O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just...shocked. This book has left me literally SPEECHLESS. GAAH!!! It's DEFINITELY the BEST one out of ALL the warriors series so far. AAGGH!!!!!! ITS SOO EXCITING AND SUSPENSEFUL AND FULL OF MYSTERY AND THRILL AND MURDER AND SHOCK!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't put it down, and during the last scenes, my heart was thumping crazily in my chest, and I was aware of the blood roaring past my ears, and I felt like I was experiencing what was going on. OMG!!!!!!!

**SPOILERS BELOW**

OMG!!!!! I KNEW IT ALL ALONG!!!!! From the very first book of the Power of Three, I KNEW that the three kits weren't Squirrelflight's!! I PREDICTED IT!! AND I WAS RIGHT!!!! OMG!!! Well, I thought that just Jayfeather and possibly Hollyleaf were, I didn't think Lionblaze wasn't Squirrelflight's too. BUT STILL!!! OMG!!! It annoys me that we didn't find out WHO their REAL mother is, since I want to confirm my suspicion of Leafpool and Crowfeather being their real parents!! OMG!!

AND I KNEW THAT ASHFUR WAS THE ONE WHO HELPED HAWKFROST!!! I KNEW THAT HE WAS THE ONE WHO LED FIRESTAR TO THE TRAP AT THE END OF SUNSET!!! I KNEW IT!! AND I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!! XD Well, I didn't suspect it was because he wanted to hurt Squirrelflight. I thought it was just because he was furious at Brambleclaw for stealing Squirrelflight away, so he got revenge-crazy and did it. BUT STILL!!! OMG!!!

Wow, Ashfur's seriously messed up. He loved Squirrelflight, and then now he's all like "I WANT TO HURT YOU AND TEAR YOU APART FROM INSIDE!!!" Um..okay. No comment. Except for that fact that I hate him. XD

ANYWAYS...

OMG! OMG !OMG !OMG OMG! OMG !OMG OMG!!!!! AND THEN WHEN ASHFUR DIED...WHOA!!! I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!! AT ALL!!! And now I think that Squirrelflight MUST have killed him. It all fits. She was missing before the gathering- around the time when he'd been killed. And when she came back, her excuse wasn't very strong. AND- she was covered in water and mud!! AND ASHFUR WAS FOUND IN A STREAM, WET AND COVERED IN MUD!! See the connection?!?! SHE MUST HAVE KILLED HIM!!! SHE MUST HAVE DONE IT SO THAT HE WOULDN'T SPILL HER SECRET AT THE GATHERING!!! Because she and the three apprentices were the only ones that KNEW what Ashfur was going to do, therefore the only ones who had a reason to kill him! But none of the three killed him, because we're IN their Point of View, so we KNOW they didn't do it!!

Squirrelflight HAS to have done it!! She has a motive, and all the evidence points to straight to her. Still...it's hard for me to imagine Squirrelflight killing someone. I mean, it's SQUIRRELFLIGHT, for crying out loud!! SQUIRRELFLIGHT!! We've been inside her head, in her point of view, in the New Prophecy series. We know that she's a kind person. She doesn't go killing people, EVEN if she has a motive to!!

But I had this theory...maybe she killed Ashfur by accident. Maybe she sought him out before the gathering because she wanted to try again to convince him not to tell the secret, and then maybe he got fed up so he attacked her, and then maybe Squirrelflight was trying to defend herself and maybe accidentally got carried away and killed him!! At least, that's what I'd LIKE to believe, if Squirrelflight was the one who killed him. But it could be someone else entirely...I have no idea...*siiigh*

I JUST CANT BELEIVE ALL THESE THINGS HAPPENED!!!! 0.0

**SPOILER OVER**

Well, so...WOW. WOW. WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS WAS AMAZING AND AMAZING AND AMAZING AND BY FAR THE BEST WARRIORS BOOK EVER WRITTEN, EVEN MORE THAN OUTCAST AND SUNSET!!! OMG!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!

