Her Guardian Angel

Rate this book
After a difficult childhood and a turbulent stint in the military, Declan Burke finally got his act together. Now he’s a battle-hardened professional bodyguard who takes his job at McKay-Taggart seriously and his playtime and his playmates just as seriously. One thing he never does, however, is mix business with pleasure. But when the mysterious, gorgeous Suzanne D’Angelo needs his protection from a stalker, his desire for her burns out of control, tempting him to break all the rules…even as he’s drawn into a dark, dangerous world he didn’t know existed.

Suzanne is an earthbound angel on her critical first mission: protecting Declan from an emerging supernatural threat at all costs. To keep him close, she hires him as her bodyguard. It doesn’t take long for her to realize that she’s in over her head, defenseless against this devastatingly sexy human who makes her crave his forbidden touch.

Together they’ll have to draw on every ounce of their collective training to resist each other as the enemy closes in, but soon it becomes apparent that nothing could have prepared them for the menace to their lives…or their hearts.

Declan Burke and Suzanne D’Angelo

“Suzanne is living with her Primori.
Azagoth blinked at Hawkyn’s blunt statement. “She’s what?

Suzanne is a memitim, one of the earthbound angels who are assigned to protect important humans called Primori. The memitim are the sons and the daughters of Azagoth (i.e. the Grim Reaper and master of Sheoul-gra) and various Heavenly Angels. Suzanne hates her job. She only wants to be a chef and make people happy.

Declan works as a bodyguard for McKay-Taggart. He loves his job, but he has forgotten that once he play a very important role in a war between humans and demons (by the way the book cover contains spoilers LOL).

Declan is Suzanne's Primory and in order to protect him efficiently, she will pretend to be a rich girl who is in danger and needs a bodyguard. Declan will be surprised when he realises that this fragile little rich girl is stronger than him and she hides things from him like appearing and disappearing without being caught in the security cameras.
And there is also this guy, Hawkyn, who is extremely overprotective of her. Who is this woman? He will be enthralled by her.

“You surprise me.
“Why’s that?
“You’re not what I expected.

Suzanne is in love with Declan. We have seen the signs in the book “Hawkyn. Hawkyn, a memitim and Suzanne's brother, was worried about her.

Now that Suzanne is so close with Declan, she will not be able to resist her feelings.

“Oh, Jesus. The blood drained from his face. “I had sex with an angel.
Now was probably not the time to tell him she’d been a virgin. No, definitely not.

I was really wondering how these two series (Demonica Underworld and Masters and Mercenaries) could be combined - especially because I love Demonica series so f@cking much.
I LOVED it!

P.S. We definitely need the story of Jim Bob soon...

So two things to start with. One, I thought this was going to be a novella, but it turned out to be a full-length book. Two, I'll admit I was a little skeptical about how this author was going to make a paranormal book work in connection with the Masters & Mercenaries world. It turns out; it worked very well because the book was set in the Demonica Underworld world. <-- And I'll just say again this was my first foray into a crossover series and I seem to have been confused about the way it works. For some reason, I assumed that these books were going to take place in the M&M world with these other authors just writing the stories. But most of these crossovers are continuations of these author's own series with a few M&M characters thrown in. That really isn't a HUGE deal except for the fact that most of them require you have SOME knowledge of these author's previous books and characters.

description

That said, this was one of the better ones in that respect, and I read it without too much confusion. Although if I had to guess 98% of the secondary characters were from previous Demonica Underworld books. In any case, the writing was quite good. It was well paced. The plot was engaging and had me curious enough that I may give the Demonica Underworld series a try when I have some extra time. It had a great cast of secondary characters. The sex scenes were fairly hot (but there were not many of them). I liked both Suzanne and Declan. It was pretty low angst, and there wasn't any OW or OM drama. I've read five out of the six books in the crossover so far, and this one was definitely one of the better ones. Therefore, yours truly is going to give it two thumbs up.

This one was so imaginative and also a crossover novel.
I am new to Lexi Blake masters and mercenaries but have been a fan from the beginning of the Demonica world.
This is about Memitim Suzanne the favourite sister of Hawkyn.
Suzanne's primori charge is Declan and he is in danger but her usual warning system for detection is not working so she comes up with a scheme to ensure his ongoing safety.
She sets herself up in a DeAngelo mansion and gets the unfallen Cipher to create a rich heiress background and also a stalker problem and hires Declan as her personal live-in bodyguard.
Suzanne and Declan had such personal chemistry it leapt off the page.
I also really loved the fact that Declan was a bit of a nerd alongside his kick-ass persona.
I adored his inner geek just so much.
Suzanne is a young angel a baby at seventy-five she does her job but she is different from the other Memitims in as such she had a happy human life and liked it.
She longs for more than her present existence and from the start had a major crush on her human charge.
This story sets the stage for events in the next one and we also get to get more of an insight into cipher and his happy go lucky personality which I imagine is all set to change with his betrayal and kidnap and transformation into a true fallen angel.
Such a great addition to the series and can't wait to read Cipher next.

