This is the first book in the new SEAL of Protection: Legacy series. It is a spin off of the original SEAL series. It will have a whole new team of Navy SEALs (that you have already met in Protecting Dakota) and takes place in the same city and Navy base as the original.

This is Caite McCallan and Blake "Rocco" Wise's story.

Caite McCallan is a Department of Defense admin working in Bahrain when a glitchy elevator, of all things, leads to an unexpected invitation to dinner by a gorgeous Navy SEAL. When he later stands her up, Caite’s understandably upset until she overhears a plot that confirms Rocco didn’t blow her off. Instead, he and two fellow SEALs are in danger and Caite is forced to put her career and her life on the line to save them.

Blake “Rocco Wise never expected his routine mission to go sideways, but he was even more surprised to find himself and his teammates rescued by the adorably shy woman he met in a stalled elevator. Caite’s selfless act saved his life, but when attempts on her own make it clear someone wants her gone, it’s Rocco’s turn to protect the brave, sweet, sexy woman. The longer he knows her, the more he wants her but keeping Caite close could bring her nearer to the enemy than ever before.

**Securing Caite is the 1st book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

We got to know a few men from this team in Protecting Dakota now Susan Stoker unleashes them with her new adrenaline pumping - Seal of Protection (Legacy) series. First up is SECURING CAITE - Bk 1. Seals are known for bringing their A game and taking the fight to their enemy what happens when the tables are turned and our hero Rocco, and his team mates are captured and injured? No matter how impossible the odds - they certainly won’t give up without a fight. Even for the most experienced, rescue comes about in a most unexpected, highly unusual way. Who we meet, who will capture our attention, who saves them, in a place that is highly volatile and dangerous, is the one they never expect - that unassuming, quiet person lady.

Sit back, devour SECURING CAITE, you’ll be swept up into a storm of intrigue, drama, suspense and an attraction that keeps getting interrupted, as Susan Stoker unleashes the men that make up Seals of Protection into the book world. This series is sure to unfold a boatload of drama, trouble and a whole lot of new romance with new heroes out to not only protect the world at all costs but also the ones the come to care about.

Susan Stoker is one of my all time favourite authors in the Military/Romantic Suspense world. No matter what series, she gifts us with you are always afforded with a reading treat, you are also certain to catch up with those familiar names, you’ve got to know and love previously, always ready to help when called upon.

If you love page-turning, heart pounding, breath-taking words, Susan Stoker, delivers this for her readers. Looking to start a new series you will not be disappointed starting with SECURING CAITE. There’s even a teasing hint of what’s to come Are you ready?

This book has it all:
- Lots of cheesy nicknames
- A heroine who is curvy but, like, not in a fat way
- Tedious villain monologues
- “Suspense that isn’t even suspenseful because it gets spoiled immediately
- A hero who goes from 0 to caveman in love after getting stuck in an elevator with a mousy woman who blushes every time you look at her

The premise really drew me in but it was executed abysmally. The heroine is such a flat character. At one point the hero says she “oozes personality but there is nothing in the text that confirms this. He is immediately infatuated with this woman and he states that he doesn’t know why he’s drawn to her. Quite frankly, I haven’t a clue why either. Sometimes, it seems as though Caite is a passive participant in this relationship. I mean, we have a “you’re my girlfriend moment and she’s just kinda like “ok. He’s the only one driving the relationship forward and she’s just following along. He babies her too and she’s just like “ok. Come on, girl!

There is no depth to this story. It’s an exciting story reported quite blandly. I felt as though the suspense element was very thin and absolutely far-fetched at times. For me, it fails on the romance and on the suspense. I so wanted to love this book.

This is my first book by Susan Stoker and she is now one of my favorite authors. I loved this book! As usual, I start a series of books that's actually connected to a previous series. Although, other characters from previous series are mentioned, it's a standalone book.

Rocco and team, Navy SEALs, meets shy Caite in an elevator. Elevator gets stuck. Rocco strikes up a conversation and plans for a date. Rocco and team go on a mission and it goes awry and the SEALs are injured and captured. Rocco doesn't show up for their date. Caite is hurt thinking he stood her up until she overhears a conversation. Rocco and team are shocked to find out who saves them. Then someone sets out to kill Caite and Rocco will protect her with his life!