I finished! This one was pretty good, I liked the plot twist about the three and how they were part of the Tribe of Rushing Water. I really liked the chapters when Jayfeather went back to the Tribe and was Jay's Wing, although I couldn't understand how he had fallen in love with Half Moon as fast as he did. That was kind of unrealistic. Speaking of Jayfeather, he's becoming more likeable every book. I think he's my favorite now. Lionblaze actually didn't act evil in this book, other than his bloddy dreams about killing Heathertail, which were...intersting. I think he's done with Tigerstar. I actually liked him this book. On the other hand, Hollyleaf just gets more and more annoying with her obsession with the Warrior code. During some of the chapters I wanted to shake her and go "YOU CAN BREAK THE WARRIOR CODE SOMETIMES Y'KNOW!!" I think she'll turn evil, but that's just me. Oh, and how can I forget the not one, but TWO giant secrets told in this book?! And right next to each other! Wow, that was a really great chapter! I hope the next one is like that the whole book.

OMG! I knew that squirelflight wasnt the mother of the three! And what the heck? I didnt even know Ashfur was going threw that pain and now i feel sorry for him. He shouldn't have died, but i think if he would have told the cats about squirelflight not being their mother then all hell would break loose! The warriors series is getting a kind of...idk...darkness to it. Like the cats are becoming more...i dont know how to describe it but they are changing...and i kind of like it. It shows a whole knew life to warriors and how some things just dont end happy. The cats are changing radically and im soooooooooooo dieing to have the next book! This is the best book in the latest series so far!!!

BREATHTAKING! Oh wow, I really, really liked this one. The mysterious Sol promises to teach the three about the prophecy, but proves that he cannot be trusted. A clan loses faith in Starclan and Holyleaf, Lionblaze and Jaypaw need to use their brains and bravery to convince the clans not to loose faith in Starclan. Greencough spread through the camp like wildfire and Firestar gets really ill. Jaypaw is shown where the catmint is in a dream, but needs Lionblaze to help him retrieve it. But there is something stopping Lionblaze helping his brother and his clan. His hatred for Heathertail soon turns into agony as he sees himself killing her in a dream. This dream haunts him and he wonders how he could do such a thing to the cat he once loved. Jaypaw is transported into the past and uncovers more answers about the ancient cats and the three's destiny. The end of this book is just AMAZING and really makes you gasp, my mouth literally dropped open when one cat revealed a MAJOR secret! The ending is SO suspenseful and there is one cat who is still really angry and hurt about the past and is on a mission to destroy the one who hurt him. Page 173. is really emotional and written so well, you see the pain a certain cat was put through and he he is determined for revenge. The truth leads to many questions which will turn this book into an exciting mystery and leaving you craving for more. Cats haven't been completely honest and the death of a certain cat is just the beginning of one cat being corrupted by hatred because of the lies of so many...

For the full impact you really have to read all the warrior books before this (especially the new prophecy). This has to be my favourite book from the power of three arc (but I also really loved sunrise, as it answers many more questions and the decisions of the three shape their destiny).
THERE ALL AMAZING!! GO WARRIORS!!

A bit repetitive. The plot, that is. I still keep reading it so it must be doing something right! I think it's more than anything imagining my own kittens having such a life - yet my little darlings have hardly ever left the garden and they seem pretty happy! We pet lovers are dreadfully keen to anthopomorphise our fur babies, no? ; )

Sehr, sehr cooler Band.

Please do not read this until after you have read "Long Shadows" ... !!!

I wish I could rate this as 4.5 stars. There was a series of events that just seemed to be unprovoked as well as unpredicted. I really feel that this was the "great set-up" for the end of the PO3 series. Mostly, I was tremendously confused with the unwarranted co-attack on Thunderclan by Wind- and Riverclans ... and even more surprised that Shadowclan agreed to assist.

I felt the development of Jaypaw into a much wiser, more mature presence as he has learned to use his gifts with more grace, humility, and benevolence. I was very intrigued by his dream as Jay's Wing and how his great wish to meet the Ancient Cats was indeed granted. It seems that there are cats in Starclan, among the ancients (such as Rock), and now in the Tribe, who have great affinity for Jaypaw ... as if Jaypaw has had impact on the ancients, clans, and tribes well beyond his place in time. I was also very pleased to see him achieve his true Medicine Cat name in this episode. However, through the events of this book, I have come to be very sad for Falling Leaves ...

