Rate this book
At 19, Beck Barretti is living two lives. To his family, he’s a young man trying to find his way after years of battling a mental illness that nearly cost him everything. But to the rest of the world he’s just another privileged kid with problems. The truth doesn’t even lie somewhere in between because Beck’s entire life is actually about keeping secrets.

From the people he loves.

From the ones he doesn’t.

From himself.

Spending a summer in Dare, Montana with family friends isn’t about starting fresh it’s about escaping the crippling darkness that threatens to consume him.

Until one encounter that was supposed to mean nothing ends up changing everything

Quinn Donovan had the life he’d always dreamed of until a brutal act of violence ripped it all away. Even though he’s found a new future working at the CB Bar Ranch in Dare, Montana, he’s not interested in trying to get back what he once had. All he wants is a quiet life that includes a job that’s worth getting up for each morning and hanging out with his best friend, a black and white Paint stallion named Koda.

But nothing prepares him for the strange twist of fate that brings not one, but two men into his life

Brody Wilder is done hiding in the closet. As the son of a political scion, he’s spent his entire life hiding the truth about who he is just so he could inherit a legacy he never wanted. But those days are behind him and he’s starting a new life in rural Montana where he’s saving lives as a paramedic and building a successful construction business that would surely horrify his old-money, society-loving family.

After years of denying himself, he’s taking advantage of his newfound freedom by indulging in random, meaningless sexual encounters that are about pleasure, not emotion.

So no one is more surprised than him when one night in the back room of a sordid gay club leads to something more

Can three men who came together by chance find the hope they need to build a future with each other, or will they end up letting their fears determine their destiny?

4/13/19 I love this book so much...breaks my heart every time <3

Re-read 7/26/18 and 7/16/17

I am a huge Sloane Kennedy fan. Over the last year, she has become one of my favorite MM authors. Every book she writes is an auto-buy for me and I have been patiently waiting for Beck's story. Thankfully, Sloane Kennedy never makesme wait very long ;) When I saw this baby on Amazon yesterday...I screamed...

Now before I go any further with this review, I wantto point out that this book has some major triggers. To know what they are, you have tolook into the book though, but I am gonna explain them right here because for some people this can be a very serious issue. This book deals with depression, suicide attempt, (sexual) child-abuse and rape.

Now for the book.....damn this book broke my heart. I can honestly say that this is my favorite book in this series...maybe even out of allthe series. I read it all in one go. This is also the only book that had me wiping tears off my face from beginning to end...Plenty of Sloane's books have made me cry, but not from the beginning to the last page.

tumblr_n74n46Ozam1ts7f01o1_500.gif (500×250)

Thankfully there were also some really bright and loving parts ;) Not to mention...HOT parts.

Beck (19) is Cade and Rafe's son (for those of you who have read Rafe's book). He was adopted by his fathers when he was 13/14 years old. He has been struggling with depression for most of his life. His struggles got very bad15 months ago and now he is ready for a time out. Time away from his dadswho are analyzing his every move and all the people who look at him funny. He is about to spend his summer in Montana working on a ranch. But before he gets there...he makes a little detour that will change his life forever.

Brody is a politician's son and 3 years ago he finally escaped the clutches of his family and jumped out of the closet. He is working as a paramedic, but he also has a small construction business on the side. He is happy living out and proud and doing what he always wanted. The only thing he misses from his former life is his twin brother Nathan.

Quinn is a rancher. Two years ago, his happy life was ripped apart. Now he just goes to gay bars for hook-ups, because he isn't interested in something more. He already had his happily ever after...even though it didn't last forever.

These three men come together (pun intended)and have a very hot encounter in a bathroom stall at a gay club. And let me tell you....they were HOT !!

giphy.gif (500×208)

All three of them are surprised by how good it felt being together that way. But none of them are as surprised as Beck. Things weren't supposed to be like this for him....so he panics and runs.

That was supposed to be the end for the three of them, but faith isn't done with them yet.

They come face to face again and even though all threeof them have issues about relationships, one more so than the other, they can't help the pull they feeltowards each other. Things aren't easy though. Beck has a lot of baggage he carries around. My heart and the hearts of both his men broke when he finally confessed his story...

They were so perfect together though...I love MMM books, but no one writes them as good as Sloane Kennedy. You can feel their connection right from the start and you just know that they belong together.

As hard asit was to read this book...I loved every second of it. It hurt so good.

