Hooked on Trouble

Rate this book

Reality bites. Hard.

The last time Raven did “real was sixteen months ago, when she spent one unforgettable night with the tattooed, impossibly sexy Nico, and then he disappeared the next day. Since then, she’s kept her guard up and her feelings to herself. She doesn’t have time for relationship drama when she’s busy searching for her long lost sister.

Nico hasn’t stopped thinking about Raven—her sultry curves, inked skin, and the fact that he ditched her after their night together. Now that they’re living in the same city, he knows this is his chance to make things right. What better way to prove to Raven he’s for real than helping her find her sister? But when the lines between right and wrong start to blur, putting his job on the line, Nico has to decide if the risk is worth the ultimate reward.

You know how everyone these days seems to want that bad boy with an attitude, the alpha male with a quick tongue and even bigger muscles, the star athlete or rockstar? I love how Kelly writes real characters with real issues. I don't know about you, but I can't say I often come across a bad boy who needs to be reformed or a rockstar who's home on tour. But you know what is a possibility? Stumbling upon a cop with the biggest heart imaginable. I love how real it all felt.

So, long story short, Nico is kind of everyone I want. Sure, he's tall, sure, he has muscles, sure, he has piercing blue eyes, but you know what else? He would do or give anything possible for the people he loves. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and he always goes above and beyond. I'm not even just talking about Raven, but with his family, or Kolton and Sawyer. Even the kids that he helps out at the rec centre where he volunteers. Everything Nico does has a purpose and that's to help others. Sure, because of this he holds those close to him at higher standards, but it's because he doesn't want to see anyone fail. I also felt so bad for all of the pressure that he keeps on his own shoulders, how he internalizes any issue instead of opening up. When Nico could accept that he isn't responsible for everyone's actions and Raven could let down her guard, these two are magic.

“There is darkness in all of us, but there is light, too. Yours still shines, Raven. How brightly is up to you."

Quick recap on Nico: he's a cop, he's hot AF and he's a giant, mushy teddy bear with a lot of feelings. Um, sign me up for one of those please and thank you! Maybe I should try my chances with a speeding ticket? Decisions, decisions... ;)

“Is this the part where you tell me not to worry? That objects appear larger from this angle? My attempt at levity falters under my shaky voice. I’m no virgin, but my body has never accommodated something that size.
Gripping the base of his shaft, he kneels on the bed and nudges my knees apart. His eyes flick up to mine, that usual liquid ocean now blue flame. “This is the part where I show you how good a man can make a woman feel.

*blushes*

I loved how strong and independent Raven is. She holds her pride high and will only ask for help when it's truly needed. One thing would've loved to see of from her is her vulnerable side! In those moments when she showed her vulnerability, especially with Nico, amazing things happened. Those were some of my favourite moments of the entire book. She may have been a bit hard to connect to, and damn don't even get me started on her stubbornness, but Raven was without a doubt the perfect heroine to bring Nico to his knees. I've been curious about her since My Perfect Mistake, so I'm so happy to now have her story!

“Penny for your thoughts. Kolton nudges my elbow, his brown eyes soft with compassion.
“Seems cheap, and we don’t have pennies anymore. My heavy thoughts weigh more than the crown jewels.

For all of my non-Canadian friends, true story. We don't have pennies.

I'm a sucker for romance. Can you tell? And you don't have to sell me on a fancy candlelit dinner, I want the real stuff. Quiet whispers on the couch, stolen glances or touches, family dinners with crazy siblings. All of that stuff means more to me and therefore builds a stronger report with the characters and their relationship. To be romantic, sometimes you just need a Hawaiian shirt and crazy nickname. From now on, please call me Petal.

The last (I want to say) 30% or so really just knocked me off my feet. In that short span alone there was not only plenty of plot development and character growth, but these two learning so much about each other and their relationship all at the same time. The rising action and subsequent conflict was so simple, but the reactions and outcome were so complex, I was really excited to see how Nico and Raven would work their way back to each other. And the feels! Ahhh, there were just so many feels it makes my little heart happy. Coming out of this though, my favourite part of the entire book was the resolution. Usually, when one character does something wrong, I want to see them in their knees grovelling. Who doesn't like a little well deserved grovelling? But here, there were issues on both sides. Sure, one character screwed up more than the other but you know what made that perfect? It was the fact that they then BOTH had to work TOGETHER to find their way back to each other. There was grovelling, there were heartfelt speeches, there was a ton of romance and all of it was perfect. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Kelly writes my favourite endings ever.

