I know I can count on Laura Drewry for fun, heartwarming enjoyment with perfect blend of quirky characters, clever banter and a plot the caught me from the start.

Ronan O’Donnell might be happy for his younger brothers and their newfound happiness, as the oldest though, it’s his responsibility to watch out for their best interests, which includes keeping a sharp eye on the new filming crew for their reality TV show headed by Hope Seaver. He’s been harshly hurt by women in past and he won’t let it happen again no matter how sweet and kind she might seem, and sometimes it’s too hard to let go of the past. Can he risk his heart one more time?

Fighting to land a job on Hooked, a fishing reality show featuring three delectable brothers in beautiful British Columbia, Hope is determined to produce the best program showcasing not only the attractive scenery but the family dynamic between the O’Donnell clan. Something she knows will be an especially tough challenge when it comes to the adamant yet magnetic oldest brother. Can she convince him that she’s not out to exploit him or his family without tripping all over herself whenever his within range?

Having read the previous two books, I have been enjoying the buildup to Ronan’s story and was eagerly anticipating his journey towards happiness however bumpy that may be, because the man is brooding and temperamental but Drewry created his perfect complement. An honest and smart woman, sweet and charming, who in turn had also gone through her own personal tragedy.

In giving respect, space and understanding, Hope starts chiseling away Ronan’s defenses. Drawn to him before she met him, she hammers her way to his heart in a constant smile inducing manner with her ever present Mary Poppins/Hermione like bag full of everything you could ever need to her weird trivia facts spillage whenever she got flustered by him.
“Did you know a pig’s orgasm can last for half and hour?

Their romance is an engaging slow burn with a heart wrenching twist near the end that had more to do with Ronan’s past but still affected them.

With the O’Donnell’s tight knit clan we don’t just get very likeable supporting characters that help the story move along with entertaining interactions we also get to catchup with dear friends from past books.
Clutching his chest, Ronan staggered back a couple of steps. “This is not just a fishing rod, Hope. It’s a work of art; it’s like the Mona Lisa of rods.

Catch and Release is book #3 in the Fishing for Trouble series by Laura Drewry. It’s a standalone contemporary romance that drew me in with its charming protagonists and the ever original finishing backdrop. It’s told from both points of view, and has a happy ending.

CATCH AND RELEASE (Fishing for Trouble, #3)
Publisher: Loveswept (Feb 28, 2017)

Synopsis

Ronan O'Donnell is finally back at the Buoys permanently and it's a good thing, too, because even though his brothers have done a great job of getting the fishing lodge back up and running, it hasn't been without its share of craziness and emotional upheaval. Unlike Liam and Finn, though, Ro knows better than to let something like love cloud his thinking or get him into any kind of upheaval. He learned that lesson the hard way and he's not about to let another woman get anywhere close to what's left of his heart.

So while he's genuinely happy for his brothers, he's pretty sure their minds are focused more on Kate and Jessie than the lodge, which is fine except that a new film crew is about to arrive and someone needs to make sure they don't turn the Buoys into a three-ring circus. Sure, the O'Donnells might have agreed to let Hooked film there, and they might even have agreed to let the show into their personal lives, but there are still a few things—private things—that Ro refuses to share with the crew; things he's refused to share with anyone his entire life, and he's fully prepared to keep it that way.

What he's not prepared for is how hard and fast he falls for the show's producer, Hope Seaver, or for the way he finds himself wanting to share everything with her. Everything. But if he does, he'll be leaving himself vulnerable, open for her to easily destroy, and that's something he really needs to be prepared for.

He's not.

Not even close.

My thoughts

I absolutely adored the final book in the "Fishing for Trouble" series.
The characters were wonderfully written, sexy, and irresistible.

I loved Ronan!
I loved his strength and his vulnerability. He's so used to having the weight of the world on his shoulders and looking after the people he loves (his brother's), that he doesn't know how to open himself and trust because it's a risk that might destroy him.

The story was well developed and had me engaged right till the very end.
What I love most about this story is where this series takes place.
The western coast of Canada is one of my favorite places in the whole world.
Ms. Drewry does an amazing job of describing the scenery, and essence of the area so well- you'd think
you were right there with the characters.

The author shared this video of Chris Pratt cleaning and gutting a fish. I agree with her that he has Liam's part down perfect.

This is a great ending to one of my favorite series'.
If you want to read a fantastic series with sexy, charming, outdoorsy type men and unique, strong sexy women then this is the series for you.

I can't wait to read what Laura Drewry writes next!

Excerpt

"Hope shook Finn's and Liam's hands, smiling all the while as she consciously focused on maintaining slow easy breaths. No problem.

