4 - "Then... I met you." Stars!
Raegan and Ford warmed up my Kindle from the beginning to the end of their story, in book twelve of Katie Reus� hugely enjoyable Red Stone Security Series.
Both have been attracted to the other from afar since Raegan came to town to work at Red Stone but Ford, being older didn’t think she would be interested in him in that way. However, after saving her from almost being taken from a club after having her drink spiked while out with her friends, it becomes obvious very quickly that she is as attracted to him, as he is to her.
She bought out all his protective, possessive instincts� He was the one taking care of her, he would keep her safe.
Once again the author kept the suspense aspect of the story moving alongside the sexy-times between them at a steady pace, and I really liked Raegan and Ford together as a couple, this was a book I pretty much read in one sitting I enjoyed it so much.

I've really enjoyed this series, this book not so much. There seemed to be a lot of book space wasted on inner monologue and not enough on detail. There was an epic reason why Ford didn't trust women, and this was sort of mentioned and glossed over and that was it done. A total missed opportunity because ....um hellooooo?!?!
So yeah, I was a bit on the disappointed side with Secret Obsession.

I was interested in reading this but it turns out I just read this like a week or two ago, lol. I honestly don't remember anything but I'm pretty sure it was safe with a stand up H.

3.5 stars. ARC Review
By book 12 in a series, I am sure it cannot be easy to come up with super innovative plot points, but this is when good writing comes in. Katie Reus is a great romantic suspense writer. I really enjoy this dual format feature the story of two couples. I think she excels at giving us the two-fers. One is more a "getting together" story and the other drives the suspense. I can't say that I think this story is super special, but I really like it. I have my own secret obsession with cops and this one is right up my alley. I like our primary hero, Ford. Yes, he's alpha, but he is also sweet and vulnerable. He is the perfect kind of hero for this kind of romantic suspense.

Secret Obsession is the twelfth book in the Red Stone Security series and it offers not one but two parallel romances. The main focus, though, are Raegan Taylor, Harrison, Grant and Porter’s cousin and sexy cop, Ford Burke.
Ford cannot believe that the one woman whom he desires is the Caldwell’s cousin. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s a decade younger than him and the fact that he can’t seem to control himself around her, makes Ford believe that Raegan is a dream that he is never going to enjoy.
Raegan may be the Caldwell’s cousin but she won’t let them control her life. Working at RSS with Athena is something she didn’t expect to be doing but she has come to love her job. She likes everyone at RSS and her job offers her more than she would ever need. But something is missing and she knows exactly what, Ford. Even though the sexy cop won’t admit his feelings, his actions say a lot. So, when Ford saves her from a night gone wrong, Raegan knows it’s a now or never opportunity.
Secret obsession was amazing! I really liked Ford and Reagan as a couple. I loved the fact that we got to see and hear from couples from the previous books in the series and I especially loved the scenes with Mara and Harrison (they still remain my fav couple). We also get to meet Raegan’s friends, Ruby and Dominique. This book has two romances and the other, while parallel, is a bit short-ish but still really great! We got to see Ruby and Montez get together and how their relationship developed and everything and it was so cute!
As for Dominique, worry not. Katie recently announced that she’s getting her own story with a character we briefly meet here. Her book, Love Thy Enemy, will be out early June, so make sure to read this one before the next one comes out!

Two cute romances plus a stalker�
This is the twelfth book in the Red Stone Security series that can be read as a stand-alone.
Ford Burke is a cop with friends at Redstone Security where he met the young cousin, a woman he’s wanted but doesn’t believe he’s good enough for and she’s perhaps a decade younger. He’s watched her for a year at events too tongue-tied around her to speak much to her. When he happens to see her being abducted from a nightclub that he’s surveilling he jumps into action and saves her life. Almost losing her has his protective instincts on high and gives him the chance to spend time with her.
Being the young cousin around a group of overprotective male family members hasn’t been easy yet Raegan Taylor makes the most of it and stands up for herself often, she’s quite forward and direct. She loves her job at Redstone and the sexy cop who comes around has had her attention though he’s never made a move. Out one night at a club with friends she’s unknowingly drugged and almost abducted. If not for the sexy cop who’s barely spoken to her over the past year she wouldn’t have made it home safely. She has no clue why someone would be after her but loves the cop’s attention.
This was a good solid story with not one but two cute romances interwoven with the suspense of a stalker that many I’m sure will like, this is not the first time a stalker has been after one of the women connected to Redstone. Ford is an interesting hero with issues that could lose him what builds between him and Raegan. Can he come to terms with his past before he loses her? The heroine is young and acts it too much so this reader did not connect well with her, she was found to be immature and foolhardy at times. There are multiple points of view including that of the villain.

