Very good suspense and terrific second chance love story. Gabe is the tribal chief of police and dedicated to his job, to the point where it consumes his life. Five years earlier it had cost him his fiancee, when he arrested her father. She returned his ring and has barely spoken to him since. Now she and her family are in trouble, and Gabe is the only one she trusts to keep them safe.

Selena's father has just been released from being in prison for drug trafficking. During that time, Selena has been running the family trucking business and doing a great job of it. She soon discovers that her father is going right back down the same road, and this time he's dragging her with him. If she doesn't cooperate, the drug cartel will harm the rest of the family.

A run in with Gabe puts him on alert, as she is behaving strangely. The first drug run that she is forced into goes bad, with some intense danger and a couple of surprising twists. The more that Gabe learns about what is happening, the more determined he is to keep Selena safe.

The rekindling of their relationship was very interesting. It was obvious from the beginning that the attraction was still there, but their past history made them both wary. Gabe can't seem to get past the fact that Selena had returned his ring, without any real explanation, leaving him to believe that she couldn't forgive him for arresting her father. Selena is still hurt that he took the ring back, without any attempt to convince her to stay with him, fueling her own insecurities.

I got a little frustrated with both of them because they didn't talk to each other about their feelings, just assuming the other knew what they were. I also felt that Gabe could be a bit on the judgmental side. Gabe is so conscious of his reputation as police chief that it dictates all his actions. I loved his stunned surprise when Selena told him exactly how he had acted and how it made her feel. It was a real eye opener for him and not a pleasant one. It was great to see him looking at himself through her eyes. Selena has a few issues of her own, not the least is believing that everyone looks down on her because of her father. I really loved seeing the changes they went through as the book went on. I really liked the ending, with Gabe's big moment being sweet, romantic with a bit of humor added for good measure.

The suspense of the story was great. Everything moved along quickly, keeping me wondering what was going to happen next. After the twist in the beginning of the book, the focus was on tracking down the drug supplies and who was responsible. Things got really intense when a surprise player turned up and pulled Selena back into the middle of a dangerous situation. It was really interesting to see the interactions between the tribal law enforcement and the feds, especially Gabe's uncle's partner, Cassidy Walker. She did not make the best of impressions. I especially loved Gabe's thought that "The cavalry was coming, but just like always, it was the Apache scouts who would be there first". The final confrontation was chaotic with some very worrisome results, along with one thread left hanging. I expect that one will be tied up in the next book.

Family is an important theme in the book. Selena and how much she cares for her family is a big part of who she is. I also loved Gabe's relationship with his grandmother, who was pretty good at calling him out on his mistakes. Also included in this book is more information on the Cosen's missing little sister. She has been located, with them discovering that she was adopted by a white family. The identity of her adoptive mother is an interesting complication and I look forward to seeing how it all works out.

Yet another excellent installment in the Apache Protectors series. This time we get to read about Gabe, the tribal police chief. Gabe is so dedicated to his career that it consumes him. Five years earlier, it even cost him his fiancé when he also arrested her father. Talk about lots of drama! She returned his ring and never spoke to him again. Out of fear for her family's safety she knows she can trust him to keep them safe.

Selena's father has just been released from prison for being apart of a drug cartel. She worries that her father is going down that same exact road again and that her family is in even more danger.

Gabe vows to do everything he can to protect her, especially since he still loves her. In fact, he learns how to truly be romantic and love her. I'm telling you, the ending is just adorable!

It is a fun fast-paced, suspenseful story that keeps one on their toes. I was glued to the book until I finished..and honestly this might be the best one in the entire series. Things get really intense and dangerous really fast.

Family is a very important theme in this book. Selena and Gabe deeply cared about their relationships with their families. They're a close bunch. No matter what they get into, they still love each other. That's what family is for. I love Gabe's grandmother. She's adorable, but she's not afraid to point out his mistakes. In fact because of her, he realizes what really happened between Selena and him. Also, we learn that the Cosen's little sister has been found. I seriously cannot wait to read what happens with that in Native Born.

I strongly recommend this series!

Disclaimer: I received a copy of these books from Jenna Kernan for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

You don't have to read the entire series in order to read this story, but if you want backstory, I recommend that you read the first two first.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve picked up a book with an Indian plot and characters. I forgot how intrigued and curious I used to be to learn everything about the Indian way of life. This book brought back so many memories for me when I had first started reading years ago and used to devour Indian books.