This book is full of action, suspense, and romance. I'm really looking forward to the next one and will definitely be reading the Seal of Protection series. Such an awesome book and such an awesome author!

I am a very heroine centric Reader, and I wish that this book had worked better for me than it actually did. I found myself very frustrated because it seems like the hero got all of the accolades, where as the heroine was not a clearly realized character.

I love all kinds of characters. I love the brave ones, the frightened ones, the bad ass ones, the quiet ones, and those who show their strength in a myriad amount of ways. I just never felt like the heroine was able to show this. While she did save the life of the hero and his team, it seemed as though there was not as much care put into her character.

I am a big fan of this author, but the writing quality for this book was very different than previous ones that she has written. I am still intrigued enough with this series to continue on with the next book, though. I just wish that this one had been something that I could have fully enjoyed.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy. This is Rocco and Caite's love story. I loved all the characters in this book. This book was full of action and suspense. I loved how Rocco was with Caite. I could not put this book down, and I was just pulled totally into this story. I loved this book so much.

If I could title my reviews, this one would be called 52 Times. Susan Stoker is a new-to-me author. I happen to love any and all military books. I keep chasing the Brockmann feeling. While I really liked the book and the cast of characters, and the fact that there are many, many, books on her backlist I can dive into, I could have done without the pet name the hero calls our heroine 52 times in this book. After the 10th time I was over it. “Ma Petite Fée (My little fairy) could die in a fire. Calling a woman little anything irritates the fuck out of me. Good thing I loved her voice, the story, and the characters to ignore that annoying name. Which, by the way, he said in a bad french accent 52 fucking times. See my point?

Caite is working overseas in Bahrain for the DOD. She upped and moved her life for a year so she could get paid more money to pay off debt and school loans. She’s pretty much a loner, works hard, and thinks she’s not much to look at. She’s headed into work and gets on the elevator, when three very big military men file in behind her. She’s a bit annoyed but scoots to the back and keeps her eyes on the floor, until she takes a peek at the men. She is struck stupid by Rocco’s good looks and she tries to crawl into herself. Of course, our hero is very friendly and very interested in the shy woman. As they are making it up to the second floor, the elevator stops abruptly. Caite is used to this, because it happens frequently. She sits down to wait for help and the Navy SEALs get comfortable with her. While they are stuck, they all get to know each other. Rocco definitely calls dibs and his SEAL teammates are amused. With the help of Rocco and his guys, they get out of that sticky situation and a promise for a date with Caite. She is very excited, because it has been a long time since she had one, let alone a date with a very attractive man. She assumes they are SEALS from the way they behave and her being around the military for her job.

Rocco is on a mission to find out who is stealing artifacts. Things get pretty dicey for Rocco and his team. Caite is upset because Rocco stands her up. She will soon learn it’s worse than that. Rocco and his men are captured in the process of locating the remaining artifacts. Caite is having lunch during a job fair at the office and she overhears a bunch of men speaking French, a language she studied hard for in college. She hears them talking about the men being captured and they are planning to kill them as soon as possible. Caite tries to get her moron boss to help, but he won’t listen to her. He’s more pissed that she got the job over his friend. Caite has no choice but to take matters into her own hands, even if that means she’s putting herself into some serious danger. She throws on a hijab and proper covering on her body and sneaks into the worst part of Bahrain. She makes it to the store where they are being held, thanks to the paperwork the brothers filled out for the job fair. Caite shows up and frees the men from the cellar they have been locked in. Rocco is in awe of her bravery. Unfortunately, they missed their date and Rocco is on the clock and his time in Bahrain is coming to a close. With a kiss, a promise when she gets back to the states for a date is made.