You got this.

And then she turned to greet Ronan. From the photos in the Hooked files, she'd cataloged every detail about him—about all of them—so deep in her brain that she could have described him perfectly even with her eyes closed.

From the green eyes, to the single freckle in the middle of his left cheek, to the three lines creasing his forehead. From the way he wore his thick brown hair just short enough that he probably only combed it with his fingers, to the way he stood a good inch or so taller than both of his brothers, and the way he always wore his watch on his right wrist. And, yeah, okay, she'd noticed the way his shoulders and biceps stretched the fabric of his T-shirts. Like it was doing now. Whatever. The point was, none of this was new to her; she knew all of it and more.

And yet not a single one of those details, nor any of the others she'd stored up, prepared her for the real Ronan O'Donnell—for the way his eyes weren't just green but a soft mossy color that looked at her with something more like surprise than the blatant anger she'd expected; for the way his strong handshake, hesitant as it was, somehow infused a bit of strength in her; and for how much actual space he took up.

Sure, she could have chalked up the crowding to the number of people on the dock or to the fact that the low-lying clouds made the whole cove feel socked in, but the fact was, Ronan James O'Donnell had a physical presence that was a little intimidating, a little daunting. Or at least it was right up until he spoke.

"Hope." Ronan nodded slightly as he released her hand. "Good to meet you."

It was silly to think he'd yell all the time, but it wasn't until he spoke her name that she realized that's exactly what she'd expected, exactly what she'd prepared herself for. It had to be why the deep warm timbre of his voice caught her off guard and sent crazy flutterings racing through her blood until she shivered them out as goosebumps.

Nerves, that's all it was. Or maybe relief. She'd prepared herself to meet the loud, angry Ronan and she'd shored up her will to deal with that, to be on the defensive right from the get-go. But now . . . now she could relax a little, right?

Yeah, right. He might not be yelling, but suspicion lingered in his eyes, and if this was going to work, she'd need to find a way to get him to trust her. She needed all of them to trust her, to believe she was the one they could count on, the one who'd protect their interests while providing the network with a ratings winner. She needed to show the O'Donnells they had absolutely nothing to worry about.

Nothing except for the fact that she'd never been the one in charge before, she'd never done this on her own, and one wrong move would no doubt bring the whole show to a screeching halt, putting herself, Kevin, and Chuck out of work.

But other than that . . . yeah . . . no worries.

"Thanks," she said, pushing what she hoped looked like a bright, confident smile. "Good to meet you, too."

She tucked the straps of her bag high on up on her shoulder, then set in to help off-load the rest of the bags and equipment. Once everything was stacked on the dock, the pilot didn't hang around; he just locked up the hold, climbed back inside the cockpit, and waved as Kevin untied the plane and shoved it away from the dock.

It took a bit of juggling, but once they'd stored some of the gear on Finn's boat and everyone was loaded down with the rest of the bags, Liam led them all up the dock toward the lodge. Kevin walked next to him, followed by Finn and Chuck, which left Hope to pull up the rear with Ronan.

"Here." Shifting the bags he already had, he reached for one of hers, but Hope shook her head.

"It's okay," she said. "I got it. Thanks."

The bags were freakin' heavy, and the drizzle was making the hard-plastic handles slippery, but she needed Ronan and everyone else at the Buoys to believe she was fully capable, not some ridiculous delicate flower who couldn't handle things. And while the rational side of her brain knew that carrying bags had absolutely nothing to do with how well she did her job, it was the principle of the matter.

So onward she trudged, and even though the rest of them were already well ahead, Ronan stayed with her, walking in silence, and looking very much as if he'd rather be getting his chest waxed. It couldn't have been more than a couple of hundred meters from the dock to the stairs, but it felt like miles, especially with neither of them saying anything.

Come on, Hope. You've read everything there is to read on this place-you know its specs, you know its history, you even know how many fish they caught last season. Say something! Anything. Talk about the weather, for God's sake.

"Did you know that Texas horned toads can shoot blood out of the corners of their eyes?"'

Laura Drewry has crafted the perfect little beach (or vacation cabin) read. It features a love story filled with tenderness wrapped with a little angst. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just right.

Straight from the start the reader knows that Ronan O'Donnell is a handsome but grouchy guy. He is not entirely keen on Hope Seaver's production crew settling in for the season to film a cable reality show highlighting the family's remote fishing retreat. Hope's job is to smooth over everything, including the eldest brother's irritable temper, so that the well-rated fishing cable show can come back for a few more seasons. At first sight of Hope, irritable Ro is a little gob-smacked.

