" The root of a society, a vast common consciousness shared by people, impossible to control. .
Vale. Este tomo ha empezado muy flojo pero ha sido llegar a los capitulos finales y dejarte en ascuas. Yo quería dosificarme las lecturas de este manga pero con capítulos con el que me dejan es un poco imposible.
After the horrible experience having to do a presentation in front of two classes at uni this morning, I decided to take a break from ARCs to reward myself by continuing to read one of my favorite manga series.
Since it's been a few months since I read volume 6, I had momentarily forgotten how pretty the art style is. I love this series ??
Anyways, we're almost at the point where the anime left off, so I'm really curious to know what happens next.
Wow! The way this one ended! I had to immediately pick up volume 8. I am totally addicted to this series. I am trying to pace myself, but I have no self-control. I am loving this series so much!
F Squad still doesn't trust Ishimaru; they know someone is betraying them.
F Squad raids the CCC's hideout for a list of members. But the CCC seems to be a few steps ahead.
This volume could be a bit slow at times. But it did pick up, especially the ending. Lots of drama and action. It can be a bit hard to follow at times because there are so many characters to keep track of. Not a bad volume.
Edit: a reread has brought clarity to the plot and names.
For lack of better description, this seemed to be a filler volume with very little information. I'm still not 100% on what Kikuhara's goal is, and I constantly struggle with all the Japanese names. This volume also had very little Anzai/Taira as well and ends with a rather frustrating cliffhanger. I don't want to wait a couple months for the next volume.
WOW! Well, there's a LOT to say about this one, pretty much all good things too. So much so that I feel like I should leave a lot out, because it's just not the same unless you experience it for yourself. So many twisty turns and winds and bends and thank god I'm reading this all so close together (I think I started this series like a month ago? 5 or 6 weeks ago?). If I wasn't reading it all so close together, I'm unsure if I'd be able to take it all in as I'm meant to. Honestly, for the first time in seven volumes, I was way more taken in by the story than I was by the romance elements. All of this goes far deeper than imagined, but I guess Kikuhara knew, so he's flushing out EVERY member but Queen, it seems. Though it really isn't fair that Makimura died... I liked him off and on and really liked him at the end. And now I'm glad that I was coming to like the new captain, as it seems he's not actually bad. He's undercover twice over, it seems. Same with Makimura... It just seems the captain was better at it or more valuable. He is damn strong, so... I understand. They're both so righteous, but it seems the captain is more ready to kill. Now I understand why he never showed any hate for devils either, despite working for the CCC. I always wondered about that. We finally solved the mystery to the two dead bar ladies too... They weren't mercilessly killed. Makimura was trying to save them but they ended up dying instead, and he feels both their blood is on his hands. He was going to turn himself AND Kikuhara in. It's too bad Kikuhara is always so prepared. OH, yeah, one thing that didn't translate so well in English, I think. When that one officer figured out what was written on the table, I think looking at the kanji on his phone helped him. Can't really translate that into English though... It just looks a little odd. But yeah, the smallest indicators can really help the brain piece everything together. Of course, the main thing was that it was freshly written and didn't match anyone's handwriting that they knew of. Makimura is fucking clever though, goddamn. Why couldn't he just join F squad instead of dying?! Unf. Well! On to the next volume. P.S. The dynamics between Ishimaru (the captain. I finally remembered his name) and Anzai are something I really like. I think they've made friends in each other, to some small degree, at least. Though, Ishimaru is right, the type of bonds they've fostered in F squad does make them all complacent and soft and squishy. Though, I don't think he will be able to stop himself from falling into it. I'm greatly looking forward to that. I hope he doesn't end up dead. I honestly thought that Sawazaki or Yousuke were going to end up dead in this volume, so thank god Anzai did what he did. As for Yousuke, well, it feels like he's about to get himself killed in just about every volume, to be honest... Also, was Eleven always so ugly...? I thought that in the first two volumes, they made her out to be tall and gorgeous with a mean streak. But she just slowly devolved into a drooling round moon cake. What in the world happened with that character? It's like the mangaka suddenly decided to change half of her aspects. Oh well, she was minor and unimportant anyway...is what I'm sure everyone including myself and the mangaka will say. Ooh, right, and I thought that I would dislike Nanako's new hair do, but actually it really suits her just as much as the last hair style. She looks so good! More grown up too. What a pretty lady~. I hope she falls in love with 9s and forgets about Kikuhara. He may have saved her once (twice if you count from himself), but he's bad for her now, and has tried killing her about as many times as he's saved her now. You can do it, Nanako. It is really terrible though... When she was 7, she had to kill someone she loved. And now as a young adult, she has to do the exact same thing all over again. I don't think she'll be able to face Kikuhara until she has put her past behind her. And thank god Anzai is saved. But will Hans Lee be okay?