I was always fascinated with Indian heroes and heroines. Their simple way of life, clothing, ceremonies and unique Indian names always use to fascinate me.

Gabe is the chief of the tribal police in Black Mountain. Five years ago he broke up with his fiancée Selena because her father was involved with the drug cartel and he couldn’t allow his reputation to be tarnished with that scandal.

Now Selena’s father has been released and placed on house arrest and trouble is starting again with the drug lords and posse. But this time it is Selena who is in danger and the only person who can save her is Gabe.

Gabe is just coming to realize that he gave up the most important person in his life five years ago over his job which is not giving him much satisfaction right now. But now he is too late to profess his love for her because her life is in danger and they might never get their happily ever after that they deserved after being apart for five excruciating and torturous years.

I wished that the author hadnt killed Matthew Dryer. I had wanted him to live and get his HEA but I know that’s how the job goes. That’s my only disappointment. Neverthless I will be picking up the other books in the series because I want to read about Gabe’s brothers love with their respective partners and hopefully their sister, Jovanna, get her story also.

Tribal law is an interesting story with Native American characters. Gabe Cosen has loved Selena Dosela for years. When Gabe had to arrest her father she gave him back his ring. She did not want people to think that he was associated with criminals. Gabe was hurt thst she gave his ring back and thought she was angry that he had arrested her father. when her father is released on patrol she unwillingly helps him to break the law to keep her family from being harmed. Gabe is now tribal police chief and fights to keep her family out of trouble. When she is kidnapped Gabe drops everything including his job to rescue her.

Tribal Law book 3 in the Apache Protectors series. The devastatingly handsome & capable in all ways Cosen brothers definitely keep you coming back for more. This story is centered around Gabe Cosen, as Chief of police on their reservation he has always put his reputation & career ahead of every thing else. Since his past includes a drug running father & a brother that had a criminal record, he always did what would keep him looking the best in everyone's eyes. Even when it meant losing his one true love, Selena. Selena is in trouble deep but can't ask for help for fear of her family's safety. Her father is messed up in some trouble with the cartel & now has brought Selena into it. When their path crosses with her only true love, Gabe Cosen it's sparks all over again. For the love that's still there & then also for the underlying vibe there's something about to happen that's not quite good. Can Selena put her trust in Gabe to help, in the one man that can make her life whole or rip it apart? Read to find out.
Jenna Kernan has done it again. I was pulled in from the very first page. She writes with such detail and specifics of the Indian ways. I am truly grateful for finding this romantic suspense writer that keeps you on the edge of your seat!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is book #3 in the Apache Protectors series.

Cast of characters
Gabe Cosen-Chief of police of the Black Mountain Apache Tribe.

Selena Dosela-Selena broke her engagement to Gabe five years ago when he arrested her father for drug trafficking. She has been running the family freight business.

Frasco Dosela-Selena's father is now out of prison but is he on the up and up now?

Ronnie Hare-Frasco's parole officer is Salt River Apache and free to come and go on the reservation for business. Is he on the up and up though?

Matt Dryer-Works for the Department of Corrections and oversees Frasco's case. He needs an escort on the reservation since he is an outsider.

Randall Juris-Detective for the tribal police and Gabe's second in command.

Manny Escalanti-This gang leader who is working with the Mexican cartel.

Cassidy Walker-FBI field agent who is an outsider. Like a lot of the characters in this book she has her own secrets.

This book is fast packed and full of action and suspense. There is the on going question with character of is he/she on the up and up. Is he/she the good guy or the bad guy? I won't leave any spoilers here but there are surprises to that question. I loved it.

Contemporary Romantic Suspense

Black Mountain Apache Reservation

Gabe Cosen is a tribal police chief that would do anything to protect both his people and their reservation. It is this dedication to the law that cost him his fiancée. When he sent Selena Dosela’s father to prison she never forgave him. Gabe has vowed to keep her safe with trouble back on her doorstep.

The only thing that would allow Selena to accept Gabe’s help is extreme fear for her family. Selena knows she can trust him with the lives of those she loves despite all they have been through. Gabe as a lawman would never break his word. He might break her heart again if she isn’t careful though.

