Rock star Dev Lachlan loves the ladies and, even better? The ladies love him. He’s got it all. Money pouring in, and a super hot band on the rise. Everything is coming up roses and he’s all about paying it forward. So when his best friend and bandmate’s younger sister asks him for a favor, he doesn’t hesitate. Until he realizes what she’s asking for. She wants him to teach her how to bring a man to his knees. He wants to show her—damn, does he want to show her—but something tells him one taste of Cheri won’t be enough. But more would surely tear the band apart

Cheri Galveston has loved Dev since the day he taught her how to ride a bike fifteen years ago. He was a great teacher then, and she can only hope he’s an even better one now. She can’t bring herself to be with anyone else and, just maybe, if she can get rid of this pesky virginity with him, she can move on and find a man who appreciates her. But will having Dev finally set her free, or has she just jumped from the pan into the fire?

2.5- So this one took me a while to get into. It was alright, I didn't feel like there was a lot of dialogue between Dev and Cheri. Although they did a ton of talking internally. I gave it a 2.5 because I enjoyed when they were talking to eachother but other then that, it just didn't do it for me. Also it ended so abruptly and I didnt really like what happened at the end on stage. I thought it was too much, too fast.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE AUTHOR THROUGH BOOK FUNNEL IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I started this book to distract me from a slow moving part of another book I was reading, but I found this one to almost be worse than the other book I was reading! It was a lot of telling, not showing the reader what happened in the story, which could have been an honest mistake, but I got the impression that this was not the author's first work! Dev and Cheri came across as lackluster characters at best, and there wasn't enough background given on the other members of the band! One blessing was that once I got into it, it did move at a quick pace for me. I'm mildly interested in reading what happens with the rest of the band, but would have to wait for a really good deal on them before purchasing for myself.

This copy also came with a very short Christmas story in it. Again, that story was a lot of telling, not showing, and the characters were again lackluster at best with no real depth. Reasons for behaviors were not explained at all, which I found very annoying. Again, a quick story, but not really worth my time reading.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars--HARD LESSON is the first installment in Savannah Skye’s contemporary, adult TOURING WITH THE BAND erotic, rock band romance series focusing on the members of the rock ban Sub-Zero. This is lead singer Dev Lachlan, and the band’s social media guru Cheri ‘Bug Galveson.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dev and Cheri) HARD LESSON is a friends to lovers story line focusing on Sub –Zero’s leading singer twenty eight year old Dev Lachlan, and twenty three year old Cheri Galveson. Dev, Cheri and her brother Rory have been friends most of their lives, and now that the band has hit the big time, there is little time for personal relationships or falling in love…except.Cheri has loved her brother’s best friend Dev Lachlan since she was eight years old, and Dev still sees Cheri as his best friend’s little sister. Tired of watching from the sidelines Cheri makes Dev an offer he should have refused-teach her how to seduce a man, and then walk away at the end of the tour. What ensues is the building relationship between Dev and Cheri, and the potential for fall out when their affair is revealed.

The relationship between Cheri and Dev is one of mutual attraction but Dev has always looked at Cheri as Rory’s little sister but Cheri is no longer the girl that constantly followed the band around-she is now a woman who wants what other women want –Dev Lachlan. Dev is a bit of a manwhore; a different woman in bed every night but there is one woman that is willing to offer more than a one night stand. The $ex scenes are intimate, intense and seductive.

We are introduced to the members of the band and their crew: Cheri’s older brother, Sub-Zero’s drummer Rory Galveson, and guitarists Connor, Mac and Quinn, as well as PR director and Cheri’s best friend Gina Saldano: tour and production manager Richard Hawkins; and band manager Bill.

The world building looks at the struggles on the road; behind the scenes; and the over crowded tour bus. The band’s manager has booked an intense three week tour that in the end will see the band lose more than a few nights of sleep. Mixing business with pleasure is always a bad combination when big brother is watching. We learn a little bit about Cheri and Rory’s earlier life but very little is fleshed out about Dev’s younger years or what makes our story line hero tick.

HARD LESSON is a slow building story line; a push and pull of palpable sexual energy that focuses on Cheri’s love for a man who is unable (or refuses) to offer more than the present. The premise is playful but I felt there was something missing in the overall presentation; the characters are passionate; the romance is tender but predictable.