For Lionblaze, I was struck most intensely by the authors exploration of the dichotomy between love and hate. It may be a fine line between these two emotions, but often one can turn to the other as pride too often demands self-preservation over the openness between risking for the one you love. Both Lionblaze and Heatherpaw display this clearly within this episode. When Heatherpaw expresses that she is not afraid of Lionblaze, I feel it is truly because she instinctively knows deep down that he deeply loves her ... and she takes the opportunity to hurt him with words and accusations that cut deep into his confidence.

As for Hollyleaf, she still plugs along under the guise of her Warrior Code. However, the events that transpire during the storm cause her to question all that she is ... or thought that she was. It is yet another dichotomy of life that the authors have shared in that self-doubt can cloud our judgements regardless of how committed or secure we may be with our pathway! Brilliantly expressed!

We all knew that it was just a matter of time before another plague, this time disease, struck our clan. However, as always, Firestar has an amazing solution and demonstrates once again that a strong, competent leader sacrifices and places the good of the group ahead of personal gain. Use of the Two Leg Place for a healing "facility" was very well conceived.

As far as the cooperative ruse developed between Tawnypelt's kits (and I am surprised that Hollyleaf hasn't considered those three kits to be "kin of Firestar's kin") to convince Blackstar to abandon Sol's proselytizing and return to the Warrior Code and Star Clan ... another brilliant event. However, the admission Squirrelflight reveals as Ashfur confronts her and our three heroes while the forest fire threatens to push them off the cliff ... well, let me just say that I am intrigued but also perplexed. And what happened to Sol? I anticipate his untimely return in the final book!

There is a great deal of activity happening throughout "Long Shadows" but at time it seems to be somewhat disjointed and confusing. I MUST know what befell Ashfur ... I had forgotten his treachery from "The New Prophesy" series ... and I suspect that Leafpool will play a large role in the motive ... which will allow the love within Lionblaze to be more completely understood ... but as has been the case so often before, I am probably not even close with these predictions! I shall see as I am preparing to begin reading the final episode in "The Power of Three" momentarily ...

" As the sick cats curled up in there nest, Jaypaw heard the sound of racing footsteps drawing closer. What now? He picked up sandstorm's scent as she halted by the bramble screen."Leafpool, come quickly!" she gasped."Firestar is ill!!" Thunder clan is suffering a outbreak of green cough and Firestar is ill. What will thunder clan do without there great leader's helps?
The outbreak of green cough expands rapidly and soon enough, two medicine cat alone are not enough that they have to rely on the help of Brightenheart and her short experience of being a medicine cat assistant and with no herbs left the pressure is on Jaypaw, Leafpool and Brightenheart to stop the infection of all cats and to cure the sick, most of all Firestar. Then Firestar make the choice to let all the sick cats stay in the two-leg place and that's not all he tells Leafpool to teach him about herbs and he will take care of the sick cats while the medicine cats help the clan so that they don't get sick too. Firestar weakens till he looks seriously ill, even thought all the cats want him to be save he still want to stay till all his clan mates are cured and he tells them " I have lives to loos but my clan mates don't". Firestar's condition deteriorates and bad becomes worst and he can't move and is having trouble with breathing, all the sick cats surround him and hope for the best. Will he die without leave his clan mates or die abandoning them?

Meanwhile Jawpaw,Lionblaze and Hollyleaf have to save the clans and warrior code, uncover the truth of there origin and aspect the truth. Ashfoot want revenge and the time has come for Jawpaw,Lionblaze and Hollyleaf to hunt with starclan, unless Squirrelflight admits her deepest and darkest secret. Will she do it or let them die? If she dose will any one save all the cats form Ashfoot's mouth?

This book is more mysterious that the a murder book. This book is great for people who like to hunt of the truth( BEWARE THE TRUTH IS DANGEROUS). This book was so good that I could not rip my eyes off it for even a second and the expected always happens.

