Casey and Nate are back!

High school senior Casey Donovan is in trouble. Again. If only she had trusted in Nate’s loyalty when he traveled to Spain with his college basketball team despite being accompanied by the cheerleading squad and Fiona the Floozy who'd made it super clear she wanted Nate for herself. Then she wouldn’t have made that impulsive trip to Hollywood and let Austin do that stupid thing that threatened her relationship with Nate, and triggered a trip into the past. Only something is wildly wrong. She’s not in the 1860s like she should be. It’s 1929. And she didn't come alone.

**Counter Clockwise and Clockwork Crazy are two parts to one story arc.**

Once again I end another book by Strauss with a smile on my face. Well, sort of. That little cliffhanger of an ending sure had me railing. But I am just so in love with this series and where it has taken off since I first started it almost 4 years ago. Wow! I can't believe it has been that long ago. But this series is amazing and such a wonderful read.

I have loved Casey and her quirky adventures back into 1860's. But this time it is different. This time things go from bad to worse in the blink of an eye. And not just in her time travel life. Things fall apart for Casey in her present time life, as well. Anything that can go wrong...does go wrong...and Casey isn't sure how to turn it all around.

I will say that I wasn't too happy with Casey towards the end. I found her to be a bit flippant with her attitude at times concerning Nate and the trouble between them. I think she got a tad spoiled to him over the year and half they were together and just thought that it would all work out in the end without considering her actions. Does it work out? Guess you'll just have to read it, won't ya?

This new journey that Casey partakes in definitely amps up the storyline and gives fans of the series a fresh route to venture out on. I am excited for what is to come in CLOCKWORK CRAZY. There is no telling what is going to happen and I for one am ready! 5 Stars!

I have loved this series since the first book and this one doesn't alter that opinion at all!
This is another great continuation to the Clockwise series and I absolutely loved the story and the way Casey and Nate show their vulnerability in this book.

The book starts off with intense emotions especially on Casey's side. The story begins at a stage in their relationship where Casey is feeling a bit insecure and it shows in her emotions being all over the place. Casey is usually balanced and seems to be in control in every situation but this book brings out her vulnerable side and I could feel her every emotion as I read the book. And Nate goes from a being a normally supportive boyfriend to a more tired version. I had been thinking for a while that he would show the strain one of these days and this seems to be the book which puts a bit of a damper on their relationship.

I read this book in one sitting. I stayed up late to read this book and that's how much engrossing it was! It literally kept me wanting to devour it as I kept turning the pages. The pace was steady and no dips at all while the plot of time travel as usual piqued my interest. I love reading about her adventures while she is"tripping". I didn't see the time travel twist coming while I liked coming to know more about Adeline. Is there going to books for her? I would love that!

Another twist which caught me by surprise was the betrayer. I so didn't see that! Was I blind or what?

In short, I couldn't put down this book at all! ( figuratively, of course ) I would recommend it to young adult readers who like an adventurous time travel romance.

My one line review : An intense continuaton to a YA time travel romance series

My rating : 5/5

My reread factor : 4/5

Until now this is the book I enjoyed the most of the whole series. More things happen, the pacing is faster and lessons are learned. A very entertaining read.

Three time travels in this book. The first one is triggered by a wrong decision and jealousy. Together with Adeline who she meets at a party they travel to a time that is 'new' for the both of them. Finding their way and surviving is not that easy and things go very wrong.
The second time teaches her that changing a little thing in the past can mean huge consequences for the future and putting that right is another challenge she didn't have to face before and makes a third trip in the past necessary.

The book ends with a cliffhanger. She is confronted with the fact that she is still young and immature and when it comes to relationships she still has a lot to learn. “Don't do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you.

Having never read any other books in the series, I had no problem being sucked into this one. I didn't need to know everything that happened in past books to enjoy this one but I'm definitely curious and will probably go back and read the series so I can discover more about Nate and Casey. I loved the whole time travel thing and all the drama that played out. I can't wait to discover what happens next.