Ms. Drewry knows her way around a cute phrase, plus her dialogue seems totally real all the time. While I wasn't guffawing out loud, I did catch myself grinning from ear to ear at times. The interactions between the brothers and Ronan's sarcasm carry the humor throughout the novel. Plus, Hope's quirky - and painfully awkward - trivia hits all the right notes.

Weirdly, for all their age (Ronan is 35 and Hope is 34) and experiences with exes, both characters seemed much younger. If it weren't for the colorful f-bombs dropped throughout the narrative, the first half of the book would have had me believing this book was a young adult novel, particularly with the hemming and hawing about whether or not to kiss and then the barely-there detail of the kiss. I also wanted Hope to feel excited rather than anxious at being at the helm of her first field production. On the other hand, maybe because they are more mature, they never seem to be in the moment, always analyzing, always careful. And this response is very true to their particular lessons in life. Eventually though, they get down to business and it is a true love scene. Both have waited for feelings to catch up with physical interest, and the depth of emotion in that single scene is really very nice, despite Ro's inability to speak flowery language.

I was a teensy bit disappointed that the description of place and landscape wasn't handled as deftly as the dialogue and emotion. I've never been to British Columbia or seen the ocean that far north, so I was hoping to experience sea fishing and island life on Canada's coast through the writing, but it just didn't feel part of the story.

The very end of the novel hits that wonderful "just right" note, too. Hope's angry monologue at Ro's behavior feels legit and honest. Drewry has a talent for precisely pegging sentiment and feelings.

And a shout-out to the amazingly varied and totally on-point book and movie quotes that begin each chapter. They were perfect summaries of the chapter theme and really set the tone. I enjoyed them a lot.

3.5 rounded to 4 stars.

I've enjoyed the other books in this series and I've been waiting for Ronan's story, so I couldn't read it fast enough.

And yep, Ronan is just as stubborn and sullen and moody as I expected. He's also adorably sweet, sentimental, and loyal af. Hope is smart, personable, and amazingly good at her job. At times she comes across as flighty, but after getting her back story, it all makes sense.

The plot line was intriguing. I did see a few things coming, but I loved seeing the couples from the previous books. The ending was fantastic and the epilogue was even better.

I'm sad that it's over, but can't wait to read what's next.

I've been invested in this series of brothers who own and run a down-on-it's-luck fishing island, The Buoys, since the beginning. I really enjoyed the final brother's story. Ronan has been broody, prickly and carrying a big chip on his shoulder for so long that he doesn't know any other way to live. I anticipated Ronan's story.

The Buoys continued to hedge towards success in this book with a second series of Hooked being filmed and here entered Hope, the new producer. Hope was a talented but tentative woman, wary of Ronan and both overwhelmed by his looks and his bad behaviour. Yet, there was tension there. This was a show burn and it was written so well; these two connecting was like a triumph.

I was edging towards a 3.5 star rating and then a twist occurred that I wasn't expecting and I got a grand culmination to the series that I didn't know I needed. It was a super satisfying end.

Catch and Release by Laura Drewry was a well written and heartwarming read.
I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Ronan and Hope, they were likable characters who had been hurt before and opening their hearts doesn't come easy for them.
It took time and honest communication before they slowly let in the feelings they've both been fighting, especially Ronan.

description

Overall, Catch and Release was a heartfelt addition to the Fishing for Trouble series. Each book has been a joy to read and I highly recommend them all.

I'm a big fan of author Laura Drewry's writing and I'm looking forward to whatever she has planned for us next!

Wow! Talk about an emotional roller coaster with this one. Such a great read. I def wasn't expecting this one to go in the direction that it did.
A cute romance between fisherman Ronan and tv show producer Hope. Hope is filming Ronan's fishing family as a reality tv show.
Lots of romance. Not much steam in this one.
I kept waiting and waiting for something to happen between Hope and Ronan. The author def built up the suspense for something to happen but takes awhile to get there.
I enjoyed this one a lot. Made me wish I had read the previous 2 books in the series first. This can def be read as a standalone but I'm sure the other 2 are prob just as enjoyable as this one was.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with the ARC.

Favorite Quotes:

It wasn’t as if he’d been celibate since his divorce, but he’d made damn good and sure that every woman he’d been with knew he was a card-carrying member of the catch-and-release program.

Clutching his chest, Ronan staggered back a couple of steps. ‘This is not just a fishing rod, Hope. It’s a work of art; it’s like the Mona Lisa of rods.

Talk about JD people love talking about their pets, haven’t you noticed that? Last week that woman from the orange cabin, Evelyn, bawled like a baby when she told me about her cat dying last year. Last year! Then she tells me her husband died four months ago nothing. Not a single tear. I’m tellin you, Ro, you need to use that dog. He’s your ticket to stardom.

