I see this has a low rating and I assume that it’s because the recipes are pretty simple, but I looked at this cookbook as a book that’s there to prompt me when I forget about those fun, easy dishes you can make when you don’t want to make a complicated dinner. I love sheet dinners and love using my stoneware sheet pan in the oven to roast vegetables and meats and make pizzas, so this was a fun cookbook for me and I think I need a personal copy.

I already do some baking using a cookie sheet, but when I saw the title of this book, I was intrigued. I thought it was going to be a book that showed recipes for entire meals on one cookie sheet, but for the most part, no, so this was a little disappointing.

It does show recipes that can be made using a cookie / baking sheet and I did copy one for Roasted Brussel Sprouts, so it was not a complete waste, but as of now, the recipes I have found online work equally (if not better) well because many of them are for whole meals.

With a book titled One Sheet Eats, I expected to find mostly simple, easy to create, everyday meals. Instead, I found a collection of unique and different recipes. The book includes a variety: Appetizers, entrees, sides, snacks, pizzas, and desserts.

Some of the recipes require a lot of ingredients or are too involved to be last-minute meals and need a little planning; others, like the snacks, are quick and easy. Most of the ingredients required are readily obtained at the local supermarket but are not necessarily ones I usually keep on-hand, so some advance planning may be required.

The book has a nice layout. Almost every recipe has a full color photo and a short intro, plus estimated prep time. Small sidebars accompany some of the instructions and provide hints, tips, and prep suggestions. Some even include substitutions for ingredients. Overall, a nice addition to my cookbook shelf.

Another disappointing cookbook. I do a lot of sheet pan cooking and am always looking for new ideas and recipes. As someone living on my own at the moment I don't need appetizers or vegetables separate from main.

I tried the Greek chicken nachos. Using a bigger sheet pan I cooked all the pita chips at once. Then because I felt it would be dry I made a yogurt sauce and used that instead of mozzarella. I'm glad I did because even with the sauce the pita chips were still so dry and tasteless that after two days I threw them out instead of continuing to eat the rest with them.

When I picked up this book, I was hoping for some easy dinner ideas that combine veggies and protein, that can all be cooked at the same temperature. The “main dishes section is a little smaller than I was expecting, but I selected about 15 meals that I would potentially make, so I would recommend this book.

I was really looking for a variety of one-sheet meals for my family, and I didn't find a lot here that jumped out at me. A lot of them didn't seem especially kid-friendly (or maybe they're just not things *my* kids would prefer to eat). I did bookmark a few to try, though, so we'll see.

Another library book preview before buying. I might get it one day. Super simple recipes that can be done easy-peasy on a work night or for a quick sit-down weekend meal.

Probably more like 3.5 stars. Some good twists for when you want a simple sheet pan meal. Coming up with ideas is always the hardest thing for me.

Another great book with fantastic ideas, but most of the recipes weren't ones I could see myself making. I could see my 30ish year old daughter making a number of them. Much more her speed.

Recipe style? Most everything is designed to be thrown onto a baking sheet, so the recipes seem pretty approachable. Since you're essentially baking everything, a lot of the recipes are riffs on the same theme.
Any keepers? A few.