I had mixed feelings going into this book the whole paranormal mixed in with one of my favorite series. Declan Burke is a bodyguard for McKay-Taggart who takes his job serious he is also one of the only one who isn't a Dom. Declan has had a hard life his father never wanted him and even tried to kill him his mother used him to blackmail his married father who was a Senator. Suzanne D’Angelo is an angel trying to get her wings but she is unhappy she also likes to cook. Suzanne's job is to protect Dec so when she finds out that their is a demon after him she decides to hire him as her bodyguard telling him that she has a stalker. Suzanne is also a virgin and it would be breaking the rules to get involved with someone that she is protecting but she doesn't care she wants Dec. This book was a surprise I didn't think that I would like it because of mixing one of my favorite series with a paranormal read and also because this was my first time reading Ms. Ione's work. I really liked that her brother Hawk was so protective of her and didn't want her to get in trouble. This book was well written with the errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading about the next bodyguard to fall in love.

Two words for you: Kynan and Wraith. These two made this book for me. My faves showing up in this book (well, Kynan was just mentioned but, Lawd, that was enough for me) were such a highlight.

Well, in all honesty, I did enjoy this book and they were the icing on the cake.

This is the story of Suzanne, one of Azagoth's Memitim children. She has of course, fallen for her Primori and has to have him move in with her to protect him from his threat, since her heraldi is not notifying her. This leads to some really fun moments. However, it's when they have to reveal the truth to Declan that things really start to get interesting.

I loved all the little reveals we had in this story. I am dying to know who in the Demonica world is writing the Demonica comic books that our hero loves so much. And oh my goodness the "spoiler alert" moments had me rolling. We get a touching scene between Azagoth and Lilliana with a bit of a surprise thrown in as well.

I recommend reading these little Demonica Underworld novellas. We get good entertaining stories and getting these revisits from some of our favorites from the Horsemen and Demonica series are an absolute delight.

ETA my quotes and faves

Quotes & Faves:

“And what in all that’s sleazy and unholy are you wearing? Hawkyn to Suzanne and it was plain hilarious.

“I didn’t steal her from you, sir. Declan wrapped his arm around her shoulder and held her tight against his big chest. “She’ll always be your daughter. I’m just here to worship her.

I loved this book! A crossover between Larissa Ione’s Demonica series and Lexi Blake’s Masters & Mercenaries, this book is a fantastic combination of alpha male, strong heroine, chemistry, banter, dirty flirting, romance, sexy time and paranormal badassery. It’s a fun read with a fantastic set up, and I loved it!

Demonica is my all-time fave PNR series, so of course I was excited to dive back into the Demonica Underworld a spin off from the original series. Suzanne is a Memitim an earthbound guardian angel who, unlike her siblings, dreams of the normal human life she used to have rather than the dream of earning her wings and ascending to heaven. But she is trapped by her destiny, and the duty assigned to her. Her latest primori is a human named Declan Burke, an ex-soldier and mercenary now working for McKay-Taggart, and a male that has her feeling all sorts of things she’s never felt before. She is tasked with protecting him, but when a dangerous threat emerges without the usual pre-warning, she figures that the safest way to keep him safe is to pose as a rich socialite and hire him as her live-in bodyguard so that she can keep watch over him 24/7.

Declan is less than impressed with his latest assignment but he takes the job, even though it means being in the constant presence of the woman he can’t get off his mind. He never mixes business with pleasure, but he is deeply attracted to Suzanne, even though she appears to be a vapid, spoiled princess. But there’s something beneath her polished veneer that intrigues him like no other. And when strange things start to happen, he knows that she holds the answers to his questions, and he’s determined to get to the bottom of it all.

This is such a fun set-up. Usually in PNR books it’s the heroine who is clueless up against her paranormal badass hero. But in this case we have a human badass hero who doesn’t realise that the woman he wants is an equally badass paranormal heroine, and it’s such a great twist! Add to that their insane chemistry, all of the heated stares, the innuendo and the flat out, unhidden attraction, and the anticipation just waiting for something to happen between them was fantastic!