"Poker players don’t lead with their hands open. They bluff once or twice, ensuring unpredictability, then they attack. This is my chance to go all in, all chips on the table, win big or fold. For Nico, I’ll risk everything."

Oh, and then we get to this little thing called an epilogue, and here's were I'm going to contradict myself; where I love endings, I usually hate epilogues. I hate how forced they are and it seems that in every epilogue ever, the couple either 1. Gets engaged. 2. Has their wedding. Or 3. The heroine announces that she's pregnant. Let's all start a slow clap for originality, okay? Yeah, I'm not a fan. But Kelly, my girl, she writes the most beautiful epilogues that have my heart soaring in the clouds and the biggest smile on my face. They're perfect, every time. The epilogue in Hooked on Trouble though wasn't just to end off Raven and Nico's story, but it was also a send off for Shay and Kolton, and Lily and Sawyer as well. That's right, we got one last hoorah with the whole gang together and it was magnificent. Especially with that bomb dropping, and THANK THE LORD! because I've been waiting for this moment to come up for THREE BOOKS!!! Hahaha I'm so happy, I love it. #bratoss

"We’re not the same, Nico and me. We won’t always agree, and we might test each other’s limits, but if he kisses me like this and opens his heart, I’ll be his and his and his. And he’ll always be mine."

Yeah, sure, Hooked on Trouble can be read as a standalone, as with the others books in the series, but why would you bother when they're all this good? Trust me, start with My Perfect Mistake, fall in love with everyone, and then keep going. You won't be disappointed! <3

Kelly seriously impresses me more and more with every book she writes. With her debut, Chasing Crazy, coming out only a year ago, it's astounding the level of precision and perfection that she uses in her stories. You'll never know that she's a newer author, she writes like a seasoned professional. She creates characters that you want to know and love while creating dynamic stories that are real enough to seem obtainable. In the romance industry, what more can you want? The sassy or strong heroines, the alpha, brooding or loveable heroes? Yeah, don't worry, they're all there too. <3 It feels like she's been doing this for years, so I'm shocked to now see that it's literally been one year. But damn, what a year it has been.

"Standing here, so close [to him], I can easily forget the nights I spent staring at my cell phone, plotting his demise. Dismemberment by captive killer whale was high on my list, a close second to pitching machine shots to the balls."

I feel like I've come full circle with these characters and honestly don't want to let them go. Ask ANY of the other Sisters here at The Sisterhood of the Traveling Book Boyfriends, I don't ever finish a series. I could pick up a story that's book 5 in a series, or book 3. I'll read one, sometimes two, and move on. I never, EVER, finish a series (and it drives Quinn nuts!). I'm usually just too busy or there's too many other books releasing around the same time and I move on. But with the Over The Top series by Kelly Siskind? No way, Jose. I'm hooked, 4.5 stars.

"I’m nothing but a moody troll."

This quote just speaks to me. ;)

4.0 "SEXY BEAST" STARS!!!

Wowza! Hooked On Trouble is just the ending of this series I never thought it would be! It's a blend of angst, roller coaster of events, issues and romance so passionate and real. The title of this book has never been more true because I was Hooked On Trouble!

I have been a fan of Kelly Siskind and this series has become my addiction. She does not disappoint, instead she will give you a story worth your sleepless night. In fact, she had me with her words and lines with every book she releases and I simply adore her writing skills.

Now in this case, Nico and Raven has caught my interest right from the first time I met them. There's just something with this two that is intriguing, magical and powerful that I have been anticipating for this book to come out. You cannot blame me because Kelly portrayed these characters so perfectly imperfect. Beautiful but flawed yet beyond the imperfections lies uniqueness that will make you hooked with the story and made you fall in love with them.Where one don't do real" , the other "don't do casual".Insecurities here and there, issues lying around but beneath it lies a strong personality that made these two explosive. Damn! The scenes, hot!!! So HOT! Like fanning yourself hot! Ahhh.. they were just so perfect. Not because of the sexual chemistry but they just fit perfectly together.