I have been enjoying this series, however, I was a little disappointed with this one. The number of "coincidences" is more unbelievable than the possibility of time-travel itself. It seemed the author just needed to find quick, convenient ways to get her characters into and out of different circumstances. There are still aspects of the time-travel that are left undefined (what happens to their cellphones, school work, laptops, etc.? Some things get left behind, other items can be brought with them, there's no clear rules). I also found a mistake in this one. The characters take a bus to get somewhere, but when they need to leave quickly, they jump in their car to make their getaway.

Having said all of that, I still like the characters and overall I'm enjoying this light read. I will be continuing on with the series.

Another fun addition to the series. However, most of the characters in this book feel unrecognizable compared to how they were in previous installments. The plot also takes a sudden turn and creates a few plot holes along the way. Both the "love interests" (I'm putting that in quotes because there's nothing lovable about them to me) were insufferable. This book was entertaining but definitely my least favorite in the series. Despite that, I'm still picking up the last book to see how the author wraps everything up.Ìý

Like the other Clockwise books, this one was interesting and kept my attention. You never know what to expect and can't help wondering what sort of trouble Casey is going to get into next. However, the plot was more complicated and a bit harder to follow. Still a good read, though I don't think the characters Casey meets in the past are as interesting as the ones she encounters in the first two books.

The amount of errors in this book drove me crazy. There were so many words that were just wrong. Also, I understand that the narrator is a teenager, but she still shouldn’t be saying things like “I could care less.

Casey and Nate's relationship is seriously tested when he goes to Spain to play with his college's basket ball team. With Casey upset about his photos with the cheerleader Fiona, she's about ready to time travel. Only this time, she is off to a new time, and she's not alone. She's tripped back to the year 1929 and got involved in a rather dangerous situations. Resourceful girl manages to get back home after tripping, but things do not seem to have stayed the same.

I really enjoyed the premise behind this book - a time-traveling girl who ends up in the wrong time? Yes please! I was a little bit concerned about reading this book, since it's book 5 in the series, but one of the first things after the title page is a note that you can start with this book and be alright, so I decided to just go for it.

I was a little confused for a while, since there's not really a lot of explanation about Casey and her abilities or her relationship with Nate, so I spent a lot of time trying to figure things out. I mean, it wasn't terrible, there was definitely enough information there to understand what was going on and why it was such a big deal that Casey ends up in 1929 instead of 1860, but I just feel like reading the rest of the series first would have made this book more enjoyable.

Other than not knowing all of the information though, I actually really did enjoy this story. Casey is very immature, and it was kind of annoying how little she trusts Nate, but she usually did have a pretty good reason, so I couldn't hold it against her that much. It was fun to see her adapt to a new time period and try to figure everything out. I was happy for her that she didn't have to go about learning everything by herself, because I could see how that might be terrifying and awful.

This book is well written and I found myself not wanting to put it down! Luckily, it was relatively short, so I could read the whole thing in one setting. I was left wanting more, so I picked up the rest of the series as soon as I finished reading, and I can't wait to get a chance to read them! I'll definitely be looking for more from Elle Strauss, and would give this book a 3.5/5 (although I bet it will be higher once I read the other books and can pick up the subtle references!).

Wow. Just... Wow.
That twist completely blind sided me and I'm still sad over it. Ugh!!
I'm not kidding, I actually cried over this book. Fricken cried. I feel so ridiculous, but that ending just made me so sad and mad. Really Nate? WHY CAN'T NATE FORGIVE HER?? THE AUSTIN THING WASN'T EVEN HER FAULT!!
The plot itself was very fast paced, and I (again) wasn't bored for a split second.

