This Creatus Series Boxed Set includes the complete five-book series!

For four thousand years, creatus have concealed themselves from the humans who hunted them almost to extinction. Unwittingly, one creatus will endanger them all ...

As with most of his family, Derrick Ashton knows his future and what position he's destined to fill within his unique society. Everything changes, however, when he breaks one of his family's strictest laws and falls in love -- with a human.

In his quest to protect the woman he can never have, a twist of faith propels him into a new role that will cause dissension among his family and endanger the anonymity that they've spent thousands of years protecting.

Now, he will risk everything to save the girl from humans and his own kind. The one thing he can't save her from, however ... is herself.

The Creatus series is not your normal paranormal story ... it's a realistic romantic mystery based on the myths you've heard your entire life. Prepare to believe.

Reader Profile: First and foremost, I am a reader. From the moment I could hold a book, I've been fascinated with the written word. I enjoy almost everything, but lean toward romantic-suspense and magical realism. If you're looking for poor reviews, you won't find them here. The reason...life's too short to read bad books. If a book isn't at least three stars halfway through, I stop reading, and therefore, don't feel as though I have the right to review it. That's my policy! Please don't send me requests, though. If you are one of my cyber friends, I will eventually find you. :)

Author Profile: I write stories that overflow with romance, mystery, suspense, a hint of paranormal sometimes, and of course, tragedy. After all, what would a great story be without a tragic event setting the stage? All of my novels are sensual but not erotic, gripping but not graphic, and will hopefully make you cry, laugh, love, and hope.

Really great series

Wow, this was one heck of a good series. Great characters they were dynamic, interesting, grew with the story, they were like real people. I was enamored with this series, I couldn’t stop listening to it, everything I did, I was listening. This was a first for me with this Author, but I will be reading more from her.

I usually don't read a series a book after the other because the author might feel the need to explain everything again and again. I didn't get this feeling with this series. Ok, now that this is out of the way, let's go on with the story.

Creatus's love is stronger than human's. Once they fall for another, it's for life and they will slowly die if their mate dies. Each book follows a new couple that will fall or might have fallen for each other already. However, each also gets the readers deeper into the main story: Creatus rogues who want the world to know about them. Who's behind it and exactly why? I thought it was well built for the final show down.

Couples: It's always easy to figure out who would be the next couple. I'm not sure if it was a good thing or not since it made some things a bit predictable. I won't name them so as not to spoil anything, which is hard since I won't be able to name my favorite couple. All I will say is that it's the couple following Derrick's, so not the prequel nor the first book, which are about him but the second book. To be honest, Kristina grows on the readers but she starts as a not so likeable brat. Still I hate that while we still see her in the other books she's kind of pushed out of the story.

Story: I love that it has aliens. I am an alien fan, all that relates to aliens. So, Creatus are aliens who came to Earth a long time ago. They hid among humans. Live their life as humans as much as they could. They are stronger and faster and have longer lifespan than Earthlings, so stories have sprouted from people catching a glimpse at them doing extraordinary stuff: Folklore such as vampires, or superheroes and the likes came to life from it. The idea was plausible, interesting, and well done.

I would recommend to fans of aliens and vampires. But be aware that while these Creatus are aliens, I would call this urban fantasy more than science fiction.

