This stunning book offers the reader with a host of bountiful options of flowering plants around the world. For ease of reference, the author has grouped these plants into families, such as the Cabbage, Cactus, Bellflower, Acanthus, Orchid, Grass, Protea, and Ginger families. This enables the reader to form a general description of each type of plant grouping, learn about its distribution across the world, its notable characteristics, and potential economic uses.
Dozens of color illustrations help the avid gardener visualize each type of plant. This is extremely helpful when attempting to identify specimens in the field, as well as when a gardener is planning the perfect color scheme for his backyard. The glossary in the back and detailed index aids the reader in identifying and selecting the ideal flowering plant for his unique environment, desired color palette and soil conditions. Great resource for any avid gardener.
