And while her eerie powers have frightened others away, Neil isn't running. And when Claire comes face-to-face with danger, he becomes her protector—as well as her lover. Now, Claire and Neil must confront the past and save the life of a young innocent. But there is a killer lurking in the background who wants them both dead before they can unravel his dirty secrets. And he's been very busy . . .

Interesting -- a cross between Romantic Suspense (its official genre) and paranormal romance. The lead character, Claire, is a triplet and all 3 siblings have some psychic ability -- Claire gets feelings and if she gets physically close to 1 or more people, she can get a barrage (sp?) of emotions hitting her all at once -- needless to say, not a good thing.

Enter Neil Olafson, her new neighbor. They mix like oil & water until one day Claire is attacked and Neil discovers her unconscious on the floor. The action really takes off from here as they search for answers to this mysterious attack.

Danger builds and Neil suffers "accidents". There is also a side story about a missing child from Neil's past that works well.

It's funny that this book has an extremely sexy cover and yet ithe sex scenes almost skimmed over although it does have some strong sexual tension. The first chapter is awesome, then the first half of the book is slow and a little boring but the second half it gets exciting and interesting again. The minor character of Mary Jane is really underdeveloped for the role she plays, author really should have fleshed that character out.

I read the second book of this trilogy first and really liked it. I was a little disapointed in this one. I still am looking forward to reading the third book of this series.

I am going to make this short and concise.
The story of Claire and her sisters having telepathic powers was written well, I will give the book that.
But soon after Claire and Neil (her neighbour) meet, I found the story seemed to drag on. I thought some scenes could have definitely been extended more with some more depth to the characters emotions and thoughts. There were a few scenes where dilemmas were brought into the book and then never truly explained. All in all the writing is not bad, the storyline was good, but I feel like the execution left the reader wanting.

3.5 stars. I picked this up at a second hand book store looking for an easy read. I was a bit put off by the cover but after reading the prologue I was intrigued. It dragged a bit but the suspense was interesting...which is a genre I'm just exploring.

This was a predictable ‘thriller starting a doormat for the heroine and an asshole for the hero. I would have DNFed but I read it for my blog.

It had potential but got bogged down in all the siblings and their psychic powers and explanations without explaining and a mysterious evil- just not streamlined enough to make sense and stay compelling

A different spin on 3 sisters with psy ability. Good characters interesting twist and turns. It is a older series I may try to find the next one in the series if possible.

This would get negative stars if I could manage it. Total waste of time. No redeeming qualities.
This is what drove me crazy about this book, emphasis mine.
Then Claire, the intuitive, the empath, the most vulnerable.

“Be careful, Claire. I feel it stirring. I would stop it if I knew how. Protect yourself and stay away from large bodies of water. You’re most vulnerable ٳ.

They were in contact now, reassuring each other, the elder sisters checking on Claire, an empath and the most vulnerable.

Can you say 'vulnerable' one more time? I think I missed the point of that paragraph, were you implying she's .....vulnerable?
That isn't bits taken out of context from separate parts of the story, that's the whole awkward passage as it reads on the page. And if that were the only time it would be fine but she pulls the same stunt all through the book. Every possible bit of information is repeated over and over and over sometimes within a paragraph or a sentence of the last time you were told that particular bit of info. It's the same with the dialog it seems like the characters spend most of the book rehashing the same things when they talk. You'd think it would be frustrating for the characters, having the same conversation a dozen times. It was certainly frustrating to read. I'm not stupid I don't need to hear something five times before I understand it, but this author seems to like to beat you over the head with everything.

The Bartel triplets had a rough childhood what with being psychic and all it entails. This is Claire's story...the youngest and an empath so the most vulnerable.

Claire moves to Montana because she can't survive with too many people around since she absorbs their feelings, moods, tempers, etc. When her neighbor dies and her nephew moves into the house...the sparks fly. Neil Olafson is a builder of campers and the noise level is astronomical causing Claire much upset. Eight years ago, Neil's six month old son was stolen from a campground. He has spent the last eight years searching for his son with no success. Claire (and her family) help Neil search using many psychic methods. Because their isn't enough stress in their lives, someone is also trying to kill Claire and someone else is trying to kill Neil.

This is a real roller coaster of an adventure with lots of suspenseful mystery included. This book is a slow starter and has many things are repeated again and again which I found tedious but all in all a very good start to this series.

A sexy paranormal romantic suspense. I enjoyed London's writing and story.

This is the first in a trilogy about triplets with ESP. All three have different abilities, and in this one, we follow the development of Claire's empathic powers as well as the blossoming of a relationship between her and her new neighbor, "The Protector." She wades through her own fears, and learns to focus and control her empathic power to help Neil locate the son who was taken from him 8 years ago. Oh, and did I mention there's some kind of evil force lurking out there, trying to destroy her? Yep, there is.

I really like the idea of this trilogy, as well as book one.
I like stories so much better when our two main characters are working to help each other, like this book. I like the suspense romance genre, but I'm not overly found of the damsel in distress plots where the woman always has to be rescued at the end of the book. I would much rather see the couple face the challange together, and I this book had that.

It tool 2 moths to read this. It ended up being my purse book, while I read others. I liked the story enough to keep at it, but it wasn't as captivating as some of the other stories I've read.

Claire and Neil were likable characters, as well as the rest of the family. The chemistry between the two was a big let down though. The love scenes were basically skimmed over. I liked it enough to read the next book, but not right away.

For some unexplained reason I was drawn to this trilogy about sisters that have clairvoyant powers. This is not my usual type of read. The story was very fast paced, and just enough romance was sprinkled in to releave the tension. I did enjoy the story and I plan to read the other two books really soon. The characters were really believable. The author did a great job telling the story.

This is an excellent trilogy of sisters with psychic gifts and someone wanting to destroy the. The first book lays the ground work and the chemistry between Claire and Neil is perfect.
