Every town has stories of its past, and Havenwood Falls is no different. And when the town’s residents include a variety of supernatural creatures, those historical tales often become Legends. This is but one . . .
Sequel to Trapped Within a Wish, this novella is the continuation of Amani and Nathan’s story in Havenwood Falls.
Nathan found more than he bargained for when he came to Havenwood Falls in search of his father’s camera, and freeing Amani was only the beginning. Now, they spend time getting to know each other in the town that’s become a safe haven, while awaiting the goddess’s judgment that will determine Amani and her nefarious sister’s fate.
Thoth, the god of wisdom, has been working diligently to find a way to separate the twin djinn females, but Khalida won’t go down without a fight. She knows her time is limited and everyone adores her sister over her, but Khalida has discovered a way to show them another version of Amani––a version that could possibly destroy them all.
The Havenwood Falls shared world is a collaborative effort by multiple authors across multiple series all in the paranormal fantasy genre, allowing readers to discover new authors and stories to fall in love with. Each author brings a stand-alone plotline, so they can be read in any order, but there are many crossovers among the stories.
I create charmed worlds by writing stories involving passionate, strong-willed characters with something to discover. I started out writing romance but, along the way, realized I wanted to write stories about people. If there happened to be a romance, then it was meant to be. Otherwise, the stories I write are about self-discovery—who the characters are in the beginning and who they end up becoming.
In the pages of a book, you can be anything you want to be. Who would you become and why? :P
Released From a Curse is a Legends of Havenwood Falls Novella by Brynn Myers. It is the concluding part of the previous novella Trapped Within a Wish. That book was really good, it earned a 4-star rating from me. This concluding part was even better and I read as fast as I could in order to find out the outcome.
Nathan, a human, and Amani a djinn were brought together in the first book of the set. They fell in love and were desperate to find a way to stay together. The problem was that in Havenwood Falls there are strict rules in place for the safety of the supernaturals and the humans living there. The council deemed Amani a danger to the town because of her imprisoned twin. She found a way to try to control Amani through their mental connection which she used to try to force Amani's djinn side, the dangerous side, to emerge. To have a chance of any happiness, and to keep the town safe, the council merges together to find a way to separate the twins without Amani ending up being taken over by her sister. All hell will break loose if that happens. There was a twist to this story that I definitely wasn't expecting and it helped to give the story a perfect ending.
I love a book where although you can predict a happy ending, you are totally shocked by the way it comes about. I thought it was fabulous seeing everyone on the council join in the fight to help Amani. Even Roman gets in on the act, and if you have read the previous book you will know he really wants Amani to be expelled from the town. Seeing him join the fight for her was very moving.
I can't fault this book at all, and I am glad that through Havenwood Falls I have discovered Brynn Myers who can now be added to my list of authors whose books I must read.
We are always learning about people's beginnings in these legend books and each one pulls us in and gives us a better understanding about the current times in Havenwood Falls.
Each one of these stories gives you so much details and emotions that you feel like you are right there during the events that are taking place. This book will make you laugh and cry, and maybe even make you wanna punch Roman Bishop.
Loved this story. It is the 2nd part of the story, so make sure you have read the first. It is Nathan and Amanis story. I enjoyed having all the characters in the story. Especially the Egyptian gods. Its so nice to read about true love. Also, Roman, how no one hasnt killed him yet is a mystery. Lol.
ARC: for honest unbiased review. This is the continuation to Nathan and Amani’s story. Omg such a amazing way of writing Amani and Nathan’s story and with Callie as well as others just amazing read. Brynn Myers knows how to write a beautiful story within the beautiful town of Havenwood Falls. I really enjoy her writing style and she did really amazing in writing this.
Brynn Myers did and amazing job with this continuation of the story from Trapped Within A Wish! I love how she resolved the issues with Amani and Khalida, it was a pleasant surprise to see how things were managed. Plenty of surprises and suspense were included along the way to the climax of this tale.
Lovely story and great ending to this trilogy. So Nathan and Amani get their happily ever after and goof triumphs over evil, but I didn't expect anything less. I don't want to give anything else away. It looked like sparks could fly between Thoth and Calla Lily. That would be fun and it would be nice to see a story about a grown up Qadira sometime down the line. Maybe a Qadira and Calla Lily team up. :)
Released From a Curse (Legends of Havenwood Falls Book 8) I absolutely loved 😍💗💖💞💕 each book. The characters and town are exceptionally written!!! I felt as if I was part of the story. I wish there was a town like this for real, would so love life!!! As a high school teacher, my students told me to read this series over summer so we can discuss this when they get back!!! I highly recommend these books for teens and adults. ❤️🔥
It Seemed A little rushed towards the end. I don't know if anyone else felt that way or not. It was still a very good story. But, it felt like it was all mushed together so fast there at the end of it!!