But you know what I love more about this book? It's the fact that everything was written so real. It wasn't rushed but articulately written that when you started to read you have no other choice but to concentrate with the words and lines with every turn of the pages. I may have issues at first with Raven's attitude towards Nico but was long forgotten the moment I started reading the book. As usual, Kelly did not just deliver romance with heat and sexiness, she did not just gave us love at second chance but she gave us a an awe inspiring story packed with humor, heat, passion and love. I was engrossed on how their lives turned out to be and how they are put together. And to be honest, I couldn't ask for more better ending than this for Nico and Raven. When you read what they went through, I'm sure you'll definitely understand where my adoration for them came from. I just love these characters so much and to read their growth in this story is just something really worth looking forward.

And that ending? Just perfect!
To Kelly Siskind, Great job! I will definitely miss the craziness and passion of your characters!!!

This is third in the series and the friend group and much of the main couple's backstory are laid out in prior books. You should probably read the first, at a minimum, if you want to ensure you have all the right emotional details.

I was looking forward to this one because I just love the big, caring guy who works hard to help those he loves. And Raven just drips with cool and that she teaches art at a middle school just slew me. And then I started reading. And it turns out that Raven hated her job and dropped it to be a photographer. And Nico is a judgmental jerk with a side of self-righteousness that has him sighing about all the hard things he has to do for his poor family because they're all so messed up.

And my disappointment starts early because the moment I found out what happened in the first book that has left them so angry at each other I lost all sympathy for the giant jerk of Jerkytown. I mean, yeah he fights crime and all (legally, because he's a cop). But the combination of his hardline attitude towards his brother and cowardice in sharing his (lack of) progress on his case left me with nothing to really care about.

And it was bad enough to find that Raven actually hated teaching kids but then she decides that her calling is to photograph homeless people and their hard lives and I almost sprained an eyeball it was rolling so hard. Honey, that's been done. By, like, every photography student in the history of photography. Everybody that wants to know already knows. And everybody who doesn't know isn't going to be reached by your earnest retread. At this point, that impulse is just so much virtue-signaling exploitation with a side order of performance empathy. Yeah, yeah, Raven cares oh so very much. Only not enough to get her hands dirty and dig into the weeds and actually make a difference in someone's actual life.

So I was limping already but then I realized I was nearly halfway through the story and still had no idea what she'd done that had her feeling guilty for her sister leaving. Because nine year-olds so often do things that result in their nineteen year-old sisters' everlasting hatred and abandonment. I mean, I can think of a couple theoretical possibilities. But they're pretty far-fetched. So most likely it's just some stupid assumed guilt thing that authors like to give their characters so they can brood and be all tortured and crap. But I don't know because Siskind is playing silly-buggers with the details.

So I'm done, is what I'm saying. And maybe it was my expectations being so cruelly disappointed. Or maybe it really is the boring pile of cliché I perceive it to be. I dunno. I just know that there are other books on my shelf ready for me to read and dropping this one fills me with a sense of relief.

This book definitely lived up to the title! Nico and Raven both have similar family issues. Nico's brother Josh has gotten himself in some hot water and Nico will stop at nothing to clear his name. Raven is on the hunt for her missing sister Rose. She finally finds her and everything should be good but it's not. Rose isn't what she appears to be and Raven feels guilty and wants to help her because that's her sister. Now, I understand where Nico is coming from but him of all people should understand how it is to want to help a troubled family member. Nico stopped at almost nothing when it came to his brother Josh and almost risked his job but Raven is wrong to help her sister? Hypocrite much?? Nico has some very high standards when it comes to certain things but it's ok for him to break the rules. This was a major turn off for me. I loved the heart that Raven had but she should have proceeded with caution when it came to her sister Rose. You haven't seen her in a long time and people change big time. As much as I wanted to like Raven and Nico as a couple I had a hard time connecting to them. Maybe there was too much family drama? Nico's dismissal of Raven so easily?? I loved Lily and Sawyer and so was happy to get more of them in this book!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Over the Top series and I'm sad to see it come to an end with Hooked on Trouble. But what an ending it is! Raven and Nico's story is the perfect conclusion to this trilogy, it's everything you could want in a contemporary romance.

