Three sisters...one devastating secret.

Faith Alexandria Morrell, the oldest of a mysterious trio of sisters, lives a troubled life and guards a horrifying secret. Yet few, least of all her new church family, would believe this always-impeccably-dressed woman is so utterly lost. But what lies beneath the surface of Faith's carefully constructed veneer could completely destroy her.

Needing help, Faith and her sisters, Hope and Charity, join Followers of Jesus Faith Worship Center. This new mega church, led by the dreadlock-wearing, Holy Ghost-filled Pastor George Landris, just may offer the solace she needs. But Faith soon discovers that all is not well in her new church home: Pastor Landris's marriage may not be as solid as everyone thinks and he's struggling to finance the church building; Thomas, the pastor's deadbeat brother, is diagnosed as bipolar; and Johnnie Mae, the pastor's wife, is facing some tough choices regarding her ailing mother's care. How can Faith and her sisters find comfort here when so many are wrestling with their own issues? And when one sister suffers a crushing collapse, prayer may be the only way to unravel the mystery shadowing Faith and her sisters--the blessed trinity.

What I loved about "Blessed Trinity"...

I found this read truly one great read that you will not be able to put down this inspirational read until the very end. This novel is the first in the series and what a read. I loved this beginning series with Pastor George Landris and Johnnie Mae Taylor Landris. Truly it wasn't a smooth ride for the Landris after moving to Alabama and starting a new ministry... Jesus Faith Worship Center. Be ready for lots of drama in the church, with their family... and those three interesting women that comes into their lives....and the 'secret' that will come to the surface only to change many people's lives.

In the end you will have a truly one amazing Christian fiction read that will only lead you to want to read more from this author.

I would've given this book 4 stars however, I couldn't get pass the way the characters talked. I listed to the book on audo so maybe it was the narrator that just ruined it for me. She had this serous sourthern/country accent and the main characters talked like the book was written in the 20's or 30's. I know many pastors and pastors wives and they don't talk like this. It was way toooooo much and over the top. I mean seriously when behind closed doors are you really calling your husband...PASSSTTORR (yes I drug it out because that's how the narrator sound)
I may give the second book a chance..not sure though.

While I only gave this book three stars, it was a good read. I struggled in the beginning it seem to be moving very slow, but I must say Vanessa really knows how to keep you wanting to know more. I especially like the opening of each chapter with a scripture that related to the chapter. Didn't really get the relationship with Pastor McKnight and Pastor Walker. Maybe I missed something, but it wasn't clear to me it seem as if there was something going on, but it never came out.

The part of the book I actually liked was how scripture passages were woven into the book with some explanations.

Otherwise, I kept reading the book thinking that the plot would improve. It didn't. And split personalities? Really?!?

I thought this was a mediocre read. I kept reading because I was expecting more and although there was a nice twist at the end, I never got the "more" I was looking for...

Well written tale

3 women: assertive, in control Faith...shy, easily intimidated Hope; loving, patient, dependable Charity.
2 brothers, at one point working together in ministry, the next estranged. A move to a new city...a start ofna new church. A group of preachers in the city who seem opposed to the new pastor & his ministry calling.
A growing church. A dream of something bigger than just church.
A man & woman in distress.
An infertile couple.
Put them all together & watch Jesus work.
A blessing of a book.

I absolutely love this series and all books VDG has written. :-) They read like the real-life story of people that are like your own family or friends. You have to read the next one to know what happen to your "crazy cousins".

With this being Mental Heath awareness month, this book was on time and very affirming about not letting Mental illness be a stigma. (Very fluid reading)

Joining a church is an awesome experience for anyone who is on a Christian walk of faith. Such was no less than the truth for Faith Alexandria Morrell who joined Followers of Jesus Faith Worship Center. But, just like many who join a church; she came with a past, with secrets, and heavy burdens. Such a past that it completely eludes those that she is attempting to get close to at the church. While wanting to help the First Lady of the church Mrs. Johnnie Mae Taylor-Landris, the issues of Faith begin to show which lead to a cataclysmic size ending that no one will see coming or let alone think would be possible.
Being the First Lady of a church is never an easy task, same being true for a Pastor of a church. Let alone being the Pastor of a mega church. This being the life that Johnnie Mae lives with her Pastor/Husband George Landris. But still being a Holy Ghost filled couple doesn’t erase the challenges of being a human at all. In fact, being a man of the cloth that makes you a target. Does being a Pastor and First Lady give you the strength to be able to stand against the darts of the enemy whether that enemy is members of your own church? Heaven forbid that it is your own family, and no please no, not a fellow laborer of the gospel.
Blessed Trinity will take you through the ins and outs of a church that certainly is no stranger to trials and triumphs. The question that has to be asked is how well do they know The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit? This book is certainly a read for anyone who loves Christian fiction.

For me the saving grace of this book was the scripture and sermonic references. The story was interesting. Writing OK but I probably would have benefited from reading the books that preceded this offering. It was clear that there was a back story that would have filled in the gaps I experienced in this book. Nevertheless it is an interesting story about "three" sisters and their relationship to a minister and his family. There are frequent references to the high drama in the Black church that were provocative but did not quite it the mark for me because the characters were less developed than the principal characters. I like the writing style however so I may work backwards and read the books that might explain events that were referenced in this book. The writer makes an effort to fill in the gaps but the characters seem to have had a long history of drama and maneuvering. My advice, read the books before this one in order to fully appreciate the story.

This book was spiritually inspirational......with a touch of mystery thrown into the mix! The character development kind of took up the majority of the first half of the book. After that, the book kind of took off. Parts of the book seemed predictable, but it was still a very good read.

The only downfall (not of the book but on my end) is that I wish that my copy were an actual book, and not an electronic version. There are so many parts that spoke spiritually to my heart.....I just want to tag it up with post-its so that I can go back and refer to it. =)

I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

I couldn't finish this book as much as I tried. After wasting 8 days reading it and only being 32% thru, I finally gave up. I've read Christian fiction before, but this was overkill.

I don't like goody-two-shoe characters AT ALL and that's what I was getting from the Pastor and his wife. I didn't read the synopsis before I started this book. I went strictly on reviews. I just read the synopsis and I see there are a lot of secrets that are going to come out, but I don't have it in me to keep reading until I get to that part.

This was a start of a new series, but still had Pastor Landis mentioned in this book as well. She added new characters like Charity, which refers to the bible about these three characteristics that God wants each one of us to have. She fooled me, remarkable, until I got to the end and realized it was all one person.

I discovered this title while browsing audiobooks at my current library of employment. Not sure if the title was a give away or i'm just familiar with multiple personalities. This was ok for having something going in the car, but at the end the christian themes seeemed a little heavy - just my opinion.

Blessed Trinity introduces the reader to sisters Faith, Hope and Charity, three unique individuals...but very much the same. Pastor George Landris and his wife, Johnnie Mae have moved to Alabama to start a new ministry and are faced with many, many obstacles.
I was blessed by this book, and would recommend it to others. On to the next installment!

I found this book a little hard to get into at the start, but once I got going I really liked it. A story about a pastor and his wife starting a new church and how God works in their lives and brings them into contact with some young ladies that need help. Mental illness and aging are themes that are touched on.

The story had potential. Great scripture references and good character development. The story takes too long to get to the point. It concludes but I feel like the reader gets cheated out of a solid ending.

Mental illness is real! There are so many stigmas surrounding it, but it's doesn't change that it's real.

This book was inspirational and In my opinion Ms Vanessa does a marvelous job of portraying the process.