But the demon that is after Declan is particularly nasty, which necessitates Suzanne’s fellow memitim, other beings from the Underworld, and a friendly demon to help keep him safe. All of the cameos are Demonica fangirl heaven, with all of the banter, teasing and smartassery from characters that I love so much.

“Nice to meet ya, human. I’m Wraith. The demon grinned, flashing vicious-looking fangs. “And I’ll be your guide to the nightmares that live in your brain.

And as the excitement builds to the inevitable final battle, Declan and Suzanne will be forced to put their feelings to the ultimate test as they are faced with a new reality, and the decision about what they truly want from their lives. It's a great mix of action and the paranormal, but there is a nice emotional depth as Suzanne and Declan figure everything out, and the love story that develops is just gorgeous.

“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. You…and this world you’ve opened up for me .. I want a life with you, and I want a life in your world.

The crossover part is done really well. I haven’t read Masters & Mercenaries, but I never felt lost, and as a part of the Demonica series, this book fits in seamlessly. There’s continuation of the storyline started in , including some pretty significant plot developments for some of the side characters - including Azagoth and Lilliana - and I can’t wait to see how that continues to play out. You could read this one as a standalone, but you could get a bit lost with all of the characters that are mentioned, and be aware of spoilers for the main series.

Overall, I loved this one. It was fun, sexy and romantic with just the right amount of paranormal badassery, and I loved it.

4.5 stars!

I loved pretty much everything about this book. I laughed so hard when Declan broke down his desire for every bit of Suzanne. He totally objectified her, but she did the same to him and it was very hot. Honestly, these two were burning up the pages and I just enjoyed the ride.

Declan is Suzanne's primori and while we don't know why he merits an angel's protection, we know that he'll be protected. What better way to do that then to hire him as a bodyguard, so while he thinks he's guarding Suzanne, she's doing whatever it takes to keep him safe. And when the truth comes out, Declan took it like a champ (while making me laugh). I was thrilled that these two found a way to be together and find some happiness.

There were obviously some tie-ins to the overall Demonica universe and we got to hear from Azagoth and Lilli (what was that about?), Hawkyn, and get glimpses of past and future characters. I'm so upset about what happened to Cipher and am looking forward to reading his book to see what's next for him.

It was kind of weird approaching the Daemonica world from a different angle and I'm not familiar with the Masters & Mercenaries series, but I still enjoyed this very much. It looked like Larissa was dropping som breadcrumbs for upcoming Daemonica novels so I'm super excited for what's to come!

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I can't lie. When I saw that there would be a paranormal romance in this set of crossover novellas with Lexi Blake's world, I was skeptical at best. How would those two worlds merge? Would I believe it? I kind of wish I would've read the more recent Lexi Blake's stories that have been introducing the characters featured in these novellas, but I didn't and in the end that was ok.

Declan, the hero of this story works security for McKay-Taggart and also spends quite a bit of time eating at Top. I've seen both of these from what I read in Lexi's books and it was fun actually fun to see some paranormal creatures interacting there! But our hero is also

Suzanne is a memitim. An earthbound angel trying to win her wings by protecting humans she's assigned to. Declan happens to be one of them and he has become special to her. When a demon starts a series of mental attacks on him she decides to break the rules and make contact to keep a close eye on him and figure out what's after him. Posing as a socialite in need of a bodyguard, she hires Declan as personal protection. The sparks quickly fly from there.

Novellas are always a bit hard for more to buy into the love, but there certainly was a quick attraction. I liked seeing these two together and also I really liked Suzanne's character. How she's using her angelic abilities with food. Her dreams and struggles. I think she's one of the more likeable females in the Demonica Underworld series so far.

If there is one thing that Larissa Ione is always good for is delivering great chemistry and characters you fall in love with while giving you a sense of family and unity. We get to visit with some older loved characters, my favorite cameo was Wraith because OMG I miss him! But I think we also get to understand the Underworld a little more. Angel politics and a new war brewing. This was actually a pretty exciting read and it gave me some old Demonica vibes. I can't wait to see where Ms. Ione takes this world next.

From the sounds of this book and the authors note, I will say this might be an important read to transition into the new spin off series. So if you plan on reading the Demonica world and haven't been keeping up with the Demonica Underworld then I suggest now is the time to start catching up. The new spin off series is set to come in 2019!

There's always been something about Larissa Ione that draws me to her stories - they have both the paranormal aspects that i enjoy and the realism of the romantic suspense that makes you invested in the storyline and the characters.