The sex scenes between these three men were amazing. They were very hot, yet so loving and intimate and I kind of felt like a peeping Tom...

10229331.gif (500×426)

I also loved reading about all the old couples. Cade and Rafe, Jax and Dane, Hunter and Roman, Callan, Rhys, and Finn. All Sloane Kennedy's men are connected in some way and I love being a secret part of this awesome family she created.

So, for me, this one is going on my "deserves 6 stars"shelf. I can't wait to see what's next. I also hope we'll be getting a book about Nathan, Brody's brother. Pretty please ????

Re-read August 2021

I still enjoyed this, but I'm not sure the Sloane Kennedy formula is that special to me anymore.

---------------------

This was awesome! So much hurt/comfort in this MMM story.

Quinn is a 33 year old cowboy, looking for a hookup in a club. When he spots the young man walking towards him, he knows he has to have him. When the two are walking towards a bathroom stall, their eyes lock with a stranger and sparks seem to fly. The three end up having hot and heavy sex, but afterwards, the young guy seems to panic and flees.

Beck is the 19 year old adopted son of Rafe and Cade Barretti (Redeeming Rafe). He was out looking for a hookup to escape the demons in his head. But the sex wasn’t supposed to feel good. Especially not with two men instead of one.

When Quinn goes to work at a friend’s ranch the next day, he encounters Beck again, who is spending the summer on the ranch helping out. Neither man expected to see the other one again. And when it turns out Brody, the stranger from the club, is also spending several weeks on the ranch to help out, it seems they can’t escape each other.

But Beck has some serious issues regarding big men and sex. Quinn and Brody need a lot of patience in dealing with him. But when all three of them become friends, it’s not long before they can’t deny their attraction any longer, and when Beck takes the first step, Quinn and Brody follow...

I really liked this. There was so much hurt/comfort in this, it was wonderful. Beck was hurting so much, and Quinn and Brody were so sweet with him, and each other.

I liked how these men fell in love with each other at the same time. The angst was mostly because of Beck’s past and all of them learning to love (again). Lot of communication in this one, no crazy misunderstandings.

What I really like in Sloane Kennedy's books is that all her characters are hurting in some way, but somehow the angst never feels overwhelming to me. It is like they all take turns in comforting each other's hurt. It is so very well done!

The sexy times were plentiful, but definitely not too much. It had the perfect balance between smut and plot.

I absolutely loved it.

4 stars for this new addition to the “finding home series. Could be a standalone, but then, Sloane Kennedy mixes the characters from this series and her other ones more and more, so it’s better to read her previous work before.

Back to Dare where Beck, one of the “Barretti kids, will spend a summer working with horses. But also with Quinn and Brody, 2 older guys he previously met one night in a bar and had a sexual and quite unforgettable encounter with.
All three men have baggage from their past, but most of all Beck, the quiet, depressed and skittish Beck. And it leads to a beautiful journey for the 3 of them. It was moving, angsty as hell in pure Sloane Kennedy’s style, and once again, the sexual chemistry and hotness were there in spades.
I’m not a fan of MMM, but this author makes it work. And it’s great to follow up on all the previous characters for her series.

I’m really looking forward to the next one with Nathan. I have a feeling all the characters from “Barretti securities, “Finding home and the “protectors series will be mixed.

I loved this ... I gave up sleep and any semblance of sleeping to finish this in one hit. It was beautiful, tragic and compassionately written. Such a difficult topic, handled with care. At one stage I needed tissues and kept telling myself this is fiction - but my reality reminded me that this trauma happens in RT as well. I can only hope that anyone in trouble eventually finds their protector/s. The chemistry between these three characters was intense and so compelling...Quinn fed off Beck, Brody fed off Beck and Quinn & Brody together just continued to fan the flames. I adored their romance and respect for each other. If you are a fan of Sloane Kennedy I highly recommend this one

"We don’t get to pick and choose the people our futures are with or the circumstances under which we meet them.

Finding Hope is book number 5 in author Finding Series . This is my first book of this series, although I had no trouble falling quickly down the rabbit hole and loving this story, in addition to welcoming characters from another well-known series, The Protector's. So, don't worry if you have not read books 1-4 in the series, I hadn't and I was just fine. I want to just state clearly, if you have a problem with ménage, hot sex, this book may offend you. In addition, if you may be triggered by abuse, suicide, and/or prostitution, go into this book with caution. While these aspects don't "take over" the story, this is a romance after all. The abuse, prostitution, and suicide are there, and they are part of what makes one of the MC so in need of love.