Nico is my favorite type of hero- strong, protective, compassionate, caring, and best of all vulnerable. He really is a big softy! His loyalty and love for his family is so admirable, they mean everything to him- it's driven him to become the man he is, it's led him to the career he's chosen, it drives every aspect of his life.
Raven is a badass. I want to be her when I grow up! (or grow younger as it were) Her love for her friends is unparalled and she takes shizz from no one, Nico included. She had a tough upbringing and that's left her flawed and has led her to make a few questionable choices. But like Nico, a lot of what she does is family-driven.
The connection Nico and Raven have is honestly something special. There's a spark between them that hasn't dimmed, even through the months they were apart. Sometimes you meet a person and just know that they are meant to be a in your life, even with obstacles and issues and secrets conspiring to keep you separated. Beyond the emotional bond, the chemistry between them is seriously hot, hot, hot. These are 2 such combustible characters, get them in the same room and there's a chance things could start catching fire!

I've been hooked on since I read early last year- it was one of my top reads of 2016, and she's kept my enthralled with each book since. While I'm sad to say good-bye to these 3 couples, I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us...I'm thinking Stella is going to need her own book!

There are some authors who can write, and then there are some authors who can create magic with their words. Kelly Siskind is that magical type, who paints visuals, stirs emotions, and angst and sexiness with a single line or word. Hooked on Trouble was a novel filled with pages and pages of magic that I absolutely adored.

Nico and Raven spent a sensual night in Aspen together a few months back and their paths have crossed again, proving that their chemistry wasn't sparked from the drinks they'd indulged in. And now that they're living in the same city, things can only go up for them, right? No, not really. There's a lot they work through, a lot of heart break at the same time. Not to mention a looooot more kissing too.

Out of the three books in this series, HOT is the one that pulled at my heartstrings the most. It was beautiful, truly the type of story that will stick with you long after you're finished reading it. And though I'm sad to part from these characters and their stories, I am smiling, knowing that I've witnessed their journey.

***4.5 “These two I swear… Stars***

It feels like I’ve been waiting for FOREVER to get my hands on Raven and Nico’s book. The chemistry between them was intense and I needed to see how they’d work through their issues, and though I knew it would be an angsty read, I did because there was no way it couldn’t be, but holy hell, these two took the cake. Thankfully there was a good dose of sweet, smexy and humor to help balance it out and make Hooked on Trouble a great read.

I’ve had a bit of a girl crush on Raven from the start due to her sassy, snarky but sweet nature and how comfortable she is in her own skin. There were moments when I did think she was a bit over the top, but nothing too crazy. But after finding out about her past and what she’s lived through, my love for her has increased. She’s lived through hell, has made some sketchy decisions, but learned from them. But she’s also built a lot of kevlar tough walls around her which keep her from getting to close to many people.

Nico. Holy. Yummyness! Talk about tall, dark, handsome and smexy as sin but then you add in a compassionate and generous heart and not only does the man melt panties, but hearts as well.
His childhood has let him to live a live where things are either black or white, right or wrong there are no gray areas in his world. He’ll go to the ends of the earth for those he calls his own, but since he sets his standards impossibly high, when anyone slips from what he deems the right path he is absolutely devastated.

As I said in the beginning, I knew Nico and Raven’s road to their HEA would be an angsty one, but dear lord these two really put me through the ringer. The chemistry between them was explosive from the beginning and I loved their bantering and witty comebacks as much as their smexy dialogue. The similarities in their upbringings helps to deepen their connection, but their trust issues and tunnel vision keeps them from taking that final step that could lead to a love of a lifetime. The ups and downs that these two went through had me wanting to reach out and smack some sense into them, but they were necessary. They both had so many issues to work through in order to truly be ready for what the other could give them that I found it hard to put down and I loved how they finally got their shit together in the end.

This series was a lot of fun to read, even when I wanted to reach out and smack some sense into them all. The characters were all well developed and I loved seeing how they grew, not only in their own books, but as the series progressed, and seeing how much stronger and settled they all were in the end. That family feel, whether by choice or blood, that I love so much was done perfectly with how involved they all were in each others lives. I’m sad that this is the last book of the series, but I’m thrilled that I got to experience the ride and see where they all ended up!

Wow. This story is completely responsible for my grogginess at work today! Stayed up WAY too late to finish it, because once I got to THAT moment (you'll know it when you get there!) it became impossible to put down the book. Nico and Raven are fabulous characters who leap off the page straight into your heart. A fabulous read!

I grew up reading romance, but it wasn't until recently that my love of the genre was fully rekindled—and I absolutely credit Kelly Siskind for it.