I've had the chance to read some of her Demonica novels before getting into this book, which is a crossover in the Lexi Blake Masters & Mercenaries series, and i have to say, that i really did enjoy this more than i thought i would. I wasn't too sure on how this author would be able to bring in the paranormal aspects of her series into the romantic suspense that is the Masters & Mercenaries series, but it really did work out very well.

The fact that we had the chance to see this crossover just showed how different authors can come together, take a storyline and change it so that it does make sense. I was really curious on seeing this story come to life that started during Hawkyn's book, and Larissa Ione did a really good job in joining all these different stories to bring us Her Guardian Angel. I really did enjoy this book and i'm really looking forward to finding out where this author is going to go next and how it'll impact Lexi blake's series as well.

Her Guardian Angel is unique among all Demonica stories, because this title is a crossover between Larissa Ione's Demonica and Masters & Mercenaries series by Lexi Blake. Now, I don't read the latter, but even you don't read any Blake's book and only follow Demonica, you can still follow the story. It's recommended to read the previous installment especially Azagoth and Hawkyn, since the heroine Suzanne is also Memitim. She is also Hawkyn's full sister (they shared the same angel mother), so you can expect Hawkyn to go helicopter brother to her. As for Declan, his name already mentioned in Hawkyn's novella. But maybe he's part of Blake's world since he seems like a integral character or something like that.

If you wonder, how the heck a paranormal romance genre can be infused into what seems like a general contemporary romance genre, Ione try to did her best here to mixed both genres. Of course some parts feel like jumble a bit and seems like out of characters/theme. For example like Suzanne and Declan's first sex scene that happen in pleasure dungeon-slash-torture chamber, the light BDSM scenes feels like out of place. It's not that Ione didn't write about BDSM once in Demonica. I believe she have that element in Shade's book, but not too apparent like what happen in this novella. Maybe even she try to make Her Guardian Angel a Demonica book, she also write some of the Master and Mercenaries element. The BDSM part is light, tame compared to another BDSM book I'd read. But it's just seems out of place. I also feel the mention of the superhero culture, like Marvel and DC alike can be too jarring. Yeah, I know MCU is now an item, and apparently a fact that Declan is a comic nerd is cute. I just found myself rolling my eyes when things like Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther mentioned. But, that's just me :D.

As for the character, I like Suzanne more than Declan, since Declan is like your usual alpha hero with an emotional baggage. Suzanne is a Memitim, yet actually she doesn't want to be one. She doesn't want to be a fully Angel, and just want to have her own cooking show. She love to cook, and like to make people happy. Usually this kind of character make me gritted my teeth with all that toxic positivity but Suzanne didn't have it in her bones. She feels like a honest person (or angel) to me, despite her lie to keep Declan safe.

There's some revelation for why Declan being hunted by demon and something bad happen to Cipher. Poor Cipher, I like his personality already and he seems like a big bro to Suz. There's also some sub-plot regarding Azagoth and Lilliana's relationship. Still going south apparently, but at least they try to work their relationship. Not one of Demonica's best novella, but you might still want to read this, because the story will lead to what happen with Cipher and what will wait him in the future.

Her Guardian Angel is a crossover that mixes Larissa Ione's Demonica Underworld with Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries world, it's actually part of a collection of crossover novellas in the Masters and Mercenaries world that is designed to introduce readers to a range of new authors and worlds. I have to confess I've only recently discovered Lexi Blake's writing so I'm new to the Masters and Mercenaries series (it's DEFINITELY on my radar now and I plan to check it out asap!) but I love the Demonica world so I couldn't miss this story and I think it works well as an introduction to either series.

Declan is a professional bodyguard who works for McKay-Taggart, the company I believe is central to the Masters and Mercenaries series. He takes his work seriously and prefers more dangerous jobs so when he's tasked with babysitting a rich socialite he's not exactly thrilled with the idea. Suzanne isn't what she first appears though, she's actually one of the memitim, an earthbound angel who is tasked with protecting important humans until she can earn her place in heaven. Declan is being targeted by a demon and needs her protection so the easiest way for her to keep an eye on him is if she's around him all day long.

I'm not going to say much more about the plot but this was another fabulous paranormal romance from Larissa Ione. I think she did a brilliant job of introducing new readers to a few characters from each series, she definitely did enough to make me curious to check out the Masters and Mercenaries books and I enjoyed catching up with characters I already know from the Demonica Underworld. As a Demonica fan I'm excited by the direction this series is taking and I can't wait to read more about Suzanne's siblings. Suzanne and Declan were a great couple who went through a lot together in a short space of time and that baptism of fire created a strong bond between them. They had brilliant chemistry but also worked well together as partners and I'm sure we'll see more of them as the series continues.