So, Finding Hope, is told from alternating first person POV, rotating through our three MC, Beck, Quinn, and Brody. I always enjoy alternating well plotted POV stories as it allows the reader to get inside everyone's head and fully understand all the intricacies of the characters.

This story takes place mostly at CB Bar ranch in Montana and then a resort being built in Dare Montana. I am a sucker for cowboys so I loved that aspect. Since I grew up riding horses, I appreciate the accuracy that Ms. Kennedy detailed different aspects of ranch life and the equestrian way of living. So a A+ for setting and world building, yet again, I don't think this author has let me down yet.

The character's in this story initially meet while letting off some steam. When they part ways, none of them ever expect to see the other again...yet, our author knows what our men need and weaves their second meetings quite spectacularly.

Throughout the story, these three Beck, Quinn, and Brody learn to trust each other and fall in love. This is no easy thing as all of these men are broken and bring a past full of hurt, hate, loss, grief, and loneliness - each one has a unique past, but all the same, they all need love and hope. Which they quickly find comes in all forms, and is found when you are least looking for it..even on a horse ranch in Montana.

"Until he’d kissed me…until he’d made me feel something I’d spent a lifetime not feeling. Alive."

I don't want to share the back-stories of our characters because each reader needs to experience it as intended. While getting to know the MC and reading the book.

This story is full of passion and heat.. these guys have a lot of fun together as they learn what makes the other moan, while exploring each nook and cranny of each others bodies.

"He was a fucking lamb among wolves. But I knew it was far too late to stop. I wanted him too badly. And I could tell he was too far gone in his need for anything but release."

Overall, this is a solid 5 star romance that with have you laughing, crying, yelling, and smiling...it shows how letting go and healing from past wrong doings, hurt, and loss...can allow you to find a second chance love that is magical and will change your life!
"I was…happy. Such a simple word and yet it was changing everything for me. Colors seemed brighter, food tasted better…the list was endless. I was finally living my life and I no longer cared if I was “normal”or not. Normal was relative. Many would say my relationship with two men at the same time wasn’t normal. My thoughts on the matter…so be it. I would choose them over some predefined notion of “normal”any day of the week."

"And I knew in that moment that was exactly what was ahead of us. Our whole lives."

I am adding this series to one of Sloanne's I now need to go back an read all of the books because this book was so good! In addition, I can't wait for her next story - I have included the character tree created by Sloanne Kennedy, this shows you the overlap and intricate weaving of world's that Ms. Kennedy has created and continues to build on...it's brilliant!

4 Stars!! 😍 Loved it! My first Sloane Kennedy book and I really loved it. Yes, it was emotional and full of angst but the sizzle & steam between this threesome made up for the tears I cried. 😳💘
It was exceptional how Quinn, Brody and Beck came together and although all of them had past burdens and baggages, Beck's past truly broke my heart. How can someone like that still be able to smile and move on, is the true testament to Beck's strength. In the beginning it did feel like Beck was too fragile, but towards the end one could see him come out of the darkness and no longer feel as fragile. I wish we got to know a little more about Quinn and Brody, the story was more centered around Beck. Nevertheless the slow build-up of trust and care between the three was done very well and the ending too is a cautiously optimistic WIP rather than an unrealistic HEA.
Although this was the 5th book in the series I feel that it can be read as a standalone, and I am looking forward to reading more from this series and others by Ms. Kennedy. Highly recommended to all fans of emotion, steam, angst and a little sap 👍👍

Not a SK favourite for sure. If I'm honest I was bored at times, I definitely didn't get the feels I usually get from this author's books and I've read virtually all of them. I don't know if it's just me but there seemed to be an awful lot of telling in this one.

I like how Ms Kennedy writes MMM. She always gives every man an equal voice, equal chance to tell their story. They give and take in equal measure, and the feelings between them always make sigh. This story had a more measured tempo. It was more about healing and finding stable ground. At times it felt that Beck's depression was a living thing between them but both Quinn and Brody's support helped Beck to find himself.

Beck's story is tragic. It begs to ask a question: How many times people who should know you the best overlook the smile that is fake? How many times will a person lie convincingly before they snap? Beck despite being good at pretending one day simply can't, and with his decision come so many changes that seem to make it even worse. His trip to Dare is just one of the useless things to pass the time but it turns out anything but. He finds two men who teach him to trust, who make him feel safe and wanted. I liked that despite his fear he still let the spark he felt for both men grow into a steady flame. I really admired him when he sought help when the last time it turned into a nightmare.