The Over the Top series is sexy as hell, but even more than that, these books capture the emotional vulnerability of falling in love, and all the complications that come with two strong personalities entering into a relationship. They're raw, honest, smart, and fun; basically everything you could possibly ask for from a great romance novel!

Additionally, it is a rare author who not only keeps me hungry for their next book, but who also improves as a series goes on. Raven and Nico's story is easily my favorite of the series, due in large part to how realistically both characters are portrayed over the course of the book. They make mistakes, but they don't make excuses for them. And damn, if they don't have chemistry! (But I would expect nothing less from this series.) ((Also, Nico. Mmm, yes. *fans self*))

I also have to say, I really enjoyed the cameos by couples from the previous books. None of the characters I grew to love in the other books have disappeared; their happily-ever-afters are still unfolding, and that was nice to see. Siskind has really created a family out of these friends, and I couldn't be happier to see that in fiction.

In short, if you enjoy romance, you must pick up these books. Any one will do! Though I have to warn you: once you read one, you'll be compelled to read the others.

Sempre impudente. «Solo con quelle con cui voglio uscire». «In tal caso, vediamo cosa sai fare».

Let’s lay the cards on the table.

Nico and Raven were worth the wait.

Yep. Even though I kept looking over my shoulder at them as I read through My Perfect Mistake and A Fine Mess, I’m glad that they waited to tell their story, for a variety of reasons.

1. Kolton and Shay had to go first. There’s a kid involved and unrequited love for them over 2 years wouldn’t have been fair to Jackson. Plus, they are the foundation of the series.
2. Sawyer and Lily had to be next because these two needed each other desperately. Waiting much longer would have been catastrophic for both.
3. Nico and Raven had to go last because of all their baggage. Some might say they got together too soon, but I won’t because a little pain never hurt anyone.

I was introduced to Kelly Siskind’s books on Twitter, confirming that good things can come from social media. I had my twitter phase just as My Perfect Mistake was hitting e-books everywhere. I’m so glad. My Perfect Mistake was one of my favorite books of 2016 (and Kolton? One of my favorite book boyfriends!). A Fine Mess was next and touched my heart with Siskind’s take on love between two souls that were shouldering so much alone. And, now 2017 starts off with Hooked on Trouble, a story of two people who place family above everything despite the questionable ones they grew up in.

Nico and Raven are such beautiful characters. Readers sort of knew this about Nico because his friends can’t say enough good things about him, but Raven is such a wonderful surprise. Tattooed, always dressed in black, sarcastic and sharp-tongued, Raven is outwardly the tough girl in the group. We know that she didn’t have a good start in life and found trouble wherever she could early on. But she kept her huge heart buried until Nico dug it up in Aspen and then broke it. Nico could have handled things better, but even his huge shoulders aren’t big enough to handle everything he puts on them.

Family drives Hooked on Trouble. Neither Nico nor Raven had a good upbringing. Nico has barely managed to keep his family together, while Raven wants nothing more than to find the one person in her’s that ever felt like home. When Raven’s quest to find her sister brings her and Nico back together, Siskind treats her readers to a book that is filled with the gentleness of spirit against the backdrop of homelessness, recovery, betrayal, and, most importantly, love.

And, there is so much to love about Hooked on Trouble: friendship, family, soul mates finding each other and making each other better. That moment when you realize that you’ve found the one person who you can be you with, despite all the trouble that’s come before and will come after. With her Over the Top series, Siskind gave her readers three very different couples, all struggling with different, yet every day, things that we can relate to: gentle souls wrapped up in strong packages that reach into your heart and slowly grab hold of it.

5 Stars for Hooked on Trouble. Heat level: 4

Pronte a scoprire cos’ successo dopo quella vacanza?

L’epilogo è OVER THE TOP.

Buona Lettura.

Title: Hooked On Trouble
Author: Kelly Siskind

4 unexpected stars

For my first taste of what Kelly Siskind has to offer, I couldn't have asked for a better introduction than Hooked On Trouble. It was the kind of read that gave me butterflies in my stomach and had me laughing at some of their antics. The suspense in having Raven search for her lost sister was something that had me at the edge of my seat and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

4 breath taking dreams

Raven and Nico's relationship is one that started off right, but the night's ending was one that cut deep, making Raven distrustful of Nico's action. Watching them attempt to strengthen their trust in one another, deal with their issues and even overcome the obstacles they face was something that kept me entranced and wanting to keep going. I enjoyed my first taste of Kelly Siskind... now I just have to get my hands on the rest of this series and fall in love with those characters as well.