Premise: In the aftermath of the solar eclipse, ShadowClan has decided to renounce StarClan in favor of following Sol. And things aren't much better for Firestar's grandchildren. Hollyleaf despairs that the warrior code is lost forever; Lionblaze is tormented by nightmares in which he murders Heathertail; and when disease strikes ThunderClan, Jaypaw is struck with desperation to save them. But nothing can compare to what the siblings will soon face specifically a shocking revelation that will turn all that they ever believed about themselves upside down.

Story/Writing: What a mind-blowing treat this book was to read! Granted, had I not been going through a lack of sleep I probably would've gotten through it much sooner. But regardless, this story has all the intrigue, action, and high-stakes tension I've come to expect from a "Warriors" book. Yet even though I have come to expect those things I crave from a story in this series (or rather from any story in general), that in no way means it's old! The authors somehow manage to find a way to keep me on my toes and write hit after hit even now that I've read over fifty titles in this series. While I wasn't feeling well and therefore had a bit of a harder time reading this one than the others, that didn't stop me from reading it in just three days! I knew I had a good story in my hands and I just could not put it down! As with most other books in this series, the characters' conflicts and struggles feel so real. If anything, they've gotten more serious now that the main characters have really grown up since the first couple of books in the "Power of Three" arc. That may sound obvious, but if you were to take those first couple of books and compare the way the siblings are portrayed in those to the way they're portrayed here, it's like looking at two similar yet very different portraits. More on that in a bit though. I felt some pretty heavy emotions as I was reading this. I felt the desperation that the siblings and their "cousins" felt when they thought up their plan to restore ShadowClan's faith in StarClan. I was completely floored when Raggedstar and Runningnose appeared to Blackstar, but not in a bad way. I may not have been expecting that at all, yet it made perfect sense in hindsight. Speaking of which, while I knew from the novella "Leafpool's Wish" that the siblings are in fact the children of Crowfeather and Leafpool rather than Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight, reading the scene where Squirrelflight reveals she's not their mother just really got my heart pounding against my chest. And don't even get me started on what Jayfeather discovers. I was just really impressed with how this story was built and how natural the three-act structure of it all felt. The writing was not too descriptive but not too vague. The emotions of everything that happened felt real and got me in the gut. It was all just great!

Characters: If there's one part of the story that the writers always get right, it's the cast of characters. The three siblings specifically go through trials and tribulations that really had me rooting for them. The more they discover about themselves, their destiny, and of course the past, the more intensely I felt the emotions I was getting. I can tell that they're all going to play incredibly important roles in the coming future that will soon be full of turning points in the history of the Clans.

Jayfeather Once again, I consider Jayfeather the main character in this book. But in this case, it's because of what he discovers. We finally learn about the origins of the prophecy, as well as how the ancient cats who lived by the lake are connected to the modern Tribe of Rushing Water. And the way we learn about both was probably the best part of the book! While I don't think it's as simple as saying Jayfeather is Jay's Wing reincarnated, my mind was blown when Jayfeather lives through Jay's Wing's memories and basically sets in motion the events that lead to the formation of the Tribe of Rushing Water and (eventually) the Clans. I even let out a bit of a fangirl scream when Half Moon showed up! Since I've been reading the books in chronological order, I already knew about Half Moon and her brief love for cat called Jay's Wing. And seeing her again after so long, as well as making the connection between Jay's Wing and Jayfeather, was such a sweet treat! Plus, while the love they shared was bittersweetly brief, I found Jayfeather's affection for Half Moon to be just adorable! Mostly because Jayfeather is usually a grump (though in a charming way), so you wouldn't think he'd be capable of having feelings like that toward someone, especially since he's a medicine cat. Yet it didn't feel out of character. If anything, I wished just as much as he did that circumstances were different. But that past is past. Aside from that, Jayfeather is as great as ever. I thought his plan to set up a sign from StarClan was risky but clever, and I loved how he was willing to go to such great lengths to save ThunderClan from the greencough outbreak. As grumpy as he can be, Jayfeather is now one of my favorite characters in the series!