My Review:

Laura Drewry has created an extended family comprised of a compelling collection of quirky characters who were also highly likable, clever, witty, hard-working, and relatable everyday people with deep flaws and hard years of parental damage. However, her well-chosen and crafty arrangements of words cast this odd assortment in a surprisingly appealing, endearing, and addictively entertaining manner. I have been fascinated with and adored each and every member of this odd clan, but none no more than the new character of Hope. Hope was inexplicably drawn to the prickly Ronan before they actually met; she had become infatuated with his picture and the limited facts she had been given for her project. Hope was plucky and smart, and when flustered she was prone to spouting totally unrelated and obscure facts and bits of trivia - such as Texas horned toads could shoot blood out of their eyes. But she also had to prove herself on her first big assignment and a show featuring the small and out of the way O’Donnell fishing lodge was going to be a major challenge. I was also highly intrigued by her purse, which was much like Hermione Granger’s magical one as whatever anyone seemed to need, Hope was able to provide by digging around in her cavernous bag. The writing was unfailingly engaging, clever, highly amusing, insightful, and emotively heart-squeezing. Despite the fact that Ms. Drewry has run out of brothers to fix, I still want more.

Did not like the family reconciliation stuff, and until that point I'd been pretty into it. But still, this was a pretty good series, and I'm glad to have read it. I'll check the other out again.

Copy provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an HONEST review.

I just knew that Ronan was going to steal this series away, and by the very last word of this series... I was so very right. The man that held the family together even as a little boy has finally had his heart opened, re-broken and mended.

Ronan, the surly demeanor brother has met his other half. He did not want this, had no time for this and was in No way ready for the little dynamo of Hope the newest producer of the show filming at the Buoys.

I loved that this was such a great slow burn between these two. We got to see them really get to know each other, expose their soft underbellies and develop a lasting friendship and a loving relationship. As typical of contemporary romances, there is a reduced rate of steam factor and insinuated romance between the sheets. Very sweet romance.

I was emotionally rocked at the last 25 percent. What happens to Ronan and well really to all of them was super intense, emotional and breathe stealing. I was mad, upset and shed a few tears. It really made the book for me and I was already loving it. Great way to wrap the brothers stories up. I'm being vague so as not to spoil it, so I highly suggest that you check out this book. You will not be disappointed.

Happy Reading~ Sherry

ARC received from: Netgalley

Rating: 3.5*

Chemistry: Low Boil

One-Sentence Summary: Romance plays out on the set of a reality TV show set in a fishing lodge

Review: And the winner of the "Most idyllic setting of 2016" award definitely has to be Drewry's 'Fishing For Trouble' series. Never has the thought of a fishing lodge in the middle of nowhere been portrayed in a quite so romantic light.

As to this book then I have to say I didn't quite enjoy it as much as the other two in the series. I liked both Hope and Ronan but there was a lot of time jumps and fast-forwarding.

Where the book really became interesting was when the show's "final guest star" turned up and the resulting drama from that (though I thought the way Ronan treated Hope was really unfair!).

And so we end the series with one major question outstanding: seriously how big is Hope's bag to keep all that stuff in it?!

Loved, loved, loved!! I'm a huge fan of this series and I'm sorry to see it end yet I'm so happy to finally have Ronan's story. Laura Drewry did not disappoint with this one! Ronan is grumpy, gruff, and deliciously yummy. Hope and her quirkiness is perfect to balance him and bring a little happiness to his life. The chemistry between these two was sizzling and they won my heart immediately. This story has all the emotions and it's a book you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

** I received an advanced readers copy from Loveswept via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!**

Catch and Release is the third book in the Fishing for Trouble series but can easily be read as a stand alone. Personally I feel readers should read the entire series from the beginning simply because the O'Donnell men are amazing and the Buoys is a spectacular setting.

After reading the first two books and getting to know two of the O'Donell brothers I didn't think it was possible to adore a third brother as much as the first two. Guess what? I was wrong. Ronan was just as easy to fall in love with as Liam and Finn. From his rugged good looks to his family loyalty and even his stubborn streak, I was a goner. I was also a big fan of Hope and I loved how she would shoot off little known random facts whenever she was nervous. It was really cute and something I could totally relate to. The two of them were super cute together.

Although this book was quite short, it dealt with the Maggie the absentee O'Donell mother. So not only did the reader get an extremely satisfying contemporary romance, the mystery (of sorts) behind her disappearance came to a conclusion.