Kelly Siskind is one of my favorite "new-to-me" authors from 2016. My love affair with her books started when I began reading Chasing Crazy on a plane. (Which, if you've read this book, you understand why I feel the need to mention the plane...) I laughed so hard I cried and then I swooned and melted all over the place as the book went on. It only took that one book for me to be totally hooked on Kelly's writing. Since then, I've promptly devoured each book she's released and I've loved each of them in their own way. Her Over the Top series is a wonderful, fresh NA series with characters its easy to fall for and romance and friendships that are so real it almost hurts. (But in a good way.) Because of the way the story built throughout the Over the Top series, I was DYING to get my hands on Nico and Raven's story. I had to know what went down between them and why she was so against all things Nico, when he seemed pretty damn swoony from where I sat. I wasn't wrong.

Everything about Hooked on Trouble was perfect to me. I loved learning more about these characters I'd seen in two previous books. It was wonderful to get to spend time in both of their heads, as this book is told from both POV. (One of my favorite things in books, especially when it's done well like it was here.) Raven and Nico's story was more than I could've hoped for not only was it sexy as hell because oh my gods the chemistry, but it also gave me a fair few feels along the way. Also feel-inducing? Getting to catch up with Shay, Sawyer, Kolton and Lily. I just love them all so darn much! This was a brilliant ending to a series I loved from the very start and figure I'll reread a few times in the future, too.

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

FAVORITE QUOTES
My "just right" isn't average. It's thick and long and hard. It's Thor's hammer big. It's attached to a tower of tattooed muscle, one I vowed never to acknowledge again.

"If you want me, tell me something real."

"There is darkness in all of us, but there is light, too. Yours still shines, Raven. How brightly is up to you."

I'm hungry for her. Starving. Like nothing I've ever felt.

My lips are nowhere near his, but his touch is like the first snowfall and running through puddles and falling into leaves.

Hooked on Trouble is the third and final book in Kelly’s series, Over the Top. And it’s one I have been dying to read.

“To show someone rise, you have to show them fall.

This is Nico and Raven’s story. And let me tell you, it’s one hell of an emotional ride. Raven has always kept her heart locked up. She doesn’t do feelings and has always been one to put her feelings in little compartments and lock them away forever. Until Nico. Until that one night she gives him a glimpse of who she is. And he destroys her.

Nico sees himself as the only solid foundation for his family. He’s been trying to help his brother from ending up in prison like their father and keeping his sister on the straight and narrow and away from drugs. It’s a lot for one person to handle, but he does it because he feels it’s his duty. But only a few know of his family’s issues he doesn’t open up about that part of his life much. And when he meets Raven, he keeps that part under lock and key. A heartbreaking mistake.

Nico and Raven realize they need to handle their problems or risk causing friction and possibly losing friends over their issues. But what they can’t deny is their attraction to one another something that has not diminished since their last and only night together.

Nico is a huge mushy marshmallow. He may a very strong cop on the outside, but inside, he’s all feelings and mush. And he’ll do anything and everything to protect those he loves. Raven is the complete opposite. Even though they’ve had very similar upbringings, they made different decisions and that’s cause Raven is be more hard and rigid. But something in Nico brings out the soft side of her.

“Our past choices shape us, but our future ones define us.

I love Nico and Raven’s story. It’s not all butterflies and rainbows. There are some dark tales that work their way into their lives. And it causes them both to re-evaluate things and their relationship.

Kelly has written another amazing story and I am so glad that we finally got Nico and Raven’s story. I knew it wasn’t going to be a fluffy romance but I loved how she mixed the hard edges with some soft edges made the story even better. And I love reading about Shay and Kolton along with Lily and Sawyer. I hate to see them end but all their stories were beautiful and I loved each journey.

I look forward to reading more from Kelly in the future.