"Secret Obsession" is the twelfth book of the Red Stone Security series.
Raegan is being stalked by a freak but she doesn't know she's being stalked. She is drugged in a club and hauled out of the bar by the stalker but Ford, a cop, happened to be at the same place at the same time and stopped the abduction.
Ford and Raegan have known each other for a year but they were holding back their feelings and trying to be coy. Needless to say, things get explosive between them and the love affair is on.
Meanwhile, Ruby and Montez are finally getting it together. In comparing the two stories, they're both really good but I preferred Ruby and Montez. The reason is because Ruby is "Marilyn Monroe" gorgeous and Montez is scarred from an incident in the war. Ruby has been played by more than her fair share of guys where Montez has been the victim of "pity sex". He's the ugly guy no woman wants. She's the beautiful girl every guy wants. But they wanted each other and didn't really know how to go about the pursuit.
The two stories are different although the characters are friends and know each other or know mutual friends who are either friends or family. Both are well-written with strong characters who were easy to care about, fast-paced action, and strong plots.
I like this series a lot. The best part of it is, as with any good series, the books can be read as stand-alone novels. It's pretty cool to see some of the characters from other books make appearances but you won't be lost if you've not read previous books.

I actually preferred Ruby and Montez’s story over Ford and Raegan’s. The brief glimpses of their relationship in this book were really sweet and cute.
I didn’t mind Ford or Raegan. Again, neither character really stood out to me, but their relationship had decent development and chemistry.
The suspense was alright. I’m glad that it wasn’t too cliche for a stalker type of suspense. It also wasn’t too easy to guess, but the antagonist (Teo) was definitely present throughout the book.
I also liked the brief glimpses of the other characters throughout the series.