I know I've said it before but the biggest thing for me about this series that made me fall in love with it was the setting. I loved everything about the Buoys. From the location to the family run, simplistic feel of it and the cosy vibe it gave off. I could visualise myself vacationing there and spending time out on the boats. I could see myself sitting in one of the mismatched chairs while having a drink and reading a book or playing a game. The sexy O'Donell brothers were just an added bonus!

For fans of the genre, this series is wonderful and not to be missed. Drewry has an amazing talent of creating really great characters in fabulous settings with stories of substance to back them up. Unfortunately there are no more O'Donell brothers so I fear this may be the last instalment in this series. I can't lie, this makes me a little sad. I'm not ready to leave the Buoys yet!

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the third book in the series - I would recommend that you read them in order, as although each one is about another brother, the timeline is continuous. I have to say that I enjoyed this one so much that I read it in one sitting - finishing at 3am! Something I did slightly regret when the alarm went off, but I wasn't prepared to stop reading.

Ronan has been the deep dark and mysterious brother. We have learned, in previous installments, that he was the eldest brother and the one who took the brunt of his father's anger. He also took on the mantle of adult when their mother left, and sheltered both Liam and Finn from the harshest beatings. When he did leave, he married the wrong person, and spent a long time trying to make it right, before finally divorcing. Now he is back, and whilst he is delighted that his brothers are now happy, he no longer knows how that could apply to him.

Hope is coming to The Buoys to film a new series of popular Fishing TV programme. She does not expect Ronan to press all her buttons, physically and emotionally, and even less that he may feel the same way. We get to watch as the electricity between them forces them to connect. I loved her nervous habit of spouting strange facts, which make Ronan and the reader laugh and dissipate the tension.

We have learned a lot about the men's fishing and tourism business in previous books, but watching it being recorded for the series brings another dimension. Add in a new pet, a hellish tv boss, and an unexpected secret being uncovered, and this is a very engaging read.

I do hope that we get another installment, as there are lots of unanswered questions which I would love to read about soon.

Guys y'all, I love, love, love this series!!!
I adore absolutely everything about the stories of the O'Donnell brothers, I love how tight they are, how they always back each other up, how they never ever let anyone hurt the other if just possible. I love the humor and snark in the dialog, so sharp and smart, yet never hurtful. I love the island, or peninsula, where they live, their lifestyle as fishing guides and hospitality professionals, the ups and downs of the business, and even in that, and especially in that, they stand tightly together. I love what they have made of themselves despite the circumstances with their lives, the childhood they had. And I love how utterly, completely they fall when the right woman comes along.
The stories have just the perfect amount of sweet and sassy, that made me smile and even laugh out loud more times than I can admit. You know you relate to the story when you have your hand over your mouth to try and keep the character from saying what is coming out of their mouth.
The story had so many swoon worthy moments, I was just sighing and smiling as they fumble with their feelings and try to get it right. And the tale had the heartbreaking moments that I felt that ripped my heart open for them, for Ro and his brothers, the tears were falling and I just wanted to reach out and hug them.
Ronan is the fierce protector of the family, the one who has always taken care of others. He has major trust issues, understandably, but his heart is kind and caring, he is passionate and so sexy when he is cooking and baking, yes, he completely stole my heart.
Hope is all alone in the world and her envy of the O'Donnell brothers closeness is palpable. She has a heart of gold, she works hard to make the tv show the best it can be, she blurbs out the funniest facts out of her mouth when she gets nervous, and she is not afraid to stand up for herself if the need arise.
Together Ronan and Hope were flammable. The attraction between them is obvious to the world to see. It is both adorable and steamy, and in their imperfect ways, they are perfect for each other.
When you have a story in your hands that you inhale every word of it, and then you back up because you want to savor the moments and not to get to the end too soon you know you have a winner. The O'Donnell brothers have completely charmed me over the three stories, Catch and Release is going directly to the 'Best of 2017' file. If you read only few romance novels or books in general, a year, I highly recommend you make this, or the whole series, part of your TBR list! I'm so going to miss the gang of the Buoys.

Quick Summary: Now I get it! It all makes sense. The three brothers suffered a great loss, a betrayal of sorts, which led to their hearts being broken by the one who should have protected them most. No wonder they had trust issues.

I liked all of the brothers in this series, but Ronan was my guy. He was strong and yet vulnerable. He was a protector, a provider, a scarred individual who cared...hard. He loved fully and completely. That's why he was hurt so badly by the events that happened to him and his siblings. I could say more, but I'll simply sum it all up by saying that I'm glad he found his forever.