Quinn is a man of simple tastes. All he ever wanted was a place to call his own and a family but all of that was shattered when his husband was taken from him. When he meets Beck and Brody he is just existing and surviving one day at a time. Both men help Quinn to grieve and take a chance on love again. I liked Quinn's patience be it with animals, children or his men when they needed his quiet strength. I felt that he was the most grounded in their relationship.

Brody is leaving his dream life. He broke free from his upscale conservative family but there is still a piece of him missing - his twin brother Nathan who left a gaping hole in his chest when he turned his back on him. Brody is a dreamer. He is compassionate, and he is the glue that keeps their relationship together and makes it light at times.

This book centered mostly on Beck's issues and overcoming his traumatic past, managing his depression and finally finding the life he always wanted. I loved them together. There were playful times, romantic and intimate times, painful and tearful times. and through them all Beck, Quinn and Brody were just beautiful! Another wonderful heart felt story, and I highly recommend it.

* After an encounter that shouldn't have happened, these three men are thrown together for Ranch work. They pick up where they left off, each wanting the other, each needing the other. The troubled young Beck, 19, is finally finding what he's been searching for. Along with Quinn, 33, and Brody and Beck, the three of them really meld into their relationship. This is magnificent and deep, with amazing characters we love, an interesting tale of complicated lives finding their peace in each other's arms. Wonderful ! Truths are revealed, acceptance is given. Their back stories are rough, especially Beck's.
This series is terrific, and each can stand alone. Sloane Kennedy stories and characters give us hot as hell sex scenes, raw and powerful emotions, and a heartwarming closing. Tough men, tough situations, true passion.
Highly recommended ! ENJOY !

Sloane Kennedy is my new chocolate--I can't get enough of her stories. This is the last story in the Finding series and it's my favorite to date. I love menage and I honestly don't think anyone does it better.

In this one, Quinn, a widower and horse trainer, along with Brody, a paramedic and construction worker (and brother of Nathan ) get together with Beck, one of the adopted children of Rafe and Cade Barretti . The story principally surrounds Beck and his issues with men--primarily due to past instances of abuse. And, of course, the story also deals with the three men finding their way to a long lasting and loving relationship.

Most of the story takes place in Dare, Montana, where others in the Finding series are located, including Jax and Dane, with whom Beck has come to spend the summer at the request of his fathers. Though they're hoping Beck can come to terms with some of the depression he's been suffering from, Beck gets so much more than he ever bargained for, and by the end of the summer he has found his forever men and is well on the way to emotional recovery from his dark past.

It's hot and it's sweet and it's heartbreaking and it's heartwarming. Everything I love all in one place.

I normally don't enjoy ménage books. I find the relationships to be lopsided and it puts me off the romance. Sloane Kennedy's ménage books are ALWAYS the exception to this. She such an amazing author. I've read every book she has written and they are all 4-5 star reads for me. I have never been disappointed by any of her books. This book was no exception. I sat down to read one chapter this morning and four hours later finished the book.

Possible Triggers: depression, suicide attempt, child abuse and rape
19-year-old, Beck, is Cade and Rafe’s son. He was adopted by his fathers when he was 13 and has been struggling with depression for most of his young life. His struggles became very bad a year and a half ago and now he's ready for a time out. Especially time away from his dads, who love him but who are also watching and analyzing his every move...and for the people who he thinks are "looking at him funny". He's going to spend his summer in Montana working on a ranch. However, before he gets there…he makes a little detour that will change his life forever. He meets Brody. Brody is the son of a politician. Three years ago, he finally escaped the clutches of his family.. and jumped, without much thought, out of the closet. He is now working as a paramedic, and also has a small construction business on the side. He is happy living out and proud and doing what he always wanted. The only thing he misses from his former life is his twin brother, Nathan. Quinn is a rancher. Two years ago, his happy life was ripped apart. Now he just goes to gay bars for hook-ups, because he just isn’t interested in something more. He already had his happily ever after…even though the "ever after" part got missing in the equation. It's in one of these bars that these three guys come together. All three of them are surprised by how good and worry free they felt being together but none of them are as surprised as Beck...so he does what he always does...he panics and runs. That was supposed to be the end for the three of them, but fate has something else in store for them. The story is well done as all of Sloane Kennedy's books are but there are some hard to read parts that will tear your heart apart.