Best friend’s baby sister, 5 years age difference. Dev lead man of Sub-Zero band with his 4 other childhood friends and one annoying little girl following behind the guys. Cheri ‘Bug and her brother Rory, had a rough childhood with abusive father and a mother that wasn’t all there.
Dev, a man-wh0re will never be the forever kinda guy, but that don’t stop his attraction and dirty thoughts about Cheri.
Cheri is a lot of job titles, baby sister, band grounding, Social Media, roadie, mother hen and so on, but no matter what her job is she’ll do it with a smile on her face since it the only family she has is the band and as a younge kid she gave her heart away to Dev and being around helps but hurts her heart when she sees him with the women. What if a lot liquid courage helps her set up a plan to make Dev fall for her and to give him the only thing she has that she hasn’t given to another guy, will he fall for the lessons she wants? Can she make his head spin with emotions that he’s afraid to name? But what happened when all the best taught plans and lessons do a 180 and distroys Cheri’s love for Dev?

Bad Boy Lead Singer & the Friend’s Little Sister

Good opening for another rock band series. Nothing kinky, just a ton of frustration and heart-ache for the heroine “Bug who wants to break out of the demeaning kid’s nickname so she can be seen as a grown woman by her brother and most of all, her brother’s womanizing friend, Devon.

While I am (personally) getting a bit tired of the man-whore trope, it does amp up the heart-break level for the heroine to the point she can’t take it anymore and challenges the hero to teach her about men. Secretly it’s so she can move on and get over him.

Skye cranks up the angst levels nicely from both POV’s, and while the relief at the end is nice, and ends well, the fact the hero chose her brother’s friendship (at least at first) over her, well... it’s a good thing she loves him so much. I am myself only 85% convinced about him. But Skye handles his jerkiness well, so I’m satisfied, and have gone on to read the second book in the series.

No games with this heroine. She decided enough was enough- too ma many wasted years. It was time to get her hearts desire to spend one night with her. Basically we jump right into it- thankfully.

I liked how Dev and Cheri start off with their “lessons in trying to make her have a guy fall to their knees for her. But really, she just wants the him, Dev. He knows this and wants her back but he doesn’t want to lose his best friend and band mate- whose also Cheri’s brother. What to do, what to do...? They work it out through lessons of course- until they can’t hold back any longer.

I liked the humor that Dev has with the guys. I loved the diner & store scene. I loved how worked up he got her and in the places he did it -physically and with his words. I liked Gina, Richard, and the band, and I liked how the the couples relationship was a build up over time. I also liked the little twist- which we all knew something was up- mmm hmmm.

Dev Lachlan is the front man for the up-and- coming band 'Sub Zero'. The band is on a three week tour that could make or break them. What he doesn't expect, is for their Social Media Director, Cheri “Bug Galveston, to make or break him.

After a few celebratory shots for amazing reviews on a show, Cheri asks Dev, why hes never picked her; hooked up with her. Dev can't believe it...shes always just been his best friend's younger sister, and despite noticing how shes grown up, he just cant got there. So with a little liquid courage, Cheri propositions him. She wants lessons in how to get a guy. You know, how to dress, how to flirt, how to kiss.... basically she wants to know how to bring a man like Dev to his knees!

Dev cannot even contemplate Cheri's request; she's his bandmate and best friend's little sister...can he? once he sees Cheri..really sees her..he realizes there has always been something about Cheri. Dammit, he's all in! But there are gonna be rules! One, no one can know and two, shes gotta do what he says exactly!

As their lessons progress, Dev wonders if Cheri feels the same way…all this confusion, and sexual need,- this obsession. Then don't they both owe it to themselves to see it through? They have weeks left on tour, and they can get it all out of their systems- this attraction. ..this all consuming need. Their friendship is strong. They’d make it through. Wouldnt they? What he doesn't plan for is Cheri stripping Dev Lachlan the rock star, and laying bare Dev Lachlan the man, who's world is now thrown off kilter by one woman...Cheri, his best friend's sister. One and done was his usual MO. The chemistry they have is out of control, and holding Cheri in his arms, he knows from the deepest part of him that one time will never be enough.

Cheri knows Dev is not a forever kind of a guy, but she can't help herself. She's been in love with him most of her life. He's the only man who could propel her to ecstasy with just a touch. She needs this...needs him...a taste of him...even if it crushes her.

Will they be able to navigate through their explosive chemistry and then still be able to walk away with their friendship in tact? Or will one night lead to more?

This book was hot, hot, HOT! I loved the premise of 'girl is in love with her brothers best friend and him suddenly noticing her as a woman and not being able to control himself'. Great endearing characters, hot scorching sexual chemistry/scenes and the steamy yet sweet story had me hooked until the last page! A must read for those who love when the good girl gets her bad boy!