DIVINELY ENTERTAINING !!!
Title: Creatus Series
Author: Carmen DeSousa
Designation: Five Book Collection, Compilation of They Exist, Creatus, Creatus Rogue, Creatus Eilodon and Creatus Animus
Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited
My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS
Loved, loved, loved it! The Creatus Series is my first time reading the work of Carmen DeSousa but it certainly won't be my last. I began my adventure with DeSousa after downloading Creatus, the first book of the series, when it was offered as a free download on Amazon. I enjoy discovering new authors and what better way to discover new talent without breaking the bank than with a free read, right? I started reading on a Saturday morning and within five minutes, I knew I'd struck gold! I raced back to Amazon and discovered Books Two and Three, Creatus: Rogue and Creatus: Eidolon, had already been released. And the icing on the cake, they were both available under the Kindle Unlimited program. SWEET! By Sunday evening, I had devoured all three books of the series as well as the prequel novella, They Exist, which was included as a bonus in the first book. Folks, here's the real kicker; I loved this series so much, after reading them under Kindle Unlimited, I actually went back to Amazon and purchased the box set containing the first four books for my permanent library. If that isn't a true recommendation, I don't know what is! Ready for a sweet surprise??? Desousa is automatically updating the Box Set with Book Five: Creatus Animus, the final book of the series, as soon as it's released. So, if you bought the box set before the release date of Creatus Animus, all you have to do is contact Amazon customer service and they will replace your copy with the file that includes ALL FIVE BOOKS! Jackpot! Now, please allow me to state that this is actually more like a serial since the books should be read in sequence. Although the author does include a fair amount of backstory in each book, I recommend reading the books in order. These stories are not meant to be read as standalone reads. Although each book primarily features a specific couple, there is an interconnected story arc running through the entire series with a recurring cast of characters. I found all of the books to be exciting, thrilling, imaginative, original, suspenseful, romantic, seductive, exceptionally well crafted and edited. The narratives are all beautifully written in the third person with multiple points of view. My favorite! The dialogue is smart, well executed and flows effortlessly. But my favorite component of this remarkable saga is the magnificent cast of characters. They are unique, intriguing, well developed, engaging, relatable and sexy as sin. I not only fell head over heels for the protagonists of each book but I also loved the masterfully depicted antagonists. Nothing is as it seems! Be very careful which antihero you choose to hate; he may very well turn out to be a hero in disguise! And vice versa, of course! Oh my! DeSousa demonstrates her talent as a gifted storyteller by skillfully combining every single one of these elements to craft a masterful supernatural saga filled to the brim with fantasy, danger, drama, action, betrayal, heartache, undeniable love, and enough spine-tingling suspense, shocking plot twists and perplexing mystery to blow your mind! And just when you think you have it all figured out -WHAM - DeSousa hits you with another surprising and totally unexpected piece of the puzzle. Folks, this definitely ISN'T your ordinary romance. This is an extraordinary, suspense filled whodunnit with a delicious side of tantalizing romance - without the calories! OMG! Who knew you could have a sexy romance without the sex? Obviously, Carmen DeSousa did since she just pulled it off magnificently! Once I started reading, I could not stop! I was immediately drawn into the story, glued to my seat, completely lost in time with the hours passing seemingly as minutes while my heart pounded in my chest. It was bloody brilliant! So sit back, my lovelies, get comfy and prepare to meet the Creatus, an alien species who have been living in plain sight among the humans of Earth for the past four thousand years. And you know all those supernatural beings based on myth, well, they just might be real and they may be creatus. Oh my!

This is not a book report nor do I give spoilers in my comments. What I attempt to do is give my humble opinion on the merits of the book itself. When rating and reviewing a book, I always ask myself several questions. First, what did I love about this story? As I stated earlier, all the books were beautifully written, well crafted and well edited with gorgeous covers. The world created by DeSousa for this series was imaginative as well as intelligent. It may have been fantasy but it was totally believable in the realms of science fiction and the supernatural. Oh, did I forget to mention the science fiction part? Well shucks, it's like Donnie and Marie Osmond with their little bit country and little bit rock 'n roll. This series is a little bit paranormal, little bit supernatural, little bit fantasy and a little bit science fiction. It's a divinely delicious all you eat buffet! And the characters were unlike anything I've ever experienced in a previous book. They were unique but fascinating and completely relatable. I cried for them, empathized with them and even laughed at some of their antics. The narratives of each book were fast paced but comfortable. At no point in any of the books was I ever bored or distracted. The pages as well as the time literally flew. I was so engrossed in the story, I even refused to answer my phone. My second question is always, what didn't I like about this story? Truthfully, not a darn thing! Well, other than the fact I didn't want it to end but isn't that true with all great stories? I think so. Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am for a wide range of readers including young and mature adult readers. There are a few curse words which I could probably count on one hand for all three books. There is some violence but it's NOT graphically portrayed and has NO gory details. The book is romantic but not erotic. There are NO explicit sex scenes but there are dreamy love scenes. And this is one thing that really surprises me since I generally go for books with more erotic romance and often find myself bored out of my mind without at least a few steamy sex scenes but not so with this series. It never actually occurred to me until I began writing this review. Fourth, will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! At the end of Book Three, the author offered a sneak peek at the fourth book of the series, Creatus: Animus which has since been released and is included in the new box set or available as a separate purchase. Please believe me when I say, I rushed to DeSousa's web page to sign up for her newsletter so I'll know when she has a new release. And finally, was I entertained? Oh lawd, yes! I was completely captivated and totally entertained! I'm a DeSousa fan for life! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

I knew from the beginning I was going to enjoy this series, that's why I bought the boxed set...not least due to the great writing style, which drew me in immediately, and kept me there until the end of these four stories.

The premise is taken from myth and expanded in such a why as to become realistic and believable. The characters are excellently detailed giving the story a familiar feel, as it moves to the next in the series. It is full of action and mystery, with twists and suspense enough that it didn't become obvious and inevitable.

I don't give spoilers, but will say that if you love wonderful writing, a great plot, action and adventure - this set is for you...I am looking forward to the next in the series, I hope it doesn't take too long.