Caite gets fired from her job at the DOD for leaving the premise with a hijab on, which is against their rules. She makes it back to the USA defeated and disgusted. She finds temporary housing and a temporary job until she can find one in her field. Rocco gets notice that Caite is back, along with the fact she was fired for helping him and his teammates. He tracks her down and they start a very sweet relationship. While this is all starting, the bad guy knows about her and he can’t let her live. There are many attempts on her life and Rocco and his team, with the help of some retired SEALS, are on the case. The stakes are high and Rocco is in protection mode. Things come to a nice boil and the good guys win the day.

I really liked this book. I loved the interactions between Rocco’s team and Caite. I loved the brotherhood. The story was meaty enough and their journey to a HEA was everything I want in a book. I am looking forward to the next two books coming out this year. I downloaded the first of the series this one spun from, which is Wolf’s book. All their call sign names are strange to me, but like the 52 times of “Ma Petite Fée, I kinda ignored them. If you love some alpha Navy SEALs and some strong heroines, this book is for you.

5 Action Packed, Suspense Filled, Romance Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

When Caite and Rocco met in Bahrain, neither knew that both their lives would be turned upside down. With an undeniable connection, they'll stop at nothing to protect each other. Will they connect all the dots before it's too late?

This book is brilliant! I loved every page of this story. Susan Stoker has written another amazing story, and it’s a fantastic start to her new SEALS series. Susan Stoker has also brought into this story and hopefully the series, some of our favourite characters from the first SEALS series.

From start to finish, Securing Caite is full of action and suspense, keeping you on the edge of your seat, wondering what was going to happen next. This story isn’t about the hero protecting his girl, it’s about a heroine and hero, protecting each other, no matter the cost.

Both Rocco and Caite are great characters, strong, determined, clever, giving life their all, never afraid to protect the ones they love. They were perfect together, I honestly feel, there isn't one thing I disliked about them, or that irritated me in some way, they really were two brilliant, enjoyable, and loveable characters.

Rocco's team mates, all seem a diverse group of men, each intriguing in their own way and although I have only just met them, I think I love them all, already. The support, love and gratitude they had for Caite, melted my heart, as well as the strength of friendship, and the bond, the six men had together. I'm really looking forward to reading each of their stories in this series.

Looking for Military Romance, full of action, and suspense, with loveable characters, then, Securing Caite is for you.

Considering this is the first book in a spin-off series from a previously successful series, I expected the author to be better at this. From the awful dialogue, to the awkward inner monologues, and to the weird obsessive way the author describes the “bad ass walk talking weapons of a SEAL Team, I kept cringing.
Rocco is an awful characterization of a hero. He was demeaning and dismissive of Caite. And Caite is supposed to be a “strong woman, but she is probably the most insecure character this side of Fifty Shades Ana.
Normally I expect the need to suspend disbelief while reading a romance novel; but these characters were so unrealistic and the way this supposed experienced author writes like a total amateur made it impossible to enjoy the novel even for a minute.
1/10 - no steam, no imagination, and not worth the time.

What a great start to a new series.

Caite takes a job overseas and it comes with a lot of restrictions. She meets a Navy SEAL named Rocco (and his friends) in an elevator at work when it gets stuck.

He stands her up for a date and she is upset. Later she realizes that Rocco and his friends are in trouble. Putting her fears aside, she goes with her gut and sets out to see what she can find out, even knowing it is dangerous. After what Caite does for Rocco and his friend, it puts her life in danger. Rocco goes about trying to save Caite.

This is full of suspense, action, love and lots of great moments. Just the kind of book I love from this author.

OMH! 10+ stars for the beginning of this new series! Caite & Rocco have a unique relationship from meeting to HEA, and I loved every second of this story! We get to meet a new team, catch up w/ our original SEAL team, and fall in love with all the new characters.

This story has quite a bit of action, banter & just enough steam to make it a perfect read. I didn't want to put it down (and wouldn't've if not for Christmas activities needing attention! LOL)!! And we get a tease at the end for the next story in the series, which looks FABULOUS as well!! : )

I've read several of her other series, but not the on this is spun-off from.

Loved meeting Rocco and his team. Caite was amazing and brave even when she was scared to death. Loved how their relationship developed. I can't wait to meet the rest of the team.