6 stars- I really loved the premise of this book and the band members each hold a little piece of me. I love the stories that Savannah writes and this is one of my favorites hands down. The chemistry between Dev and Cheri is so sizzling but so forbidden and that made it fun and such a sexy read. Cheri has been in love with her brothers best friend for as long as she can remember, but she knows that there are so many complications the least not being her big brother. What happens when sparks fly and the chemistry and attraction becomes to much? Will they give in and realize they can make each other happy or will one just want a fling? Thank you for allowing me to read this and write honestly about it.

So great that I didn't want to put it down!! Cheri is sweet, smart, lovable and completely in love with Dev, has been for most of her life. I love how we get that memory of how she fell for him. The years of friendship between Dev and her brother Rory have them all so close. I enjoyed that friendship, the conversations, the closeness between all of the guys. Dev and Cheri are so hot, that slow kind of burn that is so intense. Feelings, emotion, some pain have all mixed for a great story and I'm looking forward to more.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Good story

Cheri grew up around her brother Rory's band Sub Zero and has loved lead singer Dev since he taught her to ride her bike. The band is taking off and Cheri goes on tour with them as their social media director. Dev still sees Cheri as his best friend's little sister until she asks him to give her lessons on attracting guys. Dev starts to see Cheri as a woman and decides to keep her for himself, but her brother Rory is not happy. Chemistry between Dev an Cheri is good and I was really enjoying the band dynamic but what knocked a few stars off is some of the storyline faded away. Hope the band and Gina get to tell their story

What a page Turner.

You had me from the start. What starts out as more of a dare turns very real for Dev, the lead singer of the band, and his best friends little sister, Cheri. Loved to read how Cheri pursued Dev and the hot situations they would find themselves in.

This is a must read book, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a great love story. Ready to read more about these two and the other members in the band so please Savannah Skye, write more about these great characters.

To be honest I got the second book in this series as an ARC so I know you can't start there. So I starting with this one first. Plus I love books about rock stars. This is about Dev and Cheri. Dev is got all she wants. His life is going very well so he gives back when he can. So when Cheri asks him for a favor he agrees. Then when he finds out what it is he is not sure how to handle it. Cheri wants Dev to teach her how to bring a man to his knees. So when he teaches her all she needs to know will he let her go or keep her for himself? You will have to read and find out.

I wont lie I chose Hard Lesson from the Kindle Prime Library because the front cover told me it was going to be a smutty Little Rock star romance... i.e. the perfect beach read.

Cherri is the younger sister of a rock star who has been in love with lead singer Dev for as long as she can remember. Cherri challenges Dev to teach her how to catch a man and the rest is history.

Hard Lesson focuses on the tour from hell with a nightmare manager as the back ground to the love story of Dev and Cherri.

Truly an enjoyable read!

Hard Lesson by Savannah Skye is an excellent book. Dev and Cheri have known each other forever. After all Dev is the best friend of Cheri's brother. She has been crushing on him for years and just can't stand seeing him go through woman after woman. Finally she decides to take drastic action and asks Dev to teach her how to seduce a guy. As the lesson are learned feeling begin to grow. Will it be more than a fling? What happens when they are discovered? Can the band survive this? Grab a copy to find out. I'm posting a voluntary review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

This is the first I read from this author and I can't wait for more. Dev is the epitome of a rock star, girls throw themselves at him and all. Cheri is his best friend's little sister and she needs his help to seduce a guy. This is when their whole interaction changes and they see each other in another light. I reviewed voluntarily a copy of the book.

*I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE AUTHOR VIA BOOK FUNNEL FOR AN HONEST REVIEW*

I went into Hard Lesson with high hopes, that sadly the book did not meet.

I found the characters a little dull, the story slow. I definitely needed more background information on Dev and Cheri, not to mention the rest of the band.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed reading Cheri and Dev's story. They had a lot of chemistry from the start and Dev is all to happy to help Cheri overcome her "problem" as long as it doesn't tear the band apart. This story was great. I look forward to the next book!

She has been in love with him forever and he just noticed she a real woman, but she's off limits. She wants to learn how to be a woman men notice and he wants to teach her how just to be close to her.

Good story, doesn't drag at all, love the amusing snark.

Cherie has been in love with her brother’s best friend (Dex) forever. She asks him for "love" lessons? When did the fraudulent business manager become a necessary element of a musician story line. 2.5 stars

What did you do when you love someone who notices everyone but you???? You ask them to help you get noticed! Playing with fire? yes !!!
But has loved dev for so long but he's not even noticed she's grown up. Really enjoyed this book worth reading.
