read. You cannot help but love a bad boy. Damn what turn on. Star was a waitress at Jimmy’s Diner. It was a diner in which her no good for nothing cousin named Harry had help her get. One night this rough looking biker guy named Noah came in. Just one look you could tell he was not one you wanted to mess with, but yet had that bad boy look that turned you on. Noah was there with one reason to collect the debt Harry owed. Harry takes off leaving Star in danger to pay the debt he owed.
I so cannot wait to see what happen next. Star had found herself not knowing what she was going to face and not sure she had a chose in the matter. What will she be required to do to pay Harry’s debt? Will Noah become her lover and protector or become her pimp?
I so cannot wait to see what happen next. Star had found herself not knowing what she was going to face and not sure she had a chose in the matter. What will she be required to do to pay Harry’s debt? Will Noah become her lover and protector or become her pimp?

Holy Hot Bikers Ride Me Hard was hot and dirty the way I like them. I loved the story and the characters were great as well. Just wish the book was longer though. Ride Me Hard hooks you on the first page. It was one of those that you won't be able to put down. I loved this book can't wait for the next one. Ride Me Hard has some great sex scenes and action that leaves you wanting more.
Star is a waitress at Jimmy's Diner. Noah is a bad boy biker that is smoking hot. Noah is at Jimmy's Diner to collect a debt that is owed.
Wow can't wait till the next book looking so forward to reading more from this author Shari Slade. If you like a hot dirty bad boy biker than this book is for you.

Dear God, I am sweating like a sinner in church!!!! What was that??? I am very picky with MC books but I loved this one!!!
A young waitress.
A gruff biker.
A debt to settle.
Lust.
A tricky combination.
I loved Noah....He is...dark and complicated.
The book was short but very well developed. That is the trick with novellas. The writing had me captivated. Very compelling. Gritty atmosphere and a dirty, utterly enthralling hero. I cannot wait for the next book. This was fresh and unique. A gem.

Picked this up for free. It's a really short introduction to this installment series that has 3 books out so far. Each installment is about 40 minutes of reading. Books 2/3 are just .99 but while I stayed interested in the first installment chapter, it wasn't enough for me to pay for the next two books. I'm not really sure how many installments there are to this story. It's insta-sex; OTT possessive.

This was alright.
Star was very wishy washy and didn't really know what she wanted. Noah was a douchebag, but there were hints of him having a softer side.
It was a well written, short and hot read. I would happily continue reading, but I'm not dying to get the next instalment just yet.

October 15, 2016I'm realizing these MC romances are total Darcy-arcs. They hero is an ass to the heroine's face, but behind the scenes he's saving her sister from ruin. I was not feeling Noah at first; misogynist, brute, jerk. And then Star looked beyond his words at his actions, and we both decided to take a chance.