Lastly, two specific things touched my heart in this book. First, I loved how the author touched on depression/mental illness. Second, I appreciated how she addressed death and the loss of loved ones. Well done. Actually, it was beautifully done. Bravo.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

The third and last book in this series is my favourite. I’ve grown madly attached to the O’Donnell family and their little piece of paradise and I’m so sad to see this series end. Ronan’s story is even better than I’d hoped - the gruff and slightly miserable eldest brother meets his match in Hope, the producer of the television series about his family’s fishing resort.

After his mother and later his wife left him, Ronan is terrified of relationships. He can’t trust women and his attraction to Hope leaves him confused and unsettled. Ronan is the quiet brother. Slightly anti-social, he took his responsibilities as the eldest seriously, taking on parenting responsibilities for Finn and Liam when he was far too young. Now that his younger brothers are settled, he is back in his family home, searching for identity and direction.

Hope lost her parents when she was too young. Alone, she tries to be prepared for anything but she isn’t prepared for the big, brooding Irish-Canadian man she needs to film. It is Hope who pushes Ronan. She challenges his aloof detachment and forces him to feel something. In turn, Ronan offers her a glimpse of family, community and a place to belong. The relationship between these two is a wonderful slow, awkward burn. The chemistry is perfect but they are both protective of themselves and their hearts.

Running alongside Hope and Ronan’s story is the story of the O’Donnell family’s struggle to revive their family fishing resort. Their efforts are captured on film by Hope and her team. The family desperately needs the publicity but they are a private family with secrets they want to keep for themselves. More family secrets are revealed in this story and the relationships between the O’Donnells continue to develop. I loved catching up with the two couples from the earlier books and I loved seeing the family dream realised as the resort fills up and the TV show gains viewers. Once again, British Columbia’s beautiful coastal wilderness provides a gorgeous backdrop for the story. I have loved this series and I look forward to more from this author.

Hope and Ronan meet when she comes to the Buoys to shoot their episodes for the season. There is a new format and Ronan isn't happy with the new changes. He blew up on the phone when told of the changes and Hope doesn't quite know what to expect from him when she arrives. Ronan knows he can be quick to lose his temper and promises his brothers that he will try and control himself while filming. Hope and Ronan feel an instant spark but both are leery of relationships, especially with each other. Ronan thinks every woman who loves him will leave, and past life experience has shown him no differently. Hope has no family and longs for one. They both are in search of happiness but are at cross purposes. Ronan just wants to "catch and release" women from now on and Hope wants something lasting. It was sweet to see how they started to get to know each other. It was great how Hope took a huge risk and put herself out there in order to get Ronan to act on his feelings. I liked how, even though Ronan screws up big time, he goes after what he wants. I didn't like how the big twist occurred because it was just so malicious and wrong to do that to the O'Donnell family. I hated Hope taking the brunt of the anger and hurt that all of them were feeling. She didn't deserve it. I really did not like Jessie in this book and found her to be quite meddling. Overall a good book and am grateful to NetGalley for receiving an ARC for an honest review.

Catch and Release

Absolutely addictive. Emotionally raw. You can't help but connect with these characters. You will definitely get hooked on this family of grumpy and stubborn bothers. This is the third book in this series and it is as good as the first two. I truly recommend this book.

Ronan has erected walls around his heart after years of hurt, first by his parents then by his ex-wife. The only people that he lets near his heart are his brothers and their girlfriends. Reluctantly in order to save the family's fishing lodge he agrees to have the TV show Hooked film at their place. When he starts to have feelings for the sexy producer can he trust her with his heart?
Hope landed this field-producer job for the TV show Hooked and no one is getting in her way. Facing the grumpy and protective Ronan will take all of Hope's energy. As she gets to know him can her love be enough for him to trust her after an unexpected turn of events.

‘Catch and Release is Ronan O’Donnell’s motto when it comes to women as much as it is the title of what is the last of Laura Drewry’s ‘Fishing for Trouble series; that much is the oldest of the brothers still struggling with mummy/women-abandonment issues to the point where it has made him gun-shy with everything of the opposite gender.

Hope Seaver is as much of a klutz as she seems to be a babbler of trivia and somehow acts in a way that makes it a little hard to believe she’s a 30-ish year old producer in command of her faculties. But meet she and Ronan do—as an unlikely pair—when the O’Donnells move into reality TV as family drama abounds in this very, very slow-burn romance that bumps along huge potholes when it becomes evident that the boys (especially Ro) haven’t quite yet faced their abandonment crisis head on. The appearance of their achilles’s heel at the end does make for a surprising climax but not an unexpected one, particularly if it’s the only loose end that needs tying up for the series’s resolution.

Drewry’s writing is charming as always and her books are always easy to read; I didn’t find myself as engrossed as I was in the previous 2 books, but this is nonetheless a solid offering and a pretty good closure for an unusual series.

