FREEBIES are often good for MORE than one day. I have gathered all my FREEBIES on a special shelf: Kindle-freebies (currently over 600 books) /review/list...
OK, I think I'm leaving this review in the right place.
I hate to even say this, but I have to as I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I may not have left the review otherwise.
I am so disappointed in this book. I was very excited. The prequel was so intriguing and the premise was a favorite of mine. However, the final result is, well, not up to par. This book is well below the bar set my Cooper.
I had to continually remind myself that the characters were in their 20's. They acted like spoiled, annoying 16 year olds most of the time. We get very little of the characters in this book. There are some angsty informative diary entries, but for the most part the doormat-like heroine acts without sense for most of the book, and while I understand that we will learn the secrets in the second book, however the story bounced around virtually uncontrollably while each character (some of which are supposed to be intelligent businessmen) were extremely juvenile and lacked common sense.
I will probably read the next book (which I hope is the conclusion as I didn't realize the story would not be complete in this book), as I have a natural need to finish a story, but I am no where near as excited for it as I was.
Wow this wasnt what I expected. I liked the prequel so I was looking forward to reading this but what did I just read.lol everyone acting like 16 year olds and what's is this fifty shades? lol I didn't expect it to go this way and it ends in a cliffy ugh!
I'm still going to read next one because I'm curious as to how this is going to play out.
I appear to be in the minority here but I was disappointed with this book. First of all, there is a cliffhanger. I didn't know that as nothing I had previously read indicated there would be a part 2. I liked the premise and the prequel (My Fake Fiance) had me intrigued. What I didn't like was the juvenile behavior of the main characters - these are people who are supposed to be adults and successful business people, but they acted like a bunch of middle schoolers. Mila is so obsessed with getting together with her childhood crush that she ignores all the weird behavior. Is TJ really going to use his best friend's sister in a game with his father? What is the deal with the father anyway? Too many questions, no real answers, immaturity and ignored common sense.
I'm confused...are these people supposed to be adults? It sounds as if Mila has had sex before but when anyone suggests anything sexual her response is "gross" or "you're disgusting". I was embarrassed for these characters! If I was at my family's summer place and the guy I had the hots for brought a girl who continually put me down, I would say something...you're just going to let someone treat you like crap while they are vacationing on YOUR dime? This was painful-not sure I can finish. I have to keep scanning the pages hoping for it to be over. And where was Troy all the time? Just tired? Mila was just too busy to bother to really ask who he was-just too busy on your vacation to get five minutes to ask? Weird, just weird.
this book was amazing!!! love how determined Mila is to get with TJ and her longing to be with him and wanting to no longer be looked at as her brothers little sister! Mila with the help of her best friend Sally set out to make TJ jealous and discover what he's missing out on by not being with Mila. the plan dosent go as planned when TJ shows up with "Barbie" . things go farther than anyone plans and things take a very interesting turn. and it has TJ make a proposal to Mila that she did not see coming. this book has angst and some hot intimacy scenes my kindle almost overheated-!!!! the ending had me on the edge of my seat....I can't wait til the concluding book!!!! another fabulous 5 star read from Helen & JS Cooper
I'm really confused. I was so excited for this book, stopped reading a book with AMAZING reviews midway, because I was so excited that this book FINALLY came out after the release date was pushed back more than 2 months. What I was left with after reading this book (that initially claimed it was a standalone) was so much confusion and kinda weirded out. The whole walking in on the dad, and now he's some weirdo sex freak wanting to test boundaries (wasn't aware we were headed for 50 shades territory by the synopsis either) nor was I thrilled that the first 6 chapters were the same as the prequel .... There went like 30+% of the book. Will I read the second installment? Probably not unless it's free. The heroine was super childish, talked a huge game in her head and then acted like she was in middle school whenever she talked to anyone.
Also my version still had a ton of typos ... Kinda of annoying when the release date was pushed back two months.
