Holliday writes in a winning, easy-to-read style, like you're talking with a good friend. Although her tone is kind & encouraging, she hits the nail on the head with truth that addresses your heart. Holliday uses the Bible to bring light to this difficult subject, shining God's truth into our hearts where only God's word truly has the power to change. This book is a chronicle of Holliday's weight-loss journey, filled with helpful, practical suggestions for a balanced approach to weight loss as well as the motivation you need to loose weight for the right reasons - therefore it's weight loss that will last. She sprinkles her humorous cartoons throughout the book (Holliday is a professional cartoonist/animator) to add to the encouragement.

This book is amazing!!! It’s so so deep, I can’t even begin to emphasize that fact. It’s theologically solid to the core while also being deeply encouraging and empathetic. I’m normally a super fast reader, but this has me seriously slowing down and rereading over and over. There’s just that much wisdom and truth to be had here. I love how Carole gets to the root issues of our weight problems.. greed, gluttony, and not believing God is truly who he says He is. Highly recommend!!

The irony of this books is not only is it not about the food, the principles introduced in this book are a great biblical frame for tackling ANY pet sin. I highly recommend every Christian sister (and brother too) to get this book on their book list. I think many of us would be surprised what pet sins we have masquerading around our lives as acceptable habits.