This crossover made my paranormal heart sing. I have read almost all of the Demonica series that crosses into the Master and Mercenaries world and what a great fit this was.

Having read about the Demonica characters definitely helped the background of this story but I think if you didn't know all the in and outs this story would still be enjoyable. Larissa put enough background to fill in much of the story and give her underground world life.

Declan is newer to McKay-Taggart and about to start a new assignment far, far away from the place he is calling home until he falls, literally, and some unexplainable things start happening to him. Declan made my geekness sing. He's this comic book junkie in a hunky package. To keep him local while making sure the strangeness ceases he gets hired as a bodyguard, but this is no ordinary job.

Suzanne is a angel on her first mission. She needs to keep her charge safe while her and her brothers try to figure out why there is a demon after Declan. So she becomes the rich heiress with a stalker. Suzanne is completely a Larissa creation. She is fearless and quirky. She loves to cook and wields a mean sword. She wants more than what life has in store from her even though her wants are completely forbidden.

Full of action, laughs, heat and favorite past characters this book was one I enjoyed every minute of. It also sets you up for what is coming next. There are pieces to the overall story that were put into place and a few diffents stories that could come next. It would also be a good introduction to one of my favorite paranormal series. I also might say my favorite of the crossover books I have read so far.

Declan Burke isn’t happy when he’s pulled off the assignment he has been prepping for in the jungle by his boss Ian Taggart to act as a babysitter for a rich client who has a stalker. He’s not a fan of the overly wealthy since his own family pretty much ignored him his entire life. But his client, Suzanne D’Angelo doesn’t act like the socialites he’s dealt with in the past . . . and his attraction for his out of this world.

Suzanne D’Angelo doesn’t really have a stalker. She’s an earthbound angel whose first mission is to protect Declan from any and all supernatural threats, including the nasty demon that is currently stalking him. The closer she gets to Declan, the more she realizes that she’s head over heels for him, even if a relationship between them is forbidden. She knows she’ll do anything to keep him safe . . . . and to enjoy his touch if only for just one night.

As Declan is drawn deeper into a world he thought only existed in comic books, he and Suzanne are also drawn deeper into their attraction and need for one another. They’ll need to place all their trust in one another to eliminate the threat against Declan and those he cares about while also working to do their part in the war that is coming between good and evil.

As a huge fan of Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercenaries series, I wasn’t sure how a book with her characters could be set in a paranormal setting, but Larissa Ione totally made it work. I felt like I was able to jump into the Demonica world with the help of the provided glossary and was able to thoroughly enjoy Declan and Suzanne’s story.

Suzanne is a complete bada$$ in this story. Even though she struggles to find her place as an earthbound angel and forget her ties to her human life, she refuses to let that interfere with keeping Declan safe. She’s willing to give up her future to be with him for as long as she can be, even if it’s only a brief time. She knows what she wants, and it’s Declan.

I was very excited to learn Declan’s back story. I love how his geekiness came full circle as he learns his comic book obsession is more legitimate than he ever could have imagined. His ability to adapt to his altering reality is also well written and feels like this bit of paranormal could really be happening.

This book has hot and steamy fun and more action than you can imagine. It flows well and is fast paced keeping readers turning page after page. I have to say, I really enjoyed my first journey into the Demonica world. 5 stars.

Buonasera lettrici!

A presto.

I have to be honest…I wasn’t quite convinced that a crossover could occur between a paranormal series and a contemporary romantic suspense series, but I love both worlds separately and Larissa Ione and Lexi Blake are excellent storytellers, so I decided to venture into new territory and see how it goes. And, I have to say, overall, I really enjoyed Declan and Suzanne’s story, and I think the main reason this crossover worked as well as it did is because it was set in Ione’s Demonica World…I’m not sure how readers would have reacted to a paranormal character entering the Masters and Mercenaries world, so it was a good call on the part of the authors to bring one of the McKay-Taggart bodyguards into the deadly, decadent, and devious world that readers have come to know and love.

Not much is revealed about Suzanne D’Angelo, but once her mission and her otherworldly abilities are shown, readers understand why Suzanne hired Declan Burke to be her bodyguard and why this earthbound angel (Memitim) watches his back as much as he watches hers.

