Cherron Riser
29Ìýbooks34ÌýfollowersCherron Riser was born in Dothan, Alabama on November 2, 1983. With her family being military, she spent a lot of her early childhood traveling all over the country, giving her a lot of new and different experiences she would not otherwise have been given. When she turned ten, however, her family settled in the small town of Ozark, Alabama where she finished her high school career.
After high school, Cherron began college, however she also found herself in love with her old high school crush. The two of them were married in July of 2002, and welcomed their first child in October of 2003, after moving to Knoxville, Tennessee. In December 2008 the welcomed their second child and found themselves headed back to Alabama. They have now been married for over thirteen years, and Cherron has returned to school to finish what she had started all those years ago.
All through her life Cherron has been drawn to the arts. As a child she danced and sang all of the time, often driving her family crazy. During middle school, a group of friends and Cherron started "The Outcast" a club established for building a love of writing. Once the club was formed, Cherron was never seen without a spiral notebook and pen. She wrote daily, developing silly stories for her friends. After high school, Cherron began to write more serious stories and develop more original plot lines. It is a talent and love Cherron has developed over the years, filling her computer with story after story.
As an author, Cherron began her career as a self published author, releasing the book Defying Destiny in March of 2015. She gives a lot of credit to her husband, children, and friends for inspiring her characters and worlds and looks forward to showing them to all of her readers in the near future. Cherron can often be seen at conventions, both for readers and for geeks, as she is and will always be a geek herself, and proud of it.

Shifting with a difference
Cherron writes an intriguing story about shifters who are hunted by SLICE. But these aren't all your normal shifters. SLICE are ruthless in how they capture them.
This is a fantastic start to what promises to be an intriguing series

Really good reading.
I was so impressed when I read this book. The storyline itself is straightforward; there are shape shifters living among us. They have the ability to change into animals and some have other abilities. A human group, known as SLICE, is aware of shape shifters and hunts them down all over the country, killing any they can't capture, to experiment on. It is unclear if they are affiliated with the government of the United States or if it is a private company funding their activities. Somehow agents of SLICE always find them.
Jericho and Jax are twin shifters who escape when SLICE comes to get their family. Their parents are taken and the boys are forced to go on the run. They will have to learn quickly how to live among humans. Jericho turns to prostitution to make money to take care of them. Jax is more in tune with his animal side and has a harder time coping with humans. After they make the mistake of staying to long in one place they are almost caught and Jax accidentally kills Jericho's girlfriend.
Marris and his little sister are at home when SLICE agents attack and his sister, who is seven, is shot and then killed in front of him. When he sees his sister's throat cut Marris swears to kill them all. His magic is different. He doesn't shift himself but objects around him. He escapes from the facility he is caged in quickly. He hears rumors that shifters are trying to organize. He makes contact with the the shifter underground and volunteers to help others reach safety. He also is able to break into the enemy facilities to learn about them.
After Jax meets his mate Jericho is captured. A famous female resistance leader breaks him out and they discover they are mates.
This is a welcome addition to the shape shifter genre.

Very cool
This was a very original story. It has great characters that you really feel like you know. There is a lot of adventure and suspense and a little bit of romance. Gotta get the next one.

interesting book. usually don't read much on shifters. this was enjoyable.

This book is very well written, and enticing. The editing is excellent, and there were no errors. The characters are very well developed. I can't wait to read more books by Cherron!