Hollyleaf Hollyleaf is also just as good as she's ever been! Now that she's a warrior sworn to protect the warrior code, she definitely has her paws full already, that's for sure! You could say she is a bit obsessive about defending it, but she really does raise some good points as well. If even one Clan didn't live by the warrior code, they could invade any of the other Clans at any time, no questions asked. What I found to be really interesting about her though was that there were two occasions where she had the same response toward a cat who betrayed her, yet one made me feel a different way than the other did. For example, when she pretty much told Sol off and told him to get lost, I was like, "Yeah, you tell him, girl!" But then it really got me in the feels when she reacted the same way toward Squirrelflight, especially considering that just one book prior to this, she was sleeping next to her when she thought Squirrelflight might die. And now here she is not wanting anything to do with the cat she thought her whole life to be her mother, when she never was. Even though I wanted to remind Hollyleaf that Squirrelflight nonetheless raised her and loved her like she was her own, I did understand her reaction. Squirrelflight had lied to her, her brothers, and her Clan for all of Hollyleaf's life. If anything, I probably would be a bit uneasy if she didn't have a reaction like that. Even then though, you can tell that the love she felt all her life toward Squirrelflight has never really left her. In any case, I gotta say I'm a little nervous about what happens to her in the next book, given what I kinda know already.

Lionblaze Given how floored I was in my feelings toward Lionblaze in the last book, I'm surprised the authors made the risk of playing around with that a bit more in this book! Lionblaze was made a warrior the same time his sister was, so he's also gotta get used to being a warrior with all its responsibilities as well. And, it's kinda surprising that he adjusts as well as he does. He's got so many regrets from his past, both near and far, and you can tell how hard he's trying not to let it all overwhelm him, as well as how afraid he is of the cat he fears he could turn into. On the one hand, I remember wanting him to put aside his issues and get the catmint for his Clanmates who were getting close to death's door by that point. At the same time though, I really did get where he was coming from. He believes Heathertail betrayed him by showing the tunnels to WindClan, but his feelings for her have never truly faded away, given how horrified he is when he has nightmares about violently murdering Heathertail and hearing Tigerstar make fun of him for it. He doesn't want those nightmares to come true and doesn't want at all to become like Tigerstar, now that he knows for sure that the crow-food-eating Dark Forest monster was just using him. I'm just happy that he was brave enough in the end to get the catmint and even more so that he successfully restrained himself from lashing out at or even killing Ashfur.

Ashfur Speaking of which, my feelings toward this character took a complete one-eighty toward the end when he revealed that he was in on the plot to kill Firestar! Not to mention he threatens to let the siblings die in the fire, and then decides to humiliate Squirrelflight at the next Gathering and have the three driven out of ThunderClan, all because of his petty, bitter, and obsessive jealousy toward Squirrelflight. I thought there was a bit of resentment in him toward Lionblaze, his own apprentice. But I didn't think he would stoop to this level of low! I felt as betrayed as Squirrelflight and the three siblings did toward him. I thought he was better than this! And honestly, while I know I might be hoping in vain that this doesn't turn out to be the case, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Squirrelflight was the one who murdered him in the end. I personally wouldn't have wanted such an end for even a scumbag like him, but Squirrelflight and the siblings had far more on the line and he would've risked the safety of his Clan as well had he told on them. If nothing else, it makes sense that he's on the cover (of the version I read, anyway), given how his character and his death end up being crucial turning points for the rest of the arc, not just this story.

Firestar Once again, Firestar goes above and beyond to show why he's the best leader ThunderClan could ever have asked for. He takes it upon himself to be a true servant-leader when he comes up with the idea to quarantine himself along with the cats in the advanced stages of greencough. On the one hand, it does make practical sense, given he still has a few lives left when all the others have one. But even if he did have only one life like the rest of them, I think he probably would've done it anyway because he's their leader and would literally do anything for his cats. He truly embodies what ThunderClan has now become famous for: defending and caring for the weak when no one else either can or will.

