Since the day he stopped aging, Aiden has struggled against the darkness trying to claim him. He no longer denies he’s fighting a losing battle, he’s just hoping someone kills him before he gives in to the savage nature dwelling within him. Just when he believes he’ll lose the battle, he encounters Maggie, and for the first time in years, he has hope for his future.

Having grown up without a stable home, Maggie enjoys the security she’s worked hard to attain. Everything changes the night Aiden ends up in her ambulance. Now, not only does Maggie stand to lose everything she’s achieved, she’s beginning to think the mother she considered insane might not be.

With everything she knows torn away, Maggie realizes the more she loses, the more she might gain if she gives her trust to Aiden. However, when circumstances force them apart, Aiden is unsure if Maggie will be enough to bring him back from the darkness ravaging his soul.

3.5 solid STARS ★★★✬
This book is for you if you have nothing against vampire stereotypes (sans the garlic) and find bliss in steamy books with an easy and slightly foreseeable plot. Simple escapism.

Overall.
This book is literally all the stereotypes and exaggerated drama ... and then some. Colour me and my bookish unobtrusive heart satisfied and gloomy.

You can bring plenty of critique to the table that is Ravaged, namely that some of the bits and pieces fall into place a little too easily. If one needs pain to chain in their alter ego pretty much 24/7, it's just the tiniest bit unrelatable how that should vanish in a matter of seconds just because you find your S/O. Further, we can not possibly deny the fact that all the plots in the vampire awakenings series bear unmistakable similarities either.

Also, the attraction within a mating bond is somewhat problematic. If you see your S/O hugging someone of the gender they are attracted to and feel murderous instincts coming alive although you're not even a vampire, I urge you to look for help. It is in no way shameful to get some therapy sessions in, on the contrary!

On second thought, if you give the two last issues too much weight and still continue reading the series I'm not really sure how valid your points are, though.

However, ...

... the immersion quality of Ravaged is literally 10/10. Hear me out on this.

Nothing is as easy as kicking back with a lightweight narrative with an obvious final destination. Escapism is needed and I am not explaining myself further to you, damn it!

What’s happening.
I would like to take some time point out the most accurate evaluation of vampires that exists to this day:
‘With his looks, he could get a lot of women, but men were weird, and vampires were stranger.

Maggie has always suspected she's a bit different and one night while she's on ambulance duty, her patient proves it. From open spinal cord to fending off a bunch of savage vampires in 4 seconds is certainly not a transformation trained medics are used to.

The next thing she knows, Maggie's on the run with the stranger who has sharp teeth and just as sharp of a chin - ovary overload in 3... 2... 1...

Definitely better than the last book in this series. The heroine wasn't annoying so that is always a win. This one was very fast paced and had some great scenes. My only problem with it was that she also writes a cross series with this one and the books overlap and I didn't realize it until I was almost finished reading this one. So, now I'll have to figure out how I fit in that series with this one.

Very sweet scenes too with the hero. I always love a protective hero.

Quotes & Faves:

He slid his hand up to Maggie’s nape and cradled her head protectively against his chest.

I’m simply informing you that you are it for me, Magdalene Doe. There will never be another, he murmured as he rested his forehead against hers.

He chuckled as he kissed her neck.

Maggie laughed when he spun her across the sand as if they were dancing.

This is another wonderful tale in this brilliant series....can’t believe it’s book 7! Each book is so unique and I loved the cameos from so many of the other characters. Aiden and Maggie are both well written characters with lots of background and their chemistry is perfect....the dual POV works great with a few other POVs thrown in. Looking forward to seeing who is next!😁

Another great addition to this amazing series! With each released book, the Awakenings series has definitely become my favorite paranormal romance series and I have read quite a few.
I've been looking forward to Aiden's book since first meeting him in book two. There was just something about him that had me excited to see where his story would take me. He is the first character to walk right up to the cliff and almost fall which would propel him into utter destruction and savagery. Throughout each book, I've watched him in the background grow from a carefree young man to an unstoppable killing machine. He works with Ronan and his team destroying Savages, vampires who murder humans and peaceful vampires. Aiden has dark urges unlike any we've seen before. He desperately needs to find his mate.
In walks Maggie and just in time. Her story was a surprise in some aspects but I loved her quirky, easy going personality. She was fiercely independent and had no problem standing up for herself. It didn't matter who they were. She was perfect for Aiden and a perfect addition to the Byrne family.
I also loved all the action that took place from page one. I found myself reading faster with the adrenaline pumping through me. I definitely enjoyed this story. The only reason I didn't give five stars was the fact certain parts of the story had been done before in previous books. During those moments, I tended to get a little bored but they were few and far between. No matter what, I'm excited to continue reading this series along with the series that focuses on Ronan and his organization.