Some random thoughts that I had while reading
-I wanted to throw Austin out, maybe in a trash can, out of the story
-Casey was being too hard on herself, blaming herself for what Austin did
-the new time travel place was awesome
I never saw the twists coming, (which could be because I'm a newbie to time travel books), but thats high praise coming from me. It means that the twists are REALLY hard to figure out.
The plot did keep me on my toes, and I loved seeing Casey time travel to a new era.
And It was nice to have Casey's pov back, but she made me just as frustrated as Adeline, tbh. Casey made the worse decisions in this book, which ultimately broke her heart.
WHY DID CASEY MAKE IT SEEM LIKE THE AUSITIN THING WAS HER FAULT??
Because it wasn't. At. All. This other girl keeps posting pictures of Austin and Casey together, (the fact that they were together was purely coincidencental, btw), but Nate thinks that they're TOGETHER together.
So, yeah. I'm still mad about that and the horrible cliff hanger ending.
Another complaint that I have is the writing mistakes. Really? How could a bestselling author be so sloppy? I know its not Elles fault... Its her editors. But it's still sloppy, if you ask me.
Now for the age old question. Would I recommend this book?
Yes. Just be ready for an ending that breaks your heart and makes you cry.
Full content to come soon.

This had been a reliable 3-star series for me over the last couple of years. A step up this time.

Spoilers.

I'm older than the target audience, and while I found the plot convenient and a bit formulaic, sometimes you want that sort of thing, especially if it's in a genre you love. Most plots have involved characters traveling back in time to a location that's very familiar to them, being taken in by a comfortable contemporary who is well-used to them vanishing at the drop of a dime, only too happy to take them back the next time they appear in the past. Rinse. Repeat.

We've had two storylines from Casey's perspective, one from Adeline, and a vignette from Nate's perspective retelling his portion of the Casey storyline. Casey's last journey led to her to finally identify the fates of the Watson family, her 1860s protectors, and Adeline's discovery of the fate of her 1955 protector made it likely that future journeys to these timelines would not quite feel the same. Despite a lot of convenient and repetitious plot points, Counter Clockwise does a solid job of changing the map. Tripping back together, Casey and Adeline seem to shatter their loops and both end up in the 1920s. Off their loop, their actions are not already baked into the timeline, leading to them returning to an altered present day. The loss of their protectors, their missing of those friends and the jeopardy the slightest change can have on the present breathed a lot of life into this book.

As for Nate, I'll just say this. The vignette from his perspective, while not fresh in my mind, left the impression that I could do without him. There was a whole jealousy plot arc here, and the villain behind it was almost mustache-twirly in characterization. I didn't care for it, and I frankly don't care for Nate. Enjoy your freedom, Casey!

Interesting take on time travel etecetera. CLOCKWISE: A young adult time travel romance. (The Clockwise Series Book 1) CLOCKWISER: A Young Adult Time Travel Romance (The Clockwise Series Book 2) Like Clockwork: A Young Adult Time Travel Romance. (The Clockwise Series Book 3) Counter Clockwise: A young adult time travel romance (The Clockwise Collection Book 4) Clockwork Crazy: A young adult time travel romance. (The Clockwise Collection Book 5) CLOCKED: A young adult time travel romance novella companion to Clockwise. (The Clockwise Series Book 6) ; also received copies could review if wanted to, but since review everything I read....

*Note on Amazon shows #4 here as #6, don't know what that does to order of books, think it put #4 on goodreads so pushes #4 there to #5 here and then #5 to #6 here instead, the book in question is the only novella

I enjoyed some of the twists in the book and the facts that Casey stretches her wings a bit and finds a way around some of her fears. I feel that she holds back too much and is too cautious most of the time. Obviously when dealing with time travel, you do not want to mess things up for the future, but many times she seems like an old lady instead of a teenager.

I did not feel that this book moved as smoothly..and as this series progresses, I am not as intrigued with the series, the characters or the story line.

I was a bit shocked by the ending of the book, but at the same time what do you expect when a guy changes his life for a chance with you...and then the antics of teenagers/young adults get in the way of the ideal.

Another great instalment in the Clockwise series! Elle Strauss has managed to do it once again! She's brought back Casey, Nate, and Adeline for a fabulous new book! The story continues, expands, and explodes as Casey and Adeline meet up and manage to "trip" back to a new time period. Once again, Kudos to the author for managing even the tiny details of the time period so accurate!
When Casey and Nate "trip" to the new time period back home, they manage to set off a series of events that change the course of their lives. With their relationship already a bit rocky, will they get the chance to set everything right?
This is an awesome read for the young and not so young!