Devils' Line, Vol. 7 is an emotional gut punch in the best way. The series has been building up the tension between devils and humans, and this volume really brings that conflict to a boiling point. The stakes are so high now, and the political drama mixed with the raw, personal struggles of the characters makes every moment feel huge. Anzai’s journey continues to be incredibly compelling—his growth, his fears, his fight for control—it’s all so well done. And Tsukasa? She remains the heart of the story, proving once again that she’s so much more than just a love interest.
The action and suspense are next-level, but what really makes this volume shine is the emotional depth. The relationships, the betrayals, the difficult choices—every panel hits. And as always, the artwork perfectly captures the intensity, making the emotions feel so real. This series is truly in its prime, and Vol. 7 is just another reminder of why Devils' Line is one of the best supernatural thrillers out there. Five stars—absolutely obsessed with where this story is going!
This one is another one filled with Machiavellian plotting. Anzai, Lee and F Squad, along with the still suspicious Ishimaru, are trying to locate and protect/interrogate list members. This leads them into a clever trap that is designed to be potentially deadly and make the devils look bad at the same time.
The F squad members still can't fully trust Ishimaru. They know someone in the group is betraying them. It's possible someone could be a double agent and they all could be killed.
The story telling is very good if convoluted. I'm enjoying this one.
Yeah with the conclusion of this volume there is no way to pace. It is amazing this ending and the art involved are just stunning, Can feel the emotion through the art and words used to see the love between the protagonists. As the police force invaded the CCC hideout we see snipers on the roof, interplay between Zero 2, and the ties he has to Anzai. (as promised at the end more to some of the said relationships in the next volume so how on earth can you pace?) It is all and all a book that is worthy of the five stars I am giving it.
Still puzzling over new information, Anzai and the rest of F Squad carry out their planned raid of the CCC's hideout. Soon, the group finds the CCC is still a few steps ahead of them. The tables keep turning on who is trustworthy. Anzai takes a risk, one that leaves him in middle of the chaos, leaving Tsukasa to make a risky decision for both of them. We are still in the build-up but we can definitely see consequences for many of our characters trickling in as we continue forward into unknown territory.
It’s almost like I predicted it or something haha. God I’m so glad he was a spy for the police for the ccc but pretended to be spying on the police for the ccc. I just love him to much for him to be a bad guy. But the fact that Makimura was also secretly playing in both fields too I never saw coming or even considered. I just assumed outright he was in the ccc. So much was revealed and still I can’t wait to read the next installment. This one was just so nice and action packed I loved it.

Revisiting the manga after 5ish(?) years. Every thing about it is right up my alley. Supernatural-esque, “bad boy”/“dark” type male character, a bit of romance, a bit of violence.
This volume brought quite a few twists to the storyline, it feels like it’s starting to pick up again in the action/pace.
There are a lot of twists in this volume and all I can hope for is that Taira will be alright, that Hans Lee will be alright, that all the other characters I care about will be alright... please stop hurting the characters.
This series had me hook, line and suckered from the first book in the series. It took me a minute to realize which characters were which just because some of the art styles of the male characters were so similar, but as you read it gets much easier! Highly recommend.