Genre: New Adult Romance

Oh lala! Kelly Siskind has written yet another amazing novel with downright sexy and honest characters that will charm your pants off!!! I don't know how she does it but she makes her stories come to life and her characters so endearing that you will think they are your own best friends. I absolutely adore her novels and I think many would agree that she is an author that everyone should have on their TBR. With that being said, I swooned while reading this book. Nico has taken away my heart and thrown away the key. He is truly so much different than I first anticipated and am pleasantly surprised (and frankly, excited) that he turned into a man that every woman dreams about. Our heroine here is equally as loveable and I am so glad we finally got to hear her story. Sure, it's a bit more emotional than I anticipated but this adds to the quality of the story. I just loved it to pieces!!!

If you have read the series than you will know that is follows three best friends (each book can standalone though) as they find their happily ever after. Sure there is a lot of angst and some hurdles that each have to go through but it HOW they get their that makes all the difference in the world. In this one, we get an in depth look at Raven and the smooth talking and swoony Nico. These two had a hot hookup back in Aspen (do you remember?!?!) and have somehow come back to each other -- I call it FATE --. But bumps in the road will make it hard for these two especially when it comes to beginning a real relationship. But if they can sucessfully navigate them, it will be all sunshine and rainbows... Right?

Overall, this is a LOVELY book and I highly recommend it. I love Kelly Siskind's books (I have read them all) and will continue to do so. Although I wish this series didn't have to end (this is the final book) I can't wait to see where Kelly goes with her future books. I will definitely be reading them no matter what!!

From the very beginning I was wondering what happened between Raven and Nico that night is Aspen and finally now I know. Sixteen months ago they spent the night together sharing many personal things but then Nico had to leave and she has been avoiding him ever since. Now that she is has moved and is living in the same city she knows she will be seeing a lot more of him.

Nico knows he hurt Raven and she has every right but he will stop at nothing to win her forgiveness in the hopes she will give them another shot. The problem is getting her alone to explain his family issues since she is really is avoiding him at all costs.

When I first started this seriesit was funny original and kept me wanting more.Unfortunately I didn't love Hooked on Trouble as much as I thought I would. Nico and Raven had a connection but I didn't feel as if they were like the other couples in the previous books.

One thing I loved about Hooked on Trouble was that their relationship was more emotional then physical. From the beginning they both knew they had a special connection and it scares them a little both. Nico might not have started out as the favorite of the guys in this series but I loved how Ms. Siskind showed what a good man he was and yet also showed his insecurities.

I really missed the funny partsand sarcasm from the previous books, while Hooked on Trouble did have a few of those moments they were far and few in between. I found this story to be on the darker side for the simple fact that Raven and Nico both have a dark pasts that they are still dealing with in the present.

Overall, I did end up enjoying this story and am looking forward to see what Siskind will come up with next.

Sweet baby Moses in a river basket...

First, off this was the final book in the Over the Top series. Based on couplings between two groups of friends. The characters originally meet in book 1, but book 1 or 2 do not need to be read in order to read book 3. Characters from early books are reintroduced flawlessly and easily (though there are a one or two spoilers, so be prepared if you do skip books 1 & 2).

When book 1 happened we knew SOMETHING happened between Nico and Raven. Then book 2 happened and Raven was still giving a big middle finger to Nico. I kept wondering, "WHAT DID HE DO!?!"

I will be honest. I was worried that the build up of Nico's jerkface moves wouldn't be enough. It had been teased and built up for so long I didn't want to be disappointed and think, "That's it?!"

Kelly hit that ball out of the park.

The reason was prefect.
The set up and working through their moments was excellent.
The way their flaws wove around one another was perfectly done.
And it doesn't happen often, but I even shed a tear or two.
I also fist pumped the air a bit when things work out (come on...it's romance, which means happily ever after...of course it's going to work out!).

I've been a fan of Kelly's since Chasing Crazy and I will continue to recommend her books to anyone who likes romance.

RECENSIONE DI ROMINA
VOTO: 5

Buona lettura

This is the third book in Kelly Siskind's Over the Top series, and it's a totally satisfying finale. I've been wanting to read Raven and Nico's story since A Perfect Mistake, and Hooked on Trouble certainly delivered. Nico is a giant of a sweetheart, while Raven's compact, but tough. Yet, they fit together perfectly, and their chemistry and heat lights up the page. Loved the cameos from Kolton and Shay, Sawyer and Lily, like seeing old friends again. Kelly has such a way with scorching hot scenes and hilarious banter. This is no exception.

Salve Confine,
Buona lettura.