I enjoyed this book just as much as I have enjoyed each book in this series. I love that you get to meet new characters and still have a chance to get updates on the characters from earlier novels, though very rarely any of the mates. I get pulled in every time I start a book and have such a hard time putting it down before I finish, though I have to often since things like sleep and work interfere. The world they inhabit is ours but with a subtle twist.

Since Aiden stopped aging he has been waging a war against his dark impulses. Unlike his brothers who only had to deal with one dark impulse, poor Aiden is fighting against bloodlust, sex, violence, and death. His work with Ronan has helped to keep the darkness at bay but he starting to lose the battle and hopes someone will take him out before he gives in.

Maggie Doe comes from a less than stable background and swore that when she got old enough she would have things she never did, the main one being a home of her own. When Aiden ends up in Maggie's ambulance her life changes in ways she could have never expected. For Aiden he finds hope for a future he had given up on years ago.

This had a good amount of everything, sex, blood, and violence. I can't wait for more of the kids to mature and go out into the world. Number seven is perfect! Enjoy this as a standalone or part of the series.

** My listening time for this one and it was just as worthy as the others in the series have been. Tavia Gilbert is an excellent narrator who breathes life into each and every character whether male or female. My recommendation stands.

Ravaged is book 7 in Brenda K Davies' Vampire Awakenings Series.

I have read every book so far in this series and prefer some more than others but this one has to be my favourite so far.

The blurb gave the impression that Aiden's story would be quite intense. However, I wasn't ready for how intense it turned out to be. He not only had one demon to battle with inside himself but many. In all of the previous stories it is my opinion that none of them had to fight to retain their humanity more than Aiden.

And who better to be the mate of this strong being other than Magdalene Doe. Though she is in no danger of losing her humanity she has had to deal with a great deal in her life. She has spunk and sass that makes me love her character. But most of all her fearlessness makes me admire her. Her strength shines like a beacon.

Two passionate characters coming together can only create the most explosive and intense types of love. I adore this story which takes some unexpired turns.

I eagerly await for further books from this author. She is one of my favourites and I've loved every one of her books.

I knew Aiden's book was going to be intense. It had to be considering how much he struggled. But this might surpass even my expectations of just how intense it would be. Maggie is awesome. I love her name: Magdalene. She just takes everything in stride. She straps on that helmet and keeps plugging on no matter what happens. I love the big secret about her. It explains so much and it's a nice touch. Maggie has had a bit of a hard life, but she's done the best she could with it. Aiden though, his struggles are epic in proportion and Maggie has no idea just how bad they are for quite some time. I loved the ambulance action! And the end...I was a bit nervous on how it would turn out. This is not something I expected, but it turned out well!

First let me say, I LOVE this series and recommend all of the books in it that I've read thus far. That being said, up until I read this one, the first 2 were my favorites. That changed very quickly as this one drew me in from chapters 1 and 2 and I couldn't put it down. I love how it was different from the first 6 books and was less about the initial attraction and more of a chance of fate and circumstances. I don't want to give it away but I also really enjoyed the last 3 chapters of the book as it get fairly intense. HIGHLY recommend it, they all could be read as stand alone books but with how the story grows and develops from one to the next I recommend reading the whole series.

The miscommunication almost took me out. It was so annoying!!

The introduction to a new type of vampire lure was a little unsettling. Meaning it makes it seem like anyone can be impregnated by a vampire. I didn't really like that.

This book was action-packed. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters.

So good

I've loved this entire series but I've been waiting on Aidens book. It did not disappoint at all. I think this may have been my favorite book of the whole series. We always knew he was darker than the others and struggled more. I loved getting to see his whole story.

Maggie has struggled her entire life to overcome her mother being committed for being criminally insane. With no father that meant foster and group homes all her life. Now that she finally has her own place and is a respected EMT paramedic, Aiden blasts his way into her life, everything crashes in on her and she finds out she not who she thinks she is.

I fell in love with Aiden when I read how kind he was with Maggie over her plants and fish. If a guy doesn’t care about things or people that you care about, he’s not worth your trust or love. Didn’t quite cry in this story, but came very close.

Maggie’s background is very interesting. She’s not anything like I expected. Familiar details but put together in a different way.

I hope we come across Zeke again. I kind of like his character. He’s too nice a guy to have been working where he was and I hope he gets into something better now.

Footnote: 1) I have no problem with this being from two POVs, but I would like there to be some kind of separation or indication between the then so I can have a warning that the POV is changing.

2) Boston? Beach? Winter? That doesn’t sound fun.

Fave scenes: the fire extinguisher, Blond guys ‘clues, not inviting him in and Vicky watching the game.