Holy heck this book was hot!!! I loved this book from the minute I started until I finished it. Mila has secretly crushed on TJ Walker since she was a young girl. TJ is her brother Cody's best friend. He is basically a member of their family. The problem is that for years as Mila's crush turns into full blown love, TJ only sees her as a little sister. Or that's what she thinks. Mila is recently out of college and resides that's it's time to finally make her move on TJ. On a family trip one weekend Milan enlists the help of her best friend Sally to help make it happen. But as with JS Cooper books there is a great twist that Mila had no idea was headed her way. Just who exactly is TJ Walker? He has many secrets he's kept from everyone and it seems Mila is about to find out exactly who he is. This book was seriously hot. I loved the love/hate relationship Mila and TJ had going on, it created the perfect amount of sexual angst. I highly recommend this book.
I'm not quite sure I understand or even care about his real plan. He seems like a psycho who's thoughts are gross and his actions seem to have no reason other than being selfish and did I say gross yet?
Idk. I like the idea of girl falls for bro's best friend but how dumb this story is.. Lol I cannot
Yes, Please TJ Walker!!! TJ Walker - hot, sexy, bad boy billionaire, lady's man, and Mila's older brothers best friend! - prepare to swoon and get you panties in a bunch because he is pulling out all the tantalizing tricks in this book! I don't think Mila really knows what she is fully getting herself into! Will it be what she really wants, or what she needs?
What is TJ's plan though? Will he just end up breaking Mila's heart? Or will they get their happily ever after? The stakes are high!!
I absolutely loved this book! Another scorcher by Helen Cooper! This book will have you flipping page after page and staying up all night reading to find out what happens next! There are all kinds of twists and turns that will have your head spinning!
Follow TJ & Mila's story along with their friends to find out what happens! Be prepared for a cliffhanger that will leave you asking "Did that really happen? and What will happen next?" Can't wait to read the second installment to find out the rest of this juicy story!
This book had such hype surrounding it's release that in one clicked without any thought. Big mistake, it seems like this is some kind of 50 shades wannabe book? I'm not even sure if that is accurate. TJ and Mila throughout the whole book don't even have a relationship but just some childish back and forth games. Then at like 75% of the book tj has a contract for her to sign so she can be his 'fake fiance' for four weeks because of his father's company. I really don't understand the story line other than Mila and tj wanted to have sex with each other. Don't think I'm going to buy book two, since this ended abruptly.
Received an ARC of this book for a honest review! This book surpassed any expectations, I couldn't put it down! I absolutely loved it, another amazing book by an amazing author. I cannot wait to see how TJ and Mila turns out in book 2!
So if you look at my "ratings" and "read shelf" you may notice I very rarely write reviews. Unless I feel very passionate about a book for some reason, I admit I don't bother writing a review, I just rate it. Well I'm passionate about this book, but not for good reasons. First of all when it says "Stand Alone" in the description, I expect it to be full book. Beginning, middle, end, conflict and resolution, NO loose ends. That is not what we got here. This is NOT a stand alone, it is half of a story. I am extremely upset that I paid 3.99 for a book, only to find out at the very end of the book that it was a cliffhanger. In my opinion, this is not right and I feel the author should work to fix this. I don't know if she is self-published or works with a company, but I feel she should seriously consider putting the second half of the story up for free.
Now regardless of my disappointment about the surprise of this book being a two-book series, I wasn't a huge fan of the book. I agree with many people that Mila sounded like she was a teenager, as did TJ. Then out of nowhere TJ had this whole other personality. Quite honestly I felt like the book didn't have the right "flow". Maybe it will all make sense in book 2, but I won't be purchasing it to find out (the only way I will read it is if I somehow get it for free). This book felt like it had too many ideas coming to light right at the end. It felt like two completely different genres. In the beginning it was young adult, then it attempted to turn into a romantic suspense/drama with light BDSM thrown in there.