Epic introduction chapter kicks off another brilliant story

I don't think I've ever read an opening chapter that was at once both incendiary levels of hotness and intriguing enough to lay out the main narrative until this one.

Seriously, Sloane Kennedy is one of the finest writers of MMM I've ever read, she has a supreme talent for not only making them volcanic levels of sexual tension, but also deeply emotional and erotic where one of the three never feels like a spare wheel.

This book takes us back to Dare, where there's an extended level of connection with both Ronan's Protectors and the Barretti security guys, but which we've not had a story from for quite a while.

Beck, eldest adopted son of Cade and Rafe Barretti needs to get away from Seattle and so goes to spend the summer with Cade's former military partner Jax and his husband Dane, where he's going to work for Callan at his ranch.

Along the way he has an encounter in a club bathroom with not just one man but two, both of whom he never expects to meet again, which leaves him reeling from the intensity.

So he's shocked into panic when he discovers the man who made him fly on emotions is Quinn, Callan's right hand horse man. On his panicked flight from Quinn, he crashes his car and discovers the second of his bathroom partners is Brody, a paramedic.

Where the story goes from here is cleverly woven through the lives of both the close knit family in Dare but also ripples back to the extended Seattle crowd. Beck is drowning until the point at which he gives in and lets himself float with the support of Quinn and Brody.

Beautifully unravelled throughout the romance, we find each of the three has fears they have been struggling to live with but which they find a way of coping when they're in the arms of the others.

No magic dick in this one either - yay thanks Sloane! - happiness is worked for, professional help is sought, and communication is had to make these three work at their relationship.

The scene where they exchange I love yous is beautifully crafted and feels truthful and well earned. I loved this book and was ridiculously happy when I saw it released early.

Now Sloane, bring out the next Protectors book early please!

A heart wrenching story.
The things that happened to one of the hero was so tragic. And I’m in awe of his inner strength. The scenes were he first tells his lovers then later fathers about it was so heart breaking, I cried. How can any parent overcome that?. Makes one want to kill every last perverts and rapists!
As usual it had all the superb ingredients of a typical Sloane Kennedy book and I enjoyed it.
Recommended though mind the triggers mentioned in the first page.

I started reading Defiance Protectors book 9, I read the prologue and the first chapter but there were gaps in the story as Nathan is Brody's twin brother and Dom mentioned something about Beck so I decided to put it on hold and jump into Finding Hope even though I haven't read any of the previous books in this series.

This is a m/m/m book the story of Beck, Brody and Quinn the prologue was steamy and I enjoyed how the guys get to know each other while working together and the sex between these three WOW.

My heart broke for everything that Beck has been through his story reminded me of what Rafe went through as a child I wished they would have spoken about this with each other.

I enjoyed this story but it did not grip me like The Protectors series has, I missed the suspense, twists and shocks.

The epilogue was sweet and I loved the banter with the guys at the end.

Even though this is the fifth book in the Finding series and I met all the men from the previous books, I will admit I got confused with all the names and I can't remember who was with who so I don't think I have spoiled anything for myself. I will read this series after I am done with The Protectors.

I love to read mmm romance, it is one of my favorite tropes and when the m/m romance groups member choice awards 2017 were announced, I decided to go with the winner in the polyamorous category first.
As expected, with a book that is loved by so many people, you can't go wrong.
It was a fabulous read and I was hooked from the beginning.
I especially liked that it took quite some time for the three men to figure out, how their unusual relationship might work.
The only thing I didn't enjoy was that from time to time it got a little too much with the drama, especially with Beck, the youngest of the 3, there was so much shit thrown at him, it got a little hard to bare (and to believe).
Still this was a fabulous read for me and I would definitely say one of the best I have read this year. Make sure to have enough tissues at hand before starting this! 4.5 stars and recommended.

This is the 5th book in the Finding series. While you don’t have to read them first, this book is best enjoyed after some foundations in books 1-4. It also features Beck Barretti, the son of the MCs from Kennedy’s Redeeming Rafe (book 2 of Barretti Security series).

