Hi, so excited about being on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and sharing my Middle School books with you! I live in beautiful Noosa, in Australia. For most of my life I was a teacher of Middle School kids, and what an awesome experience that was. It gave me the opportunity to understand the problems that kids go through. My writing partners are Kaz and Bill Campbell, they were also Middle School Teachers. We hope you enjoy our books as much as we love writing them for you!!!

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý The story doesn't really fit the impression that the cover gives. Its a historical paranormal serial which leaves readers on a serious cliff hanger without many answers involving who the characters are, what their back stories are, the reasons behind their actions. I wanted more emotion from the cast, I wanted more of their purpose. I am curious though because its an interesting world and I'm curious as to what happens next. I'm hoping for more development later on. Ìý Ìý Ìý

A adult read for people who are in to the series recommended highly can't wait for the next one of the series a really enjoyable read but quick shaping up to be a enjoyable series series
This is a rather different type of book. Catherine is living in some kind of village and a group of raiders attack, taking her captive. She ends up a slave and is shipped to the new world where she is sold along with her brother. Life is rough for her at first but one thing that helps her is that she can read and write and that gets the interest of the master of the plantation.
A master who can be cruel but has her work for him on his accounting books and other things. (From the title you know he's a vampire.)
The whole slave part is done well especially as it shows what it was like to be on a slave ship. I like the fact that she is obviously intelligent and that is definitely going to help her.
Catherine and her brother and bethroted are captured in a village in Ireland and sold to a master in Jamaica. Bastian happens to be a vampire and takes a liking to Catherine because of her ability of writting and reading and eventually, moves her form being a house servant to writting his story... The Story telling is full of details, to the point you feel like you are sitting with them in the burning village and the fear inside the boats, the pain of losing her family, and the uncertainty of punishment for being too bold in front of a very scary master. It is a fascinating story, very different of any other vampire story I've read so far.
There was something about this book that just didn't do it for me. Sure, the plot had me a little curious at first, but then I just sort of lost interest. When this is the case, I normally do not finish the book if I am no longer interested. However, I somehow managed to finish until the vey end. There is definitely a cliffhanger in wondering who Bastian is exactly. In general, the writing was decent, but there were a few obvious grammatical errors. I didn't care for the characters or feel very attached to them. I guess the only thing that I can say is that this book just wasn't my cup of tea.
Normally I stay away from series that are cliffhangers but this one seems to be complete. I downloaded book 1 for free and got hooked so I bought the rest. Book 1 was interesting and informative. Definitely wasn't what I expected, villages are destroyed and captives taken to be sold as slaves, Catherine ends up on a plantation with her brother and some other captives they met in the ship, but something is strange about her new Master. Ended on a cliffhanger when Master was about to tell his story. Can't wait to read the rest.
To be honest this story was in a word boring. The story started fine but slowed way down by chapter three on top of very little in the way of plot or character development. Spent too much time on non-important elements not even getting to the interaction between what I assume are the main characters until 85% into the book. In a vampire book one expects there to be a bit more biting and there was none.
This book was nothing what I expected. I found Catherine's journey from a bride to be only for that to be snatched away and sold as a slave very compelling. I found that her character was well done and she feels like a lived in character and other characters too. I found this first book was more of a stage setter that dies not need to beg for one to continue, it uses the mystery to do that for this book.
Can't wait for Bastian story. God!!! this was heartrending, just brought back everything I studied on slavery in Caribbean Literature back in school. Great story line although I don't really see how the introduction of the vampire concept would play out, I guess i have to read book two to find out.
I'm really disappointed in the amount of books lately that don't complete the story. I understand having a series and an overarching storyline; however, each individual book in a series needs to be a complete story in and of itself so you can read one and feel satisfied at the end. This one does not do that, I felt like I was only just getting to the conclusion when it suddenly ended.
A master piece truly fascinating wonderful wording it's as though u are there riding the waves hearing the blood curdling screams I loved it now I can't wait to read bastions story will they fall in love or end in pain for them
Not exactly what I expected, I would have liked to know more about how the relationship with the vampire started before getting halfway through the book.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I thought this was a very interesting book. I read in just a few hours and wished there was more to read. I am definitely interesting to see more of this story.
Catherine is taken from her home in Ireland as a slave to be sold. I liked the way Katrina described the "journey" across the sea and the hardships they faced while trying to not to die of sickness and hopelessness. When they arrive on a new island, they are sold as slaves to a mysterious owner. Catherine becomes curious about her new master/owner and his weird ways and how mysterious and ominous everything is on the plantation.
I found this book to be very interesting and I really liked Catherine and her knucklehead brother. I am definitely going to see what happens next. I hope to learn more about Bastian and get more sense of history. The cliffhanger drove me mad, but not enough to make me not want to continue to read on with the story.
This Paranormal Romance was a short book at about 100 pages and it was a pretty easy read. It is about a young girl who is taken from her village and forced into slavery for a vampire master. The plot really focuses on this girl, Catherine, and her journey to an island, sold as a slave, then her first few months with her new master. So nothing too exciting but it was interesting learning about Catherine and her drive to live through this whole ordeal. She is a very strong female lead and although this is called a romance there wasn't really any romance yet. I can see that it will be built into the series though.
Also of note, the next book is from a different point of view. I just got the next book in the series and I am excited to start it and see where it goes from this point. Overall, this was an entertaining read and I am looking forward to continuing the series.
A great way to go into a world of pure imagination ,creativity, and love
I choose this rating because it felt so lifelike, I liked the part where Catherine's brother tells her to be careful and I would recommend this book to pre-teen's