I love the Creatus books. The first 4 books are full of action, suspense, mystery, intrigue, romance, treachery. It's a wonder to read. I got lost in their world and found myself wanting more.

I'm excited for the 5th book to come out. Great series. I would highly recommend this to any fantasy reader.

Awesome series

A new twist on an old tale. Creatus have been inhabiting the earth longer than man and came from another planet. Similar to humans in appearance, but also showing likenesses to the mythological vampires, they can jump building in one leap, are stronger than humans, and live much longer lives, giving the immortal tales an origin.

Some things about creatus that are interesting- they cannot eat cooked foods- which can actually makes them deathly ill or even kill them. They have both good and bad members- they have lived in secret, alongside humans for centuries- they also started the superhero rumors back when they 'watched' the humans and protected them against their own species who were evil. They also have a physical-almost chemical- reaction when they meet their life mate, or soul mate- called 'falling' and once a creatus falls, it is for life- they cannot live without their mates and will die for them or die without them.

This series was packed from the prequel to the last book. Each book focused on different members of the main families; however, the previous books' characters continued to make leading appearances throughout the series.

I definitely enjoyed reading this series and recommend it for any that enjoy supernatural/paranormal/Sci-fi type books!

Just wow. I was not sure what I was getting into when I started out reading this series but I could not seem to put these books down long enough to sleep. I was surprised and wondering more about their background but as the books progressed more and more is revealed. The story flows and I shed tears on many parts not understanding but again it comes together to create an amazing story. I am anxious to hear more about this world of love, devotion, death and second chances. Amazing read for sure.

Why did it have to end?!?!

Fantastic series. Sad that it's the end of this very creative world that is set up beautifully. Loved all of the characters and seriously, I feel there is so much more on theses characters and race of supernatural that could be written. Loved this box set. 5 stars!!

Very interesting

Its a different kind of paranormal story for me but I have to say I really enjoyed reading this set. I don't remember an errors in the writing, words misspelled or forgotten. It is a "clean" series i would let my tween daughters read. So that being said I would recommend this series to any one loving to read....especially of supernatural.

This series is excellent. The author takes some common myths and legends and makes very believable stories based on them. This isn't some modern retelling of Dracula; these are original and unique stories that are quite enjoyable to read.

I loved this series. I bought it a few years ago for my e-reader when it went on sale, but always found a reason not to commit to reading the whole thing. Finally, I had reread all of my favorite books and needed a long series to read while flying for 11 hours so I went for it and I'm so happy I did.

The main complaint I saw was that the characters "fall" too fast. I really enjoyed that part. I feel like writers spend so much time developing love stories and it wastes time that could be spent developing the plot. I'm in a relationship that developed quickly (and we are still just as happy nearly a decade and kids later) so I appreciate when we can skip the relationship drama and enjoy an established couple going through something together without a will they or won't they storyline

My only complaint is the ending of the last book. My e-reader shows the page you are on out of how many pages there are and I looked down to see only 20 pages when we were right in the middle of big revelations that needed much more development (if you ask me). I wish she would have drawn out the last couple of chapters another 50 or so pages so the end of the last book didn't feel so rushed.

Big issues

I wanted to like this series but could not get more than half way through the second book. So at first we hear that being with a human isn't allowed and they can't fall. Then suddenly in the second book the H gets permission to be with the h and she is expected to fall. So yeah, that made no sense at all. Is it allowed or isn't it? Can humans fall or not? This wasn't the worst of it though. Our h had no redeeming qualities. She was a selfish party girl. I just didn't like her and every time this guy talked about how bright, intelligent and wonderful she was, I wondered if he was delusional. Then when they started seeing each other she g it catty and childish and I just never felt the undeniable attraction tion between them. The author tried to tell us what they thought and felt, but she didn't ha e the ability to make us feel it ourselves. Show don't tell is something this author doesn't grasp and I was tired of reading a story that left me feeling empty.

It was hard to rate. The best part of the story(ies) is the fact that the author has created a whole new being. And this being helps to explain some of the possible myths/creatures in books. It's not exceptionally written but it's good enough to have kept me to want to read more. The romantic pairings were a little predictable but that was OK. Interesting community that the author built.

This Is A Replay Of History

This series is about the human races' intolerance for others different than themselves Creatus have been on earth as long as humans and never tried to harm them. But as soon as humans found out that there was a species that was stronger and faster than them, they tried to eliminate them. This is a entertaining and interesting read.

Interesting Twist

Lol it has been an interesting book set to read, the play on the mythical history, as they say, where there is smoke there’s fire, all myths had to have some spark of truth in them at one point it’s only the distance of time from the original point that truth changes to myth.
I’m glad there is a new book set coming out to follow up on this story :-)
