Fun robotics projects that teach kids to make, hack, and learn! There's no better way for kids to learn about the world around them than to test how things work. The projects introduce core robotics concepts while keeping tasks simple and easy to follow, and the vivid, full-color graphics keep your kid's eyes on the page as they work through the projects.

Offers a kid-friendly design that is heavy on eye-popping graphics Focuses on basic projects that set your child on the road to further exploration Boasts a small, full-color, accessible package that instills confidence in the reader Introduces basic robotics concepts to kids in a language they can understand If your youngster loves to tinker, they'll have a whole lot of fun while developing their creative play with the help of Building Your Own Robots.
This book is great for what it is, which is a set of practical, down-in-the-homebrewed-components instructions that let kids (or beginning adults) build some simple robots. The instructions are clear, to the point of being repetitive at times, since they don't assume you've done/read the earlier builds if you're working on a later one. And the materials called out are easy to find, and cheap or sometimes essentially free, depending on what you have around the house.
What this is not is any kind of textbook or reference work on robotics. If you're looking for organized definitions and principles and theory, or any kind of instructions that'll let you enter your own Battlebot in next season's competition, keep looking. But this is an excellent book for a ground-level beginner who wants to make some mobile toys, have fun, and learn a few things while doing it.