This is proving to be an amazing series that keeps the twists and turns coming in the overall story arc between the books. It will also have readers eagerly reaching for the last book in the series to see how it all ends. The characters are wonderfully written and really come to life for the reader with each word read. While each book can be read as a standalone readers will get a much richer story experience by reading them in order. This is definitely a series for the keeper shelf.

4 1/2 STARS!

These Cosen brother's just keep finding themselves knee deep in trouble as they try to keep peace on the reservation for their people. This time it's Gabe's turn to shine in the excitement as try to figure who is up to no good, and we also see them getting closer to finding their missing sister in this 3rd book in the Apache Protectors series.

Gabe Cosen believes in adhering to the law and serving his tribe as the tribal Police Chief. He's not one to bend the rules, which is why he's no longer engaged. His ex, Selena Dosela is never going to forgive him for arresting her father several years ago.

Selena works hard to take care of her family and the family business. She's not one to turn her back on them, or on the trouble they may bring home. When they are all in danger, she has no other option than to accept help from Gabe. Will being in close contacts again bring up those old feelings?

I 've read books one and two of the Apache Protector series, so I was pretty excited for book three, Tribal Law to come out. I got my hands on it, and devoured it! This book features Gabe, another handsome Cosen brother. I loved the fast-paced, suspenseful journey I took as I read this book. One of the things I like best about this series is, I feel like I'm right there on the reservation with them. The descriptions are amazing and it gives me a glimpse into their proud traditions. I also really liked Selena. She is pulled into helping a drug ring, all to protect her family including her Father, who Gabe arrested before. The plot kept me guessing, and worrying for Selena! This is a great book! Now I have to try and be patient until Book four comes out

***I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review***I love Jenna Kernan's Apache Protectors series. Tribal Law is basically a 2nd Chance romance (which I love). The Hero Gabe is put in a difficult position where he has to choose between the law and his fiance, Selena. Doing the right think costs him his relationship, but he cannot forget her. She cannot forgive him sending her father to prison, but when she (and her family) is in trouble, Gabe will not let her down. Throw in some drug smuggling, some crooked law enforcement, and a whole lot of intrigue and this book was hard to put down! Read the whole series!

I love this book in the Apache Protectors series. It’s fast-paced and beautifully edited. Within the action, there were pauses that reveal the realities of tribal life and the complexity of Selena and Gabe’s relationship. I enjoy the multi-generational characters, like Gabe’s grandmother and Selena’s father, mother and sister, Mia. Their broken families are loyal to each other, even if it means taking risks.

Selena’s father redeems himself in the end and paves the way for Gabe to approach Selena, as a man rather than a Chief of Tribal Police. Selena and Gabe’s longing for each other is acute which makes their eventual reunion a very satisfying happily ever after.

I won a copy of this book in a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ giveaway.
I actually enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I had expected this to be the standard routine romance with a little bit of intrigue thrown in. It actually turned out to be the opposite. It had an interesting, well-paced plot that had me hooked right from the beginning. The characters were well drawn, varied and realistic. The romance itself was rather bland but the story was enough to keep me engaged.
I would classify this as a fun read.

Could not put this book down once I started reading. Get ready for another heart stopping adventure.
Jenna has a way of writing that takes the reader to the reservation. You can hear the snow crunch under your feet, feel the chill in the air, and feel the passion between Gabe and Selena. Will they work things out or part ways forever? And still leave you wondering will they get Jovanna back in time for her sunrise ceremony.

Good book but...

I like the story, it's very interesting and fast paced. However I was less then thrilled with the romance between Gabe and Selena. Towards the end I was very frustrated with their communication skills. I feel like she was at the very, very least a little responsible for their break up... Really all the blame is put on him and I disagree... Very frustrating... But otherwise good book if that doesn't bother you.

A very good book about a young woman who seems to find herself in trouble a lot, due to circumstances beyond her control. Her ex boyfriend just happens to be the chief of police for the tribe and can't seem to stop running into her. Of course the old feelings spark up, but is that a good enough reason to try being in a relationship again? I couldn't help to wish for a good outcome. A quick, good book to read! I really liked it.

I received this book for free through Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ in a giveaway. Althouh I'm not typically into the suspenseful books, this one was fantastic. It left me on the edge of my seat. You got a lot of the suspense in the book as well as the love story of Selena and Gabe. It shows how people can put other things as priorities in life, when it should be family and the people you love. A+