I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

We head back to The Buoys for Ronan O'Donnell's love story in the latest and final book in Laura Drewry's Fishing for Trouble series. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I suggest reading the first two books to get a more in depth understanding of the boys and their backstory.

I'm a big fan of this series and Ronan's story did not disappoint. The eldest O'Donnell brother was not an easy guy to love! His protective nature was on full display and led to some classic confrontations with Hope, the TV producer who was filming a reality show to promote their family fishing lodge. Things between the pair begin to thaw and they develop a really nice friendship before they give in to their attraction for each other. But answers to some questions that had been swirling throughout this series are answered in this final book and Hope and Ronan's love were part of the wreckage left behind when truths were revealed. It was tough to read, but necessary for the story to play out.

This was a great finale to a great series. I left off the last star because I believe Hope forgave Ronan a little too quickly after the big twist, but otherwise I loved this book and I recommend it to all romance readers!

Reading this felt like putting on a warm dressing gown and a comfy pair of slippers. It felt like coming home. The Buoys are such 'real' characters, down-to-earth and so believable. I love a book where the protagonists are normal and could be the person next door (or me!)

Ronan is the grumpy brother but we all know all he needs is a good woman. So will Hope be that good woman - she also is an immensely likeable, generous and warm-hearted woman. I really liked that they hero and heroine were mid 30's, rather than young 20 somethings (and just as a hint to all authors, mid 40's and 50's are good too!). The attraction between Ro and Hope is there all along and it is fun watching the two of them bumble along, stuttering and throwing out random trivia in liu of knowing what to day to each other.

I liked the alternating POV's, which were written in the third person, as this helps me connect with both characters. The writing style is really pleasant, the plot is well thought through and travels at a good pace, the supporting characters are entertaining and the entire book is just a pleasure to read.

Big Brother Ronan is hiding out: hiding out from commitment, his feelings, and love. Nonetheless, he doesn’t shirk from his responsibilities as he and his brothers keep the Buoys afloat by signing up as reality tv fodder. He didn’t plan on connecting with comely producer Hope, but she’s hard to ignore with her abundant bag of tools and fun facts, plus she’s one of the few people on the island he’s not related to. He may have been out of the love game for a bit, but with a little push from the resident Ms. Fix It, he tries not to be a dick and make a love connection.
Catch and Release by Laura Drewry is just as delightful as the rest of the Fishing for Trouble series and this delve into what makes Ronan O’Donnell tick is a pleasant ride. Ronan is charming yet unassuming and his love interest, Hope, is too. They are the kind of characters that keep to themselves, but once you get to know them, they bloom and come alive. It takes a minute for things to heat up between Ronan and Hope and that is where this story shines. Lingering glances and silly banter make for an unconventional courtship (although no one least of all RoHo would call it that) that delivers a sensual, slow-building heat. However, it takes a bit of a push (i.e., Jessie from Lured In) and some fresh baked cookies to seal the deal. Ronan and Hope try to keep their shipping on the DL. Small islands do not lend themselves to secrecy, and their growing relationship is soon out on the table, but their emotions are not. They keep their feelings to themselves even as they try to pretend it is just a fling. Romances are made for instant connections, but Catch and Release must refer to the quickness into which they catch feelings of the big L variety. It’s not entirely unbelievable, but there isn’t enough description to be in love after the first bang (looking at you Hope). Ronan is a bit cooler, but he’s not exactly the most open to commitment in the first place.
Commitment is a bit of an issue for all the O’Donnells given their family dynamic, but more so for Ronan as the oldest. He carries his family tragedy to heart, and the reality cameras don’t hesitate to use it. The third act drama is a catalyst for would be betrayal, soul searching and happy ever afters. It loses some steam once the season ends and the cameras quiet. The ending feels rushed and the outcome conveniently tidy. However, if a perfect HEA told with grace and sweetness, you can’t go wrong with Catch and Release.

Catch and Release is the third, and I assume, the final book (as this is about the last of three brothers) in the Fishing For Trouble Series. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in the series and I was looking forward to reading Ronan's story. The setting is a remote fishing lodge, the Bouys, in British Colombia that is owned by the three O'Donnell brothers, Although part of a series, the book can be read as a stand alone, but I much prefer knowing the background of the others in the story.

The O'Donnalls have been struggling to keep the lodge open but things are looking up after they were featured on an episode of a TV fishing show last season. Bookings are up now and they've been offered a contract for the whole season this year, except they learn that now the show has been changed from strictly fishing to a reality show based format.