This book pissed me off.. I do not like the heroine, I do not like the hero and most of all I do not like the story. How can this be titled Four Week Fiance when until the end of this book, which is a cliffy (another bummer), they have not really started their fake fiance arrangement. Other trigger is the cheating.
The worst part of this book? That there's another one....
I'm not usually a rude review, but this sucked ass.
The dialogue was extremely juvenile and corny. It's like watching your favorite 80's TV show and realizing how ridiculous it is, but way worse. The only reason I even finished this is because I've made a vow to start chipping away at my TBR....but that means I have the next book as well. Ugh. FML
My Fake Fiancé is a really great story, but at times I felt that it moved too slow.
We meet Mila who has had a crush/been in love with her brother Cody's best friend T.J. for YEARS. She's six years younger than him and she thinks he's only ever seen her as a child. She comes up with a plan to seduce T.J. while at her family's lake house for the weekend, and it definitely doesn't go as she expected.
T.J. and Mila definitely have something, I will say that, but at points when we got to see Mila' in younger years, it appeared she only loved him because of his looks, now for anything good that he did for her. He and her brother were truly jerks to her most of the time, so I didn't get the "love" she had for him at times.
During the weekend trip away, things definitely get interesting. I enjoyed the games these two played with one another to drive each other nuts, but I figured T.J. had an ulterior motive, so I'm not sure if I do trust how he feels for Mila. His plan was to get her to agree to be his fake fiancé for four weeks, and I'm not 100% believing his reasons for it. Something is definitely up, and I will be looking forward to part 2 to find out what is going on.
The secondary characters of this book are definitely interesting. Sally, Mila's best friend is kind of crazy and I loved her for that. Cody is a jerk and I can see why him and T.J. are best friends. Nonno is probably my favorite character of this book as he really does make sense of all the crap the girls go through and tries to give them good advice. He really is Mila's best friend, and he does give her some solid advice and I just hope she follows it. Then there is Troy and Barbie, who I really do not like, trust me you will understand when you read this book.
I really did enjoy part one of Mila and T.J.'s story and will be looking to pick up part two when it releases. It is an interesting premise and T.J. and Mila are definitely HOT together. So why you ask did I give it a three and a half star rating? When I initially pre-ordered the book and on release day, the book was advertised as a stand alone, but when I got to about 60% in this book I realized that could not be right... and the book ends in a pretty big cliff hanger. I got into the book thinking it was a stand alone to find out that it is book one of two. If it wasn't for that this would definitely have been a four star read all together!
Ugh..what did I just read? When I read the prequel, I didn't feel a good vibe on it. Sadly to say, I didn't enjoy the full length novel either. I know I'm in the minority in rating this book but damn, I was just disappointed. I had no connect between these two characters. Their mind games and juvenile behavior were OVER the top. These so call adults (22 and 27 year old) with successful jobs are acting like a bunch of middle schoolers. And the secrecy was a bit madding too. There's too many secrets, questions, strange (fifty shades) behavior- REALLY:(, and no real answers. Wait!!! I almost forgot, it ends in a cliffy. I'm conflicted, I really like this author just this particular series is not my cup of tea. Again, just my opinion.
Well they say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Though i should have judged this one by the cover. It is a teens fiction. The characters are so immature, and the author seems not capable of making up her mind what she wants to do with her heros and what personality will her give each of them. At first, this guy TJ was a jerk and a playboy... then she changed her mind and made him the most romantic guy ever who is in love since 10 years or so with his friend's sister, then she changed her mind once again and made him a dominant with a contract... I have chosen to read this novel since i read that it was a new york times best seller once. It is not that I am not enjoying it but it is kind of insulting my intelligence at some points.
Wow that was a crazy turn of events. And the funny thing about reading this was you knew something big was going to happen and stuff does. But then BAM. Cliffhanger. That threw me for a loop. I am dying to know why Tj is doing this to Mila. I am eager to find out how this is all going to play out in book two. Which can't come fast enough