Please check the CWs for this book. Kennedy’s stories always discuss some difficult topics but this one feels particularly laden. Usually I leave these until the end, but there’s no way to discuss the book without mentioning some of them (spoilers): attempted suicide of MC, abuse & SA of a child, attempted SA of secondary character, homophobia & abandonment by family of MC, death of a spouse, child “prostitution (obviously a child can’t consent, but it’s the most succinct word)

After a suicide attempt leaves Beck crushed under the constant watch of his family, he seeks a fresh start in Dare, Montana with family friends. He meets ranch hand/horse trainer Quinn, and EMT Brody in what’s supposed to be a one night stand at a bar. Of course, his first day of work he learns he’ll be in fairly constant contact with both of them. The relationship evolves from there.

While I enjoyed how things evolved with these three - the trauma that Beck endured for his two decades of life was just too much. Piled on top of Quinn’s loss of his husband and Brody’s homophobic family - it really makes the romance a minor part of the storyline. Especially since most of the final chapters concentrate on revealing a litany of abuses/incidents. The resolution & healing didn’t feel like enough. While there’s an HFN epilogue, the additional chapter from Cade’s POV covered more of the trauma.

Frankly, it feels like Kennedy was trying to see how many things she could pile on a single character and it just missed the mark on being a romance for me even if meeting the technical definition.

Narration:
Michael Dean was great. Nearly all the characters are male and he does a great job of giving them all unique voices and personalities.

“It takes just seconds to destroy trust, but a lifetime to get it back.

WOW!

That's all I've got.

This was my first book that was M/M/M and one by Sloane Kennedy but Finding Hope was so much more than that. It was about reinventing and finding yourself, being happy, making new family out of your friends.

Now before we go any forward, there will be triggers in this book that's not for everyone. There's mention of suicide, abuse and depression. Brody, Quinn, and Beck. The three men who meet by chance at a bar and than are together again when they see they'd be working together.

As much as this story was about love, it was also so much more about Beck who had to overcome so many things in order to be happy.

And let me tell you, I sobbed.

And sobbed even more.

And that ending was absolutely worth every tear I had shed. It was magical, wonderful, and filled with so much happiness. This book had every single emotion you could imagine.

“It’s not as hard as you thought, is it? Callan asked.
The question confused me so I tore my eyes from Beck and Brody to look at him. “What is?
“Loving two men at the same time.

I went outside of my comfort zone and it was worth everything that I had to go through to get here. If you have ever read a M/M and need someone outside of your zone, than definitely give this book a try. There are no words to describe how much I loved this.

Compared to the last book this one wasn’t as good in my opinion. I think Beck was a little too immature for my taste, which makes sense since he is 19. On the other hand he had so many things happen to him in that short of a time that I can understand where his need to always flee came from.

Overall good end to this series now I am deciding if I want to tackle the whole “Protectors series now haha

The Barretti's strike again!

Beck, Cade and Rafe's adopted son, has made his was to Dare, Montana to try to restart his life after a terrible trauma. Jax and Dane, from Finding Trust have found him work at the CB Bar ranch, featured in Finding Home. Beck has an encounter with Quinn and Brody the night before he starts work and later finds out that he'll be working around both men. Quinn and Brody hadn't met before that night either, so the story revolves around the development of a relationship on relatively equal footing.

Beck has big mental and emotional problems though and much of the book is centered around those issues. I spent a great deal of time quite puzzled by how Beck's parents wouldn't have helped deal with his issues long before. Especially Rafe with his history. It does all get explained eventually but it wasn't until later in the story. It bothered me so much that it kept me from enjoying the first part more. I was also uncomfortable that Beck was only 19. I understand it's fiction but that's way too young for me to not feel a little icky about sex scenes or believe they can sustain these complex relationships. Or maybe I'm just too old.

I appreciated that it took time for the three of them to actually get involved. It did make it more believable and I was also glad to see therapy included. I still think things turned around a little too quickly. A new character is introduced that I'm sure will be in a coming book and likely connecting the three series again. I'm a bit addicted to these series but I can rely on a fairly exciting storyline and a good amount of smexy.

"This, Beck murmured. “Whatever we do, I want it to be me between you both just like this.
And then his hand was cupping the back of my head and he was gently pulling me down to meet his waiting lips.
I groaned as his tongue swept over mine. I could feel Quinn’s chest pressed against my arms which were resting on Beck’s back. I moved them so I could wrap them around Quinn too. His mouth was on mine next as he leaned over Beck’s shoulder to reach me. It felt so right in that moment that I felt all my emotions rise to the surface. The struggle to tamp them down was more than I could take and I had to momentarily press my face into the crook of Beck’s neck. Hands were running up and down my back in a soothing gesture so I knew my men had noticed my reaction. I stood there for several long seconds and just reveled in the sensation of being surrounded of being wanted. I was on the precipice of something great and I knew it. This would be nothing like what had happened in that bathroom at the club. Yes, the sex would be phenomenal, but it would be so much more than that. Because it wasn’t my body that was most invested in this encounter.
It was most definitely my heart.
Only by the time this was over, I knew it wouldn’t be mine anymore."