I Love In Spite Of Yourself!!!
Raegan Taylor was Harrison, Grant and Porter's cousin, who worked at Red Stone Security with Athena in the new marketing/PR division. After what happened to her in Vegas in the previous book ( SWORN TO PROTECT ), they wished they could keep her in their sights all the time. She loved them even though they were overprotective.
Raegan dated guys but she wasn't into them, there was only one man she wanted and that was, Ford Burke. Since the moment she moved to Miami, the sexy as sin cop caught her attention. But Ford kept her at arm's length, much to her chagrin.
Ford Burke one of Miami's finest couldn't seem to stop thinking about a certain, sexy, gorgeous woman, by the name of Raegan Taylor. He wanted her as much as she wanted him but whenever she was close to him. Ford didn't know how to act around Raegan.
He wished she was anybody else besides the Cardwells' cousin and that she wasn't so darn irresistible. He didn't like the idea of another man being with her despite arguing with himself about the reasons why he couldn't be with her. When she found herself in danger, Ford's protective instincts took over.
As they grew closer, Ford's past threatened what they were trying to build. He had to find a way to let go of the past and move on. Added to that, there was a maniac, someone Raegan never expected who had been stalking her.
Ford and the Caldwells did whatever they had to do in order to protect Raegan. Ford put his life on the line to make sure that, Raegan would be safe.
As the parallel couple in this book Montez and Ruby were adorable, so happy that they both found each other. I enjoyed the little angst they had. Ruby wouldn't let Montez off the hook so easily, but in the end she understood where he was coming from. They complemented each other.
It felt like coming home from being overseas for a long time, catching up with the Caldwells, their wives, their friends and they extended family was a delightful treat. Love will always win.
SECRET OBSESSION was engrossing, another first-rate novel by Katie Reus. She had me from the dedication to her better half until the end. Five stars, two thumbs up and a heck yeah to grab yourselves a copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to Katie's thrilling Red Stone Security series. We get not one, but two couples stories. Ford Burke is a cop in Miami who happens to be good friends with Raegan's cousins. They are both drawn to each other but Ford has some serious trust issues and being that Raegan is about 10 years younger than him he doesn't act on his attraction. I loved Ford! He was delightfully tongue tied and almost shy around Raegan. You don't see that much in alphas and it made me fall in love with him even more. Raegan mistakes this as him not being interested in her but it is the total opposite. Now don't get me wrong, in no way does this detract from his badassness.
When Raegan is almost kidnapped from a club that Ford is doing surveillance on he sweeps in to rescue her. From that moment on his protective instincts are out in full force and he is unable to deny his feelings for her anymore. Love, love, love the protective and very naughty badboy heroes in Katie's books!!
There is a secondary romance involving Montez and Ruby that balanced the book perfectly. While Ford and Raegan's story was passion and intensity, Montez and Ruby's was sweet and heartwarming. Another great book by one of my favorite authors.
I love Ms. Reus’s Red Stone Security books, and this 12th one is no different than the rest: a wonderful love story, an awesome family and a bad guy.
I really liked Ford and Raegan, and I especially like the fact that the story is short enough that there’s no room for page after page of angst (213 pages). There was a misunderstanding but it only lasted for 3 days, long enough for Ford to pull his head out of his ass.
And it was nice that there was another love story, too. Between Montez and Ruby, and some hot sex between them as well.
It was also unusual the way the bad guy got caught. Again, we had another creepy stalker who got all that he deserved.
It’s always great to visit with the family, Harrison, Mara, Uncle Keith, Lizzy, Porter, Belle, Athena, Julieta, Ivan and Detective Duarte, and all those I’ve forgotten. The men in this family are so protective of their women it’s not even funny. Protective of all women, really.
There was some sexual tension and the usual hot and steamy sex. As well as the usual bad words and the F-bomb dropped 48 times. I happen to like the sex and the bad words but for those of you who don’t you can’t say you haven’t been warned.
As to the narrator: What can I say? I love Sophie Eastlake’s narration. Yeah, all her male voices are alike but they’re nice manly and sexy voices and that's more than you get from a lot of female narrators.

SECRET OBSESSION was a quick, enjoyable read as we venture into some newer characters in the Red Stone universe. I really liked Raegan who seemed to have her life pretty well figured out. She's confident, intelligent, and knows her worth. She's crushed on Ford for a while but she's also not pining for him or willing to accept anything less than his everything. Ford is also a great hero but he makes some rookie mistakes stemming from trust issues he's trying to work through, but it doesn't take long for Ford to realize his mistake and try to fix things. Ford is definitely a protector and he'll do anything to keep Raegan safe.
As an added bonus, we also get to see side characters Ruby and Montez fall in love. We first met them in UNDER HIS PROTECTION, Ruby is Julieta's assistant and Montez is Julieta's brother. Raegan was just too naïve / stupid for me to connect to. She got better over the course of the book. But I just could not understand why a 32 year old man would be interested in this country bumpkin who acted like the girl in Clueless.
After getting past the beginning as she seemed to evolve, and I appreciated that she was so willing to let Ford be Ford. Because Ford was damaged and he acted like a jerk. But I actually appreciated how she responded to his apology. Because while I might be vindictive, I am also forgiving when I think the issue was legit and the apology was sincere. Even if it was a bit late in coming. She could have made him work a little harder, but I did not feel it was required.
This stalker storyline was ok and I liked that we got his POV occasionally.
Cannot believe I forgot to mention the dual storyline! We finally got Ruby and Montez! Who I liked more, of course. The problem was I thought the dual storyline was way too much switching around for such a short book. It was a little confusing, especially on audio.

OK, I've been obsessed with the Red Stone Security series since book one, so it's no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed this latest installment. I must say however, that it wasn't the story line or the hunky, gorgeous guy ( of course, they helped) this time. It was all about Raegan! The way Katie Reus wrote this character, gave me LIFE! Raeagan is frickin hilarious and takes no crap from anyone. I laughed so much throughout this book, that I had a stomach ache when I was done reading. The secondary storyline with Ruby and Montez was sweet and gave a small break to the intensity of Raegan and Ford's story. Very good read!