Aiden embraced Maggie, his mate

This is book seven of the series Vampire Awakening. This book features Aiden, Liam and Sera’s fourth child. Aiden was carefree and loving until he reached vampire maturity and then all changed for him. He started to crave blood, sex, and violence all at once. Usually a purebred vampire only gets one. Declan confirmed and on rare occasions this does happen. Aiden pulled away from his family in Maine and tried to hide behind joking Ronan’s group who fight to save innocents. Things were turning bad for Aiden and he worried that he would become savage. However on a bad night where Aiden is attacked, Maggie and her partner Roger, both are EMTs, get a call to help someone in an alley and that person turns out to be Aiden. Their journey begins there. This was an interesting story about how Aiden embraced Maggie. I wish the siblings or Liam and Sera were in the story more. There is a happy ending. Read On!

WOW just finished reading at 1am could not put it down LOVED IT! I love all the books in this series and I have to say that this one was one of my favorites. I absolutely love Maggie she is so funny and entertaining that I found my self laughing at times while reading this book and who would not love Aiden I mean Damn what a man. I felt that Brenda hit this one out of the park both characters were a perfect match for each other and the story grabbed me right from the start and held me on until I finished it. I suggest to all the readers who have not read Brenda's Awakening series to start with book one and work you way to this book you will not be disappointed in fact you will find your self in a Vampire heaven with all the sexy vampires and will love all the stories. Can't wait for the Book 8 thanks again Brenda please keep them coming.

Loved Aiden’s Story

Great read. Really enjoyed the whole book. The writing was good and the storyline was great. Aiden and Maggie’s meeting was intense and I loved their evolving relationship. I loved her heritage and how it played a part in their story. I’m curious if anything will come of Maggie and Declan’s similarities. I would have loved to have read about Maggie meeting his entire family. I missed that part being included. The only irk I had in the book is how the the paragraphs will go from talking like it’s about Maggie and switching like it’s talking like Aiden. Its hard to explain. It confuses me sometimes and I have to go back and read it again. But it’s been like this is all the books so I’m getting better at moving along. As always, I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and/or the Alliance series.

INTENSELY ROMANTIC LOVE STORY

RAVAGED (Book 7 of the Vampire Awakenings Series) will keep you on the edge of your seat with a roller coaster of emotions, twists and turns. Aiden is on the road to self-destruction and is near death when Maggie shows up to save him. She doesn’t realize that she could be saving him in more ways than one. However, will Aiden be able to convince a fiercely independent Maggie that they belong together or will he let her go even though it will mean his death. This is a stand-alone novel but I highly recommend reading the entire Series. You will NOT be disappointed. Brenda K. Davis is an AMAZING writer and always gives her readers an awesome ride with every one of her stories.

I’ve loved this series since book 1. With each book the stories get more and more intense and man oh man this one has me on the edge of my sanity. Aiden and Maggie are amazing desperately but put them together and bam! Spicy!

Maggie growing up in the foster care system and not knowing who and what she really was... man that was heartbreaking. She’d been alone for so long, then enter Aiden.

Aiden is a man on a mission. Pain, sex and that rush of kill g the bad vampires is what fuels him, until he finds Maggie. She’s more than the EMT there to help him, she’s the one person that can stop the downward spiral he’s on.

But with any true love story there are roadblocks bumps and chaos they have to wade through in order to get their well deserved happily ever after.

I enjoyed this book more than I did the previous book in the series. This book gives us Aiden and Magdalene's story. Their story was one with a little bit of suspense, a lot of action, some steamy scenes, betrayal, misunderstandings and more. Aiden has found his mate, but he makes the choice to give her time to decide if she wants to be turned into a vampire to truly become his mate. He refuses to force her into a decision, but the consequences of that choice will be out of his hands, and he must deal with what comes his way. His family refuses to let him turn into a savage so they do what must be done. Aiden saved Mags life now she must save his. I enjoyed their story a lot and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

What a book, fantastic!

Brenda K. Davies did it again with the continuing story of the Byren family. This time it was Aiden he was fighting demons to stay sane. Being a purebred vampire is no fun after you reach maturity. Finding a mate is the only thing that can save him. Maggie Doe an EMT was with a strong stomach. Maggie doesn't have any family beside Roger her mentor and friend. Maggie has lived a hard life for someone so young but she is a survivor. Meeting Aiden could be the best or worst thing that could have ever happened to her. Davies wrote a book that is fantastic you can't wait to read the next page, then book.

How is it possible, each book in this series is more addicting than the last? Just 10% in, I found myself taking a short breather.
I've gripped my kindle to the point of white knuckles, teared up, held my breath, gasped, sighed..... I may have let the cursing flow out loud at times too.
Aiden has fought the demons within, while fighting the very thing he dreads of becoming.
Maggie's life has been cruel and unfair at best. Always needing control and never feeling whole. When she responds to a call, life takes her control away in order to give her the pieces to make her whole.
