Anna Barnes is surely becoming a name I highly trust and recommend. Her books are the kind of self help books I didn't know I needed to read. The words, style and illustrations are lovely.

It is quite possible that, even if you set the most relevant, realistic goals, you may not achieve them in the way or the time you wanted to. Life may throw something unexpected in your path, which stops you from achieving what you want, when you want. This is not failure. Feeling like you have failed is bound to lead to low mood, and can often come about if things haven't quite gone according to plan. However, the best thing to do is to draw a mental line under the experience, learn from what has happened and try again. As long as you are still trying, you are working towards your long-term aims; and as long as you are doing that, you are never truly failing.

Would give a 3.5. A little cheerful book with positive quotes, tips and beautiful graphic. It's not an in-depth psychological book that leads you to an inner philosophical self-talk. But hey! sometimes we need some little pretty thing that we can read and boost positive feelings in the morning :)

Okay, I liked this book. It was nice. It's like you get up in the morning and read some inspirated quotes. There were beautiful photos and illustrations. I liked some quotes though, there were some like" The uncertainties are loud, the self-confidence is quiet. "which didn't make me feel better or improve my confidence level. However, I understand that not all of the quotes have a deep meaning but I am still looking for meanings in such books like that.

Besides, I don't understand at the page 84 in " Learn something new " paragraph the sentence " Researches showed that people who learn continuously in their whole life are more optimist and have a higher self-estimation. How did researchers make this point? Did they really follow a person who learn something new every day until he/she died and another one who was just sitting in the couch with popcorn every day?? It's so absurd for me. Generally every people learn something new every day about theirselves, hobbies, subjects, basically about life.

The biggest disappointment for me was about coffee. This book only wrote unacceptable and false information about caffein. Why would coffee and chocolate make you feel less self-confident?? It's not true that these drinks and foods increase your stress-level. Due to the types of people and immune system it has differenct effects on people but it has a thousands of advantages of drinking coffee if you drink it moderately!
1. Coffee boosts brainpower
2. It can help attention and concentration (depend on the quantity of intake)
3. Coffee increases blood pressure ( of course if you have issue with your high blood pressure you should ask your doctor about it!!)
4. Coffee makes your immune system stronger
5. It plays a crucial role in cancer prevention ( contains antioxidants)
6. For Parkinson's disease, research suggests that among other factors the preventative effect may be due to caffeine too
7. Coffee relieves a headache
8. Coffee reduces stress
9. Coffee improves your memory (short-term) and can help boost energy, increase the ability to learn and remember
10. Coffee helps you lose weight ( gives you an added boost at work or during exercise)
11. Coffee protects against heart failure
12. It has protective effects on the liver
13. Coffee can fight depression and make your happier (stimulate your mood)
I don't want anyone talk into drinking coffee. I just wanted to show you the other side of caffeine that the book didn't mention.

The other sad experience is about alcohol. Drinking alcohol has also benefits as well. The first rule is drink measurely!! I was sorrowful to read only about the wine good effects. What about beer which is the most common alcohol in the world? And what about pálinka which is the Hungarian tradition drink? When I was reading this part I felt like the author looks at me as an alcoholist and mentioned barely some good points only about wine. Hear is the bright side of drinking beer and pálinka moderately!!
Beer:
1. Prevents cancer
2. Protects heart ( contains vitamin B6 which protects against heart diseases)
3. Controls diabetes ( Diabete 2)
4. Lowers the risk of kidney and gallstones
5. Reduces stress and gives relief
6. It's good for bone density
7. Rich in antioxidants ( which help against infections)

á԰첹:
1. It has an antibacterial effect so destroys bacteria, fungus and viruses promptly
2. It's original fruit brandy so it contains vitamins
3. It helps in toothache, cold and rubbing
4. Pálinka is good merely against tall blood pressure

It all depends on your constitution that which effect will be shown.

This looked like a fun book to help boost my confidence. I really loved how pretty the inspiring quotes were. I would love to print them out and paste them to my wall as they are so colourful and wonderfully designed. The book is very visual with lots of picture, colours and minimal words.

The tips are simple but quite generalized. So if you are looking for something along the lines of detailed strategies and more information like research, this is not the book for you. It is a quick read that did make me feel more positive but I wished it went deeper. This is a great book to pull out if you are feeling down if only to look through the motivation quotes.

This was a wonderful, life-affirming book that addresses in a light-hearted way techniques in which to feel more confident. There’s a mixture of famous quotes, beautiful illustrations as well as more in depth chapters such as understanding confidence, treating yourself well, etc. The chapter on eating well struck a chord with me, as it provided some insightful thinking and tips on nutrition. Another favourite chapter of mine was about how to feel good about your clothing style which touched on clearing out and revamping your wardrobe, as well as wearing colourful clothing. I fully recommend this book and the author has a whole series covering other topics such as how to be happy, how to be mindful and so on I would love to delve into.

A nice book, full of tips and inspirational quotes. It's not groundbreaking, but I enjoyed reading it. Especially because of the cute and happy illustrations. A lovely, uplifting gift to give to yourself or someone who's currently not feeling very good about him/herself.

It's a cute book with beautiful illustrations. I loved the colors and the tips in this book .I used to read it every morning while waiting for my PCR test , at that time I didn't like to read an actual book with events so this was the perfect choice. A dose of positivity in the morning.