This was an enjoyable read with likable leads and an engaging suspense B-plot. I felt the romance was a touch insta-lovey but liked that the hero managed to be an 'alpha male' without being an asshole.

The couple: Rocco and Caite

Romance genre: Military; Romantic suspense
Series: SEAL of Protection: Legacy
Length: 356 pages

Plot: Caite works for the Department of Defense as an administrative assistant. She's working in Bahrain and while there, she meets Rocco and other members of her team. He's like to see her again, but things are getting a little dicey over there - they're trying to bust some smugglers. Rocco and his team are captured and Caite is actually the one to figure out what happened and then she rescues them. Because of her actions, she loses her job and her life is put in danger. She and Rocco start a relationship but he'll have to protect her at the same time.

Commentary: Caite was proper brave - she should have used that momentum to take out her horrible boss. The rescue did seem improbable, though. But it did set up the books for the other guys down there. The villains were very much caricatures, but that's par or the course. All in all, some entertainment for the afternoon.

Next book in the series:

OMGosh! This book was fabulous! I am a huge fan of Stoker’s books. I love the military background and lifestyle, the look into missions and extras she researches and shares, the strong, swoon-worthy alpha males, the steadfast, capable, outstanding women who match them, the turmoil, life and death situations, epic rescues, all the action, camaraderie between the characters, strong bonds, romance and of course, the HEA’s. Securing Caite does not disappoint, it contains all of this and more. This book is a wonderful start to a new series in Stoker’s world, with new SEALS, their destined mates and new adventures. I am looking forward to sharing in their adventures and falling in love with a whole new set of characters. I absolutely adored Rocco and Caite and their unique relationship. It was intriguing from their first meeting and lead to a great HEA. I enjoyed every minute of this story and the fact that we get to meet an entirely new group of guys as well as catch up with the original SEAL teams. This book has a lot of action, drama, wit and banter, funny moments, steamy bits and sweet romance. It was engaging from beginning to end. I am ready and waiting for the next!

*I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was just like being back with the SEAL of protection team and I loved that. Caite is a great heroine-she is smart and normal. She takes a job because she needs money. She is realistic about things going on in life. Rocco is your typical alpha male SEAL but Stoker always makes that work. I couldn't put this book down. The action is great-not over done. The romance is swoon worthy too!

Great new team and series

If you enjoy a great romance with all the feels with relatable characters, witty dialogue and steamy sex, you will love Susan Stoker's latest. Rocco and Caite are great together and I love that Caite isn't perfect, but that Rocco thinks she is. Sizzling hot!

This is a review of the writing, not a rehash of the publishers blurb.
This is a vanilla romance with the dangling carrot being a SEAL as a hero.
This story was flat, and the characters lack depth.
There are a few bright spots, but overall, not enough of them to save this story.
Not going to bother with the rest of the series.

When I got this book as a free Kindle book last year, I'd never read Susan Stoker before. It's was gooe enough to intrigue me, and that and my love of animal rescue made me want to continue reading the next book in the series, , which kept me reading.

Cait McCallan is a smart, tough woman, who's often unappreciated by those around her, including her jerk of a boss. Thankfully for both of them, Navy SEAL Blake "Rocco" Wise is different, because if she hadn't met him beforehand, she wouldn't have had the necessary information to save his life. She's alternately brilliant and not terribly smart (since it takes multiple near-death experiences to have her realize someone is trying to kill her). Plus, the thing where Rocco calls her "ma petite fée (my little fairy) gets old really fast. Still, they've got chemistry, and it's a good relationship. Not a perfect book, but definitely good enough to re-read.

I’m just not in the mood for a woman who doesn’t understand why a guy would hit on her cause she’s not beautiful. Gag. All women can be beautiful and if a guy is hitting on you, that means he thinks you’re attractive. I hate reading about timid uncertain women with low self-confidence.

This book is boring me. DNF at 12%.

Great Start I loved how Caite risked all that she was taught to go into the bad section of town to save the Ace, Rocco, and Gumby well let me tell you that’s the beginning of excitement in this book and we get a great love story thrown in.