If you’ve been following this series, you know there are a lot of characters to follow. Many of the relationships are triads, and they are all somehow connected, either by family or by work.

Beck is the 19 year old adopted son of Rafe and Cade Barretti. He had a pretty rough life taking care of his younger siblings, and even though his dads have done everything they could to try and help him, things have kind of spiraled for him. In an attempt to get a fresh start, he is going to spend the summer at their friends ranch which will hopefully also help rebuild some of the trust lost after a previously unsuccessful suicide attempt. He is going through quite a bit more than he let on though, and as a way to cope and put things in his control, he makes a stop at a gay club where he has an encounter with Quinn and Brody that ended up surprising and turning the tables on him.

Quinn works at the ranch taking care of the horses. He is grieving the loss of his husband who died at the hands of a gay bashing approximately two years prior. Thinking he had his one love and lost it, he isn’t looking for more than the casual hookup.

Brody is an EMT with a side business in construction who is doing some work at a resort that works in conjunction with the ranch (see, the guys are all connected in some way, shape or form). Having left home after his coming out didn’t go over very well, he is now living his life on his terms.

These three never expected to share a connection like the one they realized they had. While it is clear that Beck has to be handled with kid gloves (no pun intended), they nevertheless want to help and be friends if nothing else. But, none of them can deny the chemistry the three of them share. It takes quite a bit of nurturing to get past some of the roadblocks Beck’s past has created, and his maturity level certainly doesn’t help any. However, they make it work, and clearly are what each of them needs.

I admit that I struggle with age gaps such as this where one MC is a teenager (albeit legal). I have a hard time seeing how the maturity levels can last or mesh, so it isn’t my favorite trope. However, that does not take away from the quality of the story or the emotions it invokes. Ms. Sloane manages to bring that out in every story I’ve read, which is why I continue to go back every time. It is easy to care about her characters and their stories. It’s a wonderful world (though often hard at times) where so many man can live in non-traditional relationships showing that all that matters is the love that exists between the parties. I’m already looking forward to the next one and highly recommend you give this or any of her other series a try.

After an encounter that shouldn't have happened, these three men are thrown together for Ranch work. They pick up where they left off, each wanting the other, each needing the other. The troubled young Jace, 19, is finally finding what he's been searching for. Along with Quinn, 33, and Brody and Jace, the three of them really meld into their relationship. This is magnificent and deep, with amazing characters we love, an interesting tale of complicated lives finding their peace in each other's arms. Wonderful ! Truths are revealed, acceptance is given. Their back stories are rough, especially Jace's.
This series is terrific, and each can stand alone. Sloane Kennedy stories and characters give us hot as hell sex scenes, raw and powerful emotions, and a heartwarming closing. Tough men, tough situations, true passion.
Highly recommended ! ENJOY !

I absolutely enjoyed this angst-filled book.

I even believed the emotional connection these 3 men had for each other which is unusual for me when it comes to MMM books.

What Beck went through absolutely justified his behavior and I was proud of him for being strong enough to work through it. The fact that Quinn and Brody were unflinching in their support for him when he was working through his past horrors was just great. I really loved their relationship, how it evolved and how the insane chemistry they had in the sheets translated to the outside.

The ending was very apt and Cade's reaction was just perfect for what I expected of him (though I expected Rafe to behave same) but who cares? That violator is going to get what he deserves and that's that!

Nathan's book is next (Protectors Book #9) and it looks to be another great one.

I LOVE Sloane Kennedy and I loved this book, even though it wasn't so intense as some of her books. She have a way of writing about hurt and pain some worse than others but, what makes her books special for me is the magical antidote and feel goods she gives with the pain and loss and all the bad crap.... LOVE!!! You will always read about a love so great and powerful and ready to demolish any demons in the way.

Beck, Quin and Brody was a beautiful love story. I loved the characters and the plot. It was nice to get to get a little one on one at the end with Cade again.