Various Other Characters Sol, you are a bad, bad kitty! Even if Midnight did tell you everything, you clearly care about no cat but yourself, just as Leafstar said! In all seriousness though, it really creeped me out how determined Sol seemed to rid ShadowClan of the warrior code. I know it was likely done as a sort of revenge on Leafstar, just taken out on all the other Clans. But still, his quest for power was a haunting one to read, and I don't think I've seen the last of him. Moving on though, it was just mind-blowing seeing the founding leaders in the prologue after being away from them for so long. That was awesome! I'm proud of Littlecloud for keeping the faith and helping to convince Blackstar to return to his. I'm probably prouder of Tawnypelt for taking the risk of leaving ShadowClan with her kits. Speaking of whom, I thought Flamepaw, Tigerpaw, and Dawnpaw were cute and funny! They felt like great counterparts to their "cousins" and I thought their interactions were charming. I can tell they're gonna be some of the greatest ShadowClan cats in a long time, and for the right reasons. Despite how awful things have gotten between the two of them, I was so happy that Heathertail wasn't willing to let ThunderClan die for what Lionblaze nearly did to her. I felt sorry for all the ThunderClan cats who had to go and be quarantined at the Twoleg nest, and even more so for their healthy loved ones who had to watch them leave the their camp. I felt particularly awful for Graystripe. He's already lost his first mate, Silverstream. I don't know if either he or I could bear it if he lost another. But thankfully he didn't, and easily a big chunk of the thanks goes to Leafpool, who went above and beyond with how she cared for the ill cats! With that said, I thought Brightspirit and her parents, Shiningheart and Braveheart, were really interesting, even if the story behind the creation of those characters is rather tragic. From what I know, they were inspired by a young girl who was a "Warriors" fan but tragically lost her life in a natural disaster, which also killed both of her parents. I thought that was a really touching tribute and showed that the authors do care about their fans. But on the bright side, I was really intrigued when I read that Whitewing and Birchfall were expecting kits, 'cause I know those kits are gonna be Dovewing and Ivypool, whom I absolutely cannot wait to read about!

Overall: This book was just an absolute thrill to read! The themes of losing faith, regaining faith, betrayal, regret, despair, hope, and, of course, shock and awe just seemed to emanate from the pages for me. And since the book leaves on the cliffhanger of Ashfur's murder, I know that this is just the calm before the storm that is the sixth and final book in the "Power of Three" arc: "Sunrise!"

No haré spoiler.

The Long Shadows by Erin Hunter is an amazing book that you just struggle to put down. It is an eventful, suspenseful, and dramatic story based around 3 cats, Hollypaw, Lionpaw, and jaypaw. these cats are trying to figure out who they are and where they stand in the clan. They solve mysteries to help their clan and other clans if needed. Some crazy plot twists bring them to do things that they shouldn’t but for the sake of their clan and the other clans, they have to. And in the middle of already dealing with a lot, an unknown cat comes and causes chaos between the clans and it is up to the 3 cats to fix it. And on top of that, a secret was revealed that may change the clan forever. I was never a fantasy person, but once I started reading the warriors it changed my whole perspective and it caused me to become a better reader and open up to more genres. I highly recommend starting with the first book of the series, and if I get the chance to, I would love to read it all over starting from the beginning to now because of how good this series is in general, but other than that, I recommend this adventurous book to people that like fantasy books, cats, or other series from Erin Hunter.

apart from some annoying bits where lionblaze is a big idiot and the writing doesn’t back up his decisions believably enough for me, and also the 3 just being chill with ashfur after he blatantly openly threatens to and comes seconds away from killing them, pretty darn good cat book especially by cat book standards. my main gripe is it feels like a total no brainer like lionblaze you are cat superman just kill him right now. he’s insane and tried to kill you all i feel like you’d be justified in that. jump across the fire bro you are an athlete. that’s alright though i get that set pieces can get a little clumsy and abstract when we are dealing with cats. naturally.

jayfeather is goated lionblaze is goated hollyleaf the authors failed u i do not sympathize with you hardly at all. except for what i’m pretty sure you did but i can’t remember guess i’ll find out when i read the next book. they can hear me when i talk to them
