When the Muslim Brotherhood orchestrates a terror strike against commercial air travel, the president blames Syria and is ready to go to war. Then Adam Drake, a patriotic lawyer from Oregon and former special forces operator, discovers that powerful people in Washington are corrupted by illegal foreign campaign money. The source of the illegal campaign money appears to also be funding a chain of terror training camps scattered around the country.
Are the terror camps and the attacks on commercial air travel connected? Can Drake find out who’s betraying the country before it’s too late? Read CALL IT TREASON and find out..
National media keeps the public focused on trivia while ignoring controversial events to placate lobbyists. The appendix provides stories you may have missed the first time. Liberty and freedom applies to both patriots and evildoers. The book provides a possible scenario regarding domestic training camps.
In this installment of the Drake series, Adam is asked to look into the prospective buyer of a large ranch in Oregon. The buyer purportedly represents an organization dedicated to giving inner city Muslim youths a camp to attend and enable them to escape city life.
Adam continues to encounter one questionable character after another, both in Oregon and in our nation's capital, while investigating the group. After visiting one of the group's camps in West Virginia and encountering several armed soldier types, he decides to tell the group's attorney that he's going to recommend that his client not sell the ranch.
That's when the danger gets shifted into high gear. Public airliners begin falling from the sky, with witnesses reporting seeing a streak going towards the plane just before it explodes and crashes. While the government believes them to be Iranian in origin, Drake thinks the Muslim group is involved.
Another action packed story that could have come from today's headlines, Scott Matthews strikes again. A hard book to put down!
I am enjoying this series and have read (listened to) them back to back.
On this occasion, I listened to the Kindle Assisted Reader version of it on my Amazon Alexa (far superior to listening to it on my Kindle) but not, as is to be expected, half as good as the narrator of the first 3 books in the series. I wish that they would produce an audiobook version of the rest of the series.
This story was, once again credible (and I only think that now, because in 2025 I have no confidence in the calibre of all of the elected officials currently in the White House), you’d be forgiven for accepting that the situation as portrayed in this novel, could be highly credible!
Reading this with that scenario in the back of your mind, makes you wonder
On another plot point - I don’t like the relationship between Adam and Elizabeth. So I’m not enjoying those interactions, but I love the camaraderie between Adam, Mike and Mike’s Team. I shall persevere until Elizabeth tips me over the edge.
Adam Drake is in the middle of a mess again. He went to Washington DC to investigate an offer for a ranch in Oregon. The plot develops from there is a conspiracy involving camps around the US for inner-city youth run by Muslims. As it develops there are many levels to the story and it makes for a very exciting story. I like the Way Scott Matthews writes the story and it really gets right into the middle of the action. I recommend this book for all readers of adventure and conspiracy.
I started reading this series hoping it would get better. It didn’t. Names keep changing in error as if the writer forgot who they were as do their backgrounds. Places are referred to incorrectly. Its Commodore Barry Bridge not Berry. Needs major editing as words are left out and others added where the sentence makes no sense . The story itself not so interesting rather ridiculous in parts.
Firstly this book was irritating to read because whoever did the proofreading didn’t have a very good grasp of basic English & half way through the book the main protagonist’s name inexplicably changed from Hassan to Hassad!
Despite the above I actually enjoyed the book & have downloaded the next in the series.
I think Scott Mathews is one of the best action authors today. His story’s are great, his characters are likable, his settings are accurate and his pace is pitch perfect. His protagonist, Adam Drake, is one cool dude.
Book to book... Finish one and start the next. Doubt Scott can publish them as fast as I'm reading them unfortunately. Great reads, pretty much in line with my military heritage, upbringing and politics. Completely recommend this series...
Good story, although getting a little predictable. But all spoiled by the typos(at a crucial part it says Shia when it should have said Sunni,) missing words and poor continuity.
This 4th book in the Adam Drake series had a frighteningly real scenario that was very believable. The partnership of Drake and Casey grows with every book as does the romance with Liz. Great read.
Every book I have Read, is a page turner to see what happens next. Adam and Casey are the kind of American's that should be running the country, no fooling around.
I chose a 5 star rating, because of the current attacks on groups of people in America. Trump voters would like this book. Muslims are the terrorist brotherhood mentioned in the book. Politics also plays a big part of the story. Infiltration of foreign money into politicians pockets. Not paying attention to investigations into foreigners on American visas. Although fiction, much of what is written is believable. I am not a Muslim hater, and a lot of what Trump campaigned against I did not like, but our government needs to be more attuned to terrorists. We see what happened in Paris, and it happened on college campuses here already.
This is a well written and credible scenario that is born of some under-reported press accounts. It is timely and chillingly realistic. With a lead character Adam Drake, as likeable as a Brad Thor or Vince Flynn protagonist, the plot is complex, nefarious, and thought provoking. The action is appropriate, but never over the top, and the result is an intelligent thriller that will appeal to readers of all ages. (For those concerned about sex and profanity, you will not be offended.)
I enjoyed this book, as I have enjoyed the previous three books. I like the characters and I like the suspense. If you enjoy stories about terrorism, and weaponry, this book is for you. I dont particularly like that type of book, but the characters are so good and the suspense is riveting, so I can get past the details. I will look forward to book 5.