This book is another amazing hit, in this awesome series. This book is more like a 2 for one deal. Yes we get to see Regan and Fords story, and yes it is so awesome. She has a stalker, Ford is there to be a bodyguard and lets just say, there is ton of romance and suspense between them two...

3.5 Stars. As always I enjoy the Red Stone Security Books. This could easily be read as a stand alone book. I enjoyed Raegan and Ford both very much. I thought they had great chemistry together and I love a cop as the hero of a RS book. The only thing I could have asked for more of in this book was a better understanding of the villain. He was a "cardboard" stalker and I wanted to understand his motivation a bit more. Nothing really new about this book but the writing is good and I will continue to read this series.

H has been celibate since he's met Raegan. Raegan has gone on some dates and kissed at least one guy since she's met H. If the timelines add up with the previous book.
I really enjoyed how Raegan was naive but had a strong personality. Glad she wasn't a virgin just because she grew up on a farm. Suspenseful, but you know who the bad guy is. Ford didn't think he was good enough and was wary for a relationship after his ex cheated on him with his brother. He made some assumptions, but apologized for them and didn't hook up with anyone during their 3 day separation.

Awesome read! I am an avid fan of the Red Stone Security series and this story of Ford and Raegan delivered the action, suspense and hot loving as always!! Ford has had it bad for Raegan for a year and Raegan too has been crushing on Ford real hard! A stalker who needs to capture Raegan tips the protective instinct of Ford and her cousins and gives them the opportunity to express their bottled up feelings. Loved it

Another very enjoyable installment in this series, loved both Reagan and Ford. The story itself drew me in and kept me hooked until the very end, and I would recommend it to others. Even if you've not read the series before, as this story can easily be read as a standalone. (As honestly I've read all previous stories, and couldn't remember half of the characters who appear throughout this book and it didn't in any way diminish or distract me from my enjoyment of this story.)

This 12th book's story line was okay. I liked the hot & steamy scenes. I liked Reagan's character. I felt sorry for Reagan. I liked Ford's character too. I for Ford. I liked how Ford protected Reagan. I liked Ruby & Montez characters. I felt sorry for Montez. I liked the ending. This story felt like I was reading 2 stories instead of 1.

Excellent as usual! Love how K. R. can fit so much action into such little space. I almost enjoyed the side story of Ruby and Montez as much as Raegan and Ford's story. Can't wait to read the next one!!

Once again, Ms Reus gives us a sexy, fast paced, suspense romance that will keep you entertained from the moment you start the story.
Add to that the fact that not only does she gives us two well developed and complex main characters in Raegen Taylor and Ford Burke, but she also engages us in the story of Ruby, and Montes.
If you are familiar with the series, Raegan is Harrison’s and Grant cousin who also works at Red Stone Security, and whom we met in a previous audiobook. Ford is Grant’s ex-partner at the Miami PD as well as his very good friend. A man that has had his eye on Raegan but thinks she is too young for him , plus she is Grant’s cousin. While Raegan, has had a crush on Ford but believes he doesn’t even know she exists. When she is put in danger, he rescues her and becomes very protective of Raegan. While going all male alpha on her as a protector, they both start falling for each other. But not only is Raegan still in danger, Ford has trust issues which puts a damper in their relationship.
Suffice is to say, there is never a dull moment throughout the story.
Another well written story by this talented author.
Once again the narrator, Sophie Eastlake, does an excellent job in her delivery.

Ok soooo Raegan works for her cousins at red stone security and is as sweet as can be but has a super crush on a cop who she thinks doesn't have a clue....(of course she's wrong). Now Ford on the other hand is a very serious cop. He also harbored feelings for Raegan as well... how anyone can hold those secret desires for such a longtime without telling the other is mind boggling. But when a psycho attempts to kidnap her, thank goodness for Fords instincts and timing.... on a multiple level Ford is there for her. Exceptional......

Raegan and Ford. The story behind their names is precious. The backstory of stalker and his family dynamic was surprising and kept me captivated with the story. Great blend of the security and police force. This story also had two side stories with Dominique and a Russian?!?! And then Ruby and Montez!! I loved seeing that dynamic and their relationship grow. A fun and quick read!

Good story
The stalker angle was a really good addition to this story. It was good he got caught and will pay for his crimes. But it is outstanding that the girl got her man and will keep him.
