'...every page shows evidence of great mastery of the subject.' Trans. Faraday Society

'this book is destined to play a major part in the future education of theoretical physicists.' Proceedings of the Physical Society

This edition has been completely revised to include some 20% of new material. Important recent developments such as the theory of Regge poles are now included. Many problems with solutions have been added to those already contained in the book.

This is a unique book in the area of quantum mechanics, but I would not recommend it as a first textbook on QM. It reads more like an anthology of high-level research in the area up to the 1970s (although there are still some great explanations in there which make it useful as a reference).

The background knowledge assumed is fairly punishing: I would not recommend it if you have not taken at least a year's worth of courses on graduate-level physics and applied mathematics. In particular, there is a section in the middle of the book where the theory of symmetry groups is applied to energy levels for configurations of polyatomic molecules. I have myself done a course on molecular physics and have also self-studied symmetry groups (making a particular study of the tetrahedron group) so I was personally able to follow along, but this section felt like it could be a bit too much for some students.

Could be more clear about some theorems and hypothesis that have not been proven in the lab yet. Still a good read.

non-relativistic quantum physics for nobel prize-winners and soviet geniuses. this is a tough book, because they assume you are as smart as landau, which you are not. that assumption allows them to cram TONS of material into this volume though. if you can't find it anywhere else, look here. (if you can find it anywhere else, look there.)
