5 in the game of 4.
5 stars are all I could give.

Received this from the author in lieu of an honest review. Honest it is, like all those times.

Let us begin this within a personal story first.

I'd always been academically exceptional. So, notching up a perfect 100 in the mathematics final terms shouldn't have bothered a 6th grader in me. But it did.

I got the notion that this achievement was less due to my hardwork and more attributed to the pen I wrote from. A classy addgel. I classed it as an objectification of luck.
Consequently, I penned down my next terms with it and the name Architalways topped the ranking charts.

As it happens, life hits you in the head with a brick sometimes. Someone borrowed that piece of luck and forgot where he kept it. It was lost to all. I was lost. Next, I showed a card to my parents reflecting a mere 49 against the column titled Science. Doomed, perhaps I would have thought myself to be.

As brittle and transient childhood thoughts are, I pretermitted and forgot all about it with time.
In the finals I topped the class and moved on with life. Achievements were back in business.

That pen was never remembered.

We all find patterns in things that do not matter. We believe that one thing leads to another and try to replicate it everywhere.

Like Kajal, who goes about choosing her dates, for instance, based upon their birth dates. We all have that person inside us. Human nature.

Only that it does not matter.

The mollifying presence of Chris is what she cherishes. The author has carved out their nexus with a sharp chisel. You'd enjoy the aura that they create with their nudges and sugar-coated profanities.

The story.

Well, I never reveal stories in my reviews. That's why I never have to use the spoiler html tag.

I won't reveal it this time either. That's for you to dig out!

But I can certainly scribe the adjectives I associate with the story. Soothing and well built.
Articulated is the word I will use! Twists and revelations made me smile a smile that proclaimed my liking of this book. The writing style holds room for enrichment, something that the author could better upon in her future endeavors. Yet, consequential lucidity is where strikes the point home for a reviewer.

The denouement for me was the star of the show. How the sheet of beliefs, or rather mis-beliefs you hold on to for dear life, are snatched away in a single jerk of hand.

Reveled in the illustrations of,

How friendship is of prime essence.

How running into fears makes them go down the drain.

How people chase wrong things.

How you are nothing but your choices.

And finally, how love knocks on everyone's windowsill and not the doors.

And how fortunate those audacious ones are open those windows ajar.

Bottom Line : Nothing less than 5 stars would do for me.

Thank you to the author for a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
5 in the game of 4 is one of those short reads that you can read in a single sitting simply because it has an interesting concept. I have never taken an interest in numerology before, to be honest. But this book made me feel a bit intrigued about numbers and I wonder what I am like, being a number "9". I liked all the characters, especially Rahul because of his sweet and caring character. The good part is that the book goes in a flow that keeps you intrigued. As promised in the blurb, there is a secret that Kajol is hiding and one that makes her who she is now; a freak about date of births.
Although the story is nice, it bothered me that none of the chapters had headings to identify who was narrating. The author used a different method of having all her characters narrate but it's annoying if the reader is unaware of who is narrating. Also, I have nothing against gay people but I am pretty sure they don't use "dear" or "darling" at the end of every sentence they speak. It was alright at first but soon I got irritated at Chris ending all his statements with 'dear', even in his narration
Apart from these, I thought the book was nicely thought out and a lot better than what you can expect from a new author so thumbs up to the author for that.

5 IN THE GAME OF 4 stands out in a field crowded with books aimed toward the female reader. It’s smart, honest and very funny with its own character and its own merits; the characters are well developed, extremely likable, and easy to connect with; they talk, shout, cry, and mock the theme of love, not holding back with their words or emotions. Love or hate each other, it doesn’t matter; the most important thing is to enjoy your life, to be happy it’s all that matters.
In other words you don’t need to know more than it is a romantic comedy with a happy ending and you will laugh yourself silly. This is a great summer read definitely one of the better romantic comedies I have come across lately. I finished it in three days, mainly because it’s different than other romantic stories and it was a smartly and funny written book.

A comical light-hearted young romantic read. Coupling a girl with a few very unique beliefs, and a gay roommate in a long distance relationship gives you an interesting dynamic. Centered around romance and numerology, the author had obviously well researched numerology with the citations throughout the novel reflecting that research. The characters are developed quite quickly at the beginning of the novel, and are extremely likable. I wish they could be my friends in real life. The dialogue between the two will make you laugh and the author tossed in some pop culture as well. I loved how the author gave the timeline and how she switches the narration between the two protagonists. A light laughable romance with unique ingredients. 5 glasses of wine and I look forward to more of her work!

Numerology vs destiny.
Is numerology a way to find your true mate? Well if you believe in numerology then it is difficult to think otherwise. I believe in compatibility of numbers, as I am a number 5 similar to Kajal in the book, perhaps the reason I could relate to the main character’s ideologies. This book is about Kajal, a nerdy apps entrepreneur who surrounds herself in black, white and greys. She is obsessed with numerology and sees it as the only way to find her true love. Hence Kajal goes about dating sites to choose her dates but is unable to gain success. Then comes Chris (I liked this character heaps), her new flat mate, and as predicted by Kajal’s numerology, he brings change in her life. A romantic comedy which I strongly recommend to contemporary romance readers or those interested in a fun light reading.

This book is a very nice light read. It is entertaining, funny and different from a lot of books that I have read. This book hit close to home. Not just with Character names, but with the whole Linda Goodman series. I have read her books on horoscopes and always try to guess people's sun sign by their traits. I still do think it is difficult for me to be friends with a few because they are of a particular sun sign. I know, I'm prejudice like that!

So about the story, it is a romantic one which is always a plus for me. Hero name being Rahul is quiet Cliche (like in Bollywood) and Krishna as Chris too, if you know what I mean, but no complains what so ever. I love the witty side of the female lead. Thought she let people in, be it home or heart, only based on their numbers, she seemed genuine with them. I think I'm little upset I din't get enough of Rahul and Kajal *pouting*. The last few chapters were a page turner like none. Enjoyed it and glad my friend recommended it!

This is not my usual genre, by a long shot, but i was entertained by the very sweetness of the various romantic entanglements in the book, kind of like "Sex in the City" without the in-your-face (figurative and sometimes literal) eroticism in so many books. There is no perfect way to find love in this world; I guess you know it when your number is up. Only flaw is that it was a bit disjointed in its presentation, but I'd recommend this nice, light read to anyone!