This show is what brings Hope Seaver, an up and coming producer, to the Bouys. I liked Hope, she's bubbly and cheerful yet at times endearingly awkward. She has a nervous habit of spouting totally absurd trivia about random things and carries around a bag that has everything but the kitchen sink. We learn that she, like Ronan and his brothers, has experienced tragedy in her past, and she still carries the effects.

I liked that there was a slow build to Ronan and Hope's relationship, rather than 'instant love'. I really didn't foresee what happened in the final episode, but once I realized what was going on I knew that he was going to hold Hope responsible. There is a lot of turmoil and emotion and the story deals with some hard-hitting issues.

I give it 5 stars and I think Catch and Release was a wonderful wrap up to the Fishing For Trouble series. I would recommend it to contemporary romance junkies, especially if you like a hero who is a slightly damaged alpha male, a heroine who is a strong sassy girl who knows what she wants, and a setting that is out of the ordinary.

I received an ARC copy from NetGalley in return for my honest review.

#3 in the Fishing for Trouble romance series

Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I just love this series about a small fishing camp run by 3 brothers and their wives. The setting is isolated, so the focus is on the characters. It was nice to finally get to know the third brother in the family while still sharing a lot of time with Liam and Finn. Ronan is the hot-headed older brother who has been disappointed and disillusioned with the women in his life, so he's gun shy, using the "catch-and-release" system of one-night stands. Hope, the TV producer for the Hooked reality show that is being filmed there, is cute and funny and also pretty leery about relationships. But, of course, their mutual attraction overcomes their misgivings, and the romance is predictable but very nice. There's a lot of drama at the end with the culmination of a long-standing open issue. I shouldn't have been surprised about it, but I was--and it had all the excitement and emotion that I could have wanted. Very nice series set in an interesting location, with excellent characters. A definite winner.

This is the first book I have read in this series and didn’t have a hard time moving right along with the story line, although I will be going back and reading the other 2 books and this was a great read.

Ronan the standoffish, quiet but outspoken person when need be. He feels responsible for the Bouys in the situation it is now. He has been burned before and is not willing to open up to love and let people in. Until Hope and her show shake up his life little and make him start to realize not everyone will hurt or burn you.
Hope is looking to make a name for herself in TV so this show on the O’Donnell family needs to be the best, but she knows the obstacle that will be in her way, Ronan. But when she sees the handsome, soft, kind, gentle man he is under his rough exterior she is bound to let him in.

Love the book and the characters, especially the phrases that come out of Hope when she is nervous and the dog plays a great role as well. Will make you laugh and cry, just a great romance book for a rainy day read

Catch and Release is a lesson in delayed gratification. The story moved pretty slowly in the beginning (so much so that I put it down after a chapter or two and picked it back up about a month later). Despite the slow start, I'm so glad that I didn't write this one off! If you've been enjoying this series from the beginning, you know that this is Ronan's story. Ro suffered the most when his dad was drinking and then went on to suffer more during his failed marriage. If anyone deserves a HEA it's Ronan. Hope, the heroine, had wonderful parents, but now she's all alone and, of course, just what Ro needs.

Ro's family is full of hard workers, jokester and busy bodies but it's all done in love. The family provides an opportunity for you to experience all the feels -- laughter, anguish, frustration, joy and true camaraderie. If you're searching for a read with a nice round hero, this is perfect.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGallery, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

4 1/2 Stars! Ronan is the oldest O'Donnell brother and has been the protector of his 2 younger brothers all his life. Protecting them from their mother's depression and the drunken fists of their father. Even though his brothers are all grown up with significant others ... he still wants to protect them. Hope grew up in a loving home, but her parents were killed in a car accident when she was 18 and she has been looking for another "home" ever since. Hope takes on producing the TV show "Hooked" that is being filmed at The Buoys fishing lodge owned by the O'Donnell brothers. The attraction that Ronan and Hope feel for each other is undeniable and they eventually give in to their feelings. But their story is full of twists and turns that will make your heart hurt ... not only for Hope and Ronan, but for all the brothers. A great conclusion to a great series!

Hope Seaver just got the job of her life, as a producer for a reality TV show on a fishing locality called the Buoys. Owned by three brothers, Liam, Finn and Ronan O'Donnell, this a break for them too, their lodge has been suffering from not enough visitors the last few seasons, which is the reason they agreed to do this. Well Ronan did not want any part of this circus that was going to descend on them.
Hope knew this information coming in, so she made sure she would try to smooth things out to get Ronan onboard. He knows that the reason the fishing resort has been suffering is because of him, so he has to do this for them.
As much as he wants to fall for her honesty or beauty, Ronan won't let himself fall for another woman again.
I loved this story about second chances but most of all believing that it could become a reality. This is a wonderful third book in the series.