It’s quite intriguing to witness how Declan handles the new environment that he enters because there are many attributes that align quite nicely with the dominant man he is, and while he attempts to hold true to his philosophy of not mixing business with pleasure, there’s just something about Suzanne that makes him want to give into his forbidden desires and the fact that she can’t seem to resist herself either makes their need for one another bypass anything sensible and head straight towards satisfying their lustful thoughts.

Because Her Guardian Angel reads more like a novel than a novella, I think readers new to this paranormal world will receive enough backstory to understand everything that occurs, and while there are quite a few supporting characters present that readers may not know, there’s still enough interaction and introductions that keep the focus on the present events and then open up the world to further investigation if readers enjoyed what they read.

Declan fit well into Suzanne’s world, even if he became part of it under false pretense, and the fact that he couldn’t stay true to his separation of business and pleasure speaks to just how in sync these two become and just how overwhelming attraction can be even in the face of adversity.

So we've got a bodyguard romance on our hands... but Suzanne is technically Declan's bodyguard while he's hired under false pretenses to be hers? It's nuts but I kinda love it.

Not much to say about this book. It's a fluffy romp and has moments that were funny, others that were delectable, and a few instances of continued angst carried over from the previous installment in this series.

If anything, this book just made me want to cook all my favorite comfort foods... and I could really go for some pasta right about now. Damn it, Suzanne.

Azagoth & Lilliana are still on a physical "break", and while I absolutely get why Lilliana instated this, I hate it (because I hate prolonged conflict on a personal level. Not because it's bad from a narrative standpoint - if anything, I appreciate her having a backbone and wanting Azagoth to grow and become better without using her as a crutch... BUT STILL!)

Also, the Lord, in His infinite mercy, decided to bless me with more Wraith - which I DESPERATELY needed. I love that mf-er so much. Easily the biggest highlight of the book for me.

Not much else to say. I'm nearly finished with my binge read of this series... just a couple more to go!

Suzanne is a Memitim angel assigned to protect Declan, who's a Primori. Declan works for a security firm and has no idea that there's a dangerous demon hunting him. Suzanne needs to keep Declan close in order to protect him. What does she do? She cooks up a ruse about a stalker and hires him as her bodyguard. When in fact she's the one secretly protecting him 😂 I love Larissa Ione's mind 😂

I really enjoyed this one! Suzanne and Declan were great together. I love that Declan is all muscle, but also a total comic book nerd. Suzanne has a unique power when it comes to cooking and I really enjoyed getting to know her better.

As usual, I love revisiting the Demonica world. There's some development with Azagoth and Liliana and I'm excited to see where the author will take their story. I'm also nervous to find out what the heck happened to Cipher. I can't believe how close I am to being 💯 caught up with this series.

P.S. Freaking Jim Bob 😂

Her Guardian Angel felt like it was the longest book out of the six. Unlike some of the other books in the crossover, this one didn't make me feel like I had to have some knowledge of the world to get fully into to the story. It did make me wanna read the rest of the books though. I liked the universe and the characters seemed interesting. I still cannot wrap my mind around the idea of having angels and demons in the M&M world, to be honest. I liked Declan and Suzanne. Ian is a lot more present in Her guardian angel than he is in the other novellas and the book got lots of points for that. The book did feel a little too long for me, but I liked the authors writing and the Demonica world, so I will go with 4-stars for Her guardian angel.

This was a great addition the the Demonica world and the M&M world.

I loved Suzanne, loved that while she didn't like her job, she did her best to protect Declan. Her idea of hiring Declan was great! I liked how they got to know each other. I knew it wouldn't take long before Declan noticed the different things about Suzanne. Didn't really expect the truth to come out, nor did I expect the role that Declan had. By the end I loved all the changes that Suzanne and Declan are going through. It makes me excited to read up coming Demonica books, to see where things are going from here.

Sexy Novella

Super sexy cross over novella as it blends Ione’s urban fantasy world with that of the real world of Lexi Blake’s series. In this book one of Demonica’s Memitim is guarding a Taggert security employee. The results are sexually explosive, and it makes for a good cross over novella.
I know some readers don’t like cross overs but in order to really understand Cipher the next novella, this one is a must in the Demonica world.

It's been quite a while since I visited the Demonica world, so it was nice to dip my toe back in the steamy waters with this novella. I'm not familiar with the crossover series this was part of, but you really don't need to be for this story. Having skipped the other Demonica short stories, though, I felt a little lost to a few of the newer characters and references to some of those ongoing stories. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this story and the characters of Suzanne and Declan.
