This book catches us up with Gail an Rashid a few years later. Their love is stronger than ever bu their are still some residual issues from their previous marriages that cause issues. No marriage is perfect and they do go through rough patches but family and friends are committed to helping them stay together and work out their problems. Gail and Rashid have three children and are pregnant with their fourth child when a rough patch is hit. There are still residual issues/trigger from that come to the surface and surprise both of them. However, angry they are with each other they are still in love with one another and hate the tension as a result of their problem.
We are brought up speed with Crystal and Gail. They have repaired their friendship and Crystal has matured and is now remarried and pregnant. Things are going well and she is a help to Gail. Greg is now married but still good friends with Gail and Rashid. His life has changed and is moving forward. Greg and Rashid have become friends and it's Greg that helps Rashid see that he was hasty and out of order with some of his comments.
Rashid and Gail are able to work things out and are stronger for it. Their love continues to blossom and grow. They both learned to talk to one another and not make decisions that effect and affect their family. Additionally, this book brought closure and answered a lot of my questions after the first book. It is really well written and intriguing. Thanks Zena Wynn for the closure.
I enjoyed the first book, ' The Question' even though I wanted her to be with Greg. I was not and I'm still not a fan of Rashid. That's why after reading book two, I'm not sure what it was about. We already knew that had a very intense sex life and Rashid was an alpha male so nothing was new. Don't understand why Angel was the only child that had a god father and why Greg didn't want to talk to the other children. This could've been part of the Epilogue for the first book. After reading I just felt like I was left hanging. I was expecting something new like an old lover or adversary to come back and cause problems and that didn't happen so that's why I'm rating this with three stars because I can't give it 2 1/2 stars.
This is a very short follow up to The Question. We find Rashid and Gail after several years of marriage and expecting their fourth child. Rashid is still controlling and Gail is still a strong assertive woman. They have some conflict about an amniocentesis test. We catch up with Crystal (why.?) and Greg (I still think he needs his own story). I really enjoyed reading about this complicated couple.
It was good to catch up with these couples as they are so intertwined with each other. Seeing how their family has grown and how they fight and support one another is refreshing.
What can I say? This book has a lot of twists and turns, the characters are something else too. Some are selfish some are egotistical, some are just too nice. Lots of steam lot's of love. This was very entertaining!
Sometimes you want to make sure someone made it happily ever after glad they are doing well. Thanks for this update it’s what my heart needed loved their story
I loved this book, The Question, when it first came out. And I like this final chapter. If you haven't read The Question you should buy it now. This is an intense unconventional love story with one of the best HEAs I have ever read.
I pretty much begged for this follow-up so I'll say Thank You to Zena for taking the time to write it and publish it. Now, however, I'll say this about the story which wasn't. I'm sad about this short story. Why do this to beloved characters? Why give this to the fans of those characters? Fan bases are just as loyal and invested in characters as the authors who write them. Authors know this and often times throw us a bone into the lives of those beloved characters. Usually not like this. It was like a date you've looked forward to for months and then that date cancelled on you at the last minute and leaves you trying to figure out what you can do since you're all dressed up with no where to go. I think this was more an epilogue that probably should have been released as "a peak into the lives of" on Zena's website. Disappointed I may be but I was still happy to see old friends.
I always enjoy reading follow up stories. After reading The Question a number of years ago, I did wonder what happened to Gail, Crystal, Rashid and Greg. This was a great look at these characters. While I do not find the relationship Gail and Rashid have with Crystal to be realistic. After everything she put them through, I do not truly believe anyone is that forgiving. I especially enjoyed the relationship Rashid had with his children.
When I read the first book I thought it was awesome...and when the author did this follow up on them I was excited...although it was very short I thought it was good.