I really enjoyed this continuing journey of Casey and Nate time traveling through history. Adeline and Casey finally meet and ooops... accidentally "trip" together. This brings a whole new set of issues to the table. Instead of tripping to their familiar time lines of either the 1800's or 1950's they trip to the 1920's. Not only do they both have to navigate the new time line, they now have to deal with the issues that caused them to trip in the first place. This book kept me awake...could not put it down to sleep! ;)

I always enjoy time travel books...just wonderful flights of fancy. The "Clockwise" series by Elle Strauss have been so much fun to read. Just finished Counter Clockwise, the latest one, and it was great. You never know what is around the corner and the surprises just keep coming. Although the books can be read as individual stories it is nice to follow the characters from one book to the next. It's hard to put the book down once you start as you want to find out what's coming. I am looking forward to the next book of the series.

I've read the author's other books in the Clockwise series and have enjoyed them. Counter Clockwise was also a great read, a book I couldn't put down. With the characters from previous Clockwise books, Elle Strauss creates a snafu in the whole going-back-in-time business. All I could think is "but how are they going to get out of this?" I enjoyed the twists and turns, and the relationships between characters. I loved Casey's strength even though she is out of her element and scared. It was great to be caught up in the story.

I just love the characters in this series and was so glad to find that it wasn't over. The things that happened in this book were rather complicated compared to the others and I loved all the changes that happened. Some of the new characters were great and some I hated, but I think I was supposed to feel that way so YAY! The romance part was rather distressing though and the ending made me cry. I hope Casey can survive what happened and somehow find a happy ending. I kind of saw it coming, but was very sad when it did.

I have to say that Elle Strauss has done it again. This book was my favorite so far in this series. I just loved all the twists in the story. It was great! I loved how Casey got to meet up with Adeline again and go on a wild adventure. New time travel issues were created with finesse and ingenuity. I loved every minute and can't wait until the next in the series!!

I think this might be the best one yet!!! It has everything an amazing book needs. Plus extra bonus intrigue I wasn't expecting! From the two sets of characters coming together, drama, mystery, new time period and the future changing. Which is the ultimate question of time travel. What can happen to the present and future? Well it's answered in this book! The cliff hanger is also quite a douse! Already starting the 6th book! Completely recommend, when done with the others.

Life is difficult when you're a time traveller. Casey's been travelling back to the 1860s since she was 10. She's made friends there and has always found a way to look after herself in that time.
Now she travels to the 1920s and things aren't the same at all. It's a violent time and Casey finds herself in more trouble than she can handle. Then things start changing when she returns to her present. Will she be able to fix things or will she be stuck in an alternate timeline?

I finished the 4th book in the series today (they say 5th if you count the short one told from Nate's point of view). I've been enjoying it. I could do without some of the teenage drama, and it has a bit less maturity than some of the other young adult series I enjoy, but the science fiction aspect is interesting, and I do like a good romance (even if it includes teen drama).

Again, I appreciate the cleanliness and imagination of Strauss' work. This installment had more than a few editorial misses, too many repetitions of the storyline for being such a short work, and a few dropped lines (which may be picked up in the next installment), but overall, followed the fun, historically driven theme as the rest of this series.

I liked this book, but I also thought it was at times, rather silly. I loved seeing Adeline again! But the idea of Casey changing her timeline like that is strange. I am not sure I like this "ode" to Back to the Future. And how it was so easy for her to make things right again...?

I guess I will see how the last book goes!!

Too intriguing, entertaining, and wholesome to quit

In my last review I thought there were 3 in this series by Lee Strauss. But I just finished this one and I'm guessing there are 5. (I cannot leave this review and go check - that's how Kindle works *shrug*. Actually, I'm tired of the teen romance thing but I'm too caught up in the tale to quit. So, here I go.
